Can I have this dance? I loved this story. I read it in just over 24 hours! I would have loved to be in the dance between Graham and Blaine! Two strong men and one very strong woman! This is the second full novel in the Ashwood Falls series, be sure to read the prequel and book #1 first - Winter Eve and A Tiger's Claim. In A Mating Dance we continue to get to know the members of the Ashwood Falls pack we met in the first two stories. We are introduced to a few new characters in this story - Addy, Graham, Sable. And now a little bit about the story ...
Cam and Blaine have been dancing around each other for 16 years. She had gotten pregnant during her first heat cycle, but had lost the baby several months later. She was so scared of losing another child she had been afraid to commit to Blaine. In the mean time Graham Griffin, Nevan Matthew's stepbrother, has come to town to redesign the nursery and school. Graham is shocked by his attraction to Cam - he has never been attracted to a female before. His attraction to Blaine is less of a mystery. Can the three of them make it work? Will Blaine (a very strong alpha male) accept another male into his relationship? When two children are rescued from the rogue Onyx pack, Graham is excited to be reunited with his lover's children - but worried what happened to their father. Give this book a try to see what happens next!
Favorite passage: ... he'd been forced to rely on his charm. Which, as Cam would have put it, was like a wet cat trapped inside of a plastic bag.
Keep looking for Surrendering to the Alpha - the next book in the Ashwood Falls series!
I love the Ashwood series and I was really looking forward to reading Cam and Blaine's story. The introduction of Graham into the mix just made the story better. Cam is such a strong heroine, an enforcer, and a alpha on her own, but emotional pain from her past and fear of committing to a dominant male has held her back from completing the mating with Blaine. I loved getting to see the softer side of Cam in A Mating Dance with the addition of Graham's adopted children, Sammie and Max. Those two were SO cute! I fell in love right along with Cam. I also really enjoyed seeing Blaine figuratively let down his hair a little bit.Grahams beta, but strong personality is the perfect foil and needed element to the relationship with the two alphas. I highly recommend A Mating Dance. It is a dance truly worth the read!
I’m just going to include the blurb from this one as it sets-up the story quite well:
Senior enforcer, Cameron Nickels has found her perfect mate. Blaine Andrews, leopard Pack Marshal, is strong, dominate, loyal, and passionate. He knows all her strengths and weaknesses—not to mention her pleasure points. Cam’s known Blaine most her life, but she’s always felt like something was missing and her jaguar refuses to fully accept him. Yet, she can’t walk away from him. When architect and sexy mountain lion shifter, Graham Griffin, comes to town to design the new den nursery and school, Cameron finds herself in a mating dance that throws her and her jaguar into flight mode while Blaine must decide if he can not only share his mate, but welcome another.
After his lover walked out on him a year ago, Graham has no intentions of entering another relationship any time soon. But he realizes that the fates have other plans for him when he meets Blaine and Cameron. When his ex-lover’s children are chased into Ashwood territory by a group of rogues, he discovers the male he shared a life with had died freeing the kids from the Onyx Pack. Graham must work side-by-side with the two enforcers to uncover lies from the past while his heart opens to his true mates.
A M/M/F shifter story, I couldn’t resist this one. Overall, this one worked well for me. Cam and Blaine are mates, yet after suffering a miscarriage, it makes Cam very wary to fully bond with Blaine, not wanting to put herself nor Blaine through that kind of pain again. When she meets Graham, her jaguar becomes very interested in him.
I enjoyed the fact that in this shifter culture, being attracted to the same sex is fully accepted. Graham and Blaine realize their attraction, they act on it (rawr!) and then both realize they want Cam, and both realize they will have to act delicately to not scare her away. This threesome worked quite well for me – I believed in the attraction between each person.
I have two frustrations. One, is that there were so many characters introduced, that I had a hard time remembering each one and their role in the pack. It was confusing and drew me out of the story.
Secondly, I felt the sex scenes in this book were rushed through. Being a ménage, and with two men and Graham and Cam, having never been together physically before, I wanted more detail and depth in the sex scenes. Emotions could have been analyzed more, and darn it. I love sexy shifter ménage scenes and I wanted them longer. So I was disappointed there.
I liked the characters and the suspense though and I’ll try the next one.
A Mating Dance was the one book in the series that I was waiting for the most and I was not disappointed. It was definitely my favorite of the series so far.
Cam and Blaine were a great couple. They were so cute together and I loved how they interacted with each other. I loved that they had been together since Cam was a teenager but at the same time it was sad to read the reason Cam wasn't able to fully commit to Blaine. It made me love Blaine that much more that he never gave up on her. Cam was such a strong and loving heroine and my heart ached for her. Blaine was so protective and possessive of Cam but loving with her at the same time and I loved how he supported her being an enforcer. It was so much fun getting to learn more about them as a couple and individually.
