A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

Opposites don’t attract. They ignite.

The small Montana town near the Kooskia reserve seemed like the perfect place for Juliet Montgomery to hide from her not-so-law-abiding family. But when her peace is shattered by a break-in and threatening phone calls, it’s clear someone back in New York knows where she is. It’s time to plan her getaway, and fast—but first, she needs to tie up a few loose ends. Namely, finding out exactly what the town’s sexy cowboy sheriff is hiding in his holster...

Sheriff Quinn Lodge has enough demons of his own to know when someone’s hiding something. Clearly, he needs to do a thorough investigation to uncover what’s beneath Juliet’s uptight, city-girl exterior—preferably one piece of clothing at a time. But when their chemistry goes from fizzy to full-on explosive, things start getting complicated. How can Juliet stay beneath the covers with Quinn, when doing so means blowing her cover?

Under the Covers by Rebecca Zanetti
2nd book in the Maverick Montana series. Entangled Brazen romance series.
Juliet moved to a small Montana town and opened a business, starting a new life. She and Sheriff Quinn start a steamy relationship that burns hot. But her time is running out and her past is catching up too fast to run from.

Fast moving sexy hot romance. Visits from characters in the other novellas in the series tie the novels together. The young girl that is fascinated by designers shoes is endearing. Bottom line stand up characters are admirable and make this a feel good story.

Under the Covers is book two in the Montana Mavericks series by Rebecca Zanetti. This is Quinn and Juliet’s book and I LOVED it! Just as much or maybe even a smidge more than the first book.

Juliet Montgomery moved to the small town of Mineral Lake, Montana and rented a downtown business and has started Mineral Lake’s first art gallery. Since moving to town, she has become fast friends with the Lodge/Freeze family. After realizing what an amazing artist Sophie was, they are busy planning her first showing. It’s just what she needs to put the small gallery on the map.

Quinn Lodge is the next brother after Jake. He is the current sheriff of Mineral Lake. He loves his job and taking care of the community of people he cares deeply for. Ever since Quinn first saw Juliet, he felt the pull towards her. But she wasn’t having it. He’d asked her out many times only to be refused each and every time. But when Juliet needed help, Quinn saw the opportunity and grabbed it. He made her a deal for six weeks as his fake girlfriend. But the sparks were so strong between these two. It doesn’t take long for fake to start feeling real! Especially when Quinn kisses her.

Quinn wants Juliet. For how long he doesn’t know. Only that he doesn’t want to walk away. But he knows she’s hiding something. He’s a patient man and is willing to wait it out for her to tell him the truth because the more time he spends with his Juliet, the more he wants her for longer than just a few weeks. Maybe even for forever!

This book was a bit more suspenseful than book one which I loved. It was also so steamy! In both books, these couples have quite a thing for having their private times together out in the open! It was also so much fun as once again the towns people conspired to get these two together. It had me laughing so many times.

This was fun, steamy, and kept me turning the pages with the suspense. In other words, it had it all and I loved it. I adore this family of siblings. Now I can’t wait to read the next book, Colton’s book, Rising Assets. I suspect it’s going to be amazing!

This is a smokin' hot romance with a great mystery plot. It packs a lot of hot, steamy sex and a mystery into 198 pages. I am a real fan of an author who can pack so much into so few pages. This book has everything you need and nothing that you don't.

Juliet Montgomery has settled in the small Montana town of Maverick and opened an art gallery specializing in Western Art. She is amazed that in so short a time she has become integrated into the community. But, unfortunately, it is time to move on. She is going to miss the friendly neighbors and the wonderful friends she has made, but most of all, she is going to miss the hot off the charts Sheriff, Quinn Lodge. Juliet is on the run from her gangstr family in New York and she fears they have found her.

Quinn Lodge is the Sheriff of Maverick County and is in a tough reelection campaign and he doesn't have time for the murders happening in his peaceful community and he, especially, doesn't have time in his life for the complications that Juliet brings although he could sure use her as a pretend girlfriend to keep the rest of the women he has attracted at bay. Who knows, maybe pretend will become actual. Getting and keeping her in his bed quickly becomes a goal, but soon, keeping her safe becomes a priority.

4 Smokin' Hot Sexy Sheriff Stars!!!

Sheriff Quinn Lodge is a calm, cool, sexy, kind, and considerate not to mention a alpha badass!! Juliet is strong, independent, fun and kind of snarky. Their mutual attraction has been building for months and what starts as a favor, her agreeing to act as this girlfriend to ward off an unwanted admirer with political ties and therefore avoid crossing some political higher ups (it's election time for the sexy sheriff) in exchange he'll let her slide on the rent her Art Gallery is housed in until her big upcoming art exhibit.

The very thin line of no bodily contact Juliet insisted on was blown all to hell as soon as he kissed her, he kisses her hard & deep!...their first sexual encounter had me laughing out loud once the deed was done!!!

Unfortunately Juliet is running from her past and eventually her past catches up with her and as with Sophie in Against the Wall the whole community (not to mention the Lodge/Freeze Clan) rally around her and engulf her in their fold.

I just have to mention the love scene that takes place in the rain that will have you panting and wishing this sexy sheriff belonged to you!!!!

Looking forward to Colt & Melanie's book next Rising Assets. Hopefully there will the a 4th book featuring Dawn & Hawk? Keeping my fingers crossed Rebecca Zanetti!!!!

