Luke McGrath can’t remember a time when he hasn’t been in love with Quinn, his best friend. Even when he shouldn’t have been. Even after she married his brother.
But now, fate has given him a second chance, at a terrible cost. Jake is gone and Quinn and Luke are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.
Is Luke capable of letting go of his guilt? Is Quinn capable of letting go of the past?
Anything worth having is worth fighting for. They need to decide if the relationship they’ve been building is worth that fight.
Meg Jolie is the pen name of a thirty-something year-old, mom. Her favorite pastimes are reading books by indie authors, writing stories of her own and drinking large quantities of flavored coffee.
The continuation of Luke and Quinn. This is where they should have been from the start and I must admit I do think that their situation is weird and in any other circumstances it should have been a no no. But these two were born to be together and I am so glad that they got their HEA.
This is a hearts and flowers romance book and a great read, I really enjoyed this series.
Quinn and Luke - he cares for her and Carter but he is wracked with guilt that he wanted Quinn when Jake and Quinn were married. Now Jake is no longer around he is conscious of the gossip surrounding Luke and Quinns' friendship and his undying love for her. This is a romantic and sad story and worth the read. I loved it.
I thought this was a great follow up book to Holding On. Luke and Quinn had a lot to deal with which made for an angsty, sad story in the beginning. This review may spoil the first book.
Quinn and Luke are left alone, trying to pick up the pieces of their lives and deciding what the future can hold for them. They have loved each other from afar for years and now have a second chance to make it together, if they can let go of the past. There is a huge tragedy standing between them, making the decision of being together hard on everybody.
This was a good story of rebuilding a friendship and turning it into love despite the darkness that looms over head. I think Meg did a good job of letting these characters explore their feelings instead of just throwing them together. There was a lot for Quinn and Luke to get over in their own ways, not worrying about what others said or thought.
I bought the first book of this series on a whim...and let me tell you, I was hooked! Now that I have read "Letting Go" I never want it to end. (Thank goodness Carly has her own books) Quinn had so much to face with losing Jake in book 1, and for rekindled feelings with Luke. She definitely held on to her independence and didn't allow others to bring her down, even her own mother! She knew what she wanted and what was right for her family and she took it full force! Poor Luke, over the years he has had to sit back and watch Jake take his girl, but he was civil about it. Since Jake died, he has mixed emotions of his own...and he takes a slow approach at seeing where things could go. I loved this book. Brought an end to the sadness and the emotions of the characters were real and heartwarming. I love seeing a book where the characters have to fight for love. On to read Carly's story in book 3...Unraveled!!!
After purchasing "Holding On" the first book for free on Amazon on a whim, I had to buy the next book to find out what happened, having me intrigued.
The second book is a continuation of Quinn and Luke.
I must admit the situation between the couple should be a complete no, don't even go there, but however, I wanted these two to get together and be happy as they belonged together. I really enjoyed this romance and look forward to reading book 3 "Unraveled", Carly's story. I enjoy her style of writing and managed to keep me hooked.
This book was enjoyable to read. I felt like I was watching someone's life through the words on the page. Luke and Quinn finally get together, which is to no one's surprise. As in the first book, her mother continues to be the mother none of us want to have. Can you say slap her...hard? Carly and Jesse are still at odds with one another but as this book comes to a close you feel as those that is about to change. Enter book 3 in the series.
If you have a free weekend or few free hours, give this book a look. Be sure to read the first in the series before you do though.
Amazing!!! Loved this book as much as I loved the first book in this series!! Quinn...that girl has been through so much and deserved a happily ever after. Luke had been in love with Quinn since they were kids and knew he was the one to give her a happy ending!! This book was very well written and the characters made you fall in love with them. Meg Jolie did an amazing job with this storyline and the follow up to Holding On. Now starting book three which is Carley's story!!!
I absolutely loved this book. When I finished it I was left with the biggest smile on my face, I wanted to get up and do a little happy dance. Brilliant story, especially after all the heartache in the first book. This book wasn't easy, love never is. I love the characters and I am definitely intrigued to see what happens with some of them in the future. I'm hoping for more.
I enjoyed reading this one more than the first one!! I've read a couple of reviews saying it should have been longer than a year, but you know what... I thought the timing was just perfect!! A lot better than a guy I know who only waited 3 months ti start dating and another 3 to marry his next wife!!
Finally Luke & Quinn get the chance to be together. But will they work things out? Several people have commented about it being wrong. Can the two of them move on together and be happy or will other people's idea ruin their happily ever after? Read it to find out...so good!!!
3 1/2 stars. This was a good book. I was slightly disappointed that Quinn only waited a year. That was just not enough time for me despite Luke and Quinn's history! I loved Jake and had a hard time letting him go. If this book picked up on Carter's 2nd or 3rd bday, I would have liked it more.
Letting Go is Luke and Quinn's fight from tragedy to hopefully a life filled with some form of acceptance and love. This was a heartwarming read and a true example that love and friendship can possibly conquer all.
This wasn't a bad book... no errors, and plenty entertaining. The plot was great, the writing is just kind of.. boring. It feels kind of emotionless. Don't get me wrong, the book sucks you in, but it doesn't take over your head and your heart like it should. Just my opinion though.
I liked the concept of this book and Holding On but for whatever reason I ended up not loving either of them. They were okay. Time filler. The situation in the story seems so difficult to traverse and maybe that's why I felt like the characters were hard to connect to.
This book was great! Not as much of a tear jerker as the last one! It was a little shorter than I would have liked, but it covered all the bases. I recommend this read!
second book of this.series and I liked it.more than book one. you don't need to have read book 1 to totally enjoy this.book. I'm looking forward.to book 3
