Hawke and Stryker book #1
With 7 series in his library adding one more seemed to have been a breeze for Mr. Patterson. He has his formulae pat down to a tee and once again has giving us a new series with all the excitement we have come to expect and once again provided us with an action packed thriller introducing his new players: New York’s toughest PIs, former forces operatives Axtion Hawke and Kael Stryker.
When a mundane corporate espionage case lands on their desk and soon a sinister turn of events starts after their client is threatened, they then find themselves entangled in ruthless cartels, corrupt politicians and crooked cops.....Buckle up for a high-octane read.....
I am a huge fan of this author and have read all of his 47 books so far and plan to follow up in the future. I know his style will have a lot of action, lots of shooting, killings, lots of Kung foo style action, bad guys galore and good guys heroes and let’s not forget a story that is exciting and fast pace. “Blackfire” follows the same pattern as all of Mr. Patterson books. I know by now to be in the mood for this kind of stories in order to enjoy every moment.
Once started, the story captured my attention immediately and held it throughout. I like the new players, Hawke and Stryker, PIs with flair and ethics what is not to like. They are well-done and their action is in tune with their profession. To tight things up a bit, cameo appearance from Zeb and his team always here to save the day.... This is a good first outing for these two guys.
Although I like this new series and was such a thrilling experience to pass time reading it, I have to admit it is not my preferred series and this by far.

This is a new series by Mr Patterson. Those who have already read his novels will have no problem getting into the mood from the first page itself. It's another story with lots of action and twists.
Having said that, I couldn't ignore the feeling that Hawke possesses some of the characteristics of Zeb and Cutter...

A FANTASTIC FIRST RELEASE IN A POTENTIALLY GREAT NEW SERIES
It is my privilege, and honor, to have been a "Beta Reader" for author Ty Patterson's newest release "Blackfire" and in my opinion it is the very best "New Release" I have read this year and is first in line for being my choice for "Best Book of 2023".
"Blackfire" had me totally captured before the end of the first chapter, and I remained so throughout the rest of the book. I found the characters to be strong, and well developed, and their actions in tune with the plotline as the action intensified, and the story continued. It was hard to put down, even to eat. I even refused to take phone calls while I was reading it.
I am loathe to state too much about the plotline, other than it is excellent, as I'm not a big fan of spoilers, and I'm afraid if I state too much, I may ruin it for someone. That said, the :Author's Blurb" is quite descriptive, and does not contain "spoilers" so I highly recommend reading it as it should give you, the prospective reader, enough information to determine whether it is "your cup of tea". Or not. Your choice. Frankly if you do decide to read it then I sincerely believe you will not be disappointed. I certainly wasn't, (and I did not have the benefit as a Beta Reader, of the "Author's Blurb".
My congratulations to the Author, Ty Patterson, for creating a new cast of characters in what has the potential to become another great, and long running series. At least I hope so because I am looking forward to reading them.

Blackfire is an extraordinary book of a new series by Ty Patterson
Two former officers of US Special Forces, Axton "Ax" Hawke and Kael Stryker, are partners in a Private Investigations company. Ax is a door-kick opener type person and Kael has specialties in other areas.
This book starts with Louisa entering their office and asking them to investigate her boss whom she believes is selling their research of Lumina, a bio-technology company. In other words: an espionage case.
After they take this case, Ax and Kael goes gangbusters with ceaseless action with and from from a variety of groups: Gina Difore and Peyton Quindica, two operative heads of a federal Joint Task Force; Piazza and Chang, two celebrated first grade detectives of the NYPD; and members of two international crime families; and others.
This book is full of non-stop action. Be prepared if you start reading this book because you'll find yourself not wanting to stop for any reason whatsoever!

Blackfire by Ty Patterson due 9/26/23 5 stars
Ax & Hawke
I knew when I saw the author's name I was gonna enjoy this one. I didn't know how much! Ax and Hawke are amazing characters and fit right in with Zeb and his crew. They have access to some of the High (and I mean High) tech that helps them fight the really bad guys and save the good ones.
The author describes fight scenes so you feel right in the middle. The two most famous PIs in the city have their hands through and no one, not even them, is sure they are gonna make it out alive. Right, a world-famous assassin wants them gone along with the original assignment. No one is coming out of this unscathed.
Their client happens to be related to an agent from an ABC agency. Will that help or hinder?
Another amazing book. New good guys. Lots of bad guys. A read that will keep you reading and wanting more

Ax Hawk and Kael Striker are two ex special operators who open their own PI business in New York. With friends like Zeb Carter & Crew among others they are unstoppable. When they are hired to look into a corporate conspiracy they soon find their lives in danger along with their client from a u known group of deadly terrorists. The deeper they go the more complex the case becomes. This is a real page turner for you non stop action junkies like me ! With a colorful cast of characters, non stop action/intrigue/mystery and an awesome storyline you will NOT be able to put this one down ! Great beginning to a new series !

Excellent start to a new series. Axton Hawke and Kael Stryker's newest client brings them what she believes is a case of corporate espionage. As the investigation progresses the twists, turns, and consequences become more deadly. Hawke and Stryker have a few friends and their toys that you may know from the Zeb Carter, Warriors series. Who, if called upon are willing to help these two investigators as they bring those guilty to justice.
Hawke and Stryker are an interesting duo and I look forward to tagging along on more of their investigations.

Hawke and Stryker are NY PI's, both with extensive military experience. The lawyer for a pharmaceutical company wants to hire them to investigate the company's head man as he is acting strange after the company was just bought out by another company and the lawyer feels there is something shady going on. Then the lead researcher goes missing. China, the Triad and corporate espionage are all involved...what could go wrong...

This is a great start to a new series. As with this author's previous series, you can count on a story that may appear to be simple at the start but evolves into something more complex and with plenty of twists and action. Hawke and Stryker are an interesting mix of characters and I look forward to getting to know them more.

New characters added to the Zeb Carter universe. Ax and Karl enter the scene as PI’s in New York City and quickly prove they are as explosive and action filled as any other characters Ty Pattterson has shared in his stories. Missing people, corruption, and other challenges due the action start to finish.

First book in Ty's new series.
As always, Ty's writing is exceptional. Great characters and a plot that instantly draws you in and keeps you reading.
My only gripe about it, is that it is set within the Zeb Carter world (I love Zeb and his team by the way,) the story feels a bit samey because of this. I personally would have preferred it to be set as a stand alone series.

Read the book in a day. It is fast moving & detailed. Kael & Ax are brains & brawn working together to help others. Loved the involvement with Sen & the gang. Great job, Ty. Can't wait for the next

No quite as good as the Zen Carter books. Still very good, 4.5 stars, and engaging. I loved all the cameo's.

Hawke and Stryker are a great addition to The Agency. First I hope there is never a weapon like that released. If there ever is I hope The Agency is around. In fact the world could use them now.

More American superheroes thwarting the bad guys. The book is written in a very simple 1940's style
which makes it easy to read but in no way intellectually challenging. Not an author I'd follow.

Erm...actually it takes on several new dimensions. Lethal ones. Each and every single one.
Ax and Kael are private investigators. It is, however, who they were that makes a difference. And more so who they know and befriended...Like Zeb Carter. And some very well known females from Zeb's office. And the FBI. And new ones, like Louisa.
As regular readers of action thriller maestro Ty Patterson's will immediately recognise.
Except, this time the stakes in Blackfire got raised very much higher. Sky high.
