Thresls are rare shapeshifting creatures that can only be born on one planet in the universe. In order to transform from beast to man they have to bond with a human mate. Once transformed they are forever bound to the one they’ve chosen, however, sometimes what should be an automatic process turns into a traumatic event.

While mates and enemies battle for the good of the Thresls, the cat creatures themselves will ultimately have to decide if they want a planet of pure bred shifters or if they can make room for their half-bred children and stubborn human mates.

Politician Won by Amber Kell

Book Three in the The Thresl Chronicles series.

Zander Elios only wanted his Thresl to transform into his mate. Little did he know that once the Thresl changed, Zander would be the one who had to make the most adjustments.

Zander had just about given up on his Thresl ever changing forms. After two years, the beast was still in his cat shape with no signs of changing any time soon. When his health becomes precarious and his Thresl shifts to save him, Zander wonders if he was truly meant to be a mate of one of these special shapeshifters.

As part of his new duties as ambassador to the Thresl king, he is sent to investigate the source of the Thresl smuggling. Unfortunately, when things go wrong they go very wrong and Zander’s Thresl, Leo, is kidnapped. It will take all of his love and diplomatic skills to find their way back together.

Amber Kell has made a career out of daydreaming. It has been a lifelong habit she practices diligently as shown by her complete lack of focus on anything not related to her fantasy world building.

When she told her husband what she wanted to do with her life he told her to go have fun.

During those seconds she isn't writing she remembers she has children who humor her with games of 'what if' and let her drag them to foreign lands to gather inspiration. Her youngest confided in her that he wants to write because he longs for a website and an author name—two things apparently necessary to be a proper writer.

Despite her husband's insistence she doesn't drink enough to be a true literary genius she continues to spin stories of people falling happily in love and staying that way.

She is thwarted during the day by a traffic jam of cats on the stairway and a puppy who insists on walks, but she bravely perseveres..

She also writes under the name Mikela Q. Chase

I find it irritating when major issues are fixed with just one thought of someone powerful. It's just a big nope for me. Saint's character was annoying. Rushed and unpolished story that could have been so much more, but read like the author barely bothered with it. This book was disappointing as well. I think I might pause after this one.

This is a totally fun guilty pleasure read for me. I like the world the author has built and each book brings more of the intrigue and mystery surrounding the stolen Thresls.
So Zander, who has been around since book one finally gets his Thresl to shift to his human form.
Unlike in the two other books, Zander and Leo have been together and bonded for two years, even if not officially, since Leo was being difficult and not shifting.
Next up is Saint and Mars..that is going to be fun, I just know it.

The culture and abilities of the Thresl continue to fascinate me. In this third book, my understanding of their abilities and needs deepened, and a very dark plot, hinted at in earlier books, is finally exposed. The central relationship between Zander and Leo is different than the previous ones, since Leo refuses to shift for the longest time. Usually, the Thresl assumes human form fairly quickly after they meet their mate, so this was a nice variation and offered some additional understanding of the Thresl psyche.

Zander is a diplomat through and through. He comes from a rich family with high expectations for him to do well, and has never even thought about rebelling. Well, not until his father started to threaten that his Thresl might need to move on since they still have not bonded after two years. Zander loves the catlike being though, human shape or not, and they already share a mental bond, so that is out of the question. It is this threat that makes Zander realize maybe it's time to stand up to his father and become his own man. The events that follow when he and Leo are sent on a mission to discover who runs the Thresl slave ring King Vohne has discovered only serve to deepen Zander's resolve.

Leo is an unusual Thresl in that he loves his cat form more than other Thresls we've gotten to know. Yes, he wants to experience his mate in human form, but since they are already bonded, in his mind, he doesn’t see what the rush is. Only when he understands how much he is hurting Zander, both mentally and physically, by refusing to shift does he change his mind. Luckily, the old, mysterious, and very powerful Thresl named Saint is there to hand out some wisdom which will help Leo.

