Kidnapped and taken to a private island full of hungry, depraved men, it seems like my situation can’t get any worse, but, unfortunately, I’m not sure that’s true. The mystery of how I got here reeks of betrayal, and I don’t know how much more of it I can take. It’s starting to seem like lies and deceit are all that I know.
The only crumb of comfort I have comes from one of the island residents, a man I’m told to call Mr. A.

Liberty left law school to marry Robert Gaumond. Life was boring. Her only release was Robert's niece, Elsie, who is living with them until she graduates from high school after her mother passed and the internet. Saltyshells123 seems to know her better than she knows herself. Liberty gets lost in their conversations. So much so that she is contemplating meeting saltyshells123 in person.
Everything changes at the blink of an eye. Liberty finds herself on a island with no clue how she got there or why. Liberty, ever willful, makes it a point to make her escape and fight her captors every step of the way. Especially when she realizes that she knows them.
Sawyer and Mr. A have cultivated this island for rich men who have specific tastes. The men who reside on the island can own slaves. The women that come there are usually desperate or have something to lose. Liberty knows she has someone out there that can help her, right? Real names are not used on the island and Liberty's name is changed to Ivy. The men are only referred to as Mr. A, B or C and are able to keep women as slaves.
Liberty is not having any of that. The only man she can tolerate is the one man that cannot have a slave. He can protect her as much as possible until Mr. J makes an appearance. Mr. J is new and wants Liberty. He will stop at nothing to get her. Liberty also has a few enemies upon arrival. Will her enemies be the death of Liberty?
This book is so good. It ends on a cliffhanger. I will be anxiously awaiting book two of this series. Liberty is a fighter and the revelations that were made in this book should keep her fighting. So many surprises. Readers will be shocked when they discover some of what is going on. I need book two now. I don't know how I am going to wait.

This is a dark book with a look at a real problem, human trafficking. Since it's a trilogy it does have a cliffhanger. This was a good read I couldn't put it down. It was well written

It had a trope that was off putting to me. To say Angel is more “damaged than depraved” doesn’t seem accurate to me. If any man would go to an island like that, then you are depraved too. Just because you’re not as bad as the other men doesn’t mean you’re not complicit in kidnapping. It also made liberty have that “I’m not like other girls” trope. She’s a fighter and is stubborn. Which confused me because that can’t be the first girl with will power to want to leave, so why is she so special to him. But that’s just my take on it

Twists, turns, uncertainty and a cliffhanger- this and more is what you are going to get from this story!
This is a fast paced story following Liberty and Angel as they navigate life in a private island (and not the fun kind of private island) and their growing attraction to each other all while trying to keep Liberty or "Ivy" as she is known on the island, safe.
From start to finish this book keeps you on your toes with the plot twists and action that happen. All of the characters in this story, particularly Angel and Liberty, are wonderfully developed while still leaving an air of mystery and motive to keep you invested and help fuel the cliffhanger that happens at the end of this story. The one thing that I really loved was that Liberty never loses her spunk or fire throughout the entire story. When you first meet her she is this feisty, spunky, straight shooter type of girl- she says what comes to mind and has no regrets about it. It does get her in trouble more often than not and that is certainly the case on the island but despite being in a situation that should knock her down and keep her there, she still finds a way to keep fighting in the hopes that maybe one day she can get away from everything that is happening around her.
The tension and drama between the MC's Liberty and Angel with the supporting characters is also well developed and wonderfully played out throughout the entire story. As the reader you certainly get the sense of tension and jealousy and all of that plays off the main arc and is seamlessly written into it that you almost forget that it is a subtext to the plot.
While this book is somewhat disturbing in most regards, it is not heavily spicy. There are certainly illusions to some spicy things happening throughout the island but you rarely get much detail which was a nice pallet refresher to the dark material and situations discussed. I'm sure that is going to change with the next book (at least I hope it does) but for now I think it works with this book in setting the reader up with the background and what may come next.
There are quite a few trigger warnings that come with this read so please read them all before you pick this one up. This is not a story you want to miss if you have no issues reading some really dark stuff and I have a feeling book 2 is going to be even better!

Wow, wow, wow! This is a SERIOUS page turner and I could not put it down. I don't know how Nicole Cypher manages to take the reader through the underworld of human trafficking in such a seductive and tasteful way - but she does it!
The novel is the first in a trilogy and I cannot wait for #2 after speedreading to the end where we are left with a serious cliff hanger (mean)!

