Taryn Cummings could not believe she was accepted into the prestigious International Institute of Culinary Arts culinary institute she dreamed of studying at in beautiful Paris, France. It was a far cry from her unglamorous life back home in New York where she helped her mother run their small family-owned restaurant called Sam's. The International Institute of Culinary Arts churned out the top chefs in the world, including the wildly sexy and eccentric Master Chef Errol King, whose celebrity personality was larger than life.

She wanted excitement in a city of romance and thrills, but arrived to find her apartment barely livable and herself in need of a suitable place to stay. A chance meeting at the Institute brings her face-to-face with her new roommate...the devilishly charming Errol King, who would be guest teaching her class this term.

The attraction is as hot as the fire they cook with, and while Errol King, the notorious bad boy chef with an attitude, can get anyone he wanted into his bed, he wanted this woman more than anything. Something about her sweet innocence and sad eyes reach into his harden heart, but is it enough for him to forget his past?

Devour Me contains mature subject matters and sexuality. For adults age 18 and up.

I've been really interested in BDSM and dark erotica books lately, maybe that's why I haven't been able to focus much on my PNR books.... (?) Anyways, when I saw Kailin Gow's Master Chefs series and saw it featured a yummy chef, I all but jumped for a chance to read it. So you'll understand why I'm sad AND disappointed to have to give this book NO STARS!

I'll start by saying that I finished the book, I wanted to give it a shot and save my judgement for the very end. Well, unfortunately for me I didn't find it the least bit redeemable. My first clue this was one migraine waiting to happen was when the hero and heroine met. Not only did Errol King, master chef of the Paris institute in which Taryn will be studying already KNOW who she was, but he goes out of his way to bring her back into his apartment after seeing her less than agreeable accommodations.

I don't have a problem with chance encounters , but this man took it upon himself to find out where she would stay to meet her. Then he proceeds with a hot and cold interaction with the heroine that left me so pissed, I didn't think I'd recover, and sadly enough I didn't. I dislike when a character begins to one minute be all over the other and the next just walk away unaffected as if nothing happened. Talk about messing with the other's feelings. And it's not like he was worried about the teacher/student conflict, surely if he was he never would have gone looking for her the week before classes would start. Fast forward a few weeks later and very little changes until Errol decides he wants to make her his.

This is the type of story where the hero is damaged but sees something in the virginal heroine that makes him want her and only her. He keeps her at a distance emotionally, but proceeds to fucking her six ways from Sunday without letting her in. He's also controlling, demanding, and a disdainful prick who thinks he's better then other men because he has celebrity status. As for the heroine, she's an inexperienced twenty one year old, who's crushing on her professor, and because he's hot, allows him to grope her the first day they meet. She wants a degree in cooking because her mother owns a restaurant she wants to help with, which explains the Parisian setting where the school is at. She's also extremely insecure and begins hating AND slut-shaming one of Errol King's past girlfriends when she makes an unexpected appearance all because the ex is a total vixen.

"This woman was a hellcat, a slut. A damned sex goddess, and it was clear she wanted Errol."

There are two things in this book that caused me to flip my lid; one I just needed to vent about, the other I felt was necessary to mention. First, it's when Taryn goes off into the country with one of her male classmates. Let's keep in mind here that her and Errol have a relationship of sorts, it hasn't been made official or public knowledge, obviously that can't happen. But the girl is smitten with Errol, yet she takes off to the country without letting him know, simply because he left her so he could film a show. Anyways, that's not it. Whatever. She needed to do something other than Errol *weg* Mr. Hot Shot Chef calls the apartment and doesn't find her, so next best thing he calls the cell, discovers she's with Henry, snaps at her and demands she return to the apartment because he's not there. I mean, how is this logical, I have no clue, but yeah. She lets him know she staying so what does the man do? He leaves the tv studio and drives all the way to the country and drags Taryn into the car, after insulting the poor love sick fool, Henry, and speeds off. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Errol King pulled a FIFTY!

Holy mother of all that's unholy! If there's one thing about books lately I hate so much is that they're FSoG inspired, like it's the best thing to happen to erotica ever. Heaven help me if I didn't throw a fit. And the heroine allowed it like it's okay for any human being to be dragged and shut into a vehicle then fucked on the side of the road like an animal, simply because the man is having insecurity issues.

Oh, but that's just the icing on this clusterfuck filled cake, the true cherry on top was near the end. So a quick FYI, Errol King is into kink (of course *rolls eyes*), bondage and such nothing extreme as far as the book led on. Anyways, what is the first rule in a BDSM relationship, or any for that matter? Trust, right? And what is the first rule of loving someone? Maybe this is just me, but in my opinion, when you love someone and they love you, it's trust. You shouldn't have to PROVE YOUR LOVE and do something you're not comfortable with, or haven't done before simply because your partner wants you to prove it. To me, whether you're kink or vanilla, Safe, Sane, and Consensual IS A MUST!!