Both men go through hell when they get separated and Leo ends up kidnapped and sold for the second time in his life. Not to fear though, Zander is on the case! If you like stories that unabashedly mix paranormal elements with science fiction, if you enjoy reading about alien cultures, trying to figure out how they work as you follow the main characters in their adventures, and if you're looking for a read that is hot, intensely suspenseful, and full of new discoveries, then you will probably like this novella.

Ah, what a trip, yet again. I think I’m totally enthralled with The Thresl Chronicles and no matter what the author writes I’m going to swallow it whole. Book three in the series is even better than the second one, nearly matching book one. The big bonus is that now we can see the big picture, the world, the conspiracy and the possibilities hidden in the storyline. I’m totally fascinated with it and I enjoyed book three so, so much. It was indeed a surprise.

See here we meet Zander again, remember him? The son of a politician who was at Thresl training along with Kreslan, when Kres was still learning what the hell it means to be the bonded of a Thresl? If you don’t then you’ve obviously not read Soldier Mine which I urge you to start reading immediately if you’re a fan of Sci-Fi / Shifters.

Now as I was saying Zander comes back – which is a surprise because I was expecting Saint’s story – and he’s having a serious problem. His Thresl has not shifted to human form after two years and Zander is really worrying that they are not meant for each other, not to mention the fact that he’s so completely horny being alone in bed for so long. The curious thing is that even as he thinks so, even as his Thresl refuses to shift, the Thresl still insists upon claiming Zander as HIS through their link. This distress brings Zander in an extremely dangerous physical condition literally forcing his Thresl to transform and really, as in really claim him.

You know what that means right? Hot, steamy scenes, interspersed with the inevitability of the fated mates and the “sappy” love that in truth does not grate at all, rather spices it up and gives their lovemaking the intensity needed to make you swoon. I’ve said it again and again, while I usually dislike that kind of love, it has really worked in this series and made me crave it more and more.

Zander and Leo are perfect. They have spent so much time together while Leo was still in cat form, that they lack that awkwardness of the newly found mates that know nothing of each other and need to go through the get to knowing phase. Zander and Leo are already best friends, they already trust each other and work together perfectly as a team, and this was invigorating in the series. But there is more.

The fans of the series already remember how Saint own the secret of Thresls not losing their cat half after bonding. So here we have the addition of Thresls maintaining their form and shifting back and forth and it’s absolutely fantastic.

I, though, being the insatiable and the picky woman that I am, still craved for more. My all-time issue is the fact that the books are too small and there is no room for proper development. The action plot felt again half and rushed over, the fact that there was the incident of Leo’s abduction and they found nothing on who did it had me shaking my head again. That person or persons as they might be more than one are roaming free even as Saint is around now with the ability to read minds, so right there we have a huge hole. Also the introduction of the next book takes space from this one, again, and makes the ending extremely hasty, something that adds at my frustration.

All in all I’m still having the same issues I had with Prince Claimed albeit they were fewer in this book. But I enjoyed this one even more, I had great fun reading it, I loved Zander and Leo as a pair and the new additions that the author added. Most of all I’m even more hooked and anxiously awaiting for the next installment that will probably be Saint and Mars’ story, a story that seems really worth waiting for.

As for this one/ Yeah, totally recommended! ;)

Well this series is definitely not going where I had hoped it would go. The thresls and their mates are fascinating but the author seems to be very focused on furthering the world and its story when all I care abt is a good mating story ! Quite disappointing. ..The first book was sooo good! Maybe it was so good this one couldn't even compare :(

I'm not really sure what to say about this book. It is a nice-paced romance with a very nice and unique variation to the shifter-theme. I really liked the idea of the Thresl. The story itself was very likable too, the tension was good and the elements of suspense kept me reading and curious. I can't really complain about anything. So why only 3/3.5? Perhaps it was a little short for such a big plotline, so some details got a little muddled and neglected, but overall I really DID like this story. It's just... - I would have loved to read a little more scenes with the first awkward interaction between the two mates after the change, or a more detailed look at their relationship before/after...anything... but, due to the lenght I presume, it just wasn't there. So this little "something" that makes a story irresistible was missing for me. Nonetheless - this series is really interesting and I'm looking definitely forward to reading the remaining books!

