🐛 the couples great. i mean look at this trope :
He kept talking like he hadn’t even heard her. “Ya know, I shoulda fired you when you refused to put on that same glittery costume here at this job. It showed insubordination.”
Scotlyn snorted at that statement. “Oh please. You’d fire yourself, before you fired me.”
No matter what he threatened, Zeke wasn’t going to give her a pink slip. For some perverse reason, he enjoyed having Scotlyn around to torment. Besides, she was the only one who even tried to run Topless Golf World like an actual business. Without her to oversee it, the place would be closed within days. When she finally left it to flounder, it would be an act of mercy on the world.
Zeke headed over to make his own coffee, apparently resigning himself to the fact that she had no intention of getting it for him… Just like he did every day. “I can’t fire me. I’m not sure I even work here.”
Scotlyn arched a brow. “I’m not sure, either. Anyway, when I do escape this dead end job, it’ll be because I’m quitting. And, on that happy day, I will abandon you here on skid row, utterly lost without me.”
Zeke’s head snapped around. “You’re leaving?”
Scotlyn’s blinked. She expected a typical, snarky retort, but Zeke looked strangely intense. “No.” She regarded him in confusion. “Not yet. Soon, though.”
ehm yeah aiden-vanessa/a bossy christmas long term assistant boss relationship vibe
’and Zeke realized she trusted him to get them out of this mess.
Damn it, why would she do something that dumb?
Scotlyn wasn’t even supposed to be here. She was just killing time until she married a yuppie asshole and went off to live happily-ever-after in some high-priced condo that was guarded by a doorman specially trained to keep people like Zeke off the steps.
Scotlyn was a girl who wouldn’t sleep with a guy unless he was special. Who worked hard every day, even though Zeke would’ve paid her bushels of diamonds to do nothing but show up and talk to him. Who was a different species than Zeke in every imaginable way.
But, from the moment he first saw the frustratingly virtuous little human, Zeke had wanted her.
All day, every day, he obsessed over her lush body and delightfully bossy ideas. He wanted her with him. Wanted to be able to talk to her and keep an eye on her. It annoyed Zeke every time she left the golf course and was out of his sight. If she ever carried through with her threats to quit, he had no idea what he’d do. Zeke had always been a dreamer and Scotlyn was every dream he’d ever had.
they were good enough for me at first. like i said, i rlly liked the couple, but things outside them that happened in the book, doesnt interest as much as their interactions do. loved the first 35%, after that tho….
’He was going to die because he wouldn’t leave this human. There wasn’t a doubt in his mind. Dying with her seemed a hell of a lot better than living without her, though.
Scotlyn was his person.
He suddenly saw it so clearly that he realized he must have seen it all along.’
btw i did not expect this till caleb showed up but zeke turned out not as i thought he would be :
Zeke’s smile dimmed. “I’m a shape shifter, not werewolf. And it means nothing really. Basically, I’m the same as a human.”
“No, he’s not.” Caleb interjected.
“Yes, I am.” Zeke slanted his brother a venomous glare. “During the full moon there is the thing, but…”
“The thing where you can magically turn into an animal.” Caleb nodded over at Scotlyn. “He’s talking about that thing.”
“I don’t hurt anyone.” Zeke stipulated quickly.
Caleb arched a brow at him. “You don’t?”
“Not anyone human. Or cat. That’s what she would care about.” He looked back at Scotlyn. “And I would never hurt you. Even after I Changed, I wouldn’t ever harm you.”
“I know.”
The wolf had protected her. It had known her.
And she’d known Zeke.
Zeke seemed encouraged by that response. “You know, it’s almost like a disease. Like I have a –ya know-- strange and tragic illness. I have some increased senses and maybe a little more strength than the average guy, but it’s not like I asked for that. Would you blame me if I’d been born three eyes or something?”
“Three eyes?” Caleb repeated. “I’d blame you for that. Fucking freak.”
Lord, she never thought she’d see the day when Zeke was the likable one in a group.
zeke became sweet af? which i dont mind ofc but i liked him and trix bickering as well and since caleb came along zeke’s ridiculousness dimmed. he just kinda became… responsible and serious
jk still love him. its rlly not that he broke outta his character. just more showy & vocal bout the fact that hes pussy whipped. overall good, started out really interesting but went downhill as it goes
"Bright side to the zombie apocalypse: You will never have to wake up and go to your crummy job, again."The title of this book is self-explanatory, but it also has a paranormal twist. There are shifters, vampires, and other supernatural beings in this world!
"Bright side to the zombie apocalypse: No more parking tickets. Ever."

The romance was pretty good. It started strong but didn’t end as well. I just wish I could have seen how it grew. They jumped too fast from "I don't like you" to "I've always loved you."
There were two low-steam sex scenes for the primary MCs, and two sex scenes for a secondary couple. I preferred their story because it was less saccharine. I wanted the "bad boys" to stay alpha-like, rather than turn into marshmallows-in-love.
