I must say I really enjoyed this series. Carly Phillips is a funny good read. This series is a bit steamier than some others but funny, romantic, sexy and slightly suspenseful.

Love Me if You Dare was a cute read for me. It has the action I thrive for and romance that I crave. We meet Sara and Rafe in book two of the Most Eligible Bachelors series. Sara is a headstrong character and is having a hard time staying in one spot. She was taken out of her job due to injuries and Rafe has come in as her unofficial protector.

These two clicked immediately and Sara falls for all the little details about Rafe. This book will show you the passion and the way these characters fall for each other was exciting. I love all books that Carly has written and her series I can easily get addicted to. Love Me If You Dare is great for a weekend read!

I was hoping that I'd like this book more than I did the first one...and for a while in the beginning I thought I was going to enjoy, but then it slipped down to just average. It just didn't hit the right spots for me.

Series Note:
Second book in Phillips' "Bachelor Blogs" series. Possibly a standalone, but the setup is introduced in book 1.

Summary:
Sara Rios and Rafe Mancuso were once partners on the police force who had a lot of unspoken chemistry between them, but Rafe transferred to hostage negotiation. The two reunite to do some off-duty security work at a charity auction. Things go wrong and Rafe is stabbed and Sara injures her knee. The situation puts Rafe in the spotlight and earns him a spot in the Bachelor Blog.

To escape the notoriety - and the reminder of his feelings for Sara - Rafe goes back to his small hometown for some rest and recuperation. But Sara also finds herself in the spotlight, which is not a good thing when she's supposed to be lying low since she's the star witness at an upcoming murder trial. So she chases after Rafe, hoping he'll help keep her safe. The situation forces them to confront their feelings for each other. Rafe hopes their can be a future for them, but Sara is seriously commitment-phobic and she'll have to do some major reevaluating of her life before she can give Rafe what he wants.

Review:
I don't know whether it's that these light, beach-read type contemporary romances just don't do it for me anymore, or whether it was this book that didn't work for me. Either way, it was just an average read that mostly bored me, but didn't slip into "this book sucks" realm.

The first little bit seemed promising and I thought I was going to enjoy the book. I liked the chemistry between Sara and Rafe and the situation they found themselves in. It had a lot of potential to develop into a nice romance. But Phillips lost me along the way.

I got tired of Sara's commitment phobia. For someone who seemed so smart, she was dumb about relationships. I just got tired of her "it didn't work for them, it didn't work for them...so obviously it doesn't work for ANYBODY." Plus, it was such a typical, over-used romantic conflict that had nothing to set it apart from everything else out there. I wanted more from these two characters.

But that wasn't where the book lost me. It was the "plot." I liked the part about Sara being the target of hitmen because of the trial she was to testify in and I thought that would be the focus of the book...instead, this weird, sort of slap-stick storyling jumps of that had me rolling my eyes and thinking "good grief." It deals with Rafe's uncle procuring Canadian Viagra for his buddies as a secret side-venture...then somehow, a big-time drug dealer finds out and sends two of his goons to "convince" the uncle to start getting harder drugs and using the uncle's business trucks to ship them. It was so ridiculous. The whole thing had me shaking my head and totally bored. It was a weird aspect to the book.

Then there was a lot of focus on Rafe's brother's marital problems which took time away from what I wanted to read about. And there's the whole Bachelor Blog thing...

Really, this book didn't work for me much on any level. I had planned to give this one 3 stars, but the more I thought about it, the more the book didn't work for me. So it's a weak 2.5 stars. I'm disappointed in how this series went. I've read a lot of Phillips stuff and I think these two books are by far my least favorites of them bunch.

When hostage negotiator Rafe Mancuso takes a bullet to save Sara Rios, his former partner, his actions make him a bona fide hero--and New York City's newest most eligible bachelor. Then Rafe admits that Sara is much more than just another woman he's rescued. Suddenly, a firestorm of gossip turns him into exactly what he doesn't want to be: the Bachelor Blog's newest hot topic. His only solution is to leave town and get himself out of the spotlight...and sexy, jaded Sara out of his mind.
NYPD officer Sara Rios has Rafe to thank for saving her life, and Rafe to blame for the media chaos surrounding her. She wants to throw herself back into duty at full throttle, but until her injuries heal, she's on leave and in search of her rescuer. From the moment she finds Rafe and meets his large, boisterous family, she's hooked. But mutual attraction doesn't always mean happily-ever-after, and these two have a long way to go to find their fairy-tale ending....
Rafe and Sara are held up in Rafe's hometown, keeping Sara guarded until her testimony comes up in a
murder trial. But When hostage negotiator Rafe Mancuso takes a bullet to save Sara Rios, his former partner, his actions make him a bona fide hero--and New York City's newest most eligible bachelor. Sara has never been one to sit quietly idle. Rafe tries to keep her busy. As the story unfolds, Carly
brings her unique magic and weaves it into the story. Another of my favorites. 5 stars.

