The trouble is, I don't do kids.
I never wanted them… And never will.

That first night unleashed an animal in me that's hungry to satisfy the desire I see in her to be owned.
Playing house has affected me in a way I would've never predicted—and when we're wrapped up together, there's no place else I'd rather be. But now that I know she's pregnant, I'm not sure about making this game a reality or what kind of daddy I'd be

Hadley and Holden, the niece and nephew he had never met, were left at the door of Kai Alexander’s penthouse by his addict sister Katie, a single backpack of belongings for the two of them to share. Kai did not relate to kids and wanted nothing to do with them. He rampaged through his office staff to find someone who could take care of them while he figured out what to do with them. His executives were no help at all until he was told the receptionist came from a large family. He found Daphne under her desk, not sure what she was doing. But despite his crazed attitude of desperation, as soon as she stood up, he appraised every inch of her body including the beauty mark on her cheek and wondered why he never noticed her before. (I’d have to quit with a rude, entitled jerk like that as my boss. And his attitude toward his niece and nephew had me livid and wanting to do him harm! He is an absolutely obnoxious man.)
Daphne arrived at the Penthouse and the two children looked terrified on the couch. She still didn’t know their names – but their own uncle didn’t either. She asked the housekeeper to purchase some food for them since there was nothing for them to eat. Then she turned on a cartoon and sat quietly near the kids. Both of them fell asleep and, when Mr. Alexander arrived home like an angry bull, he was further infuriated when she asked him to be quiet and not wake the kids. She had to put her hand at the door frame as he tried to slam it closed. And he was loud, angry at being shushed. He never glanced at the kids, just told her to feed them and went off to his study. And his office reported that they could find no one to take care of them on such short notice.
So he relentlessly badgered her to take care of the kids and, once he finds his sister and sends them back, Daphne can have her receptionist job back. (I truly believe she accepted the job to give the kids something they would never get from him… love, or even a smile. Because he refers to them as “shi**y little humans, and I can’t believe someone could be that ignorant and cold.)
Daphne continues to be kind and nurturing to the kids. Kai continues to be selfish and self-centered. So their relationship that develops is nothing I care to know about. This story had me so disgusted that I could see no redemption for him. This was not a story I enjoyed at all.
I just want to start out by saying I received an ARC copy in exchange for a review and my opinions are my own.
Where do I even begin. Once I started this book I couldn’t stop reading it until it was finished. I loved Kai and how his character develops and he surprised me in the best way. I love that Daphne is able to give him a new perspective on life.
What happens when Katie just drops off her two children and expects her billionaire brother to take care of them? What happens between Kai and Daphne? Will she take the leap of faith or will she stay boxed in to her nanny role only?
Well what are you waiting for? Grab a book and see for yourself what happens to the kiddos and what will become of Daphne and Kai.
Can I give this a 0⭐️ review? My god, did any one proofread? I counted 20+ typos in this book. The MMC is so awful in the beginning. Peckerhead. You don’t know their age OR the kids age until halfway through the book. You never find out what happened to his sister and if they ever got full custody. C’mon!! That’s what this book is about and you can’t even tell us what happened?!!!?
Then!!!! (SPOILER ALERT) she tells the MMC that her mom wants to come get her and move her back to Ohio because her mom found out that she wasn’t with her EX still (apparently she told her family that her and her ex were moving to Miami together - again didn’t know that’s where they lived until a quarter of the way through. THEN!!! That’s not all!!! Two seconds after telling him that, she’s all like, “I’ve got to tell you something….. I’m preggers!” WTAF!?!?!
These two dumbasses deserve each other. Safe your time, money, and brain cells.
