TEAM RYDER

A quick easy read, you can't help but like Harper in her words she describes herself as a criminal, a victim, vulnerable and weak..A lost soul..

Ryder works at a coffee shop trying to blend in with the rest of the world but don't be fooled by that, there's more to Ryder than meets the eye..

When these two collide it starts heating up!! The sex scenes are hotness galore..

**review given to me by author for an honest review**

Sharing Harper is an emotional roller coaster. Don't go into it thinking its a light fluffy read. It's anything but.

Dark and gritty. I don't recommend this book to anyone under 17! Has a scene where main character almost gets raped and intense domestic abuse.

On a side note...wow. I absolutely loved this. Harper comes from a very troubled past and I immediately liked her. She is an independent and somewhat vulnerable girl who uses guys to get by.

Ryder, our hero, is swoonworthy and perfect. I am serious! I love his wit and personality. He also knows just how to handle Harper. He is a great guy and he is definitely the type of man that girls will be fan-girling over in no time. Get ready for your next book boyfriend girlies :)

My full review will be up on my blog, http://jessicaslovelybooks.blogspot.com, July 9, for an amazing blog tour! Don't miss it:)
And make sure to pick up your copy of Saving Harper this Sunday.

First of all Congratulations Victoria on your Iraq book! I have been waiting for the release of "Sharing Harper" for some time now. This book is filled with raw passion, raw emotions and pure raw sexual tension. The main character is Harper Mae. She is an independent college student living the sunny California life. She has a tortured past and a broken soul. She uses men just as she was used. Ryder is there to save this damsel in distress. He shows Harper that he us not only in it for the amazing sex but also for the amazing connection they share. I am hoping that the author will write a sequel to this because I would like to learn more about the other characters, specially Skye and Rita.

I was lucky enough to read the book before it's release and now I am recommending it to everyone! The characters are impossible not to love. Harper is lost and self-destructive, but V makes you want her to succeed. Ryder is sexy, first and foremost, but she added another dimension to him and a little bit of mystery that makes you hope through the whole book that Harper will keep him around. The sex scenes are steamy, Harper's demons are heart-stopping, and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next book!

DNF at 40%. I really tried, it was just really cheesy and the dialogue was immature sounding. Ugh, I thought I would give it a try and the cover was so promising. Oh well...

Review of Sharing Harper by V. Murphy
ARC copy provided by author for honest review.

Sharing Harper is the long anticipated debut novel for V. Murphy. I had the pleasure of receiving an advanced copy of this book, not to mention several teasers from Miss V throughout the writing process. (the lil minx, don’t let that sweet face fool you) Let’s just say, I was more than thrilled to finally get my book whore hands on this book! So, let’s get down to the goods…

The main character of this book is Harper (duh) and she is a young college student who has the weight of the entire world on her shoulders. The ghosts of her past are constantly chasing her and she is hesitant to let anyone get too close. Her BFF Skye is surprisingly easy-going considering she is a beautiful, wealthy snob on the outside. She is completely loyal to Harper, so I can forgive her for her sins. (you’ll understand when you read it) I’m not even going to lie, Harper is a complete mess throughout this story. She pushes everyone who cares for her away and tends to self-destruct. The thing I love about her… she owns the fact that she is screwed up. She knows what she does probably isn’t the best option, but it’s the only way she feels she can deal; V. Murphy kept Harper real.

The truth is life is messy, ugly, and hard. Sometimes it can even be cruel. Harper knows all about this and you can feel her pain. Ryder, well, he turns Harper’s whole world upside down and has her questioning herself repeatedly. His life hasn’t been all peaches and cream either and he recognizes a kindred spirit in Harper. They have a relationship that is fraught with ups and downs.

While reading this book I thought to myself more than once “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”. That little saying sums up everything that happens between Ryder and Harper. Since I am not one for major spoilers I won’t tell you if they find their way to their happily ever after or not… you’ll have to pick up Sharing Harper and figure out where the road leads for yourself.