This is the second installment of the Bachelor Blog series. At first I thought I was going to like the first book better. However, towards the end of the book, my opinion changed. I think that Sara and Rafe had a bit more chemistry as a couple than Coop and Lexie.

Either way I'm a Carly Phillips fan thanks to both books.

In the second novel of this duet, we meet Officers Rafe Mancuso and Sara Rios, his former partner, in the middle of a black-tie auction, where they are taking down a jewelry thief. Rafe takes a bullet that it meant for Sara, which turns him in to a hero and the newest subject of The Bachelor Blog. To heal from his wound and to try to shake the attention of blog, plus his renewed feelings for Sara, Rafe retreats to his hometown.

Sara is a high-profile witness in a case that’s about to start and the attention of the Bachelor Blog is making it tough to keep a low profile. Acquaintances of the suspect keep making threats on her life. Sara sustained her own injuries the night of the auction, so until she’s on her feet again, she’s also on leave. She heads out of town in search of Rafe, to both thank him and to see if he’ll protect her.

Once in Rafe’s hometown, Sara is welcomed in to his large, loud family. As well as the attraction between Rafe and Sara exploded in to something more. The path to happiness isn’t always easy, especially when they are somehow outed by the Bachelor Blog all the way in Rafe’s hometown.

Love Me If You Dare was another winner from Carly Phillips. I really enjoyed this book when it was originally released and enjoyed it just as much when reading the updated version.

I adored Rafe and Sara as a couple, even though they aren't more than ex-partners and friends when Love Me If You Dare begins. I have to say I kinda love that Rafe believes in love more so than Sara and it totally made me fall for him pretty quickly. I somewhat understood Sara's hesitancy when it came to relationships, but not entirely.

I loved how Rafe's family immediately accepted Sara into their world and their family pretty much from the moment they met her. I honestly felt like Sara fell in love with Rafe's family right along with falling in love with him, since it had pretty much just been Sara and her dad for so many years.

I really loved that Rafe and Sara had such a hard time keeping away from each other. They had really wonderful chemistry. Their love making was sexy, sweet and at times down right funny as they both were recovering from injuries and had to work around his chest wound and her bad knee. I love a smoking hot sex scene as much as the next person, but sometime the funny sex scenes just add something to the realism of a story.

Love Me If You Dare was a wonderful read. If you love a romance filled with family, laughter, love, and even a bit of suspense, this is the book for you.

This is one of those books that, overall, I enjoyed. It was a cute, easy read with interesting characters, but I found that while I liked Rafe and Sara I wasn’t all that into their journey to their HEA because it was overshadowed by Nick, Rafe’s brother, and his wife, Angel’s own issues. I simply found what Nick and Angel were going through more interesting than what Rafe and Sara were.

So Rafe and Sara, for the most part I really liked both of them. Rafe is simply a good and honorable man who loves his job and his crazy family, whom he loves deeply but tends to find that small doses of them help him keep whatever sanity he has left. I liked his calm and cool head, but liked that when push came to shove he didn’t mind letting go. I had a bit of a time with Sara. I liked her, she has a good heart, level head and I loved how much her career meant to her, but her cynicism in regards to romantic relationships got a little old. I got where she was coming from, but it didn’t really move me. Thankfully, when it came to friendships, she was much more open and that Sara I really liked. She was genuine and watching her build friendships was fun.

Since I’ve already stated that Rafe and Sara’s journey didn’t thrill me, here’s why It was, for lack of a better word, predictable. While there were a couple of twists I didn’t see coming, their journey was what I thought it would be: Rafe pursuing Sara while she would start to melt and then flip out and put up walls, some of which would be of the ‘foot in mouth’ variety. Had it not been for Nick and Angel I’d have probably been more invested in these. But, I will say that the smexy was hot and that they did fit perfectly together and I liked how things were resolved between them in the end.

