Defying Gravity

Rate this book
In 2001, two extraterrestrials became stranded on Earth when their spacecraft narrowly escaped capture in the Wyoming desert. Befriended by a human family, the Blackwells, Aldi and his daughter, Sara, have managed to live a peaceful, albeit secluded, life. Aldi longs for the return of his wife, and Sara dreams of the mother she has never known. Now, fifteen years later, the ship returns, triggering a chain of events that threatens the happy family reunion. The United States military responds to what it believes is an alien invasion. An otherworldly being with an ancient score to settle sees it as an opportunity to turn the tide in a cosmic battle. And a young man learns that the girl of his dreams isn’t exactly what she seems.

There is a lot more to life than meets the eye. This idea has been the driving force behind my writing for two decades. My realistic science-fiction imagines life on other worlds, interplanetary friendship and the possibilities offered by time travel into the past. My non-fiction books explore the reality of faith, spirituality and the Christian experience.

Born in California, I spent my early years in Alaska and Nevada. After completing my formal education at Charleston Southern University and Southeastern Baptist Teological Seminary, I served as an associate pastor at local churches in Wyoming, Tennessee and Virginia. I am a full-time writer and play the electric guitar.

This is truly an amazing read. I am inspired to go back and read Blackwell to fill in the gaps for things I may have forgotten.

The characters are filled with a depth, warmth, and realism that makes them difficult to leave behind at the end of the book. The story telling is compelling, laced with humor, action, and well crafted language.

Without being heavy handed, the theological implications of the book are significant.

Cannot recommend Blackwell and Defying Gravity highly enough.

Another great adventure

The Blackwell series is an amazing series of books telling a story about people from another world with a Spiritual message. These books are full of adventure and heart. The characters are very easy to fall in love with and each book leaves you wanting more.
