It seemed like they had everything, but they didn't have Jack.

Without question Spencer Hartley burns hot for his girlfriend, Rory, but his other desires are hidden down deep. He might blow things up for a living and climb mountains for kicks, but the scariest thing in his life is the truth about his sexuality.

Jack Rothman works hard and plays dirty. After long, demanding days in his family's engineering firm, he indulges in the pleasures of silk restraints and fine wine. Lots of hot meaningless sex helps him forget that he's suffocating, with no one to give him a reason to breathe.

When a catastrophic accident traps Spencer in a flooded subway tunnel with Jack, they need each other to survive. But something strong stirs down there in the darkness, and it's more than their desperation to live. There's a spark between them that's impossible to ignore.

Rory Campbell would love to give Spencer the one thing he doesn't have, the freedom to explore his secret desires. But how does that fit into her picture-perfect relationship? When Jack invites the couple to his sprawling Hamptons beach house, Rory realizes that she has secret desires of her own—the kind only Jack's Dominant hand across her bare bottom can satisfy...

Reader contains m/m/f ménage, spanking, dominance and submission play, light BDSM, and male/male love elements

Sweet mother of sexytimes...
There was an undeniable energy - sexual tension, even - but neither seemed to know what to do with it. Rory could count herself as number three in the confusion. How do you let your boyfriend know that you're OK with him experimenting with another man?
This is an MMF romance where an established couple brings a third party into their relationship. It's a tricky dynamic to work with, but Alyssa Turner nailed it.

You know I'm a total MMF whore!
I'm practically a connoisseur at this point, so I know what I'm talking about. ;)

Let me go ahead and assure you that there's no cheating in this story - that happens all too often when a third party is brought into a relationship, but this was a group effort. That's not to say that there aren't varying degrees of fantasy and lust as the sexual tension rises between these characters... and oh man, when they finally give in to the sexual chemistry that's staring them in the face... Holy Mother of Melting Kindles!

HOT HOT HOT!

Jack Rothman
A self-affirmed man-whore, he was; a hypocrite, he was not, at least not in his personal life. He was blunt and merciless about what his intentions were and were not. He had no intention of falling in love, or getting hurt.
[...]
But Jack could admire the love of others from afar.
Hello heartthrob! Jack is a consultant for his father's engineering firm & he's got a huge chip on his shoulder. His upbringing left him determined to function in life without love. He's not even one-hundred percent how to give or receive that kind of affection, although he seems to seek it out without realizing it.

He's immediately drawn to Spencer Hartley, the hunky demolitions expert working with him on a lucrative subway project in NYC. That lust burns even brighter when he sees how much love and honest devotion exists between Spencer and his girl Rory.

Spencer doesn't set out to separate the couple or consciously seduce them, I think he's far more interested in being in close proximity to their warmth - well, at first - And, you know, if things get a little wild, so be it :)

Spencer Hartley
Spencer couldn't have been more in love with her. The smile on his face couldn't have been more alluring. He was just the type of guy Jack couldn't resist.
Spencer is hopelessly in love with Rory. He's just about ready to pop the question, but two things are holding him back:
(1) They definitely need more money coming in before they can plan a wedding.
(2) There's some little feeling in the back of Spencer's mind that he doesn't quite know what to do with... It's an itch he can't quite scratch - one that has him on edge due to a troubling childhood memories...

The solution to both problems arises in the form of Jack Rothman - the prick consultant on Spencer's newest job. When a twist of fate finds the two men spending unexpected [and intense] quality time together, a friendship begins to grow and an attraction begins to simmer...

Rory
She was independent and strong, with an intellect only rivaled by her innocence. Curiosity radiated from her, and he was certain there was plenty she wanted to experience - only she'd not yet had the opportunity, For all her professed sexual confidence, Rory was as vanilla as the came. At least so far.
Rory is working on her Masters degree in Psychology with a focus in human sexuality. She's plenty open to all kinds of kinks (in theory), but she's never really had the opportunity to indulge her curiosity.

Rory and Spencer are content in their relationship - they have a healthy sex life and things are going just fine... Until Jack Rothman shows up and throws them wonderfully off balance.

Spencer might not feel like he can give voice to his urges, but Rory is a smart girl, she has him figured out, and she's got no problem letting her boyfriend experiment sexually with another man... Of course Spencer isn't going to come out and ask...

Not to worry, Jack is perfectly happy taking control in the bedroom!
That's right folks! We've got MMF with a dash of D/s!

The heat factor is OFF THE CHARTS on this one.
Mouthwatering.
Spare panties recommended.