V. does an excellent job of sucking you into the story and keeping you involved. I never found myself wanting to hurry up and get to the end- even during the parts that ripped into my heart I was completely immersed. I cannot wait to see how this series will develop and based on the last few conversations I have had with Minxy V it is going to be ah-freakin-mazing!

This was a sweet, lovely story, Ryder and Harper were a great couple, sparks flew from the get go!

Both very broken, both hiding deep secrets, both victims of getting involved with wrong people.

Skye, Harpers best friend, a bubbly fun, outgoing and outrageous girl. Really looked out for her friend, she was there for Harper without asking questions. Harper needs to be open and honest with her.

They begin a relationship with a 'non-date', where Harper bares her soul and past secrets, that was one highly emotional charged evening, resulting in a heartfelt union between them both. We learn about Harper being abused by the one person she thought loved her, and also how her parents had abandoned her in her time of needs, she had the love and support of her grandpa, who she had unfortunately had lost. They go back to a hotel, and have a great evening, their sex scenes were really passionate and very hot! Ry was also very tender and caring, but this gives Harper confusing signals.

She wakes up alone again, to find he left already, rushing back for Evelyn, but we don't know what her significance is yet.

Harpers friends convince her to not run as per usual, going against everything she has set her mind on securing her future, she goes to Ry's place of work to confront him, only to find him with another woman, after sitting watching, Harper finally gets up and gives him a big slap, then runs again before giving him a chance to explain.

So she decides to run again, only to be given some hone truths, which make her sees things differently, she finally decides she is done running, listens to Ry's explanation, making it the best decision she's made. We learn that Evelyn is his daughter, although we may have already come to that conclusion. He tells her how he came to find out about the baby, and how he hurt his knees and his blooming football career.

Finally Ryder and Harper are going to start their journey together, with Harper meeting with his daughter. Looking forward to finding out what happens next!

I was completely blown away by this novel. While reading I did nothing but eat, sleep & breath Sharing Harper. So obviously, to say that I loved it is a HUGE understatement. Harper isn't your typical heroine and that's what makes her so awesome. Not that I'm encouraging her tramp-like behavior but its refreshing to see a lead female character in that role instead of the typical womanizing male. Not that there's anything wrong with Ryder, I absolutely adore everything about him. Especially the fact that he saw a damaged beautiful woman with obvious issues and didn't run in the other direction. Instead he ran towards her and was determined to win her over. Yes he has secrets of his own, but it doesn't take away from him being the wonderful jaw-dropping God that he is! Harper's personal growth is noticeable throughout the novel. Ryder did some growing of his own and it was nice to finally see them open up to each other and accept one another for what they are, faults and all and work towards something very real & maybe even permanent. I really enjoyed the writing style and thought the story flowed seamlessly. The characters were well developed and even though most of them had trust funds or where filthy rich in other ways they seemed like your average joe, making them real & relatable. I definitely look forward to reading more books by V. Murphy!

I seriously cried. In fact, I loved, I laughed, I hated, I cried. I agree with other reviews...this cannot be a debut novel. Oh, the way V. captured my heart, my attention and my interest is everything a reader wants. Ryder is what every women needs...not someone to save Harper, but someone for her to lean on. Harper, I relate to so much. The way she loses herself in everything she does, is just how I do. The steamy scenes...oh my. Just...oh my. Erotic, passion-filled, and just...whoa. I haven't put my nook down since I dl-ed my copy just a few hours ago. It's one of THOSE books. Just perfect. And I was delighted to read the awknowledgements and find the spoiler...and absolutely cannot wait to read more by V. This author has talent and will go far!

I wanted to like this book, all the other reviews raved about it. I admit, I didn't finish it. I got about 1/3 through and I just did not like the writing style. It felt stilted and disjointed. It didn't flow and honestly, I was annoyed with the heroine of the story. I wanted to know why she did the things she did, but I couldn't keep trudging through the disassembled sentences. Everything was an "I" this, "I" that, too many I's, it was frankly annoying. I may go back to finish, I hate leaving books unfinished and it not fair to rate a book that wasn't finished, but I couldn't finish. But because I didn't finish - I give it 3 stars because it's unfair to rate a book good or bad without finishing it.

