Great book to read to get a quick snapshot of the brain, it's parts, and functions. Truly reminded me how complex, amazing, and wonderful the brain is.

An excellent introductory technical book about the brain. It goes into detail about the brain and cell structures, save for the process of action potential and chemical makeup of the neuron.

The book is very outdated in regards to its content on Autism.
The diagnosis of Asperger's has roots in white supremacy and ableism and was removed from the DSM - 5 in 2013. The diagnosis is now encompassed by the broader term Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), I'm not sure when this book was published so maybe it was before that but it is still important to note if you are considering reading the book or if you have read the book already and need to unlearn some of the misinformation. Additionally many autistic people have shared that the functioning labels of "high functioning" and "low functioning" are harmful for various reasons (I'd recommend doing your own research to listen to their voices instead of mine) and the labels have now been replaced with the terms "lower support needs" and "higher support needs"
Overall it was a great read, very light and easy to understand, even in something as complex as the human brain but I definitely would take the information with a heavy grain of salt as there is probably more misinformation in subjects I know less about too.