I wasn't sure how I felt about Graham being introduced into Cam and Blaine's relationship as they were already an established couple. Especially after the fact that Graham and Blaine where together the first time without Cam. I thought Cam handled this fine as it didn't seem to bother her but it bothered me and I wished that the first time they were all together as a trio instead. But it all worked out and led to some very hot and steamy sex scenes~so I really can't complain and in the end I loved them as a trio and loved that Graham was the missing part of them.
I love menage stories but I'm always nervous in a trio of 1 person being left out, especially when 2 of them are already a couple and when the 2 men are attracted to each other also. But Lia Davis did a great job with Blaine, Cam and Graham and I didn't feel like anyone was left out. And I have to admit that the scene with Blaine and Graham alone was smokin' hot!! :) I loved the scene when all three finally cemented the mating bond. It was hot, intimate, fun and loving. I also loved that Lia didn't drag out their mating and they formed their trio pretty easily without a lot of unnecessary drama.
I loved the addition of Sammie and Max to the story and how Max bonded instantly with Cam. Blaine trying to win them over was so cute!! I'm looking forward to more and can't wait to read the impact of Keegan going away with Addyson will ultimately have on Blaine, Cam and Graham as well as the other pack members. I'm also interested in reading more about the developing relationship between Keegan and Addyson. So good!!
It was my pleasure to read A Mating Dance and I'm looking froward to so much more from Lia Davis. This is a definite keeper for me. 4 out of 5 rating!

What can I say about A Mating Dance by Lia Davis? Just that is was absolutely fantastic. Lia is just amazing. I was hooked with Winter Eve, but with A Mating Dance, I am obsessed with the residents of Ashwood Falls. She writes about some very, very hot shifters...LOL A Mating Dance is about three feline shifters who find that they are mates for each other. Two of the felines have been together for years and now enters and unexpected, but welcomed third mate. It turns out that not only is the relationship what they need, but it is what the pack needs too. The triad relationship is made up of Cameron, a jaguar enforcer and mate to Blaine; Blaine, the alpha's son and heir and also the leader of the packs enforcer; and the new comer Graham, a mountain lion shifter who is the brother-in-law to the feline healer of the pack. Cameron and Blaine are both very dominant cats, but feel completed when Graham comes into the relationship because he is a beta and calms them. In no way is Graham less stubborn because of being a beta. Oh no. He shows his mated that he can more than hold his own with them. The relationship between the three is so well written that I had to take several breaks to catch a breath not only for the hot loving, but also from the connection they all felt emotionally. Lia is just amazing at getting those feelings across to her readers. I found that she made Cam a very strong female, but also allowed her to show her nuturing side without taking away from that strength. What amazed me was that she had Blaine initiate the triad with Graham fist instead of using Cam. In fact the first love scene was between the guys and so very well written. I liked how she had the guys convince Cam that their relationship would work and be so very good for them all. Aside from the hot relationship, the Ashwood Pack continues to battle the Onyx Pack. The Onyx pack is made up of rogues and mutants who want to go back to the old ways of life. The fights between both packs are always fast and furious. I gritted my teeth and gripped my Kindle hard each time there was a fight scene. All in all, I really loved A Mating Dance. I don't want to spoil the book for other readers because it's not out yet. I was lucky enough to receive a copy for review from Lia before it was made public. I read it in one day and had a grin on my face for hours afterwards. Lia only has a handful of books published but I envision a very successful writing career for her. I may not be in the publishing business, but after reading romances for close to 30 years, I think I know a great author when I read one...LOL
The third book in the Ashwood Falls series is as captivating as the first two. It has suspense, action, romance, family, and a triad.
Cam and Blaine have been in the mating dance for years, but Cam’s jaguar was just not ready for that final step. Then Nevan’s mountain lion brother, Graham, comes to Ashwood Falls to help design the new nursery and school and the attraction between the three scorch the pages as the author conveys the emotions and chemistry involved in becoming a triad.
Strong and engaging characters draw the reader into the story as the suspense and action build. The pack continues to fight against their enemies and to protect everyone is their pack. Everyone also joins Cam and Blaine and try to help Graham’s adopted children get over the trauma of being held captive by the mutant rogues and losing their father.
The author has created a strong community for these shifters and the reader is completely enchanted with their lives. The author describes the battles and the romance between the characters with vivid clarity and once I picked up the book, I could not put it down until I was finished. I do wish the stories were longer and some things expanded a little more, but this in no way takes away from this intriguing world.
