I'm going through a phase right now and am fascinated by government so this was a fantastic read. It goes into great detail but is written so that a fourth grader could understand it which is good since my wife and friends believe that I actually am a fourth grader more often than not. I caught a few 1950s-style jingoistic rah-rah America moments but they were kept to a surprising minimum and I was really pleased with how well it holds up. Good stuff.

Nearly full "partial preview" at google books. Check it out simply for the illustrations! ")

Wow, this book looks so cool. And $1 at DI! It breaks the Constitution down, phrase by phrase, and explains it with simple language. And the index rocks. Sooo important in a non-fiction book. I haven't even read it and I want to give it 5 stars! If you'd like to borrow it, friends, let me know.

Good for a grade-schooler. Insufficient commentary for anyone older.