Sharing Harper 3.5 stars

Sharing Harper started out strong. Harper is a badass, independent chick and I liked her from the beginning. She has had her heart broken by someone in the past and is not keen on the idea of having it broken again. So, she uses men and keeps her emotions on lock down.

Along comes Ryder. She is instantly attracted to him and it scares her. Of course they keep bumping into each other. He comes to her rescue one night, when she gets herself into a really bad situation with a strange guy at a club and is almost raped.

The sexual chemistry between Harper and Ryder is strong. The sex was really HOT! Victoria Murphy knows how to write a very steamy sex scene!

The emotional connection is where I was a little lost. I feel like it was too much, way too fast and I just never got on board with the declarations of love and staying together forever after literally just hooking up once.

I was annoyed with Ryder because he said and did things to make her question him that were just really for lack of a better word stupid. The following quote is what he says to Harper after having sex with her the first time.

“Tonight was unlike I have ever experienced in my life. There has only been one moment in my life far greater than tonight and that moment cannot be recreated.”- Ryder

WTF?????… WHY would you ever say this to a girl? Let me add that he does not even clarify what this greater moment was or who it was with.

Harper and Ryder are both holding on to secrets from their pasts. She comes clean with him, which is really difficult for her and he is the only person she has ever confided in. Some of the things she tells him about her past are really graphic and I literally cringed reading it. (Great writing!) While she comes clean, he continues to hold on to his secrets, which really gets on my nerves!! Especially once he finally tells her and I’m like really??? That’s it? It just seemed like he was being a hypocrite for wanting her to disclose everything about herself while he is all mysterious. Then comes the big reveal and it was nothing compared to what she shared with him.

It turns out Harper is actually quite vulnerable and very broken. I LOVED her. She has had a really shitty hand dealt her, but learns to overcome it and to love and trust again. I was very proud of her for finally working through her past.

“Life isn’t about the moments that people take away from us; it’s about the moments we make for ourselves.”

I gave Sharing Harper 3.5 stars. It is a really good read and hits on some tough issues. While I connected with Harper, I just didn’t with Ryder. Yes, he was hot and they definitely worked in the bedroom. I just couldn’t connect with him on an emotional level.

3.5 - 3.75 Stars in my Sky!

I received a copy of Sharing Harper in exchange for an honest review!

I do enjoy a story with a tormented hero or heroine, but in this case you get both. Heroine Harper-Mae comes with a horrible past and a large self-destruct or run-button. the male lead, Ryder (yep I loved the name too) is all kinds of yummy. Armed with an interesting present and complicated past, Ryder knows exactly what (or who) he wants.

What I found particularly interesting about Harper was her coping technique; lots of nameless sex with strangers. Generally we see dozens of books with a damaged male who uses sex (man-whoring) to cope, until he is saved or enlightened by the female lead. Sharing Harper is not exactly the opposite of this but V. Murphy does cleverly twist the idea (without making Harper seem like a slut). Murphy analyses Harper's own lack of self-worth and why Harper does what she does.

The book includes some dark topics (abuse, violence and attempted rape), but it also looks at what comes next: survival. At first I wondered why Murphy hadn't called the book Saving Harper, but then as I read on I realised Sharing Harper is actually a perfect title for the story.

There are some grammatical issues and typos. These can easily be ironed out by an editor, who can help make the language flow more easily and make the convo's seem more natural. I think this is where self-published authors often miss out - we all know how expensive editors can be! There were a few times when I wondered whether people actually speak like Harper and her friends. But hey, maybe it's me being uber British?! On the whole Murphy has done a good job and stylistically Sharing Harper is similar to the Savannah series by Danielle Jamie (unsurprising as Jamie is Murphy's friend and mentor).

Sharing Harper (not to be confused with Stealing Harper, which is from a completely different series by a different author) is an interesting self-published contemporary romance. It's full of sex, tears and heartbreak. I'd probably class Sharing Harper as erotica because there is a lot of sexy times, which are told in a lot of detail. However, there is also a decent and really sad plot as well.

