The town of Bayport, Maryland is holding a festival to celebrate their tri-centennial. Val Deniston is participating with a booth featuring food from her café, while her grandfather is hoping to win one of the contests with his chocolate fondue. And Val has talked Grandfather into renting out some rooms in the house they share to visitors in town for the weekend. These particular guests are there to start work on planning a wedding to take place in the area the next spring. When one of them turns up dead in the backyard, Val begins to question if the killer got their intended victim, or if someone else was the target. Can she figure out what happened?

This book has a solid mystery with great clues sprinkled throughout. Even so, I only began to piece it together about the time that Val started figuring it out. Val’s former life in New York City pops up in a big way in this book, and, while I enjoyed the way this cozy trope played out in this book, I did feel it slowed things down a little. The more I read this series, the more I’ve come to love the characters, especially Val’s grandfather, who is a lot of fun. The suspects are distinct and kept me guessing. At the back of the book are six recipes, including a couple of chocolate fondue recipes, all of which have five or fewer ingredients. This is another fun entry in a tasty series.

Meet Val Deniston, a former cookbook publicist in New York City. When a car accident ended her career she moved home to Bayport, a tourist town in the Chesapeake Bay area. She lives with her old codger of a grandfather, runs the Cool Down Cafe at the local fitness club and is working on publishing her own cookbook. Thanks to Val's help, her grandfather is writing a cooking column for the local newspaper, featuring recipes that only take five ingredients. The Old Codger is just now letting Val teach him how to actually cook. Now he needs her help to perfect his chocolate fondue recipe for the town's tricentennial festival's dessert cook-off. They are also renting rooms to a bridal party group spending the weekend doing the festivities while the bride becomes better acquainted with the groom's family. When Val finds the body of a guest in the backyard she doesn't know what to think. Was it a case of mistaken identity? As Val digs deeper into the background of each guest, she finds more than she bargained for.

This is the third book in the series and each is better than the previous one. There are lots of 5 ingredient recipes at the end of each book. They are both easy and tasty! The characters are well developed and realistic, as is the background story of her grandfather's cooking escapades. I liked the Chesapeake Bay setting and enjoyed the health club background as well. Cozy and cooking fans will all enjoy this fun series.

While FINAL FONDUE is the third book in Maya Corrigan's Five-Ingredient Mystery series, it is the first one I’ve had the chance to read. I found it easy to immerse myself in this newest release without knowing backstory which makes this a nice stand- alone read.

Val Deniston lives with her grandfather, Don Myer, aka The Codger Cook. While he would like to be a great cook he mostly takes Val’s recipes and whittles them down to five ingredients, sometimes with great results and sometimes…not so much. Val has convinced her granddad to rent out the spare bedrooms to some of the tourists coming to town for Bayport’s Tricentennial Festival. Jennifer Brown, a bride-to-be, rents four of the guestrooms for herself and three members of the bridal party. They plan on enjoying the festivities and look at wedding venues at the same time.

The festivities take an ugly turn when Val finds one of the bridesmaids strangled to death in her granddad’s back yard. Even more disconcerting is that the deceased resembles Val and she’s not sure if she was the intended victim. Her nemesis, Chef Henri La Farge, is in town and appears to be stalking her. But the bride also has her share of enemies and could have been the intended target. With the police not finding the answers and Granddad taking on-line private investigating classes and wanting to practice, Val determines to find the culprit before another body shows up.

I just adored The Codger Cook! He went through a rough patch after losing his wife but with Val living with him he’s found a new lease on life by writing a newspaper column, branding The Codger Cook, and expanding his snooping skills with an on-line class. His sometimes grumpy character brings humor and humanity to the story. Val also has some “baggage” from her past that the author weaves effortlessly into a subplot intertwining with the central mystery. It kept me turning pages and guessing until the final reveal (reminding me a bit of an Agatha Christie grand-finale) which came as a complete surprise. The quaint town setting with it’s Haunted Maze left you feeling like you’d actually visited the area, not just read about it while the supporting characters meshed together creating a memorable story. After reading FINAL FONDUE I realize I have some catch-up reading to do and look forward to the next book in this series!

Of course a series titled Five-Ingredient Mystery series wouldn’t be complete without recipes! There are several included at the back of the book and all sound equally yummy. I tried the recipe for Nutty Buttery Mini Muffins recipe which uses only FIVE ingredients and was incredibly impressed with how easy they mixed up AND how absolutely delicious they were!