Jack brings a dominance into their relationship... Something that Spencer and Rory didn't even realize was lacking until it was staring them straight in the face.

Surrendering control means that Spencer doesn't have to ask to indulge in his secret desires...

Rory discovers a freedom in submission that she never knew was possible...

Jack gains an emotional connection - maybe for the first time in his entire life...

When lust and friendship grow into something utterly addictive, how do you stop?

I think one of the great strengths of this story is the infusion of raw emotion - not angst, I'm talking honest introspection. Anyone can write a panty-melting threesome, it takes talent to write a Romance with three parties involved.

I loved that even as Rory and Spencer were working out their feelings about Jack, their relationship was still rock solid. Neither party felt like the other was going to leave them for Jack, I don't think it ever even crossed their minds. All the love was there... They just had to decide if their was enough room in their harts for the man who wound up in their bed...

I was blissfully overwhelmed with lust, and then pleasantly surprised by how much LOVE was in this story.

The relationship wasn't without conflict - all three of the MCs have family members that will have you raging at your book. Jack's dad in particular deserves a swift kick or two... There's a lot working against these three and it was a joy to watch them figure out how to navigate their relationships with each other.

I'm not sure who tipped me off to this book originally, but Baby reminded me of it. I'm so glad she did because I needed a good to excellent m/m/f book after my last forgettable foray. I can't believe it took me so long to read this!

This story has great characters, pacing, and story arch. Even the conflict was believable! None of that contrived nonsense that annoys me so.

 photo giphy_zpslrd48qmk.gif

Just in case you haven't figured it out there are girl bits.

Rory and Spencer are an established couple. They've been together 3 yrs or so. They are gaga over each other and that doesn't change, but Spencer has a secret that is holding him back from popping the question.

Rory is no dummy. She's well aware of Spencer's "secret", but she's having a hard time finding a way to address it without freaking Spencer out.

Enter Jack.

Jack is very prickly, truth be told. He comes across as an entitled brat born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He is exceptionally good at manipulating people and a self proclaimed "man whore". Underneath all the bravado he struck me as lonely and isolated. His father is a fuckwit and uses him horribly. He has no friends. Really all he has is a job he hates working for his father who undermines him at every turn, but it does serendipitously pair him with Spencer.

He and Spencer survive a harrowing experience that put them in a flooded tunnel for more than 6 hrs. They bond and the first stirrings of desire begin. It so happens that Rory is instrumental in saving them and waits above ground. The triangle starts to come together shortly thereafter and ignites once Jack invites them to his Hamptons house as a show of gratitude.

Turns out Spencer's not the only one with a secret. Jack's dominance awakens something in Rory that I don't think she even knew was there. Spencer is a natural sub. I believe I've made my feels clear on this subject.

It's SO HOOOOOTTTTT!!!!

 photo tumblr_mdujxnH2mu1rv63c0o2_500_zpsamyvmn6g.gif

That kitchen scene...
*grunts*
I'll never look at a pot rack the same again.

Then the shit hit the fan.

Of course it did.

I would've been pissed too. I'm glad they waited for Jack to make the first move because he screwed the pooch and he... no, I needed him to be the one to grovel.

These characters are well constructed and the pacing of the story is such that I devoured this thing in a day. With my recent outbreak of reading ADHD devouring a 350+ pg book in a day is damn near a seminal event.

There are touching side stories with Rory's and Jack's family and I thoroughly enjoyed the BDSM discovery and how it affected both Spencer and Rory, but by far I think Jack's progression/transformation was the most compelling.

If you like m/m/f ménage stories you should give this a go.

A Hearts On Fire Review

FOUR STARS--Alyssa Turner's "Polished" is one steamy, polyamory novel featuring an established MF couple, Spencer and Rory, that love each other and have a healthy sex life. They are in love and so vanilla. But there seems to be something holding them back from realizing their full desires. In Spencer's case, he knew what it was but was afraid to share and let it out of the closet. As for Rory, she didn't even know what was missing until she had a taste.

Of what?

Mr. Jack Rothman.

He's disillusioned, disenchanted and jaded. He's wealthy, should be on top of the world but is empty inside. He sleeps with many different people, gender no preference for him. He likes to control in the bedroom and for as long as a scene lasts, he feels some semblance of feeling. But he yearns for more. He's being used by his father (a despicable man, let me tell you) but Jack wants approval from his slug if a father. His father even tries to loan Jack out to the lecherous NYC mayor for a contract...how vile is that?

Thankfully, a fluke accident with Spencer on a construction job jumpstarts both men's lives for the sexually positive. (Don't worry there is no cheating)

Thanks to Jack, this book went from 3 to 4 stars. Jack brought the needed spice to make this vanilla cookie into something more palatable. Is he the best dominant I've ever read? Nope. The BDSM is light but for this book, Jack rules.