This is a great book. My favorite so far in the Ashwood Falls series, but I have has a soft spot for Blaine since I read Winter's Eve. Blaine, Graham, and Cam are so good together. I love how Lia develops this triad. I couldn't put this book down. Very excited for Keegan's book too!! Great job. I highly recommend this series to anyone.
Cameron and Blaine have known each other for most of their lives. Blaine has known Cam is his mate and Cam recognizes Blaine as well. So why can't the finish the bond? For some reason Cameron's jaguar will not fully accept Blaine. Something is missing in the relationship. In book 1 we meet Graham and his ex-lovers children. These kids know Graham and Graham loves them like his own. He will do anything to keep them safe. The Onyx pack did the worse thing you can to a shifter, gave them no touch or contact. The children are touch starved and have some pretty big mental issues to over come. Graham has the patience and the love for these kids to get them through it. But when Graham meets both Cam and Blaine, he knows he belongs with them. How can he come in between 2 people who have been lovers and mates for years? And why have they not finished the bond? Can they work together to find out what the Onyx pack is up to? Grahams ex lover would never just leave his children, so where is he? The 3 could make something magical or it could be there undoing!
I really enjoy the Ashwood Falls series. The characters are love able, the action intense and the connection between the characters is magical. Cam and Blaine are a couple but Blaine doesn't understand why Cam's cat has not bonded with him. He doesn't understand until Graham enters the picture. Graham throws a wrench into there lives. He doesn't mean too and will walk away if it causes issues with the kids. I really LOVE Graham. He loves those kids like his own and would die to protect them. What a wonderful series! Thanks for the great read and I can't wait for the next one! complimentary book given for a free review. juliesbookreview.blogspot.com
HOLY HOT SHIFTERS!!!!!!!!!! Man oh man Lia has rocked the house with this book. I mean DAM I could not read fast enough because I love me some shifter stories but Lia has this way with writing that grabs you and keeps you there. Her descriptions of the characters and the places and lord the action had me at the edge of my seat wanting no needing more.
Cam has found her mate. He is perfect for her in every way. He is gorgeous, smart, loyal and passionate. So why then does she feel empty? She feels this emptiness that she can't explain and she knows she is ready to settle down and be with her mate Blaine who is an ALPHA male all the way but she needs something. Blaine is determined to give Cam anything she wants and he will wait for her to be ready because he loves her and he wants her.
So when the new Architect Graham comes to town to build a new nursery and school everyone is excited. The minute Cam sees him her mating call goes off and she realizes what she has been missing and longing for. Only problem is will Blaine accept another man into their relationship? Well there is something else to because Graham has sworn off dating because his lover left him over a year ago and he is still reeling from a heart break. Graham can't deny the attraction he feels towards Cam and Blaine but he is still guarded. But soon something happens that brings the three together and they will have to work together in order to save the pact as well as the children. Will they come together and fight along side each other or will Graham just leave with his broken heart?
The incredible world that Lia has created in Ashwood Falls includes many great characters. The author gave all of the characters plenty of depth, but what I admired most about them was the amount of veneration that existed between Blaine, Graham and Cameron. However, it is the dialogue and vivid descriptions that complement the characters that make this author’s stories increasingly desirable. The relationships in this book are m/f, m/m and m/f/m.
Cameron is a very strong female but she also suffered a loss she had trouble getting over,i loved seeing her softer side with little Max. Blaine is her mate but she still feels that something is missing until she meets Graham but she is unsure if she she wants one mate let alone two, so both males join forces to convice her otherwise. Blaine is very Alpha male and next in line to be Alpha but even though he is frustrated with Cameron he doesn't want to push her to far. Then there is Graham who has only ever been with males but is feeling the attraction to Cameron then meets Blaine and feel the same attraction. And so the mating dance between the three begins while taking care of emotional children that had been held captive, mutant fights, each of them ending up in medical at some point, a kidnapping and trying to see if a triad can work between them. Also enjoyed the slight insight into the Alpha Keegan,Addyson and 2 other characters which has me wanting to read more about them.
Hot shifters, romance, chemistry, mystery, and a shifter world like no other..... what is there not to love? I fell in love with this series while reading the prequel and find my self stalking her FB page waiting for each new book. This book features Cameron. She is smart, brave, and strong. She is also a bit broken by a loss she has not been able to truly move on from. Blaine is a strong alpha type male and is willing to fight for and be patient with his mate, even if she is still not able to commit to him completely after years. When Graham shows up, everything changes. Action, mystery, and adventure add to this love story with a less than traditional mating. If you love hot shifter reads, this book is probably for you. You do not have to have read the first books in this series to understand this book, but it will make the story much more enjoyable, especially with the large group of reoccurring characters and the background of Ashwood Falls Pack.
