A thrilling story with a lesson for YA readers!
"One lesson you have yet to learn, Owen, is that sometimes it's okay to take time to enjoy what's important, and to see what makes up the wonderful world in which you live."
Very nice, fast-paced, thrilling and mesmerizing YA fiction, including superb fantasy and sci-fi.
This 2nd book of the Everville series lived up to our expectations and even surpassed them. I was really glad to read the Keeper's or the author's wise psychological insights at the end of the book. There, the Keeper spoke to Owen about the aim of suffering, the cost of achievement or victory, good versus evil across different times (future and past) and civilizations with their respective metamorphoses etc. In other words, some most important things in life in this world of our humankind.
The style of the narrative is perfected, adorable and digestible.
By all means, you will enjoy this read, regardless of your age!