Here's a slice of Mr. Rothman in action:

“Thank you, Spencer," Rory said.

In a flash Jack was inches from her face, bending over her so that his breath could be felt on her lips. "You don't thank Spencer. You thank me.”

There's a lot of sex scenes in this book but I'd dub it closer to romantica than erotica. I enjoyed the patience, boundaries and control dominant Jack exuded throughout the story. And he was so seductive in his dominance.

Another yummy quote:

“You two have a lot to learn about being subs."

"Maybe, but I can't believe how turned on I am," Rory whispered.

Jack smiled at her. "I can." He sat on his knees and his gaze traveled over her body to the neat pink Lycra V between her legs. "You've soaked your bottoms already." The grin on his face was wicked. "Take them off.”

Or my favorite:

“First you're going to get your sweet little ass down from there and bend over the counter while I show you who the fuck is boss around here.”

*wipes forehead* Jack talks a good game. And most importantly he can back it up. And he fit well in Spencer and Rory's dynamic. He recognized the submissive qualities in both lovers and made them blossom. An aspect that I also enjoyed was the touching, the three were connected whenever they were together. It really sold them as a triad.

Another favorite of this book is that this story actually enjoyed the MM aspect. I've read a good number of MMF where the MM part seemed forced or something just added on to appease the reader. The 'I'm not gay but for...maybe as long as the heroine is around so we're not 100% gay' type of MMF (different from MFM). I am so disappointed when coming across those types of MMF. In "Polished" there's glory in MM sex, rimming, blowjobs and anal! And the best part, the MM and MF loving was balanced. Jack and Spencer? Delicious! Spencer and Rory? Cute. Jack and Rory? Sexy.

These three do not have an automatic HEA - there's a little work involved. For an established couple to add another, there's going to be bumps in the road. It was mostly easy going. The issues of acceptance, coming of out of the closet (so to speak) are resolved. And there's hot sex that was had.

I'd check more MMF from this author because the ideas are great and each aspect of the triangle (MM & MF of the MMF) gets recognition. Plus it's hot! ;)

P.S. The setting of New York was done beautifully. We don't only get to read about Manhattan but other parts of the state too, such as Shawangunk Ridge and Long Island.

Wow Holy Hot Wow!
SOO HOT…

Alyssa Turner has done it again.

I was asked to review this book and I had no idea exactly what was going to go down.
Well, actually, a little lie. This is my second Alyssa Turner book , so I knew I liked her writing style and I knew she had the ability to strike a chord in me with the M,M,F genre.
So I was not surprised Polished met my expectations, exceeded them and now has left me wanting more Alyssa Turner.

Rory and Spencer have the picture perfect relationship.
Together three years, Spencer burns for Rory. Sweet, impulsive, and always up for anything.
Just one thing holds Spencer Back, the truth about his sexuality.

Rory would love to give Spencer the one thing he doesn’t have, the freedom to explore his secret desires. She knows keeping his desires in the closet is eating at him, but is unsure of how to address the issue.

~It seemed like they had everything, but they didn’t have Jack.~

A work accident traps Spencer and the Engineering Consultant Jack Rothman in a flooded subway tunnel. While waiting to be rescued a spark between the two men stirs something strong that’s impossible to ignore.

Jack Rothman, Man whore, and Dom. Jack is hard working and likes to play dirty.
After being trapped with Spencer, Jack is introduced to Rory when they are rescued.
Jack, not ever having known what its like to feel concerned for someone or show tenderness, sees something between Rory and Jack that stirs something inside of him.

Jack's Company could be at fault for the blast that trapped Spencer, going into damage control Jack, invites the couple to his Hampton's beach house for the weekend.

The sexual tensions heats up and Rory realises Jack is a Dominate. Soon It's not just Spencer's desires that Rory wants to fulfil, she has secret desires of her own.

description

Rory and Spencer ask Jack to show them that side of him. Give them a little taste.

~"Are you ok with this?"
"I'm curious."
Rory looked down at his shorts. "You're hard."
"So I'm curious and hard." ~

That whole scene on the Island was freaking hot!!!!

~"She might be your girlfriend, but here you have no rights unless I give them to you. You belong to me. She belongs to me."~

With just the tiniest taste, Rory and Spencer want more.
Jack is the one who can give them both what they desire.

~Jack had them both utterly captivated, getting them to do things they both wanted but couldn't quiet find the courage to do alone. he'd taken the power away form them and, along with it, the ability to doubt or resist their urges.~

After spending some time with them, Jack starts to feel more for both of them.