Wow, This book is hot and I do mean hot. Lia Davis out did herself on this one. But I highly recommend reading Winter's Eve before you read A Mating Dance. This book is a M/M/F menace between Blaine, Cam and Graham. I immediately fell in love with Blaine, whom we met in Winter's Eve, definitely an Alpha male, a shifter whom was completely loyal to his pack, protective, strong, determined but also had a softer side that was compassionate, understanding, great with kids. Blaine and Cam were mates but had not bonded yet once Graham and his dead boyfriend's children came into the picture things changed. This was a great book that was not only hot but had suspense as well. I highly recommend! My review can be found at http://booksbooksmorebooks.blogspot.c...
Cam Nickels a jaguar and Blaine Andrews a leopard have been in the mating dance for a couple of years but she wont commit to bond, especially after losing something precious to them both. They both feel something is missing. In comes Graham Griffin a mountain lion who has never been with a woman and joins their mating dance to bonding.
A Mating Dance was great, with lots of action in and out of bed ;). Had some hot scenes and good humor. A really good read and I can't wait for the next one.
"4 out of 5 stars! Three people find their perfect counterparts, if only they can protect each other and their growing family before it's too late. I was thoroughly intrigued by this novel and it got me very curious as to see where this series will go."
Cameron and Blaine have been dancing around each other for several years. Though they know they are mates, things from the past keep them apart, that and the fact that they know something else is missing.
Graham isn't looking for a relationship. He just doesn't think he is ready. Fate has other things or people in mind.
Can Blaine, Cameron and Graham get past all the past hurts and move on to future that they all deserve?
This is an excellent story about finding love, old and new and creating a future. I love the interaction with Cam and little Max. The chemistry with Blaine/Cam/Graham is hot and these Guys will stop at nothing to get their mate. I can't wait to see what happens next
Well what to say about this book?..................... Its absolutly brilliant and in my opinion the best one of the series so far. I would deffinatly recomend the ashwood falls series to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance. Cant wait for more
This is book three of the Shifters of Ashwood Falls series and the main characters in this story are Cam (Cameron) Nickels, who is a jaguar shifter and senior enforcer for the Ashwood pack, and her perfect mate Blaine Andrews, the son of the alpha and the pack Marshal. They have known each other since they were kids and knew they were fated mates for the last decade at least, but Cam feels something is quite right and she has put off the full mating bond. They are clearly in a mating dance together, but she and her jaguar won’t commit. It is only when Graham Griffin, an architect and mountain lion shifter, is invited to the pack lands to redesign the nursery and school, that she senses something else. She is having weird feelings that she definitely shouldn’t be since Blaine is her mate, which isn’t helped when he clearly is interested in her as well. Graham finds his feelings for Cam unusual, as he had only ever been interested with men prior to now. His own lover Isaac, walked out on him a year ago, taking his children Sammie and Max with him. He had loved being a parent to the two kids and loved them. Losing them so suddenly and not having any idea why, was a hard pill to swallow.
When Graham sees Blaine as well, he finds himself attracted to him as well. It looks like he is mate to a possible triad, but it will take quite a bit of work to get both of them to realise this! Matters are about to get more complex for them, as Graham’s ex-lover’s children are found hiding in the woods near the pack lands, pursued by rogues from the Onyx pack. Their father had managed to free them from the prison cells they were being kept in and told them to run and pointed them in the direction of the Ashwood pack. Blaine and Cam were the ones to find them, but they were too terrified to come out with Blaine there and would only came out to Cam, with Sammie forcing Max out with her. Max became almost glued to Cam from an early point and Sammie was very protective of him. When they both saw Graham, they raced to him, having known him as their parent, whilst he was in their life. Their time in captivity sounded horrendous and Graham is unclear what role his ex-lover had in that situation. He goes back to the home they shared to look again for clues, but they are attacked by the rogues who want to keep them from finding out anything Isaac may have left behind.