This was a fun entry in the series with lots going on. With a festival going on there were lots of new characters and I was totally kept guessing right up to the end. I enjoy reading about the food Val cooks and the recipes at the end of the book.

Final Fondue is the third book in Maya Corrigan's Five-Ingredient Mystery series. It is the first one I have read, but did not have any problem following the story. It could be read as a stand alone novel, but I am definitely going to go back and read the first two.

Val Deniston, the main character and protaganist, lives with her grandfather, Don Myer. He is taking an online course to become a private investigator as well as writing a cooking column for the local paper where he is known as "The Codger Cook". He is not really a very good cook unless he uses Val's recipes and minimizes the ingredients. This is where the series gets its name. The house they live in is old and needs some updating and repairs, so Val has convinces her grandfather to rent out the spare bedrooms to tourists coming to town for Bayport’s Tricentennial Festival. He ends up renting not only the spare rooms, but Val's room as well to Jennifer, a bride-to-be and three members of the wedding party. The plan is to enjoy the festival and check out wedding venues during the weekend. Unfortunately for Val, she was supposed to stay with her fiancee and his family, but his mother had already invited guests, including her son's ex-girlfriend, which is why she is staying at Val's grandfather's house.

The weeeknd takes an ugly turn when Val finds one of the bridesmaids strangled in her granddad’s back yard. This death is bad enough, but once Val realizes how much she looks like the deceased, especially in a crab hat, she is worried that maybe she was the intended victim. Her nemesis, Chef Henri La Farge, is in town and not only was he verbally abusive to her in front of many townspeople and festival goers, but it appears that he might be stalking her. But the bride, who also resembles the deceased, could also have been the intended victim. After being chased through the haunted corn maze, this theory seems to have some merit. With the police not finding the answers and Granddad wanting to practice what he has been learning, he and Val start investigating and hope to find the culprit before another body shows up.

I really enjoyed the interactions between Val and her grandfather. He is sometimes a little grumpy and short on patience, but he loves his granddaughter and it seems he will do everything he can to keep her safe. He is funny and brings levity to the story. Val's love interest, Gunnar, was not in the story very much, but when he was, he seemed rather cantankerous and I am not sure how I feel about him at this point. I hope to see more of this relationship in the other books and that Val makes the right choices where her love life is concerned. Val also has some “baggage” from her past, being fired from her job, an ex-fiancee, and a car accident that the author weaves effortlessly into the story and the main mystery.

With the name of this series being the Five-Ingredient Mystery series, it would not be complete without some recipes. There are several included and two of them are definitely going to be tried in my kitchen, especially the beef stroganoff one. This series is a must for cozy mystery readers and especially those who love reading about food in the stories. I am looking forward to the rest in this series as well as the next one.

It's time for Bayport's Tricentennial Festival and Val Deniston is busy creating food for her booth at the festival and helping her grandfather keep his house guests under control.
A group of friends is staying at the Deniston house, however, it doesn't appear that all the friends are as chummy as they would like everyone to think. The group includes bride-to-be Jennifer and her fiance Payton. Val is surprised to find out that Jennifer is staying with them and not at the luxurious home of her fiance.
When a member of the group is murdered, Val can't help but get involved. She doesn't believe it's a random murder and before long she is searching for answers.

There were so many exciting parts to this story, however, I don't want to give anything away in this review. Fans of this series by the talented Maya Corrigan will absolutely love this story!

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review.

This amusing, delightful and relaxing read is a blend of romance and mystery. BAYPORT, Massachusetts is hosting a
Tri-centennial festival. Val Deniston has convinced her Grandfather to rent out rooms in his Victorian home for the festival. The rooms are rented to a group in town to scoop out plans for a wedding. Things go awry when one of the parties is strangled and found dead the backyard. More problems are caused by all wearing Crab hats and Val is not sure who the target was. It might be the bride-to-be or even herself. There are several romances that are occurring in the story. Val needs the answer for several vital questions before her life is in turmoil. I recommend this series in order.

Disclosure: I received a free copy from Kensington Books through NetGalley for an honest review. I would like to thank them for this opportunity to read and review the book. The opinions expressed are my own.

