This appears to be the last book in the series and concentrates on the developing love between Jenni and Dominic. The war between the Alliance and Amalgamation is brought to an end following a fatal attack on the hierarchy of one of the groups, but which side is the victor?
Despite the Amalgamation doing business with Dominic, Vic refuses to allow Jenni to mate/marry Dominic on account of him not being a werewolf or kin folk. In order to appease Dominic and not upset the business deal, Vic sets Dominic a task that he doesn't believe Dominic will ever be able to achieve but states that if Dominic is successful, he will give their marriage his blessing.
There is an kidnap attempt on Mica for a 4th time and we learn that Scott and Anna are not who they appear to be (again!). In this book, we are introduced to two new characters - Asha who is Scott and Anna's cousin and Tyson who is a supernatural being and a long term friend of Dominic's. He is also the stuff of legends although that doesn't seem to scare off Jenni's teenage son Gable who begins to idolise him.
Jake makes an unwelcome reappearance and his actions this time around have Vic, Scott and Dominic vowing to kill him. His input on a mission causes an entire squad to be wiped out but who suffers the loss... the Alliance or the Amalgamation?
I've said that this appears to be the final book in the series and that's because there are loose ends that need tying up. This book introduced two new characters and the series has included werewolves, werewolf kin, shaman, witches and supernatural beings. As well as the on-going war being fought, Anna and Mica who are both pregnant, have started a feminist movement in a fight for equality against the archaic lycan laws. And one of the women in the Amalgamation gives birth to a baby with a surprising supernatural ability that helps to save it's life.
I have criticised some aspects of the series, but hope that the loose ends in this one do, indeed, lead to another book or a new series.