~"Their light was too bright, like a beacon calling to him. It was already obvious he was going to follow it."~

MY GOSH THE SEX….

description

~"How about you, Spencer? Do yo think I can make your girlfriend's pussy cream for me?"~

~"I think I could play with you all night, Spencer. You are so fucking obedient." ~

description

~"I want to taste your girlfriends pussy, Spencer.
Up close this time. Tell her to come to me." Jack added another finger to the one already lodged against Spencer's prostate.
"I could tell her myself, but I want to hear you say it."
Spencer's lips had been pressed so tightly they were numb, but he manage to croak out the words, "Go baby Jack wants to eat your sweet pussy." ~

description

It was great we had Spencer experiencing being with a man for the first time. And then Rory having her first experience with submitting. Soo hot!

Soon it's more than sexual indulgence and satisfying curiosities.

Jack didn't know things could be better, he thought he was satisfied with what he had, thought he knew what he needed. He wasn't looking for love until Spencer and Rory fell in his lap.

Can bringing Jack into Rory and Spencer's relationship ruin what they have and tear them apart?
Can Jake help them let go an embrace what he can offer them?

I loved it.
The sex was hot, the self discovery of each of the main characters was well written and you could feel along with them.
I was a little concerned with Jack being a Dominate but the three of them together was perfect and I was loving them all together.
I loved the moments between them all, weather it being the guys together or her with one of the guys or all three together, it was great.

I have read a few M,M,F books and I'm very much addicted to them.
I love the dynamics of each of the individual relationships and how they are all work together.
Alyssa's writing definitely hits the right spot for me.

This one is for you if you love M,M,F

Please excuse me while I change into something dry. 😘💚🍆🍑🍆🔥💥🎉 Absolutely Scintillating!

I love a good bi-love story and this definitely falls in that category! I read this a couple of years ago and am happy that I revisited it. I originally planned to skim it to reacquaint myself with the characters before I finally read book 2 but I couldn't stop reading the words again with renewed interest.

I'm left feeling very needy for several things: more of Rory, Spencer, and Jack; Brice and Devin's story; and most importantly, relief from all of the tension that has built up within me. This trio are incredibly hot and their dynamics are interesting to watch morph into a committed circle. I also love the BDSM elements. Absolutely scintillating!

Please excuse me while I change into something dry. 😘💚🍆🍑🍆🔥💥🎉

Spencer Hartley and his live-in girlfriend Rory Campbell have an almost perfect relationship. They’re best friends living a good life and having an off-the-charts physical relationship. But...Spencer can’t seem to ignore his attraction to other men, especially Jack Rothman, the arrogant consultant he’s working with. When they get stuck for hours in an underground tunnel following an explosion, his feelings are hard to ignore. Meanwhile, Rory is aware of Spencer’s other side (Jack sees it, too) but doesn’t know how to approach the subject she’s open to exploring.

I really liked this story, primarily because the characters were so refreshing and honest. Spencer and Rory were quite happy in their relationship so it wasn’t about anything missing. Jack was quite lonely, isolated and frustrated with his career and personal life, having to hide his bi-sexuality. When circumstances caused the three of them to be together overnight, the spark was lit and refused to be extinguished. Yes, the sexual encounters were explosive (pardon the pun given Spencer’s vocation) and highly erotic but more importantly, the story and characterizations were so very strong throughout.

This is also a duet narration (where the male and female narrators transition anytime there is a gender change in dialogue or narrative) and it was superbly executed. Both narrators were excellent, especially Erin Bateman. She was SO good!

I kind of inhaled this book, finishing it in a day. Loved the characters and the erotica, which was well done by the way. It really helped define the three and I liked how their issues were developed and resolved. Nothing easy here and the audio performance made a difference for me. Looking forward to the next chapter in this relationship.

this book was on my TBR for a long time and I really looked forward to reading it, as there are quite a few real good reviews on it.

For me the book was a double edged sword in regard to the pacing: we go very slow in the beginning and then it is very rushed! the pacing was totally off for me.

I do not know why the author made the relationship between Spencer/Rory and Jack a instand-love thing. a slow development would have been much better

all in all it was an ok read

First let me just say that I loved this book Rory Spencer and Jack were all missing something in their lives and found it in each other. Jack was a man whore looking for hooks ups anywhere he could get it then he met Spencer and felt something that he has never felt before. This book was about three people who let their parents dictate their lives as adults. I would have like to get more of a backstory on each of them this was a really good book

Holy Hellfire! This trio’s brand of lovin’ is smokin’ hot!

