Good look at Iran-Western relations mainly with Saddam Hussein. Dated, the book was published in 1991 and it was out while Iraq was still in Kuwait but Allied forces had not started bombing or moving Saddam out of Kuwait.

It's amazing to think that there was ever a time when people believed that the United States was under-reacting to Iraq.

Knowing all the intelligence failures of later years, I found a lot of the claims in this work to be unconvincing, especially considering the complete lack of sourcing.

okay - can't get through it because of useless overinclusion of detail.