Maya Corrigan fans, your wait is over! This installment of the Five-Ingredient Mysteries is the tasty treat you’ve been waiting for.

In FINAL FONDUE author Maya Corrigan takes us back to Maryland’s Eastern shore and the Chesapeake Bay town of Bayport where Val and her grandfather have rented out rooms in their home to guests for the upcoming tri-centennial celebration. Having strangers in the house screams trouble to me. Val discovers it is indeed trouble when she finds one of those strangers dead in the backyard.

FINAL FONDUE is everything readers of this series have some to count on. A well thought out plot, an intriguing mystery, and plenty of suspects and motives to keep you guessing until the end, this book is an entertaining cozy that will leave fans deliciously satisfied.

Love recipes with your cozies? You’ll find six five-ingredient recipes at the back of the book!

Is it the best book out there? I don't think so, but I'm giving it a 5 because I really didn't see it coming. Do I like the reveal? No, but I do like how this book played out... For some reason it made me got invested even when the majority of the involved people were basically only there by chance, and I think because of that, it at least explains better why we don't know and possibly don't care for them, as opposed to the two previous books, in which it was jut hard to care for characters other than Val etc... If that makes sense. Could be just me.

Val Deniston lost her job in New York as a cookbook publicist, and also her fiancé when she caught him cheating. Now she's created a new life for herself in Bayport, living with her grandfather in his old Victorian and running the café at the local tennis and racket club. She also has a new boyfriend in Gunnar Swenson, and everything seems to be going her way.

She's also helping her grandfather create recipes as The Codger Cook -- writing for the local newspaper, but if truth were told, it's her recipes and he's "borrowed" them so everyone thinks he can cook and he'll get local recognition. After Val has helped solve a couple of local murders, her grandfather also wants to become a PI and is taking online courses to do so. But now he's planning on a recipe of his own - a chocolate fondue - that he wants no help with and intends to enter in the local cook-off for the town's tricentennial celebration.

Val has also convinced him as a way to make money would be to take in temporary boarders during the festival. Her grandfather, unfortunately, has also rented out Val's room and insists she stay with her cousin Monique. As if that weren't bad enough, Val's mother calls and says she's coming for a visit, and Val's ex, Tony, shows up unexpected and unannounced, causing problems between her and Gunnar.

But Val's determined to make it work. With cooking breakfasts for the four people in a wedding party that are staying with them, driving to her cousin's, working at the festival and the café, trying to avoid Tony and see her mother and Gunnar, you'd think that would be enough. But it isn't: on the first night at the Victorian, one of the wedding party is murdered. Now Val's drawn into another investigation -- and since the bride-to-be is obviously being threatened, she needs to decide who's trying to kill the people in the wedding party, and why...

This is the third book in the series, and it's starting to grow on me. While I enjoy the writing style and I do like Val, since she has what I call grit in sticking to her obligations, she allows people to walk all over her, and that gets to me. I still haven't been able to warm up to her grandfather. Yes, he has moments of care for her and it shows, but I still think he's taking advantage of her in more ways than one. It's almost as if he expects her to do what he wants, but I see him give nothing in return. It's difficult to care for someone who's so selfish as a person. One moment of kindness does not make up for hours of grief.

I also haven't been able to warm up to Gunnar. He supposedly is her boyfriend, but he never makes any time for her. He makes excuses why he can't spend time with her; what kind of relationship is that? I'd rather see her with someone who appreciates her; but if she allows her grandfather to walk all over her, then I guess she'll let Gunnar walk all over her, too. Even her mother nags her, and she listens to it. Val also mentions as how Bethany is just a kid at twenty-five; Val is thirty-two. She's seven years older but apparently thinks that's much older than Bethany. Hmmm...

Anyway, the mystery is done nicely, and while the clues are there, it was a little difficult to figure out who the murderer was and why; but when I did, I enjoyed watching Val put all the pieces together as she always does; even though in this book she was never in danger, it was still a lot of fun to see everyone's reactions as she went through the clues one by one until the killer was figured out.

When the ending comes and everything is said and done, it was for the most part an easy read that can be done in one evening, and worth the venture into Val's world. Recommended.

