The night I met Bree, she was beaten and broken. I saw her pain and fear, but I also saw her strength. I was drawn to her right from the start. But her sister’s in love with my brother. We all live in the same building, and I was very expressly warned to keep my hands to myself. In other words, Cara told me she’d cut off my balls if I went there. But when Declan asks me to spend time with Bree so he can convince her sister to move in with him, I can’t say no. I can do this. I can be her friend. I can ignore her lush lips, her killer curves and just be there for her, any way she needs me. I’m doing it too, never crossing that line…until she knocks on my door at midnight. Now I want to make her mine, but i’m not just up against our family, i’m also fighting Bree’s demons. And I’m pretty sure her sister runs faster than me, even in her stilettos.
The Brash Brothers series gets seriously better and better with each book!
With book 7 we have Nick - and us Brash diehards have been dying to know what was up with him and Bree for too long now… and this wasn’t what I expected. It was so much better.
Nick is sweet, wholesome and endearing - he can also charm the pants off anyone, the biggest flirt you’d ever meet… and so damn patient. When you consider who he lost his heart to, you’ll know why that’s so damn important.
My only grumble - and it is small - is how abruptly these books end. But I’m a sucker for an epilogue so maybe that’s just me. And given how each of these books pretty much pick up where the last leaves off I get it but still… I’m impatient for glimpses of the future I guess lol.
I was surprised that the author decided to skip Maverick and Ransom and go straight to John for the next book, but that man is an enigma I can’t wait to unpack, so I ain’t mad!
Another thing I’m surprised about is why I don’t hear more about this series - the love stories are one thing but the world building is another - the ability to create characters with this amount of love and sass and banter and personality is so rare - the dynamic between the brothers and their quirks is hands down my favourite part of this series.
So if you’re on the fence about reading these books - jump off and jump in! They’re amazing! But do the series justice and start from the beginning (Kade).
This one was amazing. I just loved them together. Bree and Nick are just so cute, and I just live how everyone found out about them. But her sisters reaction just pissed me the fuck off, she need help for her issues. I can't wait to rea the next book.
The brothers were brothering and the two main characters were pretty fun.
However, this book has a LOT of repetition. Now, it's probably unfair of me to accuse this book because it's actually Book 8 that repeats a LOT of what is in this book but I made the mistake of reading book 8 first...
This author has been overlapping the storylines really well in this series, but this and book 8 overlap a little toooo much and there are multiple scenes repeated line for line.
I love the brothers and there are so many satisfying times with these. At this point, I'm reading this series for the brotherly affection. The romances are fine... occasionally better than fine... but the bromances!? Gold, pure gold.
I do not like Cara... and Declan is also unlikeable. Their book was my least favorite and this couple remains on my shit list.
Nick & Bree are so SWEET! This one didn’t honestly feel as fast paced as some of the others which I really enjoyed. Some of the previous characters have been in relationships so quickly, this was a nice change. It didn’t drag out for too long, it felt just right. This was a nice easy read, quick to suck you in and keep you there. Nick is one of the brothers we know less about as far as the series up to this point goes, so it was really nice to find out more about him. This book does a great job of delving into trauma and its effects on lives, but doesn’t get too heavy. I’ve absolutely devoured the Brash Brothers series and plan to continue!
This book didn't disappoint like any of the books In the series, it made me laugh, cry and grin like a loon. To see bree's progress over the series and to get to know nick too made me really happy
This book is keeping inline with the series. I never laughed so much and get so emotional for a book like this in a very long time. But OMG I absolutely love this. Can’t wait to start the next book in this series.
Nick and Bree's story is all about healing. The family dynamic is fun to watch as it grows and changes. I am thoroughly enjoying this series and look forward to the next one.
I really enjoyed Bree and Nick's story. I didn't feel like it went in tangents at times - a whole lot was happening - but it came together really well.
Yeah this was not my favourite. Why they treating Bree like a literally child and not a consenting adult, I get trauma but Jesus. And to do it while your friend is literally having a baby. Read the room! Don’t get me wrong Nick and Bree were adorable, it was everyone else in this book I just wasn’t a fan of. I don’t know what it is about Cara but I’m just not a fan of her, I could handle reading her story, but just overall I’m not a fan and that wasn’t helped in this book. Their reaction, their timing, it felt like John was the only one with working brain cells. Hopefully his book is good cause this series has slowly been declining since Colton’s book.