I'm not in the lifestyle, never have been. I consider myself open minded and willing to try anything as long as there is trust, and I have a partner willing to listen, but I'm in no way an expert in BDSM. Still, I've read some amazing books that I feel really encompass what a TRUE D/s relationship is. This... is not one of them! No TRUE DOM walks away from his sub in any situation, especially if she's panicked. Neither does he leave random objects inside her vajay while she's freaking out and refuses to LISTEN to her pleas! They may not have established a D/s relationship yet, but he was introducing her to his kind of lifestyle making him responsible for what he teaches her and her safety. The above scene was neither safe or sane, and I'm sorry but the moment she said she "didn't want to do this anymore," it stopped being consensual.

Point blank? I don't recommend this book to anyone. Not only are the characters infuriating, but there are a few unrealistic scenarios that will most likely leave you with headdesk syndrome to last a lifetime. However, if you're still interested, by all means assuaged your curiosity, maybe it's just me. Otherwise, if you happen to come across this book in the near future, do not proceed further, turn around and do as Taryn should have done from the beginning... run away. RUN AWAAAYYY!!!! >.<

3.5 Stars; I love adult teacher/student relationships and this one involves a girl from New York City who has been accepted to study at a well-known culinary Institute in Paris with a chef, Errol King.

Did I feel connected to the characters? I liked Taryn. First I thought she was a little naive to move in with Errol and immediately accept an assistant position the minute she met him. However, I grew to really like her character.

Errol: In the beginning his cockiness was getting on my nerves. It was hard for me to connect with his relationship with Taryn. I was worried that in an instant he would want nothing to do with her. I still don’t know how I feel about their relationship. I don’t trust Errol. When he says he is not looking for a relationship, I worry that he really means it even with Taryn. I understand why she is a runner. I would be a runner too with Errol. I do not like him telling her that she wanted it like he wanted it. She is a sweet and innocent person unlike the other women he is used to so I was yelling at my Kindle at him to take it back!

Pace of the story: Okay

Positives: The cliffy was the type of cliffys I love in a romance stories so I am excited to start Savor Me.

Negatives: The meeting between Errol and Taryn felt rushed. I mean everything was to insta for me. The minute that Taryn steps foot in Paris she runs into Errol. He helps her carry her bags to her new apartment only to find it a dump so he tells her she can move into his apartment. In exchange she is to help him with his cookbook. However, what I thought would be an insta-love, insta-everything, turned out to be something else. After all the initial “rush”, things slowed down.

Do I recommend? I just finished a very dark read and I wanted something lite and fluff and this book fit that bill.

Book Format Read: A copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

OH MY PETIT POIS! Yup… that’s about all the French you are going to get out of me…but this book is so full of such a beautiful language. Obviously a language I never grasped unless it is hot to call someone a “garden pea.” Probably not, so I am going to stick with what I do love about this book and that is just about everything! This book is hot, and I mean hot, from the very beginning. The moment Taryn gets out of the cab in France, you can feel the steam rise!

Taryn is an aspiring chef from New York seeking culinary training at the prestigious International Institute of Culinary Arts in the beautiful city of Paris, France. She is ready to learn from the top chefs in the world and is very excited to take on the new challenges of a hard core culinary school. She had done her research and knew that one of her instructors would be the very talented and internationally know chef, Errol King.

What Taryn wasn’t expecting was finding herself in a beautiful place stuck in a crappy apartment that there was not one redeeming quality for. But that stranger that she bumped into that first day changed the course of events for Taryn.

Errol steps in and ensures that she will be living with him as his assistant, saving her from that nasty little hole. But Errol has a hard time controlling what he wants as much as Taryn does… But Errol is her instructor and she is his student. How many lines are they willing to cross and at what cost?

I was expecting a hot little read when I picked up this book, what I wasn’t expecting was that this book was beyond hot, bordering on 50-Shades and all based around that one thing that I can’t get enough of… food. You thought I was going to say something else didn’t you?

This book was a tasty treat for the culinary palate and both Errol and Taryn proved to be two completely hot messes. I loved the chemistry between the characters. He took control and she wanted to let go of control. It was the perfect mix, well, except that crispy gooey experiment… but you can read about that.

This book left me wanting more and more and I am so anxious to read Savor Me, the next book in this tempting series by Kailin Gow!

This book was well written and had just the right amount of ingredients to make it tasty, tempting and delicious!

