Dear Author,
I'm new to town, just got out of the Navy - back from the middle east. I moved here to be close to my brother and he's only lived here a couple years. I'm looking for a job and trying to get settled, but some of my habits from the Navy have carried over into civilian life. Like I can't sleep at night until I've closely checked the neighborhood out and made sure its safe. And to what did my wondering eyes appear...

I shouldn't have liked this but I ended up loving it. Like holy molehill I loved it.
Why I shouldn't have liked it (spoilers ahead warning):
• First person present tense- Didn't bother me once. I didn't need time to adjust or get used to it. It sucked me in right away and never let go. The narrator voice was perfect.
• Fantasy sex- but drizzle from my nizzle it was HOT! Omg I was not expecting that level of heat. And the scene had an actual point. I think that's why I didn't mind it being a fantasy, because through his fantasy he came to several realizations about himself and what he needs. So super hot with a purpose, how could I hate that?
• Where's the dialogue?- I love dialogue but this story had like almost none. And I didn't flipping care. I liked being inside the narrators head too much to notice little things which would normally drive me nuts. The parts of this story just all add up and work flawlessly together, I don't know how else to explain it but like that.
• Mc's don't interact- And yet I felt like I got to know them both. And it ends and I just have the feeling everything works out beautifully between them once they meet.
• BDSM- but it's one of those parts that just works and you know it's the control/discipline the characters need. And it was nothing heavy so it didn't bother me at all.
I think that's most of what I shouldn't like plus why I liked it. I recommend people try this FREE short story because it really is good. Yes it's short but reading it feels like you're listening to your dearest friend tell you a very personal story about their self discovery.
Be a good friend and check this story out.

A voyeuristic sexual fantasy, hottish, unexpected and it didn't creep me out. Calvincools heats his heels in anticipation because his conviction is solid. The mission is to meet the Dom and its nearly in the bag, the only problem is, I wish the author had included it in the story. I can only use my imagination and think there would have been a whole lot of fireworks. Its a teaser that I hope will be explored further.

I don't think people realize how difficult it is to make a first-person narrative work?
When done well, you are allowed into a character's head and see the world through his eyes. He might not even be aware that you're sharing his thoughts. When done wrong, you'll have a nagging suspicion that the author is actually talking through the MC, because his thoughts ring false. When done terribly wrong, the author gives the narrative to a tough, navy dude and allows him tell you this:
"Sitting above my chin are some of my best assets; my lips are soft and plump. The color not really red-based but more like bronzed peach and the arches and curves nearly perfect. But the best part, the thing that drives people wild, is the little shadowed dip that forms just below my full bottom lip."
Creepy stalker tendencies, voyeurism, a journey into DS territory, a tough, somewhat damaged military bloke; what was not to anticipate here? Unfortunately, Routine Watch turned out to be a disappointment. Besides the writing, which is at times decent, but more often dramatic ("I can't stop the huge sigh that escapes through my parted lips, "The muscles of my ass squeezing and releasing, wanting some of that action") this story was a choppy mess.
Truth to be told, there are promising parts that hint at something better, but in the end, the author appeared to give up finding a proper way for her narrator to meet the man he wanted to meet, a dom. Maybe she didn't have a clue how to continue her MC's mission to get in touch with the man he stalked. Maybe she got bored and wanted to skip to the sex. Maybe she just ran out of time. Whatever the case, she suddenly plastered on a BDSM scene between the MC and the dom instead.
And then, of course, the MC woke up and it was all a dream!
Which, I admit, killed the tension of waiting for him and the dom to get together quite nicely.

I can't believe how much I enjoyed a story without any actual secondary character interaction. This story is told completely from Calvin's POV, and I found I really liked that for a change.
This poor guy suffers from ADHD but has never medicated for it. He left the Navy when he had the opportunity to, but has yet to find a way to relpace the balance the Navy provided in battling his ADHD. He comes up with a solution when he spies a couple of guys going at it roughly in a neighboring apartment building while checking out the neighborhood with his big fancy binochs.
I loved how he did the research and thought being a dom was the answer to his problems, only to find out submitting was really what he craved. I can't wait to see how is full mission plays out. Great job making this prompt come to life as well.

May 26, 2013I really loved this story. And not just because it has a brief cameo appearance by Rick & Ashley from A Dirty Drag Collection but because it was great. It's a short story that packs a lot of punch and I think people will really like it.

This is a shorty from Love Has NO Boundaries M/M GR. Loved it!
5 Stars for sure. It's basically a "light bulb" moment written for us to enjoy from the POV of a retired Navy Seal. The movements, the internal thoughts, the actions etc were so well put together and I'll admit I felt some excitement being a co-pilot in his "voyeurism" journey.
We learn the name of his Gun, and his brother's name and the 2 hotties in his binoculars even have a name :P but I don't recall learning his name?? It's his POV which makes it very plausible but now I'm wondering if my short term memory is shot! :P
Not sure if the author will continue the story but I hope she does :D

This is kinda creepy in that this guy is a voyeur and his actions border on stalker-ish as he starts to obsess over one of his neighbors. Call it falling in lust by binoculars -- I love how the Swaroski binoculars are a character in the story. In fact, the MC doesn’t interact with anyone nearly as much as the binocs in this short read -- they are his closest friend, help keep his sanity and feed his kink. I’d call the ending HFN because we really don’t know if the MC will get what he wants.

lost my original review, but I really enjoyed this book.
I loved watching his growing awareness of his kink, would have been 5 stars if the mission had been accomplished. I really hope the author has more planned for us.

Ok, this story is simply H.O.T. I was so immersed in the situation that, for a moment, I wanted to be completely dominated by TWO. I mean it was that good.

I don't even know how to shelve this book as next to nothing happens. I wouldn't even qualify this as a happy for now as the MC doesn't even meet his interest. Just creepily watches him through binoculars. The tags for this story are a little misleading I think based on what actually happens in the story. There's no sex (other than what he watches through the binoculars) and the fetish and toys...also strictly in a voyeuristic sense. Was it great that the MC figured his kink out? Sure but it wasn't at all gratifying that there was no traction or story following that.

Oh, this so SO tantalising and I want MORE!!!! Very difficult to do a 1st person POV when there's no other MC's to counter-act; but I was gripped from the first sighting of Number Two - please, please, please I need, need, NEED to know if our Navy Seal meets up him.

Other than the sex, I found this to be a boring and pretty poorly written story. I didn't find the main character/narrator interesting, believable, or likable and so I ended up skipping over large sections of the story. The sex scene, both short, were actually pretty decent and fun to read, but please no more watching, stalking, planning, and confusion about... identity.

This was another one I wasn't sure if I'd like or not, but wow am I impressed! The whole peeping-tom thing with the HFN tag made me nervous about how this would play out. I love the author's approach to the whole story. Masterfully done. Lovely story.

I F*cking loved it! But I want more. I'd love to have the MC's meet and come together and fulfill Calvin's fantasy! Falling in love wouldn't hurt either! This story was smoking HOT! I don't usually care for present tense/first person but the way this story was written was spot on. I do hope the Author will write more on these two guys! Pretty Please? I'll even throw a bucked full of cherries! LOL

This story tell about a man who is discoverying himself in many ways. He needs a way to keep himself under control. By watching others he learns what he may need to help and who might be the best person for the job. He now has a new mission. I wish him luck and hope he gets everything he needs and wants.

I just wasn't feeling this one. I think I could have if it was a full length read because this was more just a teaser. It felt almost like a first chapter to a book. This is also showed me that I don't like fantasy sex.
