Der Robot-Sergeant jagt Unsichtbare - ein neuer Einsatz der Abteilung III
Man schreibt das Jahr 2114 irdischer Zeitrechnung. Für die Erdmenschen sind also seit der erfolgreichen Mondlandung einer Rakete mit chemischem Antrieb, dem Auftakt der echten Weltraumfahrt, noch nicht einmal anderthalb Jahrhunderte vergangen.
Trotz dieser nach kosmischen Zeitmaßen unglaublich kurzen Spanne hat es das von Perry Rhodan geschaffene und geleitete Solare Imperium fertiggebracht, zu einem Eckpfeiler galaktischer Macht zu werden.
Natürlich fanden die Terraner bei ihrer sich selbst gestellten Aufgabe wichtige Helfer - denken wir nur an den Arkoniden Crest und das Energiewesen von Wanderer, an Atlan, Harno, die Swoon und Gucky, den Mausbiber! - Doch wäre diese Aufgabe nie vollbracht worden ohne den selbstlosen, opferbereiten Einsatz all der Terraner, die die Sehnsucht nach den Sternen im Herzen trugen.
Die durch das vernichtende Wirken der positronisch-biologischen Roboter in der Galaxis geschaffene Lage hat sich etwas entspannt. Die Allianz zwischen Terra, den Arkoniden und den Akonen ist vertraglich festgelegt. Damit hat Perry Rhodan den Rücken frei, zumal die Akonen bislang ihre heimtückischen Anschläge, für die sie berüchtigt sind, unterlassen.
Doch dann geschehen auf Aptulad, einer Welt in den Tiefen der Galaxis, unheilvolle Dinge. Ein sterbender Báalol-Diener macht einige diesbezügliche Aussagen - und Nike Quintos Agenten werden in den Einsatz geschickt.

He was killed in an accident in Florida in 1993, aged 59.

Конфликт с позби в этой книге уступает конфликту с лоринами, в итоге удаётся узнать, что они из себя представляют, когда они не невидимые. Отряд III традиционно отправляется на невыполнимую миссию, которую парни чуть не проваливают, если бы не вмешательство построенного гражданина. Читается книга легко, так как там сплошной экшен, который, правда, для сюжета мало что даёт. С другой стороны перегружать такой формат лором было бы тоже не очень хорошо. Видно, что оба конфликта подходят к концу, но пока не понятно, кому достанется сильнее.

Molol, an Anti priest of the Bâalol cult, runs away from the planet Aptulad, the fourth planet of the Aptut system. Pursued by several other Antis, he has almost given up all hope before being rescued by a Springer ship at the last minute. The Springer ship is attacked but saved by the intervention of a Terran cruiser. Molol has just enough time to warn the Terrans that some strangers appeared on Aptulad and that all civilizations of the Milky Way are threatened. He dies before saying anything else.
Nike Quinto, the chief of Action Division Section III, is informed and sends his best agents on a mission to Aptulad. Quinto himself makes the spaceship EUDOXIA his flagship and follows the ANASTASIA, an old vessel with Ron Landry, Larry Randall, Lofty Patterson and Meech Hannigan on board. The ANASTASIA crashes on the surface of Aptulad, after having allowed the commando team to infiltrate.
Meech Hannigan enters the base but he is tracked by the Antes. He easily escapes them and is confronted temporarily by an invisible creature. He then helps his three companions to penetrate into the base. There are not any doubts now: some Laurins are in the base.
In fact, a Lauren vessel landed a short time before and finished an agreement with the Supreme Bâalol. To get rid of the Terrans, the Laurins emit a paralyzing mental field. The agents of Section III capture some Antes whose powers neutralize the field. They then cause confusion among the Laurins and capture several of them. They confront some Antes who they defeat and scare into submission. All the same, only the treason of the Anti priest Dilan in favor of the Terrans allows them to flee. It is he who had allowed Molol to flee.
They reach their small space worthy lifeboat but stumble into a trap of the Antes. Fortunately, they are saved by the EUDOXIA, carrying away with them three Laurin prisoners.

Uff. Jedes Mal wenn ich einen Mahr beginne versuche ich mit aller Macht bei der Stange zu bleiben, aber ich schaffe es einfach nicht. Spätestens nach 20 Seiten schweife ich mit den Gedanken ab und muss mich dazu zwingen den Rest noch irgendwie durchzuhalten. Sein Schreibstil ist so derart langweilig dass ich mich frage warum man so sehr an ihn klammerte, und das sogar über den Pazifik hinweg, auch wenn das bedeutete dass er sich nie so recht aktiv an den laufenden Storylines beteiligen konnte. Jemand anderes ließ sich im Umland damals nicht finden? Ehrlich nicht?

Mijn favoriete team (op dit ogenblik) in aktie. Vermoedelijk steken de afleveringen met dit viertal uit boven de rest door het toevoegen van de nodige humor aan de spannende aktie. De karakters zijn niet zo superman-achtig, dat gedoe wordt overgelaten aan Meech - die is er op gebouwd. En des te vaker er op gewezen wordt dat Meech een robot is, des te sympathieker en menselijker komt hij over.
