i must say that i was really disappointed in this book. how can there be an entire volume and virtually nothing happens?! it really isn't hard to figure out, this happened all of the time in fushigi yugi. nakia escapes, kail discloses that yuri's clothes could be used to whisk her away to someplace else, not necessarily back to japan, urhi dies, juda has a potential new love interest (nevermind he is a widower and has like 3 concubines already), and nakia goes on a killing spree. yay... so with all of this, how can i say nothing happened? well, it was pretty darn predictable that nakia would escape and urhi would have an ace in the hole for her, juda would be overdramatic, and a new threat on yuri would be waged. but what trully gave it the feeling that nothing happened was that all of this could have happened in like 2 1/2 chapters, instead it was drawn out for an entire book just on repeat of how horrible nakia can be, possible wedding plans, plans to capture nakia, and yuri wedding plans. there was also that needless scene of yuri being soo selfless. yeah yeah, i get it, she's great, blah blah.
i think i's just complaining because this book is a build up for #27. i'm just excited for things to wrap-up or have a new development, or something.
This book is basically scheme scheme scheme. It get a bit repetitive so let's talk about the non-scheming okay?
Love! EVERYWHERE!
- Kikkuri married both Ryui and Shala (they both dated him at the same time, but didn't bother to tell him that). - Juda and Alexandra are set to be married because obviously every single last one of Kail's brothers need women who will boss them around until they do what they're supposed to. - Nefert shows up to proclaim her love for Rusafa who is just flabbergasted (and a bit appalled I think). - Kash is able to lay Ursula's spirit to rest because she is declared innocent of her crimes. - Urhi all but confesses his love to Nakia (and she to him). Which I'm right there with you Nakia, why did he wait so long? (I think it goes back to neither saw the middle ground as desirable until too late)
Nakia e Uruhi. Non so. Ormai non mi fanno né caldo, né freddo. La loro strana storia... Beh, avrei voluto dire alla Shinohara: «TAGLIA!!»
Yuri Ishtar is finally getting married to Crown Prince Kail. Queen Dowager Nakia has been removed as Tawananna and the Hittite Empire needs someone to fill the space immediately. As the wedding date approaches, danger approaches as well. Nakia has escaped the city and is in a different city by now. The troops search high and low to find her. But, since she can control them using magic water, they will have to be careful.
I think this is a great book even though it is rated for older teens. There is history and magic included in the manga. I liked this book and i suggest it to someone who wants to read about history and wants to try to read about it in a different form than textbook/encyclopedia/non-fiction book.
cant beleive it almost over...damn i went through this books like a parched person in a desert and the books were the only water avaliable *excuse my poor excuse of a methaphor*0////0
I found this series on a mere coincidence but it quickly became one of my all time favourites. I read the entire series in 1.5-2 days. It was truly wonderful and a joy to experience.
Overall Rating: 2..../10 I re-read from teenager to grown up. Not the best idea...
This may be my third re-read of this series. I am pretty sure I read it twice in the first two years of it's release. I was young, I loved it. It was romantic. But after reading it this year (maybe +15 years later....), I was wrong. I just saw wrong turns, within wrong turns. Maybe as an adult, you see things differently.
If you,ve read a manga or book during your early years and end up reading them much later in life, you may end up like me- loving a series in the past and ruining it as the adult in you laughs for once enjoying them... :(
Do I recommend this: Unless you are under the age of 20 honestly...
