This book shows the role the US played after WWII and its foreign policy towards the new world order after the war, but is it really a world after a war, many wars were fought and some still are :/ all The US was involved in somehow :/
Its policy toward the Middle East considered a big screw up, it couldn't end the conflict and it started new ones across the region, to consider the whole region as a war zone since then :/ and along the years, to look to the region as a big oil well that needed to be protected no matter what :/ no matter how many people die in the process only to protect the well :/
The book also showed the change of foreign policies with each new elected president but they all lead to a new war in some region on Earth :/, their views to the middle east are flawed and they suffered a lot from that, aiding extremist and dictators across the region to serve their purposes :/
The Road to Tahrir Square from their point of view, before the rise of Nasser and to the fall of Mubarak, you see what happened in Palestine and the American contribution to replace Great Britain in the region helping the new state of Israel to survive in this region arming and helping it with any means necessary.
How they saw Nasser as a spike in their throats, Sadat as their man in region and after it Mubarak...
To see how dependant we are on any foreign aids, that we can't as nation survive without it and how many of these aids gone to the wrong pockets to please some generals :/ to see that we were being controlled for a long time by military men that ensure the stability of the region and the safety of Israel regardless of any internal problems :/
To see our so called revolution in 25 Jan. turned into a people welcomed coup, to be ruled by the same military counsel and after a so called "free election" we got another people welcomed coup :/ many people died for better life but I think in this region there is no such a thing :/ there will always be wars and there will always be suffering :/ in this region :/
What happened to the Arab Spring ??? a series of political assassination in Tunisia, a coup d'etat in Egypt, the return of the old regime in Yemen, gangs of extremist in Libya and an ongoing war with the usage of chemical weapons in Syria :/ :/ :/
