Ranger Knowledge: The All-Inclusive Study Guide for Rangers

Rate this book
Filled with entertaining anecdotes and an insider's knowledge, Ranger Knowledge is a must-read for prospective rangers and armchair military enthusiasts everywhere.

Written by a former 75th Ranger Regiment soldier, "Marty" will take you inside the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program and the Special Forces Assessment and Selection Program to teach prospective Special Operations soldiers the ins and outs of each unit's selection program. As someone who also runs a train-up program for soldiers going into the military on Ranger and Special Forces contracts, Marty is uniquely suited to write a program of instruction which walks would-be Special Operations troops through the course and tells them how to get from A to B and achieve their goals in the Special Operations community.

As a former member of A Co, 2/75, this is an excellent resource for anyone who has a Ranger contract and wants to make it to Battalion. This will give them a huge advantage on information they are expected to learn and memorize. This is also a great resource for members in battalion. I wish it was available in a printed handbook version for those who need it on the fly for crucial information.

Why did I give it 4 stars and not 5? Two reasons:

1) Not available in printed form for those soldiers who will need the information on the fly.

2) In the Ranger history section for Panama, the 2nd Batt mission on Rio Hato is mentioned but completely omitted in the detail portion of the operation. Their portion of the operation was significant. Not sure why the left it out.

Other than those two items, I really wish I would have had this to study during Airborne school in December 1991 before reporting to RIP.