Yes. I’m bitter. Sorry this is my like 4th or 5th shitty book in a row. I need a good one.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I thought this would be more like the first book but it was total opposite. I didn’t like Kai most of the book but loved Daphne. I get this series is honing in on grumpy billionaires but Kai was something else. I’ve never read about a man who was so not present in his everyday life, at work, with family or friends. He was a broody, angry, loner who didn’t trust at all and thought every woman was after his money and status, because of his ex-fiancé. She really did a number on him so much so that he hadn’t a clue about raising kids when his sister dumped them on his doorstep. He closed himself off to others and poured himself into his work. He didn’t even know his sister had kids. Regardless, at first impression I didn’t like Kai. The book dives right into the kids getting dropped at his house and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Maybe the author wanted to convey the situation head on rather than fill us in on meager details about Kai’s life, which I would have preferred. Immediately I get a bad first impression of him and I take that with me throughout the book. It was hard to find a connection and love for him. Even when he loses that part of himself, it still sat with me but yet I still wanted him to be with Daphne. She seemed to make him a better person. The situation they were both put in was awkward. He basically plucks the first person he’s told knows about kids and forces her to work with him. She didn’t have a choice but chose to do it out of the kindness of her heart, and I loved that about her. Every action she did and thought process was priceless. She thought only of the kids but still wanted her own needs fulfilled, even though it took her a while to get on board with it. Kai didn’t care, he didn’t take no for an answer and went for what he wanted. His possessiveness made me a bit uncomfortable. Under normal circumstances that would not be normal and a complete red flag. I like the hero possessive, but not in the way Kai was conveyed, almost like a predator. Regardless, even though I didn’t care for Kai, the story was good and I was drawn to it. The heat was intense with them and I liked reading about it. He took the phrase “owning her” to heart but he also admitted that she owns him and is wrapped around her finger and that’s kind of sweet and romantic. The next book was actually the one I wanted to read so we’ll see if I like it better or about the same.
Is this written by AI? The book is full of spelling and grammatical errors. There is at least one page where an entire paragraph is duplicated, and the book is full of plot holes. In one scene she is in a flannel, crop top, and leggings but then in the very next, she's wearing a dress. Kai is constantly sexual in scenes where it makes no sense. He is cold and detached but demanding she move in, when just a few pages before said that he would send a car to take her to and from the penthouse while she babysat. In one scene the penthouse is "too small" for all of them, but in the very next it is being described as huge. I don't even think this book was edited before it was put on KU.
Sweet little rom/com pairing Kai, a wealthy slightly older hotty and Daphne, a young woman on the run from her ex. She needs a job and stumbles into the available position to tend to Kai’s niece and nephew, who he has been housing while their mother is in rehab. They have been traumatized by their mother’s drug problems. Daphne and Kai fight their attraction to each, but then succumb to their passion as she helps him realize he is capable of love. The first half of the book held my interest better than the second half, though it was still a most enjoyable read. The book could use a good editing to correct errors.
I have enjoyed reading this story and loved every minute of it as well. For it tells of a young man who is in a tight spot when he is left with two small children of his sister's while she puts herself in to rehab,it was ment to be thirty days only she did not stay and turned up two months later hopping to take the kids back but he would not let her until she prove she was clean of drugs and could look after them.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁from a bookworm
This has the right amount of build up. The characters were honest about their feelings even when it shocked them. The sexual chemistry is so raw and exciting. There was only one inconsistency I noticed but otherwise a decently written book.
Fun read. Nanny romances are the best. Kai was an asshole when he first got his niece n nephew left at his door. Daphne was loveable and great with The kids. I loved how she brought Kai to his knees.
I was hooked from the very beginning. The story just pulled me in and wouldn't let go. Every page was a new twist and turn, keeping me guessing. I couldn't put it down until I reached the very end. Definitely a must-read for anyone who loves a good thrill.
I enjoyed the characters and the story lines of this book. I would definitely recommend that it is to be read along with the other books in the series.
This is a new author and this book is really a good job for a newbie. This is the cutest story but also a sexy story. The two kids in the story grab your heart strings and make you happy when they are happy. The whole concept of the story is good and the change in Kai is excellent. She has some good ideas and this book is worth reading. I really enjoyed it and had a hard time putting it down.