There’s no doubt about it, Spencer and Rory are a hot couple, in love and extremely happy together. In their minds, they are complete as a couple, but that was before Mr. Jack Rothman enters the picture.

Allow me to introduce the characters:

Rory is an auburn haired beauty and a total catch by anyone's standards. She is part girl-next-door and part sexy exhibitionist who’s definitely not afraid to try new things - from cooking to geting kinky, it's all good!

Spencer is a ruggedly handsome, mountain climbing, demolition man. He is sex personified and his relaxed and slightly disheveled appearance only adds to the appeal. His bed-hopping habit came to an abrupt halt when Rory entered the picture; she soothes his soul and makes him happy. So happy in fact that he rarely thinks about the sexual urges lingering in the periphery.

Jack is all buttoned-up perfection. You know the type… The suit-wearing Hampton’s man, born into money and power, the perfect catch for some lucky lady. Too bad he doesn’t generally like the ladies. He’s a man’s man in every sense of the word. He is dominant to the core.

When Spencer and Jack are trapped together in a flooded subway tunnel, they instantly click and become fast friends. Their chemistry is undeniable, but Jack knows Spencer doesn’t swing that way. Leave it to the woman to be all knowing. The instant Rory meets Jack, she KNOWS and his presence flips a switch in both Spencer and Rory – unleashing desires that cannot be ignored. The big question is: Is there room in their relationship for another man? The only way they will know is to test the waters.

It’s all fun and games until the Dom comes out!

First you’re going to get your sweet little ass down from there and bend over the counter while I show you who the fuck is the boss around here.

When Jack’s true nature as a sexual dominant is revealed, the couple embraces the new adventure and ultimately feel a sense of freedom in their loss of control. But it's not all rainbows and roses, they have their fair share of obstacles to overcome. Is this a temporary arrangement or will the trio’s relationship stand the test of time and judgment from their family and friends?

POLISHED is a special treat to be enjoyed by the masses and by the masses I mean those of you who love contemporary romance combined with ménage, BDSM elements and “gay for you” m/m lovin’. Get it. Read it. You will not be disappointed.

This was a very good story. It's the first I've read but this author and based on this I'd try more of her work. I liked the characters and the story line was interesting.

This story is a little different than most menages I've read because the reasons for the exploration are based more around Spencer because of his bi-sexual urges. Most menages I've read center around the female in the story even when they're mmf. Rory gets something she needs from this relationship but she's not the center of it. It's a different and interesting dynamic that I liked.

Spencer is a good guy. He's been dating Rory for 3 years and it in love with her. He plans to ask her to marry him but first he needs to figure himself out. He has needs that Rory can't fill, urges to be with a man. He doesn't want to lose Rory but can't figure out how to reconcile all his needs.

Rory is a sweetheart and loves Spencer dearly. She's getting her masters in psychology, specializing in sexual orientation. She's seen that Spencer has urges he hasn't opened up to her about and she doesn't know what to do about it.

Jack is a good guy but has issues to start with. He works for his father and it causes him plenty of problems. He struggles through life with no emotional support and you can see that deep down Jack has the ability to feel deeply but he's never been able to. Never had anyone he can trust or rely on(not even his father, especially not his father).

Jack and Spencer aren't on the best term when they get stuck underground together. But while working to stay alive and help each other they form a bond. After they get out of the collapsed tunnel, Spencer and Jack have a tentative friendship. Rory doesn't have an issue with this and even encourages things when Jack invites them to his house in the Hamptons for the weekend. The attraction between all 3 is there and as the weekend progresses, they end up exploring sexually. While Rory feels an attraction to Jack she was mostly welcoming him in for Spencer's needs but Jack's Dom tendency ends up giving her something she needed too (but didn't know she was missing).

The weekends is wonderful and seeing the three exploring the burgeoning relationship was really enjoyable. Unfortunately just as things are going well an overheard phone message from Jack's father makes Spencer and Rory doubt Jack's intentions and things go to hell. I felt bad for Jack because he really did just want to be with them and missed them when things went wrong. On the good side this encouraged him to do what he had to to get his father out of his life. It left him much happier except that he still missed Spencer and Rory.

After things went wrong, Rory and Spencer tried to pick up their lives and move on. They do for the most part but they both are missing something that Jack provided (and just plain missing Jack). They want it back but don't know how fix things with Jack or if they can even trust him.

Finally, after months, Jack can't stand it any more and goes to talk to them. Things aren't easy but he manages to get them to believe him about what happened with the phone message. They work on re-connecting and getting their relationship working as a threesome. Things go well and it had a very good ending that left me happy and satisfied.

