I'm a reader and writer. My reading choices range from mysteries to romantic suspense to thrillers. All my books have elements of suspense, mystery, and romance, with a dash of humor here and there. They are available as an ebook and in paperback.

The main characters in Threads will bring you tears of joy and sorrow. This is a story of deep passion, courage, and determination. It’s difficult to describe without giving away too much, and heart-stopping anticipation is part of its impact. The tension builds as the pages turn, sometimes faster to find out and sometimes more slowly as you catch your breath. As always with Iyer’s stories, this one takes many surprising turns. You won’t want to put it down. After you close it, the characters will stay with you for a long time.
This story is beautifully written in Ms. Iyer’s usual smooth, flowing style. She’s one of the best writers around, a huge talent, and Threads may be her best yet. I recommend all her books. I’m eagerly awaiting the next one.

Excellent book! I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense/thrillers. I was interested in the plot, but I truly wasn't expecting this to be such an intense read. It was hard to put down. It was very well written and never had a dull moment. A joy to read!

I look forward to reading more from this author.

a kindle freebie

My second book by this author, and I think I can say that she knows her research. Every twist and turn was explained convincingly; I could not detect a single plot hole.
And that's why I am a little bit torn with my rating but this was a book which almost would have gotten a did-not-finish award from me.
Now I am glad I persevered!
The beginning was sorta rushed in my opinion. The characters were merely introduced, rather sketchy at that, and then: BANG!
And then the story started to drag; and it dragged and it dragged...*yawn*
I understand that the set up for what was to come demanded a lot of scheming, but so many new characters were introduced to the story on every second page, I literally could not see the forest for all the trees. Too much head hopping really, I was wondering who the protagonists were.

It got worthwhile again, way after the 50% mark on my reading device, when the story focused on the characters I was the most interested in.

I suppose it's not too spoilerish when I say that this book ends with a HEA. A really deserved one!

Another winner from Polly Iyer... I'm a huge fan

As a long time reader of romantic suspense and mystery I can be a pretty tough critic because over the years I've read some of the best . Polly Iyer, for my money , is right up there!. Her stories are riveting, original and filled with spine tingling surprises . She develops her characters with a light hand taking us along, using dialogue and anecdote to define and lead us to discover them them . She does not make the lazy mistakes so many contemporary authors do of telling us who A character is ....she gets out her brush and with a few brilliant strokes shows us As for the romance , she knows how to manipulate our emotions so that we are feeling the longing of the two protagonists as they try to find their way to each other .
I highly recommend this book . The story will grab you and not let go and the characters will keep you engaged . Love, loyalty, evil , courage, romance and suspense are choreographed to perfection.

THREADS by Polly Iyer

Miranda attends a gallery opening and meets the artist, Stephen Baltraine. They begin dating. At first she finds him charming and attentive but soon a different side of him emerges. He is jealous and possessive, but when she tries to back away, he erupts in fury and Miranda’s life is changed forever.

The book goes back and forth in a six year time period. It is a story that will grip the reader and not let go as it goes through the six years and beyond. Stephen Baltraine has no remorse for any of his actions; he is thoroughly evil as his wealthy father protects him. He is a monster who has gotten away with anything he has wanted to do in his life. Tension builds as readers turn the pages with twists, turns, and a thoroughly unusual, intriguing plot and a suspense filled story. Highly recommended.

It is not often that I give five star reviews. This book deserves it. The book opens softly enough with a view into the life of a privileged twenty-something just making her way. You can't help but like her. When she meets her beau, you know something bad is going to happen. He's just a bit off center. The something bad happened and the scene is so believable that it actually gave me nightmares. I can't say more without giving something away and I am not willing to do that. Not many books can enter into your day to day life. Polly Iyer's THREADS still enters my thoughts at odd times during the day. WOW, read this book. It is a standout.

Nothing like I thought it would be, it's starts off the usual girl meets boy...but then BAM!, the story actually starts. I couldn't work out initially who the love interest would be and thankfully it was who I wanted. Yay!. The story itself is very dramatic with loads of drama and thrills, quite a few twists that kept you guessing. This writer does suspense brilliantly, love her books.

Polly Iver is a talented writer. This was a great book, lots of suspense and drama that kept me entertained. Excellent characters, great back stories, all & all it was well done. Despite the classic plot you can see coming the author spins it well enough to keep you intrigued throughout. For those readers that like suspense thrillers I believe you can't go wrong with this book .

Jealousy or just born evil?

Great book. Loved getting to know Miranda and Garrett. Stephen, on the other hand, was one of the most revolting evil men ever. He made my skin crawl. Will read m o re of Polly Iyer's books.

I read Insight a while back, and really enjoyed it.
So I was really looking forward to reading Threads.
Wow, I love Polly Iyer's writing! She delivered the goods.

Miranda Seaton is the perfect MC, strong and feisty, yet she's also vulnerable and has other weaknesses.
Stephen Baltraine is the perfect villain, a spoiled, overgrown brat. He's manipulative and sadistic, and that's putting it mildly. I can't write what I really think of him because the language would be too "colorful" and may get me banned from this forum. He's evil incarnate!
From the outset, Miranda should have listened to her gut. The signs were there.
The author really puts Miranda through "hell".
What an ordeal! *shudders*
But Miranda comes out fighting.
This is an intense story.
It includes elements of mystery, murder, love, revenge and secrets - something for everybody!