I absolutely fell for this book! It was so quick and sweet! Loved the FMC and the MMC was so amazing to fall in love for. I recommend this for someone who wanted a sweet and adorable book!
Can I give this story more than five stars?!?! Wow!! What a magnetic and steamy read. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. This is book two of the Star Island Lovers series and it DID NOT disappoint. Book boyfriend turned husband has landed!!😄😋😄
Kai Alexander is wealthy, impatient, and a total alpha male who finds himself with his young niece and nephew left on his doorstep one morning. He needs a nanny ASAP! He quickly goes looking for one among his many employees. This man is determined with everything he does. And it leads him to newly hired Daphne Sutton. A young, curvy beauty with a heart of gold. After a few questions, he gives her the job. There really is no stepping back with him. Daphne can't say no at this point. I don't think anyone could. Or would. Until now.
And whew!! The attraction between them is blistering and tangible.🔥🥵🔥 Spicy heat!! While Kai is stubborn, determined, likes to get what he wants; Daphne tries to be fair and meet his grumpiness with honesty and frankness. Sunshine sweet!🌞🌞 She's patient. Helps with the kids and gains their trust. She calls him out when he doesn't get involved and to make decisions pertaining to their dynamic. Something no one does to Kai. And as their work/living arrangement changes into something more, their angst and hot passion is bubbling right below the surface. Turn the AC on high!!🧊🧊 Can Daphne give into her feelings for Kai? He's older. He can have anyone he wants but his attention is all on her. He wants her! Can she win his heart too? And what will happen when his sister Kate, comes back for her kids? How can Daphne walk away from them? She's attached. But also attached to Kai. Is Kai going to let her leave? Leave him? No spoilers here. I recommend this book. I hope you'll read it and enjoy. Can't wait to read the next one in this series!❤️🔥🥰❤️🔥
Thank you Ms Storm. I received an ARC and I'm voluntarily leaving my honest review.🎉🎉🎉🎉
So I’m prone to reading books without reading the info blurb about them, with this approach I never know what I’m going to get. This book did not disappoint. Despite being a short read, this book started off at a decently slow pace. It allows you to fall in love with the characters and their development before all the spice, making you love their relationship even more. When it takes a turn for spice land the story definitely picks up. The characters battle a heartbreak we all saw coming and they reach their HEA fairly quickly after the fallout. The only thing this was missing for me to make it 5⭐️ is just a little more back story on the MMC. He’s so shut off from the world and the story points to it being from a publicly failed relationship. However this relationship happens after he’s already a millionaire and something tells me, that’s not the only thing that made him build his walls so high. Surprise kids, billionaire boss, forbidden relationship, age gap, surprise pregnancy, and grumpy/sunshine make this a loveable fast easy read for me ❤️❤️
Where the hell do I begin with this story. when I started this book I couldn’t stop reading it until it was finished.😱
I Iiked Kai and how his character develops and he surprised me in the best way possible I love that Daphne is able to give him a new perspective on life.😊
What will happen when Katie just drops off her two children and expects her billionaire brother to take care of them?
What happens between Kai and Daphne? Will she take the leap of faith or will she remain nanny only ? 😏
Kai Alexander is a grumpy, billionaire developer whose life is centered around his work, He was publically burned by love and has no desire for marriage or children. He's arrogant and his vocabulary is overflowing with four-letter words.
He's blindsided when his housekeeper calls and says his sister, Katie, has abandoned her children on his doorstep, A toddler niece and nephew he's never met.😱
You will just have to get the book and find out the rest , highly recommend it..