This was a very good story. I really liked the characters and the story line was engaging. I think the different twist of the dynamic of this mmf menage is great, it made the story unique from most of the mmf menages out there. I'd recommend it. Thumbs up. :D

2/3/16 - This is a reread before reading the followup, Swept. I really like this story and the characters in it...I think I actually liked it better the second time around. :D

I want my own Spencer and Jack! I'm not going to lie, this book is smut. But, it's sweet, emotional, i-love-you smut.

Seriously, Rory is the luckiest girl in the world! She's been with Jack for a few years now, and life with him is just about perfect.

Spencer loves Rory with all he is. He's going to propose...just as soon as he gets everything in order. He's bi-sexual, but in the closet, and willing to bury his need for a man to spend his life loving her.

Jack is sick and tired of cleaning up after his father. No matter what he does, it just isn't good enough. He is empty and alone; his only comfort being brief illicit encounters with various strangers (of both genders), but even that leaves him hollow. No one has ever truly cared for him - they only care about what he or his money can do for them.

After disaster strikes and Rory insists Jack spend the night with them, the sparks between the three start to fly.

The tension with Jack is a slow buildup, but by the time Jack becomes intimate with Spencer and Rory, it feels just right. Jack is dominate, and quite enjoys having both Rory and Spencer submit to him.

I love characters that display real insecurities and healthy cautions. The way Jack becomes involved with the other two seems very realistic - no bone-jumping happens right off the bat. Everyone has insecurities, but none of them are obsessive and stupid about it. There is the obligatory misunderstanding that seems to end the courtship, but it isn't overblown. I actually was relieved that the heroine didn't do a stupid overreaction, although it did keep them apart for some time. After that is resolved, and everyone is dripping in menage bliss, they slowly tackle insecurities and finish with a HEA.

Well, the post-reunion portion of the book seemed to go by pretty fast, but that's possibly just me - the story quite clearly states that more time has passed.

The characters are realistic and believable, honest, sweet, caring, and hot. The issues are not superficial, and I was proud of all three main characters for handling each other so well. I was completely engaged through the whole book, and wanted more when it ended.

As I mentioned in the Swept review, I read this “out of order” so to speak. Totally my mistake, but I’m extremely happy that each installment can be read as a standalone. In some ways, I think I enjoyed this one more reading it as a “prequel” so to speak since I read it second in line. Please keep in mind that I read Swept before I read Polished, so my opinion and views will be slightly different than those who read them in “order”.

After reading Polished, I already knew that Rory and Spencer are too cute together. Seriously. They’re two peas in a pod. Ok, they both have some issues that they need to work through, but you can absolutely see the love that flows from one another for each other.

So when Spencer meets Jack during an accident, that by the way is cray cray, it’s understandable how Spencer’s “feelings” start to get a little jumbled when it comes to his sexuality. Good thing Rory is in tune with making sure that Spencer explores who is he both inside and out. After a very intense beach bonfire, let’s just say that there was no turning back.

WOWZA! Ok, I had to say it. I thought that there were some awesome sex scenes written in Swept. Holy Mollie! All I have to say is, “Dang Ms. Turner”!!!! Hot hot hot doesn’t even start to express the chemistry that’s going on between each of these guys. Not just M/M, but M/F and M/F/M. I need a fan just re-thinking about it. (sigh)

* I received this book from the JeepDiva in exchange for my honest review.

Hot mmf menage with established couple Spencer and Rory finding there was a little something missing after they got better acquainted with Jack. Spencer was intrigued with Jack and Rory found she enjoyed Jack's dominating ways. Sexin' was hot and realistic and I could see how all their needs would be satisfied in a threesome.

Ms. Turner once again delivers an explosive, sexy, passionate page turner. She is one of the best in the business at delivering scorching hot sex, a lot of emotion and mixing it all around a beautiful love story.

Rory and Spencer were perfect together. They cared for each other, understood each other and completed each other. They really didn’t know they were missing out on anything until Jack shows up and throws one hell of a curve ball in their happily ever after. How can one person come into their lives and give them both what they crave and need? How can a perfectly happy couple need more than what they currently have? How can they include a third and not lose the relationship and trust they have with each other? There lies the questions on the reader’s mind. Fortunately the intriguing answers are delivered in blazing, intense, passionate moments between the pages.

Spencer has been attracted to men in the past, but he shut that side of his life down when he got serious with Rory. Deep down he desires more, but he is not going to lose what he has with her to get it. Rory needs to be dominated. She likes to give up all the control. She wants to let go completely and be at the mercy of someone else. Jack can give both of them exactly what they crave and they can give him the one thing he has never had…acceptance and love.

