Ooh the mess and drama allure was going through it and felt her pain because I'm going through it. I don't get as much offers like allure but I connected with her on the loniness and accepting the bare minimum from men and hoping this time might be different. I couldn't put the book down can't wait to read the next book

The book was ok. I found out that there is a second book in the series so I will read that one just so that I can continue the story. Nothing really grabbed me from the book and drew me in.

This book completely shitted on everything I thought I knew about domestic abuse, single motherhood, and all the other trials one individual could face. From start to finish Braya educated me about a reality I have never experienced before, and I have no regret whatsoever about reading Allure’s story.

Her character was constantly disrespected by not only the father of her child, but by men she thought would actually be different and love her. It’s like she attracted scums. That made sense, being that abuse women often times end up with the same kind of men.

Allure comes from a family like many around the world, one that’s broken and irreparable. It has affected her deeply, as is expected, but Allure takes pride in the fact that she’s a good mother, providing and taking care of her daughter the best way she knows how. And she’ll do what it takes to build a loving home for her little girl, Sierra, which is why she left Gregg.

For years she’s been abused physically, emotionally, verbally, hell even mentally by Gregg, the father of her child. This dude is a piece of work. He is the epitome of asshole. The more I read the more enraged I got with his unattractive character. He had me cursing up a storm while on my way to work in the mornings, and laughing in utter disgust on my way home. Gregg’s the kind of man that shouldn’t even be classified as a man. He fits the description of a bastard, and then some. I don’t even want to spare any more time going on about his character. “…And more ass whippings than Ike gave Tina.” Need I say more.

Throughout it all, Allure is surrounded by some ride or die chicks. Her sister Crystal, and her besties Creole and Kendra. My favorite part was Crystal and Creole beating Gregg’s ass after he turned up at Allure’s house on her birthday, acting like he controlled her life. I loved when the girls were together. They always encouraged and never scolded her for her past with that lunatic. As best friends and real friends should, they made her feel good about herself and uplifted her spirits when she was down. With friends like these you’ll be alright.
Dear Drama was one heck of a ride. The best, most realest story I’ve read this year. I was a mess after this one. I cried, I laughed, I sympathized, and above all else, I loved. Indeed, I loved this book and I strongly recommend getting yourselves a copy if you’re up to some seriously intense shit. A compliment, not a hate.

I loved this book from start to finish. I think I like it so much because it gave insight on abusive relationships and how in a way she repeated the cycle from one abusive relationship to another (physical and mental), but was finally able to stop and get herself on track. Also I think it was great that Allure was a working single mother that also kept going to school and didn't give up like most would have done, and been content with the section 8 housing! This book shed lite on the good single mothers out there trying to do better so that their kids can do better. Througout the entire book I had my fingers crossed that her and James would make it because he seeemed like a good man. Was I WRONG! I hope Braya SPice will do a part 2. I'm anxious to figure out if Allure was able to get moved out of the "hood" and if she ever finds true love and have another son! I cried with her when she found him cold in the crib! It broke me heart. And Bryce...I CAN NOT BELIEVE he kicked her door in like that. I was yelling the entire time she was involved with the cop. how could she not know he was a crazk head!! All in all I loved this book

I felt like I had to suspend belief a time or two during this book.
I found it hard to believe that someone would put up with some of the things Allure did.
She got rid of an abusive boyfriend (who is also the father of her child) to deal with a string of losers.
One of the things that I liked was that she never gave up on school. I also liked that she put her daughter first.
The HIV scare at the doctors office? Although I guess it was necessary to make the ending of the narrative work (and happy)... I don't know. There were also a few spelling errors. But not enough to give me pause.
Other than that, it's an a entertaining read. The author keeps you engaged.

I enjoyed reading this.. The protagonist was just so infuriating though. So many bad choices. I couldn't identify with her. I kept yelling at her mentally, "Stay away from this guy! This guy cheated on you! This guy lied to you!" But she kept going back to these horrible guys, and clearly she was attractive enough to find a new one in a minute even if she did have unrealistically horrible luck.

I also hated the ending. It's nice that she was happy on her own, but after maybe one mention of religion in the whole book she's suddenly talking about God and his plan for her..

At the beginning of the book I thought it was going to be pretty predictable, in the middle of the book I was angry at Allure and her choices in men.... the end of book gave a message that ALOT of women need to hear. As entertaining as some of the scenarios were its heartbreaking that when dating, these things tend to be more fact than fiction.

And for once... the book was wrapped up!! No cliffhangers for a part 2.

Allure is a single mother of a young daughter. Also she has a CRAZY baby daddy. Allure Jones wants what everyone wants in life: true love. But like so many others she find everything but love. Travel through "Dear Drama", and see what the dating life has to offer Allure.

I really enjoyed this book. The best thing about this book was it was very believable. It was such a quick read full with all different kinds of emotions.

I am glad I read this book after I got married. This book was crazy and filled with a lot of drama. If I was Allure I would have given up on men a long time ago. I would have moved me and my child to another country. All the men in this city was straight crazy. I hope book two will bring more happiness although I seriously doubt it. If I was still single I would think long and hard about returning to the dating scene after reading this book.

How much could one woman go through and still manage to not give up on love.. I felt sorry for Allure at times. Like most woman all she wanted was someone to love that loved her back..Definitely a must read on to part 2.