I have waited and waited for each book to drop, and this was no different. I understood when the release got pushed back but I still highly anticipated it. Nick like all the Brash brothers, is wonderful. This book however was not a feel good romance, it wasn’t dark but it was heavy and while reading I didn’t feel giddy and excited about the way their story played out. It dragged for me and I had to try to focus unlike the other books. Ransom didn’t even get a cameo until the last 20% of the book and even then, he is moving funny…I feel so much unease and anxiety surrounding him. I’m nervous that HE is gonna pull away or make some big decisions that family. My nerves can’t handle that.
This is a low low spice super slow burn book and we get like 1 maybe 1.5 semi pg13 spicy scenes. This book was so so much inner dialogue that I got bored. Also, I was so disappointed in Cara and Declan and their response to finding out Nick and Bree were together. Clearly Cara has her own issues she needs to deal with but poor Nick, he didn’t deserve her verbal assault. She has a lot of audacity and she didn’t even apologize to Nick! I am still disappointed with her. And Declan, I know you love Cara but you’re a real crappy brother. I can’t believe he stayed silent and didn’t once try to defend his brother. None of these guys except Jonas were Boy Scouts prior to meeting and falling for their ladies so the fact he didn’t stand up for Nick…made me so mad. John was the only one paying attention and he spoke the absolute truth to the guys in the hospital. I love his cooking lessons and how he interacts with the guys…lol his reactions to their shenanigans was the comic relief in this story. I didn’t get the HEA feel when the story ended, just maybe a HFN. I didn’t feel happy and gidddy at the end, this story felt very unfinished to me…like it just suddenly ended mid season feel.
I know we get John’s story next, with Abby. I was not a fan of Abby when she entered this group she gave me a bad vibe…but we shall see if she is better that that initial impression. This book she seemed way different but…I’m stubborn so.
I am crossing my fingers that Ransom is wanting to buy that shop in the middle of nowhere in hopes of them all basically overtaking the town and making it their own. All of their houses on a compound or in a culdesac type situation. Yards for the babies. A slower pace life where they get back to focusing on family and not business. And maybe he meets a single mom to a few unruly boys there and takes care of them.
Also, I think Jenna opened the door to a spin off with Connie and her 5 grandsons…I’m very interested in that storyline. Hint hint Jenna!
Overall these books all have some sort of damsel in distress and one of the brothers fall madly in love and changes their lives then HEA. This book I really felt was different. Not 1 family dinner took place. The shenanigans were so sparse if at all other than a brief nerf war. I missed the family aspect we get in each book. And in every book the brothers always converge around the brother falling in love, as a whole and support and help him but this book didn’t have that. At all. I missed it. These stories are made because of that amazing family dynamic and poor Nick deserved better.
Overall a good book and will continue to read the series. The secondary characters are great. This one felt weighed down by their background traumas and the focus on the relationship was secondary. This is the first book in the series that I recall skimming some.
This was yet another rip-roaring story in the Brash Brothers series, and Nick & Bree show us just how much of a struggle it can be, sometimes, to climb out of the deepest, darkest hole, that life can suddenly deal for you.
Once again, this was a story that had me belly laughing one moment, and then sobbing my heart out the next, and I was urging both of them on as much as I could, all along the time that they fought to hold on to each other.
With each of these Brash Brother stories, I've had to laugh a little, as my own relationship with my husband began, when we met for the first time, on 30th June, 1983. We were married on 8th October that same year, just 13 weeks later! Lol
So many people questioned the time span, just like Cara questioned the brevity of Nick and Bree's relationship but, when you know, you know, and that's what happened in our case.
The night my hubby and I met, we KNEW that this was meant to be, and we had almost 35 wonderful years together, until he died suddenly, one night, of heart failure.
There are plenty of broken relationships out there, but there really are a LOT of amazing marriages, that are glued together with that strongest of glues, a soul-deep, bone-deep, enduring love.
I was one of the lucky ones, to have had that almost 35 years with my darling man and, still, after seven years of his absence, I still love him with that same bone-deep love, that got me at the first sight of him.
I think that this is one of the reasons why I enjoy reading this series so much, thinking of it, as each of the Brothers' stories took me back to my own, and there's nothing so wonderful as revisiting that kind of love!
With Nick & Bree's story told, I'm going to go straight on to Book Eight: 'John', as we find out just what this almost stranger among the Brash Brothers, is going to do with his relationship with Abby!
So, once I've finished reading this, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what happens to them both in this, their own story!