Final Fondue by Maya Corrigan is the third book in A Five-Ingredient Mystery series. Val Deniston is in for a busy week in Bayport, Maryland. Bayport’s Tri-centennial Festival is taking place, and Val is running the booth for the Cool Down Café (where she works). Val has convinced her Grandad, Don Myer, to take in guests for the weekend (will pay for the detective course he is taking). Jennifer Brown has booked the rooms for herself and members of her bridal party (Fawn Finchley, Noah Hurdly, Sarina Rafael). Jennifer is in town to make plans for her wedding to Payton Grandsire (son of Penelope Grandsire, rich family in town). Grandad is also working on his recipe for the cook-off contest (a chocolate fondue). He has to live up to his reputation as the Codger Cook. Unfortunately, Chef Henri LaFarge is the judge, and he holds a grudge against Val (he is the one who got her fired from her publicist position). Val is coming back to the house very late and stumbles in the dark. Val has stumbled over Fawn Finchley, one of their houseguests. Val calls in Bayport Police Chief, Earl Yardley. Who could have wanted Fawn dead? The suspect list is not long since Fawn was a guest in town (seems to limit it to the houseguests staying with Grandad). Val is not sure that Fawn was the intended victim. Val cannot help but do a little investigating. Of course, Grandad insists on helping (it goes great with his detective course). Can they find the culprit before there is another victim? Come join in the hijinks in Final Fondue!

Final Fondue was a fun book to read. It was enjoyable and easy to read. There is just the right amount of humor in the novel (it was not over-the-top or too silly). I liked the mystery (complex and plenty of misdirection) and following the clues to see if I was right in my choice of killer. I like the relationship between Val and Grandad. Their banter and slight bickering was entertaining (and you can tell that they truly care for each other). While this is the third book in the series, it can easily be read alone. Ms. Corrigan does a good job of updating the reader so they do not feel like they have missed anything by not reading the first two books (though I look forward to reading them). The characters in the book are well developed and relatable (they seem real). I give Final Fondue 4.5 out of 5 stars (I more than liked it but I was able to solve the mystery well before it was revealed). There is plenty going on in Final Fondue, but it was not too much. Ms. Corrigan did a superb job cooking up this cozy mystery. I look forward to reading the next book in A Five-Ingredient Mystery series. There are recipes included at the end of the book (that were mentioned during the novel).

I received a complimentary copy of Final Fondue from NetGalley (and Kensington) in exchange for an honest evaluation of the novel. The opinions and comments expressed above are strictly my own.

Review:

Val Deniston has moved to Bayport after she lost her job as a cookbook publicist. She has enough to keep her busy, trying to get ready for the Tricentennial celebration and helping her grandfather entertain house guests that are there for the celebration. She was the one who talked him into renting out rooms at his house so she feels a little bit responsible when one of the house guests ends up murdered. She is determined to help the police find the murderer, even if they do not want her help.

The characters are well developed and well rounded. I enjoyed reading about the interaction between Val and her grandfather. Even with their bickering and banter, you could tell that they cared about each other a lot. I enjoyed the fact that although Val was investigating the murder, she did not take unnecessary chances with her safety. This was a refreshing change from many of the cozies that I read. There were characters from her past that show up for the festivities, and these people put a damper on a new relationship that she is building with Gunner.

The mystery is carried on well throughout the book and even though there three main suspects to consider, I did not know if one of them were responsible or not. There were twists and turns to throw the reader off.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy. Although this is the third book in the series, it is the first one that I have read. I had no trouble following the plot and the characters and I did not feel lost at all. I do plan on going back and reading the first two books in the series. As an added bonus, there are six recipes at the end of the book, and some of them sound tasty.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

FINAL FONDUE, the third book in Maya Corrigan's Five-Ingredient Mystery series, is a lighthearted mystery involving romance, revenge, and chocolate fondue.

A bride, two bridesmaids, and the best man have rented rooms for the weekend in the Victorian house owned by Val Deniston's grandfather. The group is in Bayport, MD to scope out venues for the upcoming wedding. Their stay coincides with the town's Tricentennial Festival, a full weekend extravaganza of boating demonstrations, parades, fireworks and food booths. Val is involved in all facets of the festival and has little time to help Granddad with his guests. But she agrees to help her grandfather in the kitchen whenever she can.

