An excellent follow up to Precipice 1. The sequel catches us back up on all my favorite characters, Annie, Travis, Sean, and Dasher. I love that these characters have flaws and aren't perfect. Some characters have dark thoughts and question their lives and choices. As always Annie is one tough gal and one tough mom. The dynamic relationship between Travis and Sean was very interesting to watch it grow and change. Book 2 has more dark moments because it has some more focus on the evil folks always left around that prey on the weaker in such situations, but very realistic unfortunately. Now if you are looking for answers to all of the mysteries in this series then you will be disappointed. At least to this point much of those questions remain unanswered. For me I got the answers I most needed because I was most concerned about the fate of my favorite characters.
Great series, five star and would make a fab movie. Sci fi apocalypse awesome!!!
How I review: For poor books remember what Yoda said - "If no mistake have you made, yet losing you are ... a different game you should play!"
How I review... 1 star - binned it before half way, please don't write anymore!!! 2 stars - finally binned it after really trying, I mean really trying and I hate to not finishing someth.... 3 stars - finished it but boy was that hard work on times, it just about hooked me back in as I was about to dump it 4 stars - great book but it lacked something, something, can't put my finger on it but.... something 5 stars - want more, more books, more movies about the books, more movies about the authors and the making of the movie, just more!!!
Will Lieutenant Travis Daniels and his team make it to Earth in time to save his wife and son? While on Earth, Daniels' wife, Annie, must not only protect their only child, Logan, but she must also protect her best friend, her daughter, and an orphaned child, whose parents were killed by the creatures. Can Annie save her son and the others? The creatures have become more numerous and harder to kill or avoid. Will the survivors be eaten or dragged off to whatever Hell awaits them. The conclusion to "Precipice: the Beginning."
I had to wait way too long for the second one to come out, because I loved the first one. Gene is one of my favorite characters, and he's such a tough man with a kind heart. Annie continues to kick butt in book two, and she stops at nothing to keep her family safe. I don't want to give away the ending, but I am very pleased with the way things turned out, and I'm eagerly awaiting for book three to come out. I would recommend this to everyone, but only after you read book one so you know the characters.
Spoilers Disappointed, I was hoping for answers. Also, like the first, there were so many typos (bad editing). I really enjoyed the build-up, but I didn't like how it ended. The book also killed off my two favorite characters (Dasher and Alvin). I really liked the first novel and really wanted some explanations. Unless there is a third book, that answers these questions, I really wish I didn't waste my time.

A little bit disappointed with the second and final book of the precipice. It felt a little rushed and had a conclusion I felt had no bang. I really enjoyed the first book so my expectations on what I was hoping would be a colossal finale were unmet. Still, author has become one of my favourites and I will look forward to his next jaunt. :)