I started reading the Brash Brothers series when I was looking for some easy yet entertaining reading. And I can say; the series does not disappoint! It's exactly that.
The connection and love all of the brothers (and now their partners) have for each other is amazing. It's endearing, it's absolute chaos, it's showing that you're worthy to be loved no matter who you are and what you've gone through. And maybe, just maybe, it's getting stares from people when all of a sudden you start laughing out loud while reading the series ;)
But I feel this book deserves it's own review. Where most of the books pick up right where the last one left off, this book goes back in time a little more and am I glad Jenna did this. I feel like she spent more time in this book building her characters, not only showing their insecurities but giving them time to explore and the choice whether to confront these as well. To not just jump at the chance of love (but rather to slowly fall and build a strong foundation) but to go through the whole process before it; Can I trust my feelings? Am I sure this is not just a crush? What if it doesn't turn out okay? What if giving it a shot means loosing all of the people I care about when it doesn't work out? Can I be there for him/her while I'm battling my own demons at the same time? What if I'm not worthy of this kind of love? These are some of the questions Nick and Bree battle with and maybe even some you've ever asked yourself when falling in love.
This book in a way is slower than the other books and contains less "spicy" scenes in comparison to some of the other books, but that's exactly who Nick and Bree are and what they deserve in the telling of their story
(Also Jenna, in the highly unlikely case you read this; I hope there are a lot more stories waiting to be told from the world you imagine in your head because we need them all)
I adore Nick so much. He’s now tied with Declan as the one in this series that I would have fallen for. (Even though I’m a little peeved at Declan right now after how he and Cara behaved in this book. I have to admit that the point made by their behavior, how Cara was seen as having fully recovered and Bree was seen as fragile and not recovering enough was really a reflection of what Cara wanted to be true, not what was actually happening, was freaking fantastic).
Also, what I had niggling at the back of my mind (after meeting Connie in Zack’s book) I became more certain of after this one. I totally think Connie’s grandsons are going to get a series of their own. The introduction to Gabe made me too sure of it. There’s no way she doesn’t plan for that guy to be a romantic lead in a future book.
Loved how these books keep giving us one foray into the more immediate recovery from a trauma during adulthood juxtaposed with a recovery from the lingering effects of a childhood trauma.
I did think that there was a missed opportunity for a character with different types of lingering effects from a traumatic brain injury and the recovery from that. Given the description of the attack on Bree, she was an opportunity to show us things like the confusion, difficulty emotionally regulating, impulsiveness, some or gross motor skills impairments, memory deficits, brain fog, chronic fatigue, sensory impairments or any one of the many different things that follow a traumatic brain injury. I’m not sure whether I prefer that over the point she made about Cara. Since I don’t think both could be there.

Nick and Bree were fine. They were good. Their story felt like it was maybe one of the more generic ones of the group, if such a thing exists? But it was still good, it was fun. I think I missed a lot of the found family elements again in this one because these two were wrapped up in their own world a lot of the time. But it was fine.
What wasn't fine was
Nick and Bree are cute, and they carried hard here, honestly. If they hadn't, all of that would have had me rating this story somewhere down where Cara's story was.
CW: domestic violence (historic), death (historic), death of parents (historic), death of grandparent (historic), alcoholism (historic)
Nick doesn't believe he has the right to be happy because when he was seven he caused his abuelita's death. Bree is broken after her boyfriend almost killed her and her sister killed him. Now that her sister is happy with Declan and moving on, Bree doesn't want to hold her back by burdening her with her nightmares and panic attacks. Enter Nick, who has been asked by his brother Declan to make friends with Bree. But their feelings soon move past friendliness and into relationship territory, though Bree isn't sure if she's quite ready for that yet.
This book is slow-burn, with the usual banter and hijinks amongst the brothers that make me laugh out loud. I thought Bree's past trauma was really well addressed and not just swept under the rug. Both Bree and Nick have some healing to do from their childhoods and their relationship develops much more organically than some of the other couples (*cough* Jonas and Janey *cough*). I really appreciated that about this book. I'm not the biggest fan of slow burn usually, but this book moved quickly enough, and I was invested enough in the couple, that the wait didn't feel endless. I also love a man with long hair, so Nick really did it for me.
Would recommend to any fans of contemporary billionaire romances and really anyone else who enjoys some comedy with their heavy topics.