I'm pretty sure I wanted to read this book for different reasons than most. Honestly? I'm not really an erotica reader, but I do LOVE a book involving cooking! Nothing to me is more sexy than a man that cooks, and I instantly wanted to read this book just for that reason. The erotica aspect almost made me change my mind about reading it, but cooking men are just that hot to me. I would not be deterred!

This book didn't read like most of the erotica books I've read. It's possible that I've just had poor luck with this genre, but all of my experiences so far with erotica has been sex over story. I don't really care for that. This book was totally different than that. It had super-hot sex AND a fabulous story. THIS is what erotica should always be like!

Not only did this book have an amazing plot, but the cast of characters were all easy to get into. All the characters were so well done that I either wanted to hug them or slap them. The main characters also had amazing growth. Taryn and Errol both have some interesting past keeping them from finding love, but they're able to work through most of these issues to learn how to care for one another.

The ending - oh the ending. Trust me. You'll definitely be left wanting more. I want the second book now!!
This is a great book for anyone that wants to read a sexy story with a fun twist!

This was a great novel. It is the love story of Errol and Taryn. I think it is great, but it could have been better. I thought the story was great and I thought it was a great student-teacher romance.

Errol King is the culinary chef that teaches at a Culinary Institute. He is the bad boy chef with green eyes. He is charming, passionate and sexy as hell. He is French, which makes him all the more appealing.

Taryn Cummings is a culinary student at the Institute. She wanted to join the program because of Errol King. She is from New York. She falls for Errol and he falls for her. They have great chemistry, and it shows with all of the sexy scenes.

The ending is bittersweet. I hope book 2 brings Errol and Taryn closer than in this book. Can't wait to read Savor Me, and I hope this series gets better and better. Overall, an interesting read.

Holly hell what a book! This is an amazing story. It is so well-written and thought out. This book like all her books are hard to put down. And this was one hot and steamy book.
This is Taryn’s story and how she met Errol. She travels to Paris to attend the International Institute of Culinary Arts. But she is in for a surprise already having a bad day and coffee all over her clothing, Errol agrees to take Taryn to her new apartment. As soon as they arrive there, he does not like what he sees. Her apartment is bad and unlivable. Errol purposes that she come and stays with him and but that is not all he wants her to do. He wants her in his bed too. That is when things start heating up quickly in both the classroom and the bedroom. And who doesn’t love a man that can cook? And take care of you to. I didn't realize this was a trilogy about the same couple, but this book ends in a cliffhanger. So now I have to get the next book as fast as I can.
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too.

Food isn’t the only thing Kailin Gow heated up in this book!

Devour Me (Master Chef’s Series #1) by Kailin Gow/Kailin Romance is an extremely erotic and intense story. It follows Taryn as she travels to Paris to attend the International Institute of Culinary Arts. She ends up rooming with her sexy as sin itself instructor and things start heating up quickly in both the classroom and the bedroom. From the moment I started this book I knew it was going to be hot and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Kailin Gow did a wonderful job of creating her characters to be personable, and describing them in such detail that the reader feels like they know them personally. The story is fantastic, I felt like I was there and actively part of the events, seeing them first hand. My only complaint is that I was left hanging and now I have to go buy Savor Me immediately and will probably be up all night reading because I can’t get enough!

Questionable actions.

This one drags you along. It really doesn’t explain the characters that well. What convinced her go to school in Paris? Why that school? How did this Errol get so famous and why is he a loner? And there is the possessiveness, his aggressiveness, and his violence towards her because she went off with a friend. Yeah I was best for this one.

Saffron - I am loving the chef books out there lately! Total foodie here! Food and sex! Match made in heaven!

Jillian - Hot men that can cook are always a bonus!

Noemi - Oh ya!!! There is something so hot about a man who knows his way around a kitchen. Oh and the fact that he's French doesn't hurt, he he.

Saffron - French is a romance language after all!

Jillian - From the beginning of this book the connection between Taryn and Errol was super intense it was pretty awesome!

Noemi - Oh the chemistry was amazballs!!!! I had to fan myself more than once. Errol is sooo hot

Jillian - Oh yes, It was dare I say....Steamy

Saffron - He was definitely taking charge too! From the moment he gave her a ride to her apt to the very end.

Jillian - It was so crazy that he had her move in within an hour of meeting her. I mean he knew of her but he didn't know her.

Noemi - Taryn surely make a connection with him that he just couldn't help himself. But hey for that apartment in Paris I'd move in in a heartbeat!

Saffron - Sounded like a gorgeous view!

Jillian - I wouldn't say no...especially after what she was supposed to live in.

Noemi - I loved the description of the Institute and the classes. Oh and Henri seemed pretty cute too.

Saffron - I was making a disgusting face the whole time she was in that apartment.

Jillian - I know I for sure had the scrunch face going on.