When she starts online chatting to an unknown gentleman, he quickly sees through her desires and needs and feeds right into them, luring her in and kidnapping her and trafficking her to an island. Liberty has such a horrible time adjusting as she realizes she's on an island with other females who are sex slaves to various rich men.
The story takes us through Liberty's struggle on the island and her new found relationship with one of the owners, who is not allowed to have a slave, Mr A or 'Angel'. As the story progresses we learn that Angel and Liberty's first meeting was actually years prior and it was Liberty's husband Robert who actually sold her off. So where does this leave Liberty????
You've got to read the book to find out - so good!!!!

I started this without high expectations and was impressed
This book was exactly what I needed after a week of slump. Nicole impressed with her prose.
I love Liberty a lot. She never stops fighting and Angel, you intrigued me.

this was… interesting. i was intrigued the entire time while also being bored and also like ??????
it was a strange storyline but wasnt the craziest thing i’ve ever read. its a trilogy and ended on a cliffhanger but idk if i have the energy or care to read the other 2. we will see where the future takes me

Did not vibe with this book
It was really hard to like the characters, I just didn't vibe with this book. It's so hard to like a FMC that gives in almost right away. And the thougth of the MMC being okey with her being a wh**r in that house, was annoying. I like my MMC's OTT and possessive.

Book one of Liberating Deceit trilogy, Caging Liberty, grabs you and sucks you in from the very beginning. This is not my first read by Nicole Cypher and I’ve loved everything I’ve ever read by her so far and this one is no exception.
I loved Liberty, she is a strong woman. Angel and sawyer were also great characters. Angel is ruthless a business man and helps his friend Sawyer run his business on the island. This is a private island for men who have kinks that are not acceptable and women caught in human trafficking. After five years and Liberty is now in a loveless marriage. When she is taken to the island, she refuses to bend to their rules. She also finds out that Mr. A is Angel.
Liberty and Angel meet at a charity event and sparks flys, even though she’s in a relationship. Angel is insanely attracted to Liberty, to the point of obsession.
Dark romance with kidnapping and some spice thrown in there. This story was a gripping page turner. Make sure you read the TWs. The storyline and characters are so well written. I love the chemistry between Liberty and Angel and even the chemistry between Liberty and Sawyer by the end of the book.
Nicole Cypher has mastered the art of world building. She takes you on a seductive and emotional ride into the criminal world of human trafficking, as if you were there as both a captive and the predator. This is book one of a trilogy and it ends on quite the cliffhanger.
Definitely worth the read! I can’t wait for the next one. I really hope by the end of the third book, that Liberty and Angel will get their HEA.

Holy fuck balls!
I read this entire book in 2 hours because I could not put it down. It pulled me in from page 1 and didn’t let me up for air until the end.
I’ve been reading romance for way longer than I should’ve been. I’ve been reading dark romance for a number of years now. I’ve read sex slaves. I’ve read private islands. I’ve read about cages and dancing. I have NEVER read anything like this!
These characters are so well written. I swear to fuck I didn’t know what was up. I fell for every trap and that never happens. I can almost always tell what the trick is, who done it, etc. but I fell for everything just like Liberty did. I swear it’s like I was Liberty!!!
Talk about twists and motherfucking turns! You won’t know which way is up or down while reading this. When you think you have it figured out who to trust or who is telling the truth, you realize you don’t know shit!
I loved it. A fucking plus job with the suspense!
That cliffhanger is cliffhanging fucking hard and the ending made me almost wake my toddler up from wanting to fucking scream but you bet your ass I’m ready for the rest of the trilogy!

Fast Paced, Dark Spicy Read!!!
I don’t even know where to begin! This book has my head spinning. We first meet Liberty and Angel at a party and this is before Liberty marries her husband. The book then jumps ahead and Liberty is married but is in a seemingly loveless marriage. While going about her usual business, one of my darkest nightmares happens to her and she ends up on an island for the super elite and is in a brothel of sex slaves. How she got there, I can’t say without spoiling the book for you!
I loved this book and am about to dive into book 2 because I can’t wait any more to find out what happens next! This book has great character development, the plot has depth and moves at a fast pace and the spicy scenes are HOT! Please heed the trigger warnings because at times this can get pretty dark as well. If you are looking for a trilogy that will hook you eat, eat you up and hopefully will put you back together, grab this book now!

