Great book with such a variety of Christian women -- missionaries and hymn writers were predominate. Some women I knew and admired, some not so much, but they all made contributions that were clearly documented. It was helpful to know the years they lived and their nations of birth and service. The problems they faced were many and varied. Again, I was reminded that 'there are no charmed lives,' but these women were faithful to their callings.