The mystery/suspense aspects were interesting and played out well enough. But I loved Rafe’s family, Toni was absolutely my favorite and Pirro and Vi were over the top but definitely kept things lively. This isn’t my favorite book by the author, but still made for an enjoyable read in the end.

Not what I expected but that is meant in the most positive way. It was way better. I like the story line and plot very much. One of the most captivating books I have read from Carly Phillips. It is an amazing read with relatable characters and a plot with twists.
I can give it a four star review because I would have like that Rafe and his wife Sara did not have that big part of the story. But apart from that it is a great read.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Love Me If You Dare is such a great read! The storyline was interesting...two ex-partners finding out who they are individually and what they can be together, in love. This book was a sexy, intriguing read with a touch of mystery just to keep you on your toes! The chemistry between Rafe and Sara is HOT!! The secondary characters in this story were amazing as well and pulled it all together nicely. I was pulled into this book and devoured it in one afternoon!!

I really wanted to like this. I really really did. I just could not like Rafe or Sara. It wasn't engaging enough for me to keep reading. I kept putting my Kindle down and doing other things rather than reading. I enjoyed the other characters in this book more than I did the main two. The issues were built up but resolved so easily. There were a few surprises that I didn't see coming but only a few.

Wow, I really want a Rafe! I love Sara and Rafe together, even if Sara is a lot stubborn. I love that this book had more to it than just romance. It was fun, with a little crime and mystery thrown in. I really wish there was more to this series. #MSBB

Rafe Mancuso gets hurt on the job, he gets shot in the chest on a hostage negotiation while saving his ex partner Sara Rios.

Sara Rios is an NYPD officer and loves and lives for her job. However she has an injured knee that goes out on her during a hostage taken, her becoming the hostage. She is put on leave and recoups at home. However while she is recouping, she is getting threats from a man whom is in prison for killing his wife, and Sara is a key witness. Sara needs to get out of New York and keep a low profile. Her plan is to go and visit Rafe in his summer home and be near his family. His very eccentric family.

Rafe tries to get his dose of family love sporadically since he feels they are a major handful with all of their antics and dramas. For instance his Aunt Vi thinks her husband is cheating on her, however it is not even close to the actual shenanigans he is up to.

Some how Rafe and Sara find themselves in the middle of a huge drug sting, trying to keep Sara on the down low, which doesn't work too well since the two of them are the newest "victims" of the Bachelor blogs.

Can the two of them bring down this big time drug dealer, can they keep Sara save before she has to stand trial, and can these two realize that they are meant to be together?

Great read, fun, entertaining, and a few places that sure made me chuckle out loud. Loved the book and so happy to see Sara and Rafe get what they both want.

I really liked this book by Carly Phillips. This is the story of Rafe and Sara. Rafe is a hostage negotiator for NYPD. Sara was his partner on the force. When she is taken hostage Rafe is the one who takes over and saves her. Now Rafe finds himself as the newest focus on the Bachelor blog...somewhere he doesn't want to be. The attention is to much for him so he heads out of town until this mess blows over. Unfortunately now that Rafe is gone the attention shifts to Sara who is supposed to be keeping a low profile. She knows that she has to disappear as well and the only place she wants to be is with Rafe. Rafe has always had feelings for Sara but didn't think they were returned. The more time they spend together their feelings get harder to hide and they finally give in. Of course trouble isn't too far behind and they must work together to stay alive. Can they make all of this work?

I can't say enough good things about this book...I really enjoyed their story and would recommend it to everyone. Another amazing book by Carly Phillips...well done!!!

I received an advance reader copy of this book.

Rafe Mancuso is a hostage negotiator and saved his former partner Sara Rios. He has now become New York's most eligible bachelor. He was stabbed when he saved Sara in the first book. He goes back to upstate New York to his home town to recuperate. Sara hurt her knee during the hostage situation that Rafe saved her, so she is on medical leave. She is being threatened because she is the main witness in a murder case. She decides to go to Rafe and see if she can stay with him as he makes her feel safe, and she doesn’t think anyone will find her there.

