Timothy Keller was the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, which he started in 1989 with his wife, Kathy, and three young sons. For over twenty years he has led a diverse congregation of young professionals that has grown to a weekly attendance of over 5,000.
He was also Chairman of Redeemer City to City, which starts new churches in New York and other global cities, and publishes books and resources for faith in an urban culture. In over ten years they have helped to launch over 250 churches in 48 cities. More recently, Dr. Keller’s books, including the New York Times bestselling The Reason for God and The Prodigal God, have sold over 1 million copies and been translated into 15 languages.

Me gustó el formato del libro, es una suerte de ensayo con puntos importantes para entender el matrimonio a la luz de la unión eterna y suprema entre el Mejor Adán y la Nueva Eva, la Iglesia.
Consejos prácticos y un cierre esperanzador de una próxima reunión, en la eternidad, para aquellos que gozan, en tierra, del misterio del matrimonio.
¿Qué de los solteros? Supongo que el entendimiento del eco del 'placer verdadero', difiere en sus formas/medios al de los casados, los solteros que por diversos motivos no se casen, bajo la tesis que propone Keller aparentemente no "gozarán" de dicho placer ... No obstante, el fin último del mayor deleite, seguirá siendo el mismo: Cristo, el Amante por la eternidad.

Un pequeño libro para recordar las verdades bíblicas del matrimonio, encontrar algunas sugerencias para afianzar las relaciones y para mirar al futuro, al matrimonio de Cristo con su iglesia. Nada más bello que ver hacia la eternidad y pensar: wow! Dios terminó la obra en mi cónyuge. Vale la pena esta corta lectura.

Una maravillosa sintesis expresando la importancia y profundidad de esa preciosa bendición que El Señor nos ha regalado llamada matrimonio, tan grande y relevante que es la analogia por excelencia con la que se revela la relación entre Cristo y su Iglesia.

Pensé que se enfocaría en el matrimonio mas bien terrenal pero no! Sino que ayuda a entender el matrimonio como fue creado y porque es importante y aunque el matrimonio no es la meta, el matrimonio también es un instrumento para ayudarnos a entender lo que Dios quiere para nuestra vida!