Saffron - Henri was such a nice guy!

Jillian - Henri seemed so adorable. The type of guy to really take care you and give you anything you want. But he wouldn't give you hot sex and passion.

Noemi - So true.
Saffron – He might though! He was passionate about food

Jillian - I liked Errol's tutoring skills...

Saffron - In the kitchen? oh yeah...

Jillian - Oh Yes and on the couch....

Noemi - They just didn't have the chemistry that Errol and Taryn had. Speaking of tutoring skills, can I just say DINING ROOM TABLE!!!! That scene made me drop my kindle!!

Saffron - Absolutely! But no spoilers! HAHAHA

Jillian - The Table Was OH MY GOD HOT!

Noemi - I'm not spoiling anything I'm just pointing out not to miss scenes lol

Saffron - Everyone should read it twice and take notes

Jillian - But I won't say anything to spoil it for you just be ready is all I have to say.

Noemi - Make sure you have extra batteries on hand lol

Jillian - HA!

Saffron - What did you think of Madame X?

Jillian - Ugh....Madame X... I pretty much hate her guts! Just sayin'

Noemi - I wanted to slap her silly. But then again she might like that.

Saffron - Punch her in the uterus more like it. Women like that send me over the edge.

Noemi - Unfortunately they like that fact that they get to you and take advantage of it.

Saffron - I was proud of Taryn for not breaking down, but man did I ever get mad!

Jillian - Yep, She liked that she was getting to Taryn. I hope in the second book Taryn puts that Bitch in her place!

Noemi - Oh they might want to sell tickets to that confrontation.

Jillian - I'd pay to see that Cat fight!

Saffron - Let's hope Errol doesn't let it get that far and makes Madame X go far away

Noemi - I sure hope so.

Jillian - I hope so too!

Noemi -I loved the description of Paris and the country side. Makes me want to jump on a plane now!

Jillian - It's sounds so beautiful and peaceful.

Saffron - Reminded me of a lot of my friends' farms back home. I want a picnic with cheese and wine now

Noemi - I just want to eat all the food they made lol

Jillian - I know right! I want to live with a world famous chef!

Saffron - I want Errol to cook for me... or Henri. Some hot French man

Jillian - Maybe both?....

Noemi - Now who's getting steamy lol

Saffron - Hmmm... Never thought of that! Errol was too jealous though! He can't share.

Jillian - This is true. He is crazy possessive.

Noemi - Ok I have to bring up what I'm calling the "incident". It left me heartbroken for both of them.

Saffron - I wanted to cry

Jillian - My heart was in my throat for sure...

Noemi - I'm dying to know what happens next. Thank goodness we don't have to wait too long for Savor Me to come out!

Saffron - I can't wait either!

Jillian - I know I can't wait. I have a feeling things are going to get very interesting.

Noemi - Well I give Devour Me 4.5 stars!!

Jillian - I am the same 4.5 Stars

Saffron - I give it 4 stars

I want inside Kailin Gow’s head – even for a small moment!! WOW – she really knows how to pull you into the story and never want to come out!!!

Devour Me is WOW!! Yes, I devoured this book in one-sitting. I sat down to read and didn’t get up til I was done!! And then I am left hanging – GAH!!!! But thankfully, there isn’t a long wait for the next book!!

From the very beginning, Taryn and Errol interested me. Taryn’s whole demeanor was different from other characters. She was confident when it came to her knowledge of the culinary world. But when it came to the world of relationships and sex, she was reserved and shy. However – when it came to Errol, she knew what she was doing and what it could cost her. But at the same time, in the heat of the moment, those consequences were forgotten. As the story progresses, she becomes more confident in herself and the affect she has on Errol.

Errol - YUMMY!! He knows he’s got the goods and how easily women are affected in his presence. He is a world-reknowned chef – so it’s only obvious people flock to him to begin with. But add the physique and his mannerisms and women are drawn to him like a magnet. Errol is just as meticulous in bedroom as he is in the kitchen. The man loves to keep his lovers well taken care of and always wanting to keep things lively. He is just all man!!

His sultry smile exposed perfectly aligned teeth that gleamed. His dark hair fell in thick curls almost to his shoulders and it wasn’t hard to understand how he landed the brief brief’s ad campaign. Dark, sexy and talented….perhaps even a spark of danger in his eyes; tempting danger.

Taryn has never met someone where she is this drawn to a man – even one man that she knows she needs to stay away from – her professor! Errol wanted her before he met her and he was going to make it happen. He was going to have her. Can Taryn survive being his student and lover?? Or will Errol push her too far??

The passion between these two is obvious from the beginning. Even though they both either tried to deny or fake disinterest – sex was imminent. And it is hot sex. Who would thought that kitchen utensils could turn you on??? It sounds far-fetched but read the book and you’ll see I am not lying.