It's serious in places, and hilarious in others.Bree has a very painful past she is trying to overcome and her sister Cara has always been there to help, listen if needed. But has Bree's life goes on she notices Nick who has his own problems to handle and he's done pretty well on taking care on them but he still has his days notice 's Bree and her struggles, he trys to be there but their is a fine line he can't cross being Cara's sister ,so he byes his time but Declan,Cara's man asks him to watch Bree so he can have time together.,Cara asks Nick the same thing,Bree goes thru some major changes and it brings them closer together and then it comes a time where Nick and Bree realize they care for each other but they can't take it public but when everyone is at the hospital waiting for the newest arrival, Cara notice 's Nick getting closer to Bree and s her sister isn't happy, words are exchange and Bree tells her how she feels about Nick and Nick tells Cara and Declan and every one else how he feels.Things are in a happy spot! GUYS read this story,it's very uplifting, from the hardships to getting a dog to finally come out of his cage,to having a paint gun war! Oh Nick is great looking eye candy and you need to read the story for more hotness!
Bree and her big sister, Cara, had a traumatic experience in which Bree's BF attacked her, and Cara fought him off. He ended up dead. (Event happened in a previous book from this series).
Declan wants Cara to feel comfortable leaving Bree to move in with him, so he asks Nick to spend more time with her (Bree). Then he has the nerve to get upset when they catch feelings and start seeing each other.
I love being able to watch Bree heal. It's slow going, obvious signs of PTSD to be worked through.. But Nick is there every step of the way, and she helps him heal from childhood trauma and guilt himself.
There's drama between Bree and Cara because Cara feels responsible for Bree and goes overboard in the protective arena... Which actually seems kind of odd because she's never really around - she's always with Declan. I don't know.. it just seems like a lot of people having opinions they haven't earned the right to have.
Nick and Bree are good together, though. I love them. The main characters are what boost my rating.. not necessarily the dynamic between the main and supporting characters.
What can I say. I'm so damn hooked on this series. Nick's read did not disappoint. OMG Mr. Hollywood himself. He has a way of solving problems and soothing ruffled feathers but when he falls head over heels for Cara's sister Bree there is no one to sooth him. When they were outed as a couple Cara said some pretty nasty/mean things to him. She was forcing her insecurities and fear onto her sister and not letting her heal. This scene right here made me not like her at all. Yeah I probably just ruffled a few feathers with this statement. Cara needs to back off and go get help. Nick and Bree are perfect for each other and I loved their story. I love everything about the brothers. They are like a bunch of big kids especially when it comes to family and babies. OMG take about ovaries exploding. GAH. I'm so glad I took a chance on this Author. Now I have to wait until March 30th for John's story. I have a feeling this may be a tough one to read. Yep him and Abby. Oh and jumping for joy that Maverick and Ransom's reads are up for preorder.
I swear I think these boys get better and better with every book. And while as a whole, I didn't like Nick and Bree as much as some of the others, the deeper I get into this world, the more I want to be part of their family! A group of men, who come from tough backgrounds and worked hard to become billionaires...who also tend to like tall, curvy women...where is the sign up form?!
While I'll still proclaim that overall, Nick and Bree weren't my favorite book couple...they are high up there. With only Jonas and Janey beating them out (and let's be real, that's mostly because of Jonas). For what felt like the first time, Bree's trauma felt real and it felt handled sensitively and delicately by the author. I think Jenna has been good with that overall (with the exception of Cara...I just DON'T LIKE CARA).
My only frustration...and why this doesn't get a higher rating...is the whole "I can't date him/her cause he/she is like family. He/she is practically my sister". Like I know they are a found family, and they pick up strays to care for so easily, but that's NOT HOW IT WORKS. Just cause her sister is dating your non-blood related brother, doesn't mean you aren't allowed to be attracted to or date her...and vise versa. My god. I'm so over that rhetoric in books!
I'm a little nervous for Abby and John next. I think in my mind, it's felt like the OG 9 boys should get their girls first, but I think with all the hints of Abby and John together over the past few books...we need to see how that plays out in order for their book to not just be an "other side play by play" (cause I've read those books...and they are BORING).
4/5 stars. I liked Bree and hell of a lot better than Cara and Nick was cool. Not sure anyone will top Jonas though....maybe Ransom. I'm holding out so much hope for Ransom.
This series is amazing. I've been waiting for Nick and Bree story for way too long, and Jenna Myles did not disappoint.
My only wish is that this story was longer. I need more Nick and Bree. These are two broken souls with tragic pasts who struggle with grief and guilt.
We all have pasts that shape our future. Nick and Bree are super relatable.