After the festival's opening night fireworks, Val returns to the house to prepare the next day's breakfast. To take out the garbage, she has to venture through the dark back yard. First she spots fondue leftovers on the back porch. Then she stumbles across the body of a house guest. Once again a killer is on the loose in Bayport, and Val and her grandfather are on the case.

Could it be a spurned suitor? Or an old nemesis? Might it be the result of mistaken identity? Or a spur of the moment killing? These are just a few of the questions that Val and Granddad must answer before the murderer strikes again.

FINAL FONDUE contains interesting characters, feasible situations, and supporting subplots that provide convincing motives for why each suspect could be the killer. Throw in a haunted corn maze, cooking competitions, family dysfunction, and a few red herrings, and you have a tasty mixture that satisfies the mystery palate.

And don't worry if you haven't read the other two books in the series. This book can definitely stand alone. Though to get a better feel of the main characters and the story's location, you might want to read the books in order.

A definitive cozy mystery series ! All cozy mystery fans will enjoy reading this fun book by Maya Corrigan.
The premises of the story is our protagonist Val Deniston who has moved to Bayport after she lost her job as a cookbook publicist. She has to get ready for the Tricentennial celebration and help her grandfather entertain houseguests that are there for the celebration. The repartee with Grandpa is witty and cantankerous . She talked him into renting out rooms at his house so she feels responsible when one of the houseguests is murdered. She is determined to help the police find the murderer. She begins her sleuth with a very engaging investigation along the way. I enjoyed the friendly small town and the delightful characters. The protagonist is smart, brave and independent as she solves the case with the help of some friends .

The recipes will make you swoon and run to your kitchen to start cooking.

I enjoyed the sleuth and the mystery was very well crafted. The characters are done to perfection and the small town is a delight. This was a book I was unable to put down until it was done. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. The final conclusion is very much reminiscent of Agatha Christie as it involves quite a cast of characters all under suspicion., I enjoyed that this is not your average cozy, it has many new elements to it which made it delightful to experience. Thank you with gratitude to Kensington Books for the advance reading copy. This is the third in the series and I recommend the entire series as a excellent cozy mystery series that will delight every reader.

Final Fondue is the third book in Maya Corrigan Five-Ingredient Mystery series. This is the first book I’ve read written by this author. Even though I haven’t read the previous books in this series, Ms. Corrigan provided enough character background that I didn’t feel lost jumping in so late in the series. The storyline is well thought out and the characters well developed and relatable. There is no adult language, graphic violence, or sexually explicit situations. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading clean mysteries.

Val Deniston lives in Bayport in Chesapeake Bay area and she is busy creating food for her booth at Bayport’s Tricentennial Festival. Val has convinced her grandfather, Don Myer, to rent out rooms in their home for the festival and is helping him prepare for and take care of the houseguests. The guests are a group of friends who are in the area to look for locations for their girls’ party, welcome party, and farewell brunch. The group consists of Jennifer Brown (bride), Sarina Rafael (maid of honor), Fawn Finchley (bridesmaid), and Noah Hurdly (best man). The groom, Payton Grandsire, is staying at his family mansion. One evening, Val stumbles upon a body in her grandfather’s backyard and learns it’s Fawn and that she died from strangulation. Val doesn't believe this is a random murder and begins searching for answers.

Final Fondue by Maya Corrigan is the 3rd book in A Five-Ingredient MysterySeries, and a very enjoyable read. I have not read the first two book of the series, but I did not feel lost with the story or characters. I plan on reading the first two books as well. Val Deniston has a busy life running a cafe and helping her grandfather get ready for the tri-centennial celebration in Bayport, Massachusetts where they live in the Chesapeake Bay. To make some extra money Val talks her grandfather into renting out some rooms in his house, which is fine until one of the people dies in their back yard.

The mystery was terrific in this book, but it was also full of yummy food and recipes. I want to run out and buy a fondue pot. There are twists and turns around every corner. Just when I thought I figured out who the murderer is, it changes. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. I especially enjoyed Val and Grandpa relationship. I am excited about finding a new series to enjoy. If you love cozy mysteries, I strongly recommend this book.

I enjoy these cozy mysteries, and this one was no exception. One of the things I really like about reading one of these books is that they don't contain cursing, graphic violence or sex scenes.