Nanny's Grumpy Daddy is Kai and Daphne's sweet older man / younger woman story. Kai Alexander is the billionaire boss and Daphne is a receptionist in his company. Kai's sister Katie has left her 2 children at his penthouse with his housekeeper without letting Kai know ahead of time. Kai didn't see Katie very often and didn't even know that she had children. He didn't want kids of his own and didn't know how to care for them. Kai needed someone to go to his penthouse fast to care for them until he got home with a few answers. This is where Daphne comes in. She is the oldest of 7 siblings. Daphne's job is now to be nanny to Hadley and Holden. Kai, Daphne and the children have a lot of changes going on in their lives. This book is well written and kept my attention. The 2 main characters are funny and learn to grow as they spend time together.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kai is initially a truly unpleasant man. He is self made and still hurting from his ex fiancée's betrayal and hidden gold digger personality. When his sister dumps her two children, Hayden and Holden on his door step he is angry and panic stricken. His secretary's suggestion that he get Daphne, one of his receptionists to child mind seems like the answer to all his problems. What he doesn't realise it that this decision will change the course of his life.
Daphne is a sweet, caring young woman just trying to get by. Kai's demand that she care for his niece and nephew is out of the blue and unwanted. Having met the troubled children she can't say no.
A wonderful story charting the change in Kai as his attraction to Daphne slowly makes him want to be a better man.
Loved this story and read it in one go. Definitely a winner.

He's arrogant and his vocabulary is overflowing with four-letter words. He's blindsided when his housekeeper calls and says his sister, Katie, has abandoned her children on his doorstep. A toddler niece and nephew he's never met. After no luck at finding a suitable daycare or a nanny. Left with no other choice, he grabs Daphne, one of his receptionist, and elevates to live-in nanny status. She's with the children and slowly brings them out of their shell. He's grumpy and still not into children. But Daphne, a miracle worker and slowly works her magic on him. It was a good story that was an easy read. Plenty of drama and angst as he adjusts to his new lifestyle. And he realizes what he's been missing when it looks like he might lose it. A sweet HEA and no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
I got the ARC for this book and it was decent. It had a good story line but I would have liked a little bit more. It was a nice mindless read though between some bigger more intense books. I did like how it didn’t drag on at any time too much to where I wanted to stop reading.
Kai is left holding the baby … well his niece and nephew when their mother his sister leaves them on his penthouse doorstep with only a note and a backpack….Kai hasn’t the faintest idea how to care for children, he searches frantically for someone , anyone to help. Then he sees Daphne he bribes her into being their Nanny . She is half his age but oh so desirable and when they turn the relationship up a few notches on the bedpost he’s in deep… especially now he knows she’s holding a baby bump and although he’s just been playing the part in his house he’s not ready for Daddydom….is he? What does this mean for the two lovers and the adorable children they already care for. A lovely angsty romance with lots of ass and sass and a great chemistry between characters. Well written compelling read.

I absolutely loved this book! Daphne character from the beginning was endearing and drew me in. I loved Kai and how mysterious and angry he was from the beginning! Loved to see thier relationship progressed! The nanny aspect was intertwined so well in the beginning and I felt so drawn to Daphne and her mothering instincts as they came out! The spiciness of this book was just a major plus as well! This book was the perfect grumpy sunshine troup if i have ever read one! Couldn't put this book down! I am obsessed and will definitely be recommending to friends! 5 out of 5 stars!!
Kai suddenly finds himself in charge of his admittedly adorable niece and nephew when his sister abandons them on his doorstep. He needs to find a nanny to care for them as soon as possible, so he starts looking among the employees of his company. He comes across newly hired Daphne. She's curvy and sweet as pie; Kai decides she'll make the perfect nanny for the kids. What Kai doesn't know is that Daphne is not going to be afraid to stand up to him when decisions needs to be made for and about the kids (ones he should be making, not her). When this fiery little siren starts feeling the same way that Kai does for her, will they give into that passion? What happens when Kai's sister comes back for her children; will Daphne leave Kai behind too?
This is a fun read. Full of an overpowering, highly focused billionaire who has no idea how to interact with people, let alone his own neice and nephew who are dropped on his doorstep. In a blind panic, he tasks his receptionist with looking after them. Kai and Daphne are great characters full of passion and fire. Both good foils for each other, and they pull you along for the ride. I was engrossed and couldn't put my Kindle down. I highly recommend this book.
