A twist on the tried-and-true classic, HEAD, SHOULDERS, KNEES, AND TOES. From ears that wiggle to bellies that giggle, to "mouth, ears, eyes, nose, and a love that grows and grows."
This was a gift for my daughter’s first Christmas. It was a lovely surprise since the author has a similar name to my daughter. My husband was even surprised by thst fact. When we read it we found it to be a great interactive book. The pictures are so cute with the kid and his bear doing the movements together. Will definitely read this book to her again.
Such a fun book to read with my youngest grandson! A book that shows body parts by demonstrating quirky things you can do with them. While reading this book, I get to sneeze, stretch my mouth with my fingers, touch my toes, wiggle my ears, etc At the end, I give him a gigantic hug.
DNF'd halfway through. Mama was pointing out all the words in the book on me, which was fun at first. Then she poked my tummy and I was full of toots and got upset so we had to stop reading. - Lily
This is a super cute book and it felt really interactive for baby. I will definitely try again when Lily is not full of toots. Lol. - Mum
**Update** We read the whole book this time! Mama tickled me and pointed out my toes and my nose and more things I can't remember. I liked it. I kind of wish the teddy bear was furry though. - Lily
A great point-and-say book for toddlers that are just starting to become verbal. Lovely rhyming scheme, simple words, and lots of opportunities for interaction to keep your child engaged.
Huge illustrations, well-placed repetition, and fun rhymes make this book a hit for children under one year old. It is becoming one of my son's favorite books because he enjoys looking at the little boy's face in the story. The text is perfect for reading out loud in a sing-songy voice, which also enhances the reading experience. It is also fun to point to and/or touch each body part as it is mentioned in the book. For older children, the book features plenty of actions that they can follow along with. Ten Tiny Toes would go along wonderfully with the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes" if it were being read aloud to a group of children.
Caroline Jayne Church's book, Ten Tiny Toes, is the epitome of cute. I have the board book version of this book, and I love the large images and catchy illustrations that appeal to my 4 month old. He needs pictures that pop at this stage and this book grabbed his attention. Me acting out the words and finding the body parts on myself and him made him laugh - which is to me, the sign of a great piece of entertainment for a baby. Highly recommend, with 5 star rating, for infants and toddlers alike.
Great interaction book for infant and toddlers to familiarize them with a few body parts. Love the cute toddlers this author/illustrator uses in all of her books. The best part, this book can also connect with the song, 'head, shoulders, knees and toes,' so you can also get some music and movement from this book. I personally connect with this book because this is the book I read to my daughter when she was an infant to get her more familiar with body parts.
This picture book offers a playful, rhyming exploration of body parts from head to toes, and this is amaing for young children that are learning their OWN body. It lets the children move, touch, and wiggle their body parts because they are celebrating ten tiny toes. This has very simple concepts, body part recognition, and repetition make it great for early learning. I loved the illustartions, they are very clear, joyful, and it kept me very interested.
Jack borrowed this book from the Ashland public library. He loved looking at the little boy and his teddy bear. I like that the boy and his bear look like Jack and his favorite bear. The book does a nice job of teaching kids about body parts and encouraging them to move. I think we will check it out again when Jack is a little bigger.
Body parts are the central focus of Ten Tiny Toes. Using a rhymed verse, Caroline Jayne Church introduces many body parts including mouth, ears, eyes, nose, belly, arms, legs, and toes. The rhymed verse then encourages actions with the body parts as you read the book. Good visual matach between vocabulary words and illustrations.
Church Bells #1 A twist on the song Head shoulders knees and toes apparently which comes across without the charm of the former and ends uo like well a presentation of the body parts, with little story to hang your hat on.
Great for baby/toddler storytime. The older kids followed along by pointing to their body parts. The parents of the younger kids pointed to their body parts for them. Perfect length for baby/toddler. Little bit of rhyming and repetition.
Great padded/board counting book with simple illustrations and message. Little ones love to count and learn body parts. Maybe it will even motivate them to get moving.
These books are just so sweet. A loves them so much - we point out each body part as we go, always ending with tickling those "ten tiny toes"! <3 <3 <3