My fav non-spoilery quotes:

•"Life's important question. Are you a tits or ass man?" his mouth went to form an O and his face was priceless.

•"I don't want to share you with anybody else Harper, not even with the memories of your past."

•Sometimes love is deeper than what your brain tells you love is.

I really want to say that the story behind this book is a good start, and was very promising. I actually enjoyed the premise of the story, I just think the execution was lacking.

The way the characters fell in love instantly and how it was written was just not believable to me. I didn't feel any of it happen, it just kinda was because the author said so. I honestly don't know how some authors are able to portray people falling in love, while others seem to struggle with it. All I can say is that this could have been a very good book, and was a good first attempt.

I mean, Ryder sounds yummy and I can pretty clearly see Harper and Skye, so character description was not an issue at all, kudos there. I felt the suspense or importance of Harper's past was intriguing, but really not a lot of follow through on that. I mean, once she told Ryder, that was pretty much it there. Yet, it was stated a few times that Tye told Harper he would always find her, I thought the story was going to involve Tye coming to find her...um, yeah, that's where the story fell through for me. A missed opportunity to solidify our couple of Ryder and Harper by introducing the horror from her past in the flesh. Then it seemed as Ryder's past surpassed Harper's in severity or underlying meaning, when I didn't really think it was a big deal.

Wanted to mention a few smaller things I noticed. Harper's cellphone was left in the bathroom of the club where there was 'the incident' yet we never hear of her getting it back. Much later in the book she all of a sudden has her phone...follow through, again, with details laid out are pretty important to some of us. How did she get her phone? Was it a new one or did she miraculously have the original returned to her? The phone comes in to play again when you factor in that there was no texting or calling between Ryder and Harper through much of the book, then all of a sudden after Ryder screws up he is texting her how sorry he is?! Why was there no texting before this? It just seemed odd that texting was utilized at that point, but not before that moment in the book. Just felt like another detail that just wasn't thought through very well, IMO.

Ultimately, the downfall, for me, there was too much insta-love and not a lot of depth or discovery between the couple to see what caused these extremely intense and quickly forming feelings.

The editing errors were quite numerous in this story, and I honestly think there may have been several words used incorrectly; there were enough errors to cause a disruption to the flow of the story. At one point the book says his jeans hung low on his chest...really? I think there was a bit of an issue there! ;)

First off I have to say I am beyond thrilled and honored to call Victoria my friend. I’ve known her for about four years now, and we both took the leap into writing around the same time. She was the first person I talked to when writing my book & helped me soo much. When she said she had an idea for a book and was going to start writing it I was so excited! I had just published my first book so was able to help with her the whole process.

Being a first time Author there’s a lot of stress and worry that comes with it. We’ve been each others cheerleaders it feels like. Whenever we’ve doubted ourselves the other is there with words of encouragement.

I am blown away by this book. The story is compelling and so different from a lot of romance novels that are out right now. Harper Mae is the main character of her series. She’s strong, independent…but that all is an act to hide the real Harper Mae. Who puts on this tough act to hide how scared she really is. Harper is a very multi-layered character who makes us feel for her immediately. She refuses to let people get close to her besides her best friend Skye. Who we learn right away is not really that close either, she knows only of Harper that Harper has wanted to share. No one in San Diego knows the real Harper Mae…until Ryder comes into the picture.

If you didn’t believe at love at first site, well you do now! It scares the crap outta Harper and sends her running. She is a straight out BITCH to Ryder in her attempt to keep him away. She feels their connection and it scares her, and awakens demons she long ago hid in the back of her mind. She’s afraid to let him in because of being hurt in her past. Ryder does not give up easily. He feeds the bullshit right back at her which I love.

We get to see their relationship blossom through out the book with some ups and downs. The main obstacle being them opening up and sharing their pasts with each other. Which both feared would end their fresh new relationship before it could begin. I am thrilled to know there are many more books to come in this series because I am crushing HARD on Ryder Kent and loving his relationship with Harper.

