This is the kind of book I can read again and again to contemplate his messages and apply lessons in my daily situations. There were so many wonderful quotations but overall three main themes hit me this time.
~ Observation: Power of seeing and feeling with my whole body without interpretation or explanation. Sometimes, just being there and present is more than enough. Lately, my favorite way of resting is just lying down and focusing on my breathings in and out. Random thoughts come in then leave, but my focus is more into my breathing. After all, it is my breath that is with me from the beginning until the end.
~ Freedom: Free to speak and free to think; however whenever I think of freedom, I think of a road trip in my car. I just came back from a grand adventure, adding over 2000 miles to my vehicle to Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois. This feeling on the road (when not in traffic) accompanied by clear sky and cotton candy clouds is epitome of freedom. Sometimes, we listen to the Harry Potter books; other times, we sing along to praise music. Last night, I saw my youngest sleeping deep holding my hand, as the full moon guided our path… Yes I was in peace and full of happiness. Those precious moments, I crave for them and I live for them. We are born with wings and learn to use them to fly. In my case, my current wing is Honda CRV and later it will be a white Tesla~
~ Thoughts: Beautiful thoughts build a beautiful soul. Change my thoughts to change my life. When I am irritated with someone or situation, recognize that I am in between desire and allowing. Permit the paradox of wanting the irritant to vanish and allowing it to be what it is. Remember that Jesus is everywhere in His disguise, and I am never alone. I surround myself with His spirit and see myself the way He sees me, as his precious child or beautiful bride.