Jenna Mike's stories are what fantasies are made of. It's what most humans want. Raw sexy and heartwarming love
I can't wait to have my own Nick one day. He'll, I'll settle for any of the Brash Bros. I love them all and all of their ladies and their kiddos. Such a Loveable growing group.
Jenna Myles writes damn good stories. If you haven't checked out her books.... dooooo it right now. Right the ef now! You won't regret it!
At book 7, I still don’t like Becca. She doesn’t need to be so focused in every book. She is not likeable as a female.
Bree and Nick worked well and they were able to get through some of their own personal demons.
The best scenes always are when the men are together being themselves with each other and not the roles they have assigned to one another.
I read a review where the disliked Abby. Abby has no faith in herself anymore from staying too long and losing herself in a long term relationship. Realistically we have all been there before. It is harsh to judge her when you have really seen the details of her story.
Cara’s reaction was too harsh and completely unfair because Nick isn’t what she wanted for her sister.

Nick and Bree are perfect for each other and I love that they started as friends! They both fight their feelings for each other thinking they can’t be together because of their family and their issues but the more time they spend together the more they heal each other and then there is no stopping the fall! 😍
Nick is the ultimate charmer and I loved getting more of his story and realising he hides a lot behind the charm and Bree went through something so tragic it’s great seeing her become stronger and happier. They both so deserve their happy ending!
I really liked how the author dealt with Bree's recovery from her traumatic event. And the way Nick helped by being her friend first. There didn't seem to be as much hesitation and issues with not feeling worthy enough in this book, which I enjoyed. That same old problem can get to be a bit much over and over. Nick's issues of feeling guilty for his grandmother were a bit of a stretch for me since literally nothing about his personality reflected that torment but I guess he had to have something wrong with him.
I just didn't feel as much of a spark between these two as the other couples, which is why I deducted a half star. But I did enjoy the chaos at the hospital while Holly was giving birth.
IDK I like Nick and Bree but… the whole thing seemed ridiculously contrived. “Oh we can’t be together because our siblings won’t like it!”
Except every single book up until this book has made me think the exact opposite. I have a hard time thinking anyone would care, especially Cara, ESPECIALLY because in her book it seemed like she WANTED them to get together.
And Bree and Nick just did not have the chemistry I wanted. I felt like they made great friends but kinda terrible lovers. And Nick just didn’t give me the same protective warm fuzzies that his brothers did.
It wasn’t badly written but I feel like it was a lot of drama for drama’s sake and not because anything was actually happening.
Nick and Bree's Friendship Tryst! 4.35*****/5 Spoiler Alert!!
Nick Ramos, Mr. Fix-It Brash Bros, met Bree post her deadly, Tyler encounter and ' friended' her back into trusting herself, by becoming his soulmate, at Declan's request. But her sister, Cara, Ransom's right hand, had some mean things to say about Nick and some of the guys, which Ransom needed to have a conversation with her. Her BKA-amputated patient, Gabe, was Connie's (wealth 80y/o) grandson, and he now really knows where she lives. Ha, ha. HEA but this took too long to got to the end...hmmmm! John and Abby, Maya's jilted assistant from NYC, should be next. A Fair-Read.

A great next book in the series dealing with serious topics. Bree had been almost killed by an ex boyfriend, and her sister saved her by killing him. Bree had PTSD (as did Cara) so both moved into the Brash brothers’ highly secured apartment building. When Nick meets Bree, he’s instantly smitten, but Cara gives him a warning, he just longs from afar. Later her boyfriend Declan asks Nick to hang out with Bree to keep her and Cara comfortable and ease along the idea of Cara moving in with him. Bree finds Nick attractive too but she is still suffering and isn’t sure how she can feel safe again. A poignant and realistic portrayal of two people trying to overcome trauma (Nick has his own)and families trying to adjust to change.
Awww… just finished and I’ve got that sweet feeling inside, like everything is right with the world. If you, like me, have been along for the Brash brother ride from the start with Kade’s book then, Nick’s will be another excellent addition. If you’re new to this series, I highly recommend going back and reading from the start. I’ve been getting hints about Nick and Bree in the last couple of books and I’ve been looking forward to them getting their own story and this did not disappoint. Now I’m jonesing for a John and Abby fix. Jenna Myles writes ‘anticipation’ sooo good, I’m desperate to finally get to Ransom’s story but scared as well, scared that no woman is going to be good enough for my Ransom. He deserves the best. 😂