Sara has never wanted a long term relationship as most of the people in her family (all cops) are divorced. So she thinks because she is a cop, she will never be able to get married and have a long term relationship. Rafe feels the opposite and wants a big family. Rafe comes from a big loving family. He has some characters in his family that will make you laugh. Rafe and Sara felt a connection when they were partners at work, but they never acted on it. Now that Sara is staying with Rafe, things heat up. I just loved Rafe and how well he interacted with his family. He was so patient with his family, and especially with Sara. You can tell that Sara loved being around Rafe's family and yearned for something like that but she never had. It was a good story with action, suspense, and romance. I loved catching up with characters from the last book. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Sara Rios is gun shy when it comes to relationships, she's seen too many cop marriages end in divorce. Rafe Mancuso is a real life hero whose most recent save ended up with him being injured. While Sara and Rafe leave town for different reasons, they come together because they can no longer deny the chemistry is explosive between them. While they each try to heal and deal with the dangers continuing to plague them can they find a happily ever after? Or will they be destined to crash and burn? Final book in the series. Worth the read, it's got twists and turns to keep you engaged and Rafe and Sara have definite heat.

I love Rafe and Sara.
Sara was held hostage at the end of the 1st bachelor’s blog series book. Who else better to save her than the man that loves her, Rafe. Rafe took a bullet for Sara. Rafe and Sara have always had a good relationship but the attraction between them is what ended their partnership in the 1st place. Can these two spend time alone together and not act on their feelings? Is Sara’s life being in danger going to ruin the best thing that could happen to this couple? Come read about the lengths Rafe and Sara endure as they try to keep her alive.

Guess you will have to read it to find out. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

This was a great read, full of fun and a large helping of suspense. As it had in Kiss Me If You Can, the Bachelor Blog caused nothing but problems for the main couple.

Sara and Rafe had both been injured at the end of KMIYC, and this book started off just before that so you could see what happened. Both were put on medical leave so they could recuperate from their injuries. Rafe went off to his hometown to rest, and Sara - who needed to be scarce due a case she had been on - followed him in search of protection.

The suspense in this book was fantastic. There were a couple different subplots going on that had me sitting on the edge of my seat and staying up late to read. I loved Rafe's big, boisterous family, and seeing a loner like Sara fit in so seamlessly was heartwarming. Both main characters were smart and strong and willing to do whatever it took to get the job done. The question was whether Sara could do the same in their personal lives.

This author does a fantastic job of making secondary characters loveable, and I always find myself wanting to know their stories as well. I liked how the story touched on Nick and Angel's lives, and Uncle Pirro and Aunt Vi were hilarious. But best of all was Rafe and Sara's strong connection - a connection that went beyond the physical from the very start. These two were great together, and I loved their HEA.

Rafe Mancuso and Sara Rios, one-time partners at the NYPD are back working together for the Lancaster Foundation as Security for an auction. Expecting a quiet easy job, they are surprised by an attempted robbery. While chasing the robber Sara becomes a hostage. The connection between Rafe and Sara is amazing, their trust allows them to work together to apprehend the robber. Unfortunately, they both get hurt. Rafe becomes the NEXT Hottest Bachelor and leaves NY to get away from all the women who want a part of the NEW Bachelor.

Sara is supposed to be keeping a low profile because of an upcoming trial, but she is also being covered on the Hottest Bachelor Blog. She needs to get out of town, and follows Rafe to his hometown. Rafe is the only person Sara trusts to have her back until the trial.

You will meet Rafe's extended family and come to love them. Watch the struggles between Rafe and Sara as they fight their attraction and feelings for each other. Both Rafe and Sara have different views on happily ever after. Only time will tell if they meet in the middle to get their HEA!

I truly enjoyed getting re-acquainted with Rafe and Sara. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I haven't read a book by Miss Phillips that I haven't loved. This story is funny and very sexy. A little bit of suspense.
Sara is a cop who doesn't believe in marriage and love. Her family is proof that cops and marriage don't mix. She re injures her knee during a chase, she's afraid she won't be back to work. Then a man she is supposed to testify against threatens her, she goes to the one man that she knows will have her back. Her ex partner Rafe.
Rafe is a cop and was attracted to Sara but he was engaged at the time so he switched partners. He breaks up with his fiancé and helps Sara with guarding some priceless jewels at an auction. He gets stabbed and Sara stays by his side until he wakes up.
The Bachelor Blogger was at the auction and now Rafe and Sara are the next ones featured in the paper. Sara starts getting threatening mail and decides to go to Rafe's hometown for him to help watch her back. Will Rafe be able to convince Sara that they could work or will she stubborn and not give love a try?

The second story in the Bachelor Blogs series, this is the story of Rafe and Sara. It is a stand alone story but to get the history of Sara and her relationship issues, you will benefit by reading Kiss Me If You Can.