“I can devour you all day,” Errol said, one lazy Sunday as they stayed in bed, making love from morning to night.

“Then devour me,” Taryn said, huskily

Errol grinned wickedly. “You don’t have to ask. Your taste is a constant aphrodisiac for me, Taryn.”

I was intrigued from the beginning as to how this was all going to pan out. Taryn has her reservations about the whole situation but doesn’t do a whole lot to prevent it from happening. Errol thoroughly enjoys making sure his lovers are well taken care of… but don’t think that he doesn’t have his own issues – jealousy, especially when it’s unexpected, can make you do crazy things.

Did he care? Really? She was just a… He inhaled deeply and reminded himself who he was. He could have any woman. Yes…but he wanted this one. He desired this one.

You must go buy this book!! You will DEVOUR it!!!

Errol King is a bit of an asshole.  But I sometimes like that.  He's a conceited, possessive, jealous, self absorbed, asshole.  Am I enticing you yet?  But he oozes confidence and it is well deserved.  You know from the beginning a man this jaded must have more than a few skeletons in his closet, and it was fun seeing some of those come out slowly in this book.  He's just the type of hero you want to see redeemed (after some good groveling).

And ah, Taryn Cummings.  You border on TSTL at times, but I have to blame it on your crush and infatuation that you let a man treat you the way he does.  As the book progresses, I think Taryn grows though.  And it was a nice surprise to see the ending.

I was surprised to see this was a student/teacher story!  Another one of my new addictions this year.  Taryn is from New York and goes to Paris to attend culinary school.  Errol is a Master Chef in charge of one of her classes.  He wanted her from the moment he saw her picture in her application and went to great lengths to immediately have her.  They maintained this relationship while still being student/teacher.  I think this angle was handled pretty well.

The chemistry between these two was great, and once I got over my initial shock and dislike about how the beginning of the book was setup, I ended up enjoying these two quite a bit.  It was more than a little hot.  Maybe that's just the foodie in me, but all the play in the kitchen and with food was scorchingly sensual!  Yes, I wanted Taryn to grow a pair of balls, but she was slowly getting there.  I know there's got to be more to find out about her as well, and I can't wait to get there.

I didn't realize this was a trilogy about the same couple, but this book ends in a cliffhanger and it's not the end of their story, so be warned of that.  I have no problems with that, but I know some people like to know that going in.

All in all, I was pleased with this book.  I enjoyed the story overall and I think the next installment will be even better.  This had exactly the feel I was craving.  Hot sex and kitchen fun mixed in for good measure.  You may never look at kitchen utensils the same way!  ;)

Taryn's dreams are coming true. She gets accepted to the International Institute of Culinary Arts her ultimate dream and her way to help her mom with their restaurant back in New York. Taryn has always dreamed of being a chef. She has a passion and drive that leads her all the way to Paris. As soon as she arrives at the institute she gets mulled by a dog and faced with a man who only speaks French. In walks Errol King. A world-renowned chef who is known to be not only hot and have a string of women but rumored to be a tough chef, comes to her rescue and captures Taryn's attention. Taryn has dreamed of meeting Errol since before she applied to the institute and now she finds herself with him.

Already having a bad day and coffee all over her clothing, Errol agrees to take Taryn to her new apartment. From the second they arrive there, Errol does not like what he sees. The apartment is in horrible condition and is unlivable. Errol purposes that Taryn come and stay with him and from the start he makes it clear that he wants Taryn in his bed. Taryn doesn't feel right living with her instructor, that is until Errol tells her that he needs a live in assistant and wants Taryn to be his assistant.

It isn't long before the relationship between Taryn and Errol grows and before long they are sharing a bed. But Errol has made it clear that he doesn't believe in love and that he doesn't do relationships. Taryn is determined to stay focused on her studies, but when tragedy strikes Errol she finds herself ready to run in the other direction. To make matters worse when not one but two of his ex's enter the picture, Taryn sees that she has competition that she cannot compare to. These women are walking, talking sex goddesses that have so much more experience than she does and she feels herself unable to compete with their attention towards him. Errol insists that he doesn't want anything to do with either one of them, but one of them makes it their personal mission to make her life a living hell. Will Errol be able to convince Taryn to stay in his bed and will Taryn be able to convince Errol that a relationship together is worth fighting for?

This book had me drawn toward it before I even opened it and started reading the first page. The cover, WOW I knew this was going to be a hot book. What I didn't expect was to need a fan and cold water on more than one occasion. I swear that I will NEVER look at the kitchen the same again after some of the scenes in this involving tools and food. Yes, tools AND food. This book was amazing and led right up to the second book Savor Me that I know is going to be just as amazing as the first book. Well worth the read and Kailin has a real hit on her hands with this series! 5 stars!