Congrats Victoria on writing a kick ass novel, may we sore high and achieve our dreams side by side! Love you! <3

In "Sharing Harper" we meet Harper Mae, a girl who has a very hardcore past. She moves away from home to California to leave it all behind. Harper puts on this independent, stong, I don't give a damn tough girl vibe, but it is all an act to cover her real self. She is a scared, battered and broken woman who just wants to keep the past hiden and behind her. She never let's anyone in, she doesn't take chances to getting hurt again. The only person she lets even remotely close is her BFF Skye and even she only know what Harper alows.

We then meet Ryder... Ryder has a past of his own and doesn't want a relationship or love either, but when Harper walks into his coffe shop, he can't help but feel that spark. Ryder will stop at nothing to be with Harper and help her move on with her life. He sees her for what she really is. Harper is scared of the draw she has to Ryder and trys to stay away, but he will have none of that.

This book is FULL of everything!! angst, abuse, love, friendship and a whole lot more.! It is a hard story to read in the since, of the past we learn Harper has endured. It will cut you deep and leave you hurtting for her and praying she finds her peace.

I loved how Ryder didn't give up on Harper. He makes her want things she never thought she could have or deserve. He helps her let go of her fears and open up to him and a new life. He loves her hard and in helping her to open up, he to learns to open to her.

This book is an Amazing story! It will grip you and hold on to you and put you through an emotional ride that will leave you wanting more. To be warned, it does have some hardcore abuse and I would recommend 18 and older to read. It does leave on somewhat of a cliffhanger, however, in a way you are at peace when you finish so you don't really have that cliffhanger feeling at the end. You only are left peacefully wanting more.

V. Murphy did an Amazing job with this book! I personally want to thank her for allowing us (the readers) to read not only, a story of a girl finding her way, but a love story that will grab you.

I give this book a 4.5 star rate and would recommend this book to ALL my book buddies out there!!
It just left me with a HUGE Book Hangover!!! Job well done!!

Received ARC from author for honest review.
I absolutely LOVED Sharing Harper! I did not want to put it down for anything, and like I said to V. Murphy, "Well you did a wonderful job! I could not put my kindle down for anything! My boyfriend dragged me out golfing so I was riding in the cart until I finished!!"
The situation with Harper is real life and you can see why she chooses to live the way she does in regards to booze and boys. You want to knock her out of it, so she will have a chance to be happy but Harper doesn’t believe in love anymore. When she meets Ryder, you instantaneously know he got under her skin and wouldn’t leave her thoughts.
Ryder Andrew Kent, the man who messes all that up for Harper. Ryder is a man that she actually trusts, a man that she actually wants to see when she wakes up in the morning, and a man that she could picture herself falling in love with. But ultimately a man with his own dark hidden secrets, which Harper can’t live with.
I kept going back to Evelyn though and wanted to know who she was to Ryder. I didn’t figure it out until close to the end which was awesome. Usually I figure things out early on in the book, but with Sharing Harper I had a couple guesses that kept going through my head and I couldn’t just pinpoint one.
I’m really glad how the book ends, and could have easily been a great standalone book because it really didn’t house any cliffhangers. Knowing that this will be a series though makes me super happy, because I know that there are things that could be elaborated in future novels. V. Murphy, you better get writing!!! I can’t wait to read the next installment of Harper and Ryder’s relationship!
I am going to give Sharing Harper 5+ stars, because it was truly amazing and will be added to my favorite list. I have already purchased my paperback copy!! I will make sure that all of my reading friends read this book! I will even take all ereaders as hostages until they finish! That is how amazing this book was.

Dazzling Debut

Sharing Harper was a fabulous debut book. I finished the book in one day. This is an amazing story! The characters are completely believable, and the story was very well thought out. It would have been perfect if Ryder and Harper's romantic relationship had been expanded on, rather than, I felt rushed in the first few chapters.

.Quote.
"...sometimes we love someone so much that it hurts to love them. Sometimes it's unexplainable why someone walks into your life. Most of the time it's at a moment where we desperately aren't looking for someone to save us, but they happen to understand that deep down we need someone to share a life with."

 photo coublkwht_zps4dd08767.jpg

Harper and Ryder’s relationship is turbulent. Two people equally flawed who are struggling to find themselves. Ryder works in a coffee shop where he sees Harper for the first time. Ryder recently left a relationship and lost his family. Harper vows never to get close to a man, she suffered a very abusive childhood and is still plagued by nightmares. Can Harper and Ryder learn to work through their issues and give love a chance?