Their relationship is not easy, it’s not conventional, but it is worth fighting for. I loved their unique story. It’s not always easy to balance a ménage book, but it was done perfectly here. The characters all had their own individual struggles that were portrayed honestly.
The emotion and passion these people shared flowed right off the pages and stayed with you throughout the story. Alyssa knows how to write blazing sex scenes. It’s the kind that leaves you sweaty and completely satisfied. She portrays not only the actual act, but they intense passionate emotions of her characters in every situation. Her attention to detail is impeccable. Whether she is describing a mountain climbing scene, a dirty wet subway tunnel, or sultry sex on the beach, she is a master and will forever hold a place on my “must read” shelf.

Polished by Alyssa Turner My rating: 4 of 5 stars I want to start by Thanking Cynthia F. for recommending this book to me, I have never read any of Alyssa Turner's before and I really have no idea why I hadn't found her earlier. This book was HOT! Rory and Spencer are in a committed relationship for quite a while but there has always been a secret fantasy that Spencer kept hidden....or so he thought. Anyway, Rory has a secret of her own and maybe, just maybe Jack will be the answer they are both looking for to help fulfill both of them.Jack was working with Spencer when something terrible happened, and to be honest I had to stop reading because of what was going on...this part hit a little bit to close to home for my comfort....so after a break I went back and pushed through because I knew its just the story and not actually happening, so with my fear tucked away and hidden I continued to read this wonderful story. I haven't read many stories where they has been an established couple and then they bring a third party into the mix, I would think it isn't something to easily write about but Alyssa Turner did a great job with it, especially addressing jealousy issues which I would think would be a major problem to the established couple. This was a great story and I look forward to reading more books by Alyssa Turner, so thanks again Cynthia for the great book recommendation, and I should thank Veronica for the book loan, you ladies ROCK! Read this book as part of the BOTM and it was sweet. The menage between Jack, Spenser and Rory. Their tentative relationship develops into a kinkilious manner. My favourite kink scene is the one on the boat. The way the three are together in a triad is how I enjoy my menages so this did it for me all around. The one thing I didn't like and I know I wasn't supposed to like is the Jack's asshat father. What a disgusting asshole.

The bdsm in this story is light. The love between the three adorable. The writing style is smooth. Ms. Turner is a new to me author whom I'd read again. Recommended for kinky menage lovers.

It has been years since I read anything with the F in it, but this MMF was just what I needed! I loved MMF before I discovered MM and I can't see why I cut it off completely. This was sexy as hell and the threesome was so well done. I really really enjoyed this and it's inspired me to keep going on this F track while it's working for me. Of course still involving my MM, I'm not insane.

Polished Book One

Spencer Hartley and Rory Campbell have been together for years, but something has always been missing. Rory knows that Spencer is looking for more of a thrill, but he cannot admit that even to himself. When Spencer and his boss, Jack Rothman, are trapped underground and underwater in a subway tunnel, the two feel a spark of something that could become more. Jack's overbearing father demands that he ensures Spencer's cooperation in the future by inviting Spencer and Rory to their home in the Hamptons. When they visit, Jack shows them a new type of thrill that even Spencer cannot deny.

If you've been looking for a MMF Romance with a bit of suspense and overcoming emotional baggage thrown in, this is the book for you!

Audio Review:
Erin Batemen and George Orlando work well together in a duet narration of the story. The transitions are mostly seamless, although they might be better if listened to at a faster speed (I listened at 1x).

I loved Spencer and Rory as a couple, but if there was one character I cared for the most, it was Jack. In the beginning we only see him as a jerk because we only see him through Spencer’s eyes. Jack doesn’t know love, and his father is a real piece of work. More often than not, my heart broke for him and what he had to deal with to appease his father.

Spencer was a sweetheart! I felt his utter devotion towards Rory and their relationship. There was no doubt those two were deeply in love and nothing would tear them apart. But Out of the three characters, Spencer was the one who struggled with his cravings the most. Since the idea of bringing in a third person was so new, I guess he felt like it might hurt Rory in some way if he made room in his heart for another person.

Rory was selfless. Even though she encouraged Spencer and Jack to explore their feelings, she would have little battles with her insecurities and begin to feel self-conscious. But both men always made Rory feel cherished, loved, even worshiped. When Rory and Spencer opened up to him, the emotions swirling between the three of them was a heady thing.

The sex scenes were scorching hot and plentiful. While the sex did move the story forward and served to make them discover their true selves, what really kept me engaged in the story were their individual struggles and how they each tried to come to terms with what they were feeling or doing. This story wasn't all about the sexual gratification though; it had a very heart-warming plot beneath the surface. If there was a message in this, I suppose it would be how to be honest, open-minded and true to one's feelings.