Errol King is a bit of an asshole. But I sometimes like that. He’s a conceited, possessive, jealous, self absorbed, asshole. Am I enticing you yet? But he oozes confidence and it is well deserved. You know from the beginning a man this jaded must have more than a few skeletons in his closet, and it was fun seeing some of those come out slowly in this book. He’s just the type of hero you want to see redeemed (after some good groveling).

Maybe that’s just the foodie in me, but all the play in the kitchen and with food was scorchingly sensual! Yes, I wanted Taryn to grow a pair of balls, but she was slowly getting there. I know there’s got to be more to find out about her as well, and I can’t wait to get there.

I didn’t realize this was a trilogy about the same couple, but this book ends in a cliffhanger and it’s not the end of their story, so be warned of that. I have no problems with that, but I know some people like to know that going in.

All in all, I was pleased with this book. I enjoyed the story overall and I think the next installment will be even better. This had exactly the feel I was craving. Hot sex and kitchen fun mixed in for good measure. You may never look at kitchen utensils the same way! ;)

Favorite Quotes:

“Forget everything you hear. Forget everything you’ve seen. Forget everything you’ve tasted. Forget everything you can touch. Just feel.”

He brought the bottle above her heaving breasts and let the thick dark liquid slide into her cami. “I want you to remember how molasses looks…how it feels.”

I am totally digging Kailin Gow's new adult books. She did an excellent job with Devour Me. I loved the first book in In The Masters Chef series. I was hooked from the beginning. The characters pulled me in right away and I loved the premise of the story. I've never been to Paris but while reading this book I felt like I was there.

Taryn is excited to be studying in Paris under Errol King. He is a renowned chef and she is looking forward to learning from him. They have a chance meeting and he offers her a place to stay in return she will have to be his live in assistant. Not what she was expecting at all. They are both very passionate and their attraction is undeniable. Will her sweet and innocent demeanor be enough for Errol's bad boy ways.

I enjoyed the interactions between Taryn and Errol. She is young and care free and seemed to bring out a different side of Errol. It was nice to see the humor in this story as well as the seriousness of their situation. Taryn came to Paris to become a better chef. She struggles through out the book with her feelings for Errol. They can't avoid the deep feelings that are formed in the short time that they are together. Plus you can imagine what kind of trouble that they could get themselves in. He is first and for most her instructor.

I think it was important to me that the relationship between them wasn't forced. I believed what was happening between them was something very special. There were some very great moments between them. I was excited to learn that the next book in the series will be released soon. I believe that this series will be a definite must read. I was not only captivated by the story, but I fell in love with the wonderful characters.

So there you have it go get your copy. This book is not only well written, but it will leave you wanting more. I can't wait to see what Kailin comes up with next.

Devour Me by Kailin Gow follows Taryn as she travels from New York City to Paris to study at a world-renowned cooking institute. It is here at the institute that she meets Errol King, who is not only a world famous chef and one of her professors, but he is also young, sexy, and very into Taryn. So, what can go wrong when you have food, sex, and Paris? Oh wait, there’s that small pesky issue of a possible inappropriate teacher-student relationship, but who really cares?

Taryn takes on the task of becoming Errol’s assistant and this includes moving into his apartment. There is an obvious attraction between the two of them but it is not immediately acted upon. Gow writes in such a manner that the cat and mouse game that they play with one another is captivating. But, once their relationship does become physical is hot and steamy.

“’No other man should hear you laugh the way I do. No other man should please you the way I do. No other man should touch you. I’m the only man, Taryn. ‘His lovemaking had become more ardent. ‘I’m the only man, do you understand me?’”

What I appreciate about this book is not only is it erotica, but there is a storyline. The vulnerability and insecurity that Taryn possesses are characteristics that mimic real life. And, on the flip side, the jealousy, the possessiveness, the trust issues, the vulnerability, and sensitivity that Errol exhibits all make him seem like a real man. Devour Me is a book that I finished in one setting and it definitely left me interested and wanting to know what’s next for Taryn and Errol. As, I previously asked, what can go wrong when you have food, sex, and Paris???

DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of Devour Me in exchange for an honest review.

With this book Kailin is upping the temperatures. There is a lot cooking in this book but it is not all happening in the kitchen. There are other places getting just as much attention as the kitchen.