Quote.
“If you keep falling, I’ll have to keep picking you up, Harper.”

If you are looking for a book that warms your heart, with raw emotion and reminds you that love conquers all. This is the book!

I can’t wait for the 2nd series.

Kudos to V. Murphy

I thought the plot and charaters in this book were comendable. The storyline was solid, and there was every range of emotion, feeling, and thought in the story. I quite enjoyed this book. I think the author is talented and look forward to her future works. I teeter on the rapidness of love, I have been inlove myself. Have also faced many of the demons in this story personally. I love the thought of True love and would love to believe it would/could happen as easily as in this story. I would have to say the only thing that held back the last star for me personally is there are quite a few editing misses. Other than that this is a great love story with plenty of "romance" as me and my bff call it.....in otherwords plenty or raw steam filled erotica! :)Mine was an ACR, so the edits have been corrected in the published format. Just wanted to update that info for yall. Enjoy this book! :)

I really liked it. Ryder is sweet and amazing from the start. You also get this dominant alpha side if him that is crazy hot. Harper is a great non whiny woman though she has a right to be at times. Harper had a lot to overcome and her past haunts her everyday. Ryder has a past as well and when all the secrets come pouring out there is love, passion and steam. Though there were a few minor typos I wasn't concerned although I know there are grammar nazis who would drop stars severely over this I won't. The story line is great and cannot wait for book two. There is so much more that can play out!

Ryder and Harper...... Keeping in mind that this is a self-published author, I tried to read this with an objective eye...(being qualified in Proofreading and Copy-Editing myself). The story had an interesting twist, but unfortunately I didn't like the heroine at all. The instant love between Harper and Ryder also seemed forced. I expected him to "win" her first, and not "do" her on the beach....

The grammatical issues and typos affected the "reading flow" of the story, but other than that - compliments to the author for a good writing attempt!

I think it was a great book! It starts out with a bang (literally) lol, but then Harper meets a man while dancing & never see's his face & falls in love. Eventually, the two meet up & it's a wild ride from their. They both have secrets, and hold back on telling each other. When they eventually open up it's sad, but their love can overcome anything. This is a great love story with great sex scenes! I loved it & highly recommend it to all readers who like this genre! It's a happy book! You laugh, feel sad, feel frisky, feel glad!

Holy cow! This is a debut novel? That's freakin' amazing. I would have never known if I had not been told. Murphy spins a story that draws you in. She is a natural writer. This was a wonderful book. At times it was a little hard to read - *beware there is some sexual violence*... From the first few pages I wanted to know what was going to happen. I cared for these characters...Ryder was very hot. Good book boyfriend material. :)

This was an enjoyable book from the very beginning and I could not put it down.

The characters were interesting and the story was awesome. From the very beginning you had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen.

I am looking forward to reading more about this awesome characters and the opportunity to experience more of the wonderful writing of V. Murphy.

Enjoyable

This was a great book. The way the author portrayed each character was amazing. When Harper was feeling pain it was almost as if I felt her pain, too. I really enjoyed seeing Ryder getting Harper to open up and begin to let go of the pain. You could feel the emotions between these two as if you were in the room with them. I can't wait for the next book about Skye!

Two tormented souls needing the love they truly desire! But will their secrets keep them from achieving the love they both deserve? I read this book in one afternoon and I have to say I could not put it down. I had to finish it and I am glad I did! Looking forward to other books from this author.

I absolutely loved this book. I started it late last night and finished it just now. I couldn't put it down today. Ryder is a hawty!!! I am glad that they both were able to open up and let go of their pasts and trust enough to start a future together. Would love to hear Moreno Ryder & Harper!

This was a great book. I really liked the connection that Harper and Ryder had with each other and their chemistry. Can't wait for another book. Hope it's more on them and how they are doing in the future and how things turn out for them. That would be awesome:)