More like a 3.5 Stars.

I loved the first book, Soldier Mine, didn't particularly like the second one, Prince Claimed due to the too many to count unresolved issues. I must honestly say that reading this third one sort of satisfied my need to find out more about this series.

In Politician Won, we again meet Zander Elios from Soldier Mine. Remember that guy who befriended and helped out Kreslan in the first book when Kreslan first found himself with a Thresl?

Here, we have Zander who only wants his Thresl companion of two or more years to transform into his mate.

In this book, we once again meet Vohne and Kreslan, and Saint (from book two). Curiously, although Prince Bleine is mentioned from time to time, he is nowhere to be seen nor heard, neither is his mate.

Where book two left us hanging, this book sort of resolves some of those issues previously mentioned. "Sort of" because most of the issues in book two were still left unresolved. To top it off, we meet Mars who is a sort of seer and Saint realizes that this slave trader is his new mate.

Although I liked this more than book two, I must be honest in my disappointment. More and more issues are popping up and, sigh, I don't know. One thing for sure, curiosity is killing me at the moment so for that alone I will endure the wait for the next installments. Just to move on. I hate cliffhangers and the waiting is killing me.

This was the third book in a series that I've come to enjoy as a nice light weight hit of sci-fi romance. It has some steam, some intrigue, creative worldbuilding and enjoyable characters packed into what I'm coming to realize are like serial story installments. The abrupt endings that leave several questions unanswered including a story theme that began in the first book shouldn't still take me by surprise, but they do. There is a crisis that is averted and a romance that is pretty much sealed up and then boom last page. I guess I really like my denouements to come down from the height of the crisis point a bit more gently. Needless to say, its not enough to put me off the series.

This one featured the human, Zander Elios, and his Thresl cat that were introduced in book one. Zander is glad for the Thresl King and his consort getting their happily ever after, but his Thresl has still not shifted for him. He loves his Thresl cat and he's pretty sure his Thresl likes him, but why won't the cat shift and bond with him? Zander is from a family of diplomats for whom power, wealth and prestige mean everything. His father has been making strong noises about parting Zander from his Thresl and arranging something else for both of them. Then there is all the intrigue going on around King Vohne and Kreslan along with the smuggling of Thresls from the planet to sell them.

The plot was as interesting as I've come to expect for this series. I enjoyed the main story of Zander and his Thresl who have a special relationship built up even before the cat finishes the bond. The action plot had me so into finding out what was going on with the smuggling that I almost- almost didn't mind that a chunk of the story allowed for Zander and his Thresl to be parted. There were more sightings of Vohne and Kreslan along with Vohne's enigmatic uncle, Saint. I really hope Saint gets his story soon and I loved that dangling thread about him at the end. As I said before, the only thing that bugs me just a little are those jarring endings that jerk me to a halt before I'm ready for the end.

Looking forward to the next installment.

Do you want someone who fits you to a “T?” Someone who balances you even as they take hold of your heart? If so than a Thresl is just what you need, but only if they find you worthy; and Zander is beginning to think that his Thresl is having second thoughts. They have bonded but his Thresl is still on four legs and not two. Why? What has Zander done or failed to do? Dealing with a possessive Thresl leads to a lonely life and Zander is beginning to feel the lack. Ms. Kell did a wonderful job of articulated Zander’s plunging self-esteem. I could feel his despair and dissatisfaction. Zander has been a presence in this series and when I learned that he was to get his story, I couldn’t wait. Zander was such a sweet character and I was so vested in him that I was angry on his behalf. Don’t you just love when an author has made a character so real to you? I wanted to throttle his Thresl just on general principle. But never fear, Ms. Kell had a plan and it involved danger and intrigue. Just what a stubborn Thresl needs to get his butt in gear. When Leo decided to make a change he did so with gusto. I went from angry to enchanted with just the stroke of Ms. Kell’s pen. Leo was just afraid of change. He had gotten comfortable with the status quo. I loved seeing how willing he was step outside his comfort zone, especially when it was necessary to win the politician of his heart. You will love seeing how in Politician Won by Amber Kell.