Taryn is set to attend culinary school in Paris. She has come to study under the best chef in the world Errol King. Errol King is tall, strong and imposing, with piercing blue eyes and dark hair. As Taryn arrives in Paris she finds that the apartment she has rented is not suitable. Errol steps in and offers her a place to stay. She becomes his assistant and his student. He has much to teach her in culinary skills. He also has other skills he wishes to teach her. The two of them are so hot together that one of them just may get burned. As time goes by and situations intensify Taryn isn't so sure Paris is the place to be and Errol may be too hot to handle. Taryn decides to return home to New York but running away from your feelings isn't always the answer. I have a feeling that things on the homefront are not going to be too comforting. There is some hidden memory that inadvertently gets Taryn running. This is not a stand alone book so there is much more in store for the reader. More Taryn and Errol. Of course there is. There is no way we could be left hanging.

I'd like to mention that kitchen utensils have taken on a new meaning and cornfields are now going to make me blush.

Well as always Kailin Gow has ones again did it! She has taking a story and made it amazing and I thank her for all the work she does! If you have not read her books GET on it she has some unforgettable ones!

Devour Me, what can I say the tittle says it ALL! Some food a little sex it all just goes together so well! RIGHT! Taryn is in a city she does not know, but heading to the one place she feels at home at. The International Institute of Culinary Arts in Paris! She will get the knowledge she needs to bring back to help her in her family’s restaurant but the instructor Errol King, one of the hottest chefs she knows will be HER very own instructor. But she is determined to stay focused and learn all she can and she promises her mother before she goes she will not be distracted! Oh but lets say when she gets to Paris and she is faced first with the one man she would not let distract her, Errol.

This is one HOT ride that’s for sure. And when Taryn and Errol’s relationship goes form stranger to hot lovers you will not want to stop! Taryn goes feet first but Errol does not want more and she does not know what to do. But I think this I most female male relationships! It’s a steamy read and a on the edge of your seat kind of read as well. You will be sucked in form page one and never stop till the end. Gow always makes sure you feel part of the book and never want for more! Get ready to be hot and bothered by this one and be begging for more in the end!

I signed up for the Book Tour for Savor Me and decided to read it without reading Devour Me first which I thought was doable. The author made it where it was easy to catch on so I can be done if needed. But after reading Savor Me (Book 2) I just had to backtrack and read this one too. I got so caught up in the drama between Taryn and Errol and wanted to know more. I am sure you will too so if you had a choice in the matter, read this one first. Believe me you won’t regret it.

In this book it tells us how the Taryn and Errol met, describes how their daily interactions were, how their relationship starts from something professional into the physical and finally into something perhaps more. The teacher-student concept may be awkward for some but in this story it was never an issue for them to keep things separate. There was the occasional heated looks between the two in the kitchen but Taryn was talented enough that she never needed Errol’s influence to prove herself to anyone.

I loved how they fit perfectly. The chemistry between them was outrageous. Never have I found food play and cooking utensils that interesting. Who would have thought that a lemon reamer ….oh nevermind. Since this was Taryn’s first relationship I thought she may have over reacted in the end which leads to one crazy cliffhanger but as you know book 2 – Savor Me is now available.

So mix food and sex two of the best things in the world and how can you go wrong. Well author Kailin Gow definitely got it right with the first book of her Master Chefs series, Devour Me.

Taryn in a young lady from New York city who thinks she is a tough city girl when in actuality she is a young naive young girl. She decides to travel to Paris to attend a world renowned culinary institute and learn from one of the most honored chefs to try and help her small family restaurant back home. But her first day in the new city is not all its cracked up to be. She has a run in with a over active dog which spills coffee all over her and then finds the apartment she rented to live in for the next several months not habitable at all.

Enter Errol her sexy chef instructor and savior of the day. He offers Taryn a place to stay, his home, in exchange for her taking a job as his assistant. However you can tell from the start hat he want more from her than just her help with his upcoming book. He wants her, and he is one sexy alpha male.

I love the interaction the two of them have in this book I like the way Taryn matures and grows. And I love the sexy use of some kitchen utensils.

This was one amazing book and my only complaint was the cliffhanger ending but since book two is waiting for me on my kindle I guess I can’t really complain at all! :-)

After traveling to Paris to study at the International Institute of Culinary Arts, Taryn Cummings meets her mentor and "hero", chef Errol King. She plans to take everything she learns at the institute and incorporate it in the restaurant her mother owns in New York City. She didn't plan on meeting and falling into a serious and sex crazed induced relationship with Errol.

Everything seems to be going well for both of them. He teaches her much more than she ever planned on learning. Errol realizes that Taryn has some real talent in the kitchen. While the kitchen is heating up, the bedroom is even hotter!

Taryn and Errol part ways after a traumatizing experience leaves Taryn doubting her decisions. She runs away immediately and returns back to New York.