Cam, Blaine and Graham are slowly getting closer and used to the idea of a triad, helped by some of their elders passing on messages of this being normal and how it would lead to them forming a very powerful bond and how much stronger that will make them. Graham has the loss of his recent past come back to haunt him and is lucky to have Cam and Blaine there to support him. Their trysts are steamy and only increase in intensity as the mating pull solidifies. Sammie and Max are great kids and bring joy to the situation. They have a lot of trauma to deal with and it’s nice to see how the scary Alpha Keegan could help with the scared little Max! Sammie is super intelligent and makes a great friend to young Josie, who sticks to her like glue. Lots went on with little Josie after Shay was brought into her life and ended up helping to save her in a very unusual move. Lots more trouble from the Onyx pack’s rogues and mutant shifters, in the continuing battle for supremacy. A slow build for a continuing storyline in the battle against the Onyx pack and the romances of fated mates. I look forward to seeing whose next. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Another wonderful addition to series, great characters and plot that is riveting reading
It soon becomes apparent that in fact it is necessary that this group need to be in a triad and this would bring them immense happiness and satisfaction and settlement but are the three individuals brave enough to listen to their hears and their needs?
Cam has been putting off mating Blaine for years and this is not because they are not mates but because there is just something missing and this is because they just do not feel complete but are not sure what is actually missing.
Graham who is a leopard shifter has known them all for years and yet had done nothing about the feelings he had but the time has come and it is apparent that as a triad this group will lead their pack members wonderfully.
I guarantee that you will love the interactions between Blaine, cam and Graham and it is obvious that sometimes a mate simply has to wait for their ideal partner to turn up and that when they do their lives as mates are changed forever.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Davis’ ability to world build in the Shifters of Ashwood Falls series is exceptional. With each successive book, the series’s world is more developed and detailed. It is unique. Characters are very well done. The Ashwood Falls shifters are likable and intriguing. And each book adds more characters to the world. This book was the first to add development of one of the enemy, which helped make the story well-rounded. It was also great that the shifters, as a whole, don’t have hangups about same sex relationships or romantic triads. Not gonna lie, I haven’t read a lot of books about romantic triads/MMF menages, but I thought this one was well done.
The breakdown: H/h/H- Blaine, Cameron, and Graham POV- 3rd person Genre- Paranormal Romance Heat level- boiling. Contains M/M, M/F, and MMF scenes Standalone?- N Cliffhanger- Y for series, not for romantic ménage HEA/HFN- Y Triggers- explicit erotic content, violence Tropes- Shifters, Ménage, Fated Mates.

Cameron or Cam to her friends is an enforcer for the clan she has known she belongs to Blaine the Marshall since her first heat at 18, however she couldn't fully commit to Blaine as she felt something was missing. She discovers that when Graham Nevan's brother shows up for Dani and Nevan's mating ceremony yet she feels like she is betraying Blaine but then Blaine turns the tables when he discovers an attraction to the puma himself. This triad comes together when baby Max and his sister are found and brought to the pack.
Once again I loved how Ms. Davis brings together two dominant personalities together with another who can be submissive to them while also taking on a more dominate role when needed. I love this series because it brings together different species of shifters along with some humans and witches.
I voluntarily chose to read a complimentary copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.
I am hooked on these short stories! I can't wait to read more! Onyx is at it again. This time Graham(Nevan's brother), discovers that his ex and his children were kidnapped by them. When the two children escape and come to Ashwood for help they are found by Cameron. She then takes them to the doctor and Graham is called. When Cameron and Graham come into contact he knows that she is his mate, but so is Blaine. Cameron and Blaine have been together for many years but because of a tragedy she refused to fully mate him. Now that there is the possibility of forming a triad mating she is still fighting it. What happens when the men get together to convince Cameron of the fact that they should all be together? What happens when the Onyx rogues and mutants try to retrieve the children?
Blaine and Cameron are mates. That’s undeniable, but Cam doesn’t let Blaine claim her because there is something missing. She is a senior enforcer and he is the Pack Marshall. They are fierceless and fighting to eliminate the threat of the Onyx Pack. Graham lost his partner to the Onyx pack, he is at Ashwood Falls Helping with the education center. Graham is their third, but he comes with package and he has to discover the truth for his ex partner’s disappearance. The Ashwood Falls pack keeps fighting the mutants and this books has lots of that plus drama coming for the Alpha and his Scriber. Cameron takes a while to accept her mates but it all ends up on a happy ending. It’s all rather sexy.
As this world unfolds, I am falling in love with the shifters of Ashwood Falls. This story was about Cam, Blaine, and Graham, and their love, trust, and commitment to each other. Each had their own past to overcome. The world itself was quite violent and threatening, yet the shifters of Ashwood Falls believe in family, protecting the weak, and accepting others, no matter how different they were. I highly recommend this story and series. This was the audiobook version, and I did not want to stop listening. Annika Hart did a wonderful job bringing these characters and their world to life. She did very well with the inflection and emotions of the different shifters.
I received a copy of this audiobook through CBR Services, and this is my unsolicited review.