Politician Won the third book in the Thresl Chronicles picks up during the epilogue of the second book. Zander is mingling at Kres and Vohne’s wedding. He is lamenting his frustrations about his own Thresl not shifting to human form. The lack of transformation has also allowed an incredible amount of sexual frustration to build up. Zander’s Thresl has bonded to him to an extent.

The unshifted Thresl is extremely possessive of his human. Zander and his Thresl do have a strong connection as they currently are and this allows for them to communicate telepathically. The conversations are funny at times. Unforeseen circumstances force Leo to finally take his human fleshy shape. He is not pleased by this initially. Leo loves his beast. Leo also loves his mate Zander and will do anything to save him, even if he has to leave his beast behind to do so.

I enjoyed Leo so much. His possessiveness was quality entertainment. He liked his beast. He loved having a tail. To hell with flesh and being bi-pedal, he was keeping his kitty on. I’m enjoying where the Thresl trafficking story is going. Vohne is turning out to be a wonderful leader for his people. He is a king that truly wants what is best for his people. He is also willing to make drastic changes to see to their well-being.

I am definitely looking forward to the next installment in this series. I am almost positive I know who the next couple is and I am so excited about that!

Hm. Zander apparently sampled quite a few men over time – but he only had one love affair. I suppose that works if you separate love from sex but I wish it had been clearer when these things were first mentioned because I found it contradictory at the time.

Sadly, this volume is awfully repetitive. Things have to be stated over and over again. Exposition, no less. This feels like it’s written by a different author, damn it.
Either this eases up later on or I got used to it, but this did not grate as much in the second half for me.

A little awkward that in the middle of the book the italics for telepathic speech somehow got lost.

Despite my complaints, I like some aspects of this.
There’s a sense of realism to how Zander is affected by . That really is one thing about this author. On a very particular level she writes quite realistically. Not so much on others but this exact kind is precious and rare for a fluffy writer.

Overall I enjoyed this book more than the second volume, possibly because the main characters appealed to me more.

It also ends on a nice oomph, . XD

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books and
Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

Amber Kell has written another great story in her series the Thresl Chronicles. Politician Won is the third book in the series and the storyline and plot flow smoothly from the first book-Soldier Mine, through the second-Prince Claimed, and on through this one. The blurb covers the basics so anything I add would be a spoiler.

Amber has written a great story that is plot based with enough action, betrayal, political intrigue, handsome, passionate men, and sex hot enough to steam up your ereader. There's enough of a backstory from the first two books that you're not left wondering what's going on. The characters are believable, and the world building is still concrete and consistent. The author's writing style is simple, but eloquent, concise, and a little more towards the dark side in this one. I really liked reading this book, and the HEA ending with a twist leaves me looking forward to the next book, and happy to recommend this story to everyone.

I like this well enough and plan to continue the series, but there is a glaring hole in the plot as far as I'm concerned. I don't think this qualifies as a spoiler, but I'll put it behind a tag just in case. I really don't like having a full explanation of why this happened this way for the couple. I might have rated this book 4 stars if I didn't have this hanging over my head. I pretty much spent the whole book waiting for this answer, never to get it. :-(

I was looking forward to Zander's story and it was good but I expected a little more. Like the last book the relationship development is weak. Leo only takes human shape after Zander falls ill from not being able to mate with Leo for so long. The story itself was okay, although I have to say I don't really care about who's behind the thresl trafficking. I am, however, looking forward to reading Saint and Mar's story.

Another instalment in the on going saga of the Thresl people that was just what I expected. A sweet romance with a dash of spicy action and the continuation of the longer story arc. These books do stand alone in terms of the romance between the main two Characters but should really be read in order for that longer story arc.

Ohhhh, I like. This time I really felt the connection between the MC's. Maybe because it took the Thresl two years before he made the change. The couple had already established a relationship. The want and need from Zander to have his Tresl change was heartwarming. And finally...some hot sex scenes. Yep. Best one so far.