I enjoyed the family part of this story the most. Rafe’s big, loving, nosy, involved family. He left his hometown to get away a little from the family involvement but when the chips were down, that’s where he wanted to be.

Sara had no such ties. She thrived being on her own, not needing anyone. Except she did. She needed her partner, for safety as well as the emotional support. So she followed Rafe.

The chemistry was very real and the friendship was one to treasure. The suspense involved due to Sara’s predicament added a little something to the story but by far, the best part was Rafe’s family.

Definitely an early Carly Phillips story but still...IT’S CARLY PHILLIPS!!!! Read both of the books for a light afternoon reading...

Second book in the Bachelor Blog series. Now it's Sara's turn from book one. Coop's BFF, competent cop with a girly off-duty side. I like the story, the constant motion, problems & conundrums our two main characters face. Their recoveries from injuries sustained in book one, her appearance in the Bachelor Blog, her upcoming trial, his family. You can't say you were bored with this read.
Coop made an appearance without Lexie. And although Lexie's grandma was asked about, she didn't show up much to my disappointment. However the characters that are Rafe's family were entertaining, funny, & embarrassing enough to make up for missing "Lucy & Ethel" from book one!
Loved this book, glad it was re-released!

Received an ARC for an honest review.

I loved Rafe and Sara so much! Ever since they were partners, there was a chemistry with the two of them. When Sara is instructed to keep a low profile, she follows Rafe up to his family's small town. Add in a meddling family, an uncle with a "unique" extracurricular activity, and a touch of danger and Phillips has created a great story.

Their biggest obstacle was Sara. She was convinced that there was no way to have a fulfilling relationship coming from a long line of cops with failed relationships. Rafe had an uphill battle in convincing her to give them a shot. It was fun to watch them fumble around each other.

My favorite part though was Nick and Angel...Rafe's brother and his wife were a great addition to the story.

This novel had a lot going on and not in a bad way. We had the main love story with good chemistry with the two main characters. There was a lot of background provided between them, which made the love connection seem believable. We really saw the caring and characteristics and growth in the characters. For me, what really took this novel up was the extra storylines. We had the continuation of the Bachelor Blog, a little action with the uncle storyline, and an additional love story. This was more than enough to keep a reader going.

This is the second in the Bachelor Blog duet, but can be read as a stand-alone.
Sara and Rafe were partners in the New York Police Department. They had a lot of chemistry and worked very well as a team. Rafe chose to change jobs to get out of temptation, since he was engaged. Shortly after that the engagement ended.
Fast forward a bit and Sara was injured in the line of duty and needs a to testify against an accused murderer. She is supposed to lie low while she recuperates, but a simple security job turns into a jewel heist and hostage situation.
They both go to Rafe's small home town and all that simmering chemistry comes to the forefront. Even in Hidden Falls danger lurks. Will they survive the danger and can Rafe make Sara understand they could live happily ever after?

I was excited that Sara and Rafe were going to get their story told. When we met them at the end of the Bachelor Blog book 1, I knew there was more than a friendship going on there. I felt like Sara had a lot of the same relationship issues that our heroine in the first book had. Sara doesn't believe that marriage is forever and cops can't have a good marriage. Rafe has been drawn to Sara for a long time, but knows how she feels about relationships. When Sara comes to Rafe because she is in danger, he is hoping that the close proximity will break down her walls. This was a good story with a little bit of mystery and intrigue thrown in, too. Good read in this series.

Sexy, Sweet, Entertaining, Emotionally thrilling romantic adventure with two people that have been fighting an attraction for far to long.

Rafe Mancuso is all sexy, hot alpha male with a need to protect. He is a hostage negotiator and NYPD officer Sara Rios's former partner. Sara is a sassy, sexy and independent female not really looking for forever but might have just stumbled into it anyway. Loved all the heart pounding action and emotional twists. Was a greatly entertaining afternoon in the backyard sipping a cold beverage (or two) reading.

I'd read this book years ago in paperback and loved re-reading it. Sara and Rafe made great working partners. He asked for a transfer because he always had feelings for her and didn't want to act on them since he was engaged. Now they are both single. She needs a place to hide out before giving her testimony in an upcoming trial. He's recovering in his hometown after getting hurt protecting Sara. I loved all the crazy characters...Uncle Pirro, Nick, Angel, BIff LOL...the scene with Uncle Pirro, Lopez and the shoes. I love that you could feel the chemistry right off the bat with them.
