THE TINGWELL AND PITT FAMILY FEUD
Once you start reading of the adventures of
these fearless men who made up the great Texas Rangers, you'll never be satisfied. This author's descriptions and descriptive writings will have you in stitches. He describes in detail using the southern dialect or you could say that's how they spoke during those days. Dropping vowels, spelling as these people deciphering words that they understood or wondered where these words originated..That's a WOW MOMENT.
It's folkloric and goodness graces some parts of our southern states(rural areas) below that Mason Dixie Line you'll undoubtedly hear this type of speech(no disrespect intended).
Texas Rangers Lucius 'By God' Dodge and Randall Bozworth Tatum(Boz) are fearless law men of the wild wild Texas Territory attacked their assignments with on the spot analytical thinking.
These two Texas Rangers who would asked the help of retired Rangers for their assistance arresting or transporting prisoners.
This author's descriptions of how Lucius felt about young ladies he met and how they stole his heart. Such descriptions were truly poetic beautiful and you actually felt his pain and ardor. After he retired, he stilled visited the grave of his Ruby Black, a young red headed beauty with brilliant turquoise eyes who every time she looked at him, his knees became wobbly and he floated the rest of the day. Now you know that's dangerous in his line of work; your mind is else where instead of on your job at hand, could cause your death and your partners..
I still love these men, lawmen through and through no give, you aim at them and your dead.

J Lee Butts has become one of my favorite western writers. Marshall Dodge is as good a story series as Marshall Tilden.

One more time a great read!
I so enjoyed the first book in the series book that I went on to book two. I was unable to put down book two so now I will download start number three.