I enjoyed Errol's alpha tendencies at first, but at the end of the book, they seemed to cross a line. It bordered on obsessive and wasn't attractive or sexy at all. I'm still not sure what the hell happened in that final scene. We don't really get an idea of why Taryn freaked out so bad or what the hell Errol was thinking leaving her strapped up like that when she was obviously so distressed.

I've picked up the second book in this series and look forward to continuing Taryn and Errol's story.

I was provided an ARC copy to give an unbiased review for this book. Let me tell you, this book is definitely worth the read!!

An innocent city girl, Taryn sets off to Paris to go to school at the prestigious Institute where she will advance her culinary skills from the best in the world. When she arrives, she finds a mess of an apartment to live in. Lucky for her, the super hot and uber talented world famous chef Errol is there to rescue her. Her offers her the chances of a lifetime and she accepts. She is naive and unaware of just how much life experience she will gain here. Their relationship is passionate and exciting. Taryn, however, is so innocent it's a bit much for her to grasp. She is young and insecure about herself. Without giving away plot details, I am shocked with how this book ended and can't wait for more!! This is one of my favorite Kailin Gow books, and I've loved everyone I've read up to now. I am super excited about this series!! July can't get here fast enough!!

Tarryn is from New York City and decides to move to Paris to attend the prestigious Institute of the Culinary Arts to help make her family restaurant into something spectacular. But once she gets to Paris, things start to go downhill fast. In steps Errol King, super-star Chef, instructor and Adonis. Tarryn knows about his reputation as a player, but when her place to stay falls through and she is offered a job at Chef King's assistant, she takes it knowing it's probably a bad idea.

As the two spend more time together, their passion for each food and each other grows. This book is book #1 in the series and so there really isn't much else I can say about the story line without giving away too much. I did enjoy the book and am looking forward to book #2. The character are engaging and it was a quick read that held me captive. I would definitely recommend this series. Can't wait to see what is on the horizon for this hot couple.

Overall, this series is cute and has a decent premise, 2.5 star read.

Errol, the main male character is what is most engaging about the book - he's alpha, possessive, arrogant, rich, and a playboy. The dynamic between him and innocent virgin Taryn was steamy but unfortunately the plot was very loosely held together, several editing issues, and scenes were jumpy lacking smooth transitions and leaving gaps in time and clarity. In this first book, there meeting alone is a bit far fetched and things progress very quickly. Missing details

For 99 cents, no buyer remorse, but needs some substantial polishing to earn a 3-5 star rating in my opinion.

Full Review posted on Book Lovin' Mamas

I will never look at my kitchen the same way again after reading Devour Me. I will never look at some of my utensils the same way after certain scenes in this book.

Kailin Gow gives a very steamy erotic book that will make your heart pound and emotions go haywire.
She then makes sure to leave you hanging at the epilogue. At least we will not have to wait long for the next story. =)

I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to be contemporary and erotic readers out there.
I am going to warn you though...you may become hungry, thirsty, and very hot after reading this book. I stayed up until 2 am to finish it...bad idea on my part.

I ate this book up sooo fast! This may be the fastest I've read a book without skimming at all in FOREVER - but I was determined to finish it the same night I started it!

I saw the book trailer for this and HAD TO READ IT. Got to the end and was met with a lovely cliffhanger - but fortunately #2 is out soon. I'll be reading it the day it's released!

In the meantime, looks like I need to check out other Kailin Gow books....

This book is steamy - but not as steamy as I expected after reading the first chapter - which is good because it actually has a solid story and is not all sex.

As an added bonus - you learn a little bit about cooking and cooking utensils in this book. I had no idea what a "lemon reamer" was or what it looked like - but I DO now.... Oh my!

I devoured Devour Me! I haven't read many erotic stories because most of them are like watching Grade C, XXX rated movies. But Ms. Gow certainly has the dialogue and suspense-building scene writing down pat. There is definitely a good story here, not just eroticism, and the two together are explosive. Now I can't wait to read book 2 in this series. Wow! Taryn and Errol show their vulnerabilities and strengths in this moving story, culminating in a cliff-hanging ending that leaves the reader wanting MORE...and reaching for Book 2 to continue their saga. I can't help comparing this series to another famous one--50 Shades of Grey--that I just can't quit with the first book. I gotta see how this ends! Readers won't be disappointed with this roller coaster ride of a romance.

Now this was one of those books that takes you completely by surprise and I absolutely loved it!

It was hot & spicy and had a very interesting use of kitchen tools ;)
I'd definitely recommend picking it up!

It has everything you would expect from an erotic novella - heat, angst, masculine possessiveness but it teams that up with a strong female who is not going to let a man walk over her and do what is expected of her! It makes for an explosive combination and throwing in the other characters to add even more tension, jealousy and emotions. It was definitely one for the keeper shelf!
