Six months after the horrific events of RESIDUE changed his life forever, Jack Bishop has moved to Sacramento, California, where he desperately looks for a way to find his missing father. He has improved his ability to see the psychic residue left behind by monsters and murder victims, but he has hit a dead-end in his search. What he doesn’t know is a psychic creature of immense power has been let loose on the city, and Jack will have only days to stop it before it causes irreversible damage not only to his new home, but to the world itself.
In PARASITE, Jack and the mind-reading Alexandra (Alex) Courtney will face stakes like never before. Only by working together can they hope to survive and save their family, friends, and each other from this new supernatural threat.
So the last book and the beginning of this book was slow and then it exploded with action. It is entertaining but also doesn’t feel too realistic. Jackets emotions at the end felt genuine when faced with very few options. Got to say though … grandpa showing up literally right at the end well after he could have offered some meaningful advice was kind of dumb. It’s like obiwan communicating to Luke if he’s failed to kill the Death Star lol. Still interested in the series though. The parasites are freaky. Enjoyable even if I have some issues with it.
But its supposed to be like that. This is a horror novel. Extremely well done , Mr. Diamond. Saw about a dozen typos, essentially incorrect word substitutions, but otherwise the copy editing was excellent.
Now, please get busy and finish writing the third book. My wife and I are anxious to see what you come up with for the climax. It had been a great ride reading the first two books! A very different kind of story line. Well thought out and developed.
This book picks up where book one left off...and the pace is still frantic! The cross between mystery/thriller and urban fantasy is great! The author is slowly revealing the secrets behind the corporation...and Jack's relation to it.
This is probably best labeled as a paranormal thriller but it has elements of urban fantasy, sci-fi, and of course horror and romance. Very fast paced and enjoyable!