I don’t think I have ever read such a well written erotic romance menage with characters who were so complex, vulnerable and likeable. Polished was my first adventure into Alyssa Turner’s world, and I don’t think I can ever go back. She has a strong voice, a clever voice and the emotional responses she could illicit with her words were quite diverse. The story is well paced leaving the characters enough time to grow into themselves and grow on each other. As I write this, my praise for her story telling abilities definitely extend to her other menage story, By Surprise. I read it immediately after this one, and I loved it even more.

Warning: Contains M/M/F ménage, M/M, M/F, light BDSM

B+ rating.

I don't read menage books very much anymore. I tend to go toward straight m/m or m/f so I had forgotten how much I enjoy a good m/m/f and this is a good one. The premise is that Spenser and Rory have dated for years. He's on the verge of asking her to marry him, but he needs to come clean on one final thing. He's never confessed that he's also attracted to men. Spenser is a straight-up good guy and knows that he can't go into a marriage with any hint of a lie between them. That's the whole basis of the story line, but this story really isn't about Spenser and Rory. No, this story belongs to Jack...the bi-sexual outsider who re-awakens that m/m side of Spenser. But he and Rory have a connection too.

Jack is the not-so-good-guy. He's working as the company guy in charge on an engineering project with Spenser. Unfortunately, the company Jack works for, which belongs to his dad, is known for cutting corners, cutting safety, and cutting deals. Usually using Jack's ass to do so. Yes, Jack's dad basically pimps him out on behalf of the company. Jack hates every little bit of it, but he continues to do it, so he hates himself quite a bit too. This book is about Jack and him finding his way to being the man who deserves happiness with Rory and Spenser.

This is definitely a book about character growth with Jack. But it's also just a beautiful, sexy book. Spenser and Rory have an amazingly honest relationship. She's getting her degree in sexuality and is very aware that Spenser isn't telling her everything. She is so incredibly open to what he needs and sees that those needs don't threaten her. The scenes between all three of them are incredibly hot. And of course, I'm a huge sucker for a great m/m story so I loved watching Spenser's awakening feelings with Jack. But even the scenes between Jack and Rory are good. It's just an incredible dynamic between the three of them that truly works, although of course they have their difficulties seeing that along the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the set-up of the story line. It sets up as a story where one person is always going to be left out...either sexually or emotionally. But it played out to be and read so much deeper than that as ALL THREE of the characters connected. I truly enjoyed the book and immediately got online to buy one of Alyssa Turner's other menage stories. Like I said, I forgot how much I truly enjoy this trope of m/m/f menage. It was, after all, the trope that introduced me to the sexy world of m/m. Thank goodness for that.

So, I knew from the start this going to be HOT, I mean it's written by Alyssa Turner and thats just the name of the game in her books. Her books are more then that though, they have plots and a storyline that flows, characters as real as you and me and they have, well to put it simply everything you could want in a book!

Polished is about Rory and Spencer, their love for each other is the stuff of legends. They are on the same wave length in every way. They are perfect for each other. They both have secret desires though, and that is where Jack comes in. Oh, Jack. I am in lust with him!!! Jack is the playboy who hides behind the facade to hide his misery. He finds everything he could want it Spencer and Rory.

The relationship between the three is awesome, not just the sex either. They get along and fit so well together as friends too. They work on all levels. They click in the bedroom so well. Jack dominates Rory and Spencer giving them what they all need, without feeling guilty.

I will never look at a pot hanging rack the same way again!!

The BDSM is not to heavy that those not into reading it won't mind, and those who like reading it will be good too.

I loved how Jack would constantly be telling Rory don't ask him if he is ok, he has his safeword. It was a gentle reminder to everyone (including the reader). It provided them the out they needed and the freedom to explore their own desires.

Jack was just amazing, he is so flawed and beat down by his father, yet he has this heart of gold that just shines through. Rory, Spencer and Jack are by far suited for each other so perfectly, their story made me laugh, and sigh, whimper in excitement and blush alot. (Specially since I was reading while at work...)

Definitley recommend this amazing hot love story!

A really good book & I have to start the next one right away. The sex was off the charts smoking hot. Jack is a Dom, even though that isn't really discussed, and you can tell Rory & Spence are natural subs. I would have liked to have seen more BDSM going on. I thought Jack coming into an established relationship worked pretty smoothly. I enjoyed watching these three come to terms with their feelings for each other. I also would have liked some more back story on them & maybe we will get that in the next book.
