Dissatisfied with her life in Beckham, Massachusetts, Tabitha Murphy decides to head west as a mail-order bride, though she is certain it’s a bad idea. She expects to arrive in Wyoming only to find out whoever had written to her had meant it as a joke, or that the man she was set to marry had died. She’s not at all surprised when she reaches her destination to find no one waiting for her. After waiting for a good, long while, she stops the next stranger passing by, and asks him where to find the man she was sent there to marry, only to see him laughing at her. Bert Blander is highly amused to find out this woman from the east has come all the way across the country to marry a man who is a few bricks shy of a load. He’s not at all certain the man can even read. Instead of leaving her there on the street, he takes her home with him, until she can find herself a husband. Somehow, they find themselves tying the knot the following day. But who sent the letters for Jacob Small? And will that person expect their money for her train fare back?
Loved this book so much I couldn’t put it down until I was done.A no o try her great mail order bride story from Kirsten Osborne.Tabitha was not happy where she was in life and she ran into the village matchmaker who talked her into becoming a Mail Order Bride. She believes she is the unluckiest person around so she thinks no one will meet her when she gets to her destination and she is right. But a local rancher stops to talk to her and things get better!!
She was leary of being a MOB and figured something would go wrong. It did! The man never showed up and she found out he wasn't what the letter said. The man that she met when she got off the stage helped her. Grab a copy of this book and find out how and about being traded for 3 sandwiches . Great read!!!
Five stars, Tabitha was looking for an out in life so she became a mail order bride. Once she got there, the man she was going to marry was mentally challenged.. So she married Bert who was helping her find her way. Even though she married in a rush she was up to the challenge in making marriage worked. Fast ending.
Thoroughly enjoyed personalities of all characters. Tabitha one of the best female characters I have read about in many many books. Bert surprisingly upbeat. Love the physical side of their relationship, very open.
Mail order bride ho was uncertain due to misfortune and sure enough her intended did not show up. Then a man who was set in his ways appears and her world turns around. A fun story to read.
I always want more. Like when Elizabeth went to see her sister in Texas and meet her children. Or Elizabeth sends a sibling to marry. Guess I'm just greedy to know more to the baby arriving.
I always enjoy these stories and this one didn't disappoint. Bert and Tabitha were just what the other needed. The story grabbed my attention from the beginning and I read it straight through.
A beautiful love story that you must read today!! Follow the journey for this mail order bride that was not pick up at the train station but still found her soul mate and married him!! Loved this book and this who mail order series!!
Bert Blander - came off rude but was a teddy-bear inside a lonely one. Tabitha Murphy - she wanted to marry and get out of town but was scared that something would go wrong becoming a m.o.b. and it did but turned out to be good for her. I enjoyed reading this wonderful story with hilarious moments of a spunky m.o.b and a thick headed cowboy/rancher with a loving hea! AMA