Twists you don't see
At first, I was like this book is like any other dark romance you read, captive and captor, a forbidden romance.... And then I was slapped with plot twists that i didn't expect at that point. Seriously by the end I was like who do I believe? Do I actually root for any of the characters? The FMC was annoying at many parts but then her thoughts justified her action, we all can't be immune to stress and how to handle our emotions. I understand her but not necessarily like her, actually I don't think I like any MC in this book but still I am totally invested in this story and to find out what in the name of dark romance is happening here? And more importantly when did it start...

Liberty and Angel meets at charity events and sparks flys even though she in a relationship. Angel is ruthless business man help runs his friend Sawyer own. This is an private island for man who has kinks that are not acceptable. Five years, Liberty is now in a loveless marriage but when she gets take to the island. She refuse to bend to their rules. She also reunites with Angel who she only knows as Mr. A at first. Her stay here is twisted and dark at times. She will have to face her lowest point before she will see any hope. Angel will try to protect as much as he can but nothing will prepare you for the cliffhanger ending.

Such a good book!
I feel bad for loving Liberty's book lol. She has a bad marriage without love and then she's in a situation that she'll never get out of. I don't want to give anything away, but definitely check your triggers before reading. The cliffie too though, if you don't like cliffhangers maybe wait until aso of the books at out, but I'm a glutton for punishment and did not wait. 🤣🤣

Overall, Caging Liberty was okay. I’m a regular dark romance reader, so I’m no stranger to themes like kidnapping and human trafficking, and I usually enjoy those tropes. Unfortunately, this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
A big part of that was the characters. Mr. A, the love interest, came off more as a gaslighting jerk than a complex antihero, which was frustrating. Liberty, the FMC, felt pretty gullible and rushed into action without thinking things through. I had a hard time connecting with her or really getting invested in their relationship.
The tone was another issue. For a dark romance, it felt more “dark light.” I expected a bit more intensity, but it never really got as gritty or suspenseful as I was hoping.
And then there’s the terminology. “Honey-filled hole”? Yeah, that was a little much and definitely pulled me out of the story.
That said, I think this could work for someone newer to dark romance who’s looking for something a bit lighter. But for those who’ve read a lot in the genre, it might feel a bit tame. It wasn’t a bad read, but I won’t be continuing with the series.

absolutely was living for this book. i’ve had this book on my kindle for a while and i had gotten it from a stuff your kindle day and i didn’t know that i would enjoy it as much as i did. i want to continue the series and im tempted to buy the books on kindle but maybe soon i will.
this was a great read and honestly the cliff hanger makes you want to continue the series. it’s just the right amount of dark and sex

This book was really good! I love Liberty! She’s a strong woman. Angel and sawyer were great characters. Desiree got what was coming to her. She was a nasty woman. I want to know more about Angel and see how this all plays out. I think Liberty was right about him and I had my suspicions but only time will tell. I didn’t like Sawyer at first but towards the end he grew on me! I hope Naomi gets justice for what happened to her.

I thought it was really good! Super fast paced. Quick read. Difficult subject matter (sex trafficking) but written well and didn’t get too graphic or difficult to read. Obsessive and possessive MMC. Smart and strong willed FMC. Scary because this is definitely something that could really be happening. Ends on a major cliffhanger so have book 2 ready!

Captivating
Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Definitely has a realistic feel especially nowadays with billionaires and secret islands. The cattiness between the woman feels spot on even though they should be on each other's side. That cliffhanger? Very interested to see how she gets herself out of this and how Angel explains himself.

WOW! I don't know how to describe this book. It is nothing I have read before. Read the triggers it is a dark read. But I loved it. Angel meets Lib five years earlier at a party. And he is obsessed. She Marrys the man she was with. 5 yrs later she is taking to a island to be come a sex slave. She meets Mr. A who is Angel, Also Sawyer who is the owner. There is a lot going on in this book. It ends in a cliffhanger. Now I need the next one. Recommend

This book is amazing. Angel, I don't know half the time if I want to jump on or stab with a knife. Liberty, I want to pity sometimes , and other times, I want to slap her up across the head. The storyline that wraps this twisted book together just is....Wow. So much creativity had to go into creating this story. Highly recommend!

Wow! Not my usual kind of book I read but I loved it. Liberty is not happy in her marriage and is kidnapped and sold into human trafficking. Twists and turns you will want to read.