I did notice that this was book three in the series. I have not read the other two and don't feel as if I missed anything. The characters were an interesting blend of personalities, and even though it was rather apparent that the murderer was probably one of three people; it wasn't easy to definitely pin one of them down. In the end it was nicely wrapped up with a believable ending--that's always a plus in my opinion--and the author even added some recipes!

If you enjoy cozy mysteries, or even just appreciate that there are authors out there who don't feel a need to shock everyone with violence and sex, read this book.

I've liked the first two books in the series and Final Fondue is no exception. Val and her grandfather are decent, realistic characters. The author does a good job fitting in real life situations in with Val's sleuthing. She actually works at a reasonable job responsibly. So many cozies have characters who don't seem to actually have to work and be at their job.

I really enjoyed the story line with Val getting out of the health club and working a booth at a big seaside summer event. The victim and pals are staying with Grandpa for a valid reason and what transpires works.

The one thing I could have done without was the minor intrusion of Val's romantic interests. However, like the rest of the book, it's not unreasonable, over the top or unrealistic. I, personally, just didn't need it.

The 3rd book in this series sees Val and Pops trying to solve the murder of a bridesmaid who's renting a room from them for the weekend.

Although it's the 3rd in the series you don't feel like you're missing anything or out of the loop, you get just enough information to move the story along and not get bogged down with extraneous details.

The characters are fun, interesting and quirky, the mystery with as many twists and turns as you'd expect and the recipes are ones I'm sure to try, will have to pick up some toblerones sometime this week!

*Huge thanks to Maya Corrigan, Kensington Books and NetGalley for this copy in exchange for an honest review*

This was a really fun book to read. If you are a cozy fan, chances are you love small towns and quirky characters. Add in a town festival and it makes for the perfect opportunity for murder.
Val's grandfather has enough personality to carry this book and he is really only a supporting player. The out of town guests give us much to wonder about, each with several secrets. Add in the inconvenience of Val's potential love interests and this is the recipe for a comical disaster! Past and present collide and fireworks fly!

This wasn't a super well-written book, but it was a decent cozy mystery. It kept me guessing (although there were some pretty obvious leads that the characters missed) and it was interesting enough for me to want to finish it. I didn't particularly like the resolution to the mystery even though I was surprised by the culprit. I won't seek out any other books in this series, but I would probably recommend it to people that really love cozy mysteries.

This is a standard cozy with all the standard cozy elements but it lost me when Val, a former cookbook editor, described Washington DC as a culinary wasteland. Seriously? Where has Corrigan been? DC is such a hot food location that Michelin is about to do a guide for it. I had hoped for Eastern Shore atmosphere but crab hats weren't it. There was a lot of potential here but it was not realized. I had not read the first two books so maybe that was where Val was developed as a character but based on this one, I don't plan to read any more. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC.

Like most cozy mysteries, this was a light read. From the discovery of the guest’s body, you are never quite convinced whether the victim was the true target. As Val tries to figure out the puzzle, a range of possible scenarios present themselves, with the identify and motive of the true culprit coming as a bit of a surprise. I enjoyed reading about Val and her relationship with her grandfather. All in all, a pleasant diversion.

It looks like Val is getting a second chance to put her life together the way it once was--her boss offers her the job as cookbook publicist that she left, her cheating ex-fiancé begs her for a second chance. But Val is happy living with her grandfather in a coastal Maryland town, running a small café, and exploring a new relationship. When one of the guests at the town festival is murdered, Val doesn't want to investigate any more than the police want her help--until she starts to think that the victim looked a lot like her. What if the wrong woman was murdered?

When a body is found in Val's yard, there are more questions than answers. Was the victim the intended victim? Who is playing dangerous pranks on the guests? What secrets are the guests hiding? Will The Codger Cook win the cook off? All these and more will be answered in the latest installment of the five-ingredient mystery series.

Corrigan's latest mystery takes on the murder of a houseguest during the Harvest festival. I enjoyed this latest entry in the series a bit more than the second book, since there was a limited pool of suspects, which made the mystery more compelling. I am over Val's relationship with Gunnar; if the author wants us to root for them to be together, then she has to stop writing him as such a jerk.

Received the novel from Goodreads! Thank you.

It was a easy read and in fact read a lot of it while I was waiting in the passport office. It definitely took my mind off the long wait I had. I loved the granddad & granddaughter together. Just a chip off the old block. I enjoyed the story line, and the easy way it all came together.
