Imagine for a moment, your husband leaves you. Then through a bizarre twist of events, you find yourself working with the girl he's left you for - and even worse, she's pregnant...
Louisa’s not really up to any more complicated relationships. Right now, she doesn’t need them. She has good friends, okay, even if one does have a screwed up husband and the other a horoscope habit. Not to mention the ex-husband she’s counselling about the girlfriend he left her for. There you go. So she certainly doesn’t need anyone else with problems at the moment. It would be nice, wouldn’t it, to find a straightforward man, who isn’t remotely screwed up and have some nice, straightforward fun. Nice, straightforward sex too. Now there’s a thought... Well, it’s okay to dream - isn’t it?
Set in the Hampshire countryside against a background of horses and vets, this is a story about friendship and love, and life's way of throwing in the unexpected...
I get being forgiving and mature in the face of infidelity (even if it's something I doubt I'd be capable of) but the blurb makes this doormat h sound like a masochist.
When your cheating husband leaves you for his pregnant mistress, it shouldn't be on you to act as the therapist for BOTH OF THEM. Even if she were cool with doing that, which seems pretty nuts to me, it's actually pretty unethical.
i bought it despite the stupid title, and was very pleasantly surprised If you like horses, and romance and a long story instead of reading 4 installments. then this might be for you.
There are a few grammatical errors in the text, mostly words missing.. but apart from that it's really one of the best free-amamzon-books i've read :)
Here we meet Louisa, who tells her story. I started the book before bed and ended staying up until the early hours as I was so gripped by what was going to happen. It sounded like the sort of life that I would have that what you would think never would happen in the back of beyond did. The story line kept me gripped and I wanted to know more which is why I kept reading. Definitely one to try.
Maybe I should've read more on this one before getting it through Kindle Unlimited, because I wasn't aware it'd have so much to do with horses. If you're a horse fan, you might like it better, as perhaps some of the crises would be more relatable. But in general, I didn't connect all that well with the characters. Still, it was decently written and enjoyable.
Amazing romance novel, I couldn't put it down. I recommend it to everyone who likes a good chick lit novel! I loved the setting (vet practice, so lots of horses, in a small English town), the main and supporting characters, the best friends, the parallel secondary romances...loved everything.
O this book was brilliant. It had so many twists, turns and laugh out loud moments that I could not put it down. This is the first time I have read anything by this author and I would definitely read more of her work. Definitely worth a read.
This was a freebie on Amazon, but what a gem. A book with sympathetic characters in a down-to-earth story. Smart, witty, funny. I caught myself laughing aloud on multiple occasions.
What an interesting read! The title is deceiving, as was the cover -- it was a great novel about friendships, divorce, and new love, and a veterinary practice. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
