Seducing the Sergeant

Rate this book
Sexy, lethal, and their boss. Now all they have to do is convince her she belongs to them...

Weredogs, Camden and Rennick, are partners both on and off the battle-field. Hard fighting and hot loving afterwards has created an unbreakable bond between the two men, but when a new combat sergeant is assigned to their unit, it changes everything. Both men want her, they just have to get her on board with that plan.

Combat Sergeant Wynter Ferris has spent years proving she's not just another admiral's brat. Genetically patched and with a distinguished service record, she's as hard as nails and twice as tough as most of the men she leads. Being assigned to a weredog unit, even though she's human, is proof of command's faith in her abilities. Either that or the ongoing war means capable sergeants are thin on the ground... But when she meets Camden and Rennick, the rules of her world change.

Can a soldier with a secret make a relationship with two dogs work? Or will the service and secrets pull them apart?

This is more like 2.5 stars for me. The story was quite good until it ended abruptly. I reached the words "The End" and I thought there was a mistake. I can't remember the last time I was this disappointed over the ending to a book.

I have owned this book for years and it was lovely to reread it in this box set.
An interesting and different take on shifters that I really enjoyed.
Having genetically engineered weredogs was exciting.
Loved the characters were good, the story flowed well and had lots of action to keep it interesting so it was not all just about sex.
Partners Camden and Rennick are combat weredogs. They have a great relationship and protect each other during battle. They were lovely and I really enjoyed how their relationship expanded to bring Wynter in.
Combat Sergeant Wynter Ferris has also been genetically improved as well. She has a distinguished service record and is hiding something. Wynter is as hard as nails and as tough as she is it was lovely to see a softer side once she let the boys into her heart.
The twist at the end was so good, didn’t see that coming.
Would enjoy having more stories involving the others we met in their troop.

This 30 page sci-fi story starts in the middle of a giant “bug” war and ends with HFN. The ending is abrupt but it fits with the sudden start of the story.

Wow. Just... WOW.

What an amazing read. I was hooked from the first line. This story draws you in and holds you a willing captive until the very end.

So. What can I say to persuade you to buy and read this? Firstly it was well written, Well paced and never boring. Secondly... it was sci-fi. That in itself is more niche. Don't get me wrong, I love paranormal romance but Mina Just took this idea and ran with it. A part of me wished I was in the world of this story.

The lead characters are a joy to get to know. All three of them. ;) Love scenes are steamy as hell and the emotions in it give this whole tale more depth.

I'd definitely suggest this to friends, family... hell. Anyone that will listen to me. Give it a chance, you won't be disappointed.

So from 1% to 98% of this book it was a 4 star to 5 star read. I enjoyed the weredogs, I loved the battle and especially loved the private after battle for dominance and pleasure. I love the idea of the weredogs and especially of Wynter being so hard core.

Now I why would I rate this a 2 star? THE FRACKING END... you cannot do that, it jarred me out of the story and killed the rating that much. Also

MILD SPOILER that's not worth putting it hidden

the 'villain' of the story wusses out and just wants connection...

I'd urge this author to rethink the ending, re-write it and then republish it's an excellent story but that ending kicked it's own butt

I was so totally getting into this book and the characters and then Wham! The End. HUH? O.o Noooooo! Don't do this to me! The story was great- sex was so very hot. Started some good world building. It reads like the beginning of a longer story. The ending didn't fit kind of like OJ's glove. I believe that's why I was so dismayed by the abrupt ending- If you are looking for a scifi that's short and hot this has it but just be warned it's going to end way to soon for you.

That was a hot read, reminded me of Starship Troopers, DIE BUGS! Lol, but with sexy alpha shifters. The emotion was evident, but it could have been better if the book was longer, more time to have a closer analysis on the emotions that were in there, it had been rushed a bit to fit it in the word count limit. But once again Mina wrote a great book

Everything is good...The men, the woman between them, the chemistry, but...I just could not enjoy it! Think i'll blame a headache for this one, lol...

Seriously though, the ending is very disappointing...

Great start to a new series! The sex scenes were hot, hot, hot. The story ended too abruptly, but hoping for more of a book length follow-up. Good worldbuilding for a novella.

I can read Mina Carter's kickass military heroines all day. They're all so competant, strong, sensible and focused. I love how I can trust that they don't become airheads when faced with a magical dick (or two in this case). So great. The only downside was that this short story ended abruptly.
