Author Mike Farrell is a close friend of mine from college. He created a college much like ours for the setting of this book, and he told me "its not all fact, westerholt," i quickly replied, "its not all fiction either."
I enjoyed reading this book so much, not only because it was like jumping in a time machine, back to the best years of my life, but because i relate to the idealism and confusion of its hero- who (as much as he may fight me on this...) is not ANY more idealistic than the fine author himself.

Mike is the older brother of one of my good friend's sister, now fiance. This is a great piece of work that if you're from Buffalo, NY, or have spent a period of time there like I have attending the same school Mike did than this book will be very close to you heart. A wonderful read if you went to St. Bonaventure or if you're from Buffalo.

My cousin wrote this book and I thought it was awesome for a first book! I had a lot of fun reading it because, even though it was very loosely based on his life, I could pick out who my aunt, uncle, grandpa, and cousins were supposed to be.

I didn't get very far into this book before I gave up. It was epic in its awfulness. I appreciate that the author loves his hometown, which is also my hometown, but that wasn't enough to sustain interest. The book has many typos and errors and the constant barrage of Buffalo, sports and musical references quickly grew irritating. It screams for a good editor.

Takes a bit to get rolling but is an inspiring story for running coaches. If you don't like the sport of running, do not read this book :)

Story could have been told in forty pages or less. The meat of the story was good, but reading it was like going on a date with a sports enthusiast.