"This is going somewhere, Juliet," he said. Panic shoved desire out of the way. She shook her head.
Amusement filtered through his eyes." Apparently you need time. That's all right. I'm a very patient man."

Just another fantastic book from Rebecca Zanetti and the second in the Maverick Montana series.
This was just a joy to read. All classic books for me have to have a chase or a part where the man slowly weres down his female of interest. This was done well in this book, Quinn had his eyes set on Juliet and he was going to get her come hell or high water. Like I said, very enjoyable.
We have the previous characters making themselves known and to me that always makes a book seem more friendly and familiar. I cannot wait to see how things go for Colt and Melissa or Dawn and Hawke. mmmmmmmmm Hawke.
If you are after a satisfying romance with good characters and high level steaminess, check out Under the Covers, it won't let you down.

A sweet and sexy alpha romance with a touch of suspense, I loved this one!

This is the second book in the Maverick Montana series, and the story of the second Lodge brother, Quinn. In the first book of the series we got a hint of something simmering between Sheriff/cowboy Quinn and local gallery owner, Juliet. There is attraction there, for sure, but Juliet has run from her past and she’s got big secrets, ones she doesn’t want the Sheriff to find out about.

But with his job up for re-election and complications brewing, Quinn sees his opportunity and asks Juliet to be his fake girlfriend, and in exchange he’ll help her out financially until her gallery has its first big show. It’s a situation that suits them both, and suddenly they’re all up in each other’s lives. But with one kiss, everything changes, and Quinn is determined to get the girl.

“This is going somewhere, Juliet,” he said. Panic shoved desire out of the way. She shook her head.
Amusement filtered through his eyes. “Apparently you need time. That's all right. I'm a very patient man.”

Quinn is just as much of an alpha as his brother, Jake, creating a fantastic dynamic as he gets all growly and possessive. Juliet is more on board than Sophie (from the first book), and I could feel things start to develop for them. The sexy time is absolutely sizzling, and the emotion is really gorgeous, and I love these two together so much!

But Quinn knows that Juliet is hiding something. It’s not like she intentionally keeps it from him, she wants to share her life, but the situation is difficult, and there’s a lot going on in the story, and I could absolutely understand how the secret got kept for so long. And when all is revealed, it brings an element of suspense to the story as danger from Juliet’s past comes to the small town of Mineral Lake, and I loved watching it all play out.

This is a really enjoyable read. It’s short and the story moves quickly, but there’s still heaps of story packed in to it. Quinn and Juliet are great characters, and we get to see Jake and Sophie from the first book, as well as more Colton, Melanie, Hawke and Dawn. I’m growing more and more attached to these characters, and can’t wait to get their stories!

There’s an added element of fun as the Mineral Lake townsfolk all pitch in to do their part in bringing Quinn and Juliet together. They love their Sheriff, and their constant plotting to help him get his girl is lots of fun.

I loved this one - 4 stars.

Well if you thought Jake Lodge was hot in Against the Wall, you will be blown away by Quinn. Hot? Oh yes < fans self >.

Rebecca Zannetti has nailed it and given us a book that is quite possibly better than its predecessor, which is no mean feat as that was fabulous. It's well-written, the characters we loved from the first book are ever-present, it has a great storyline with some action and moments that make you smile and laugh along with those that are romantic, passionate, intense and just downright hot and sexy. I devoured it.

Sheriff/Cowboy Quinn Lodge oozes appeal on every possible level; he is sexy, stubborn, patient and dominant, but in that totally natural protective enforcer-of-the-law type way. Juliet is Maverick's elegant, sweet-natured and graceful art gallery owner who is hiding some secrets. Easier said than done, particularly when she is being pursued by the law. And I'm not talking about the justice system here, I'm talking about one sexy Sheriff who is very pleasing on the eye and has a way with words to make your heart, amongst other things, flutter...

I loved them both. Their stubborn natures resulted in sexual tension, passion and explosive action under the covers/on tables/al-fresco. And all perfectly balanced with lovely tender and romantic moments; Quinn truly managed to make me swoon. His family continued to be wonderful, the banter between the brothers brought many funny moments and it truly was a book that captivated me from the opening chapter and never faltered. A series not to be missed and I cannot wait for the next trip to Maverick.

I received this book as an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased opinion.

UNDER THE COVERS is that hot. Quinn is the least ‘afraid of talking about his dick’ character that I’ve read about yet. He takes responsibility for his needs, and that’s refreshing. Especially faced with a female character that denies her own for some time.

What I really enjoyed, besides the romance and the drama, is the action! Quinn is a sheriff, and Juliet has family in the mafia: you can guess that there’s going to be some fights and guns. And since the whole Lodge family is in it (yes, Jack comes back), and they’ve all been soldiers at some point, it’s gonna be good.

The character are well developped, you can’t help but falling a little bit in love with them. And it’s great to meet again with Sophie and Jack (from Against the wall) a few months later–a lot has changed for them–and with the rest of the family.

Maverick Montana is a series I like very much, and UNDER THE COVERS is better than Against the wall, imho. I can’t wait to read about the other Lodge siblings.

Juliet Montgomery has escaped to a small Montana town near the Kooskia reserve in hopes to getting away from her family. Her brother dabbles in some bad things and she wants nothing to do with it. However, those ties still hold her back when she gets involved with the hotter than hell sheriff, Quinn Lodge.

Quinn turned out to be quite the surprise. After reading AGAINST THE WALL, the first book of the series, I desperately wanted to read the rest of the sibling’s stories but I had no idea that Quinn would turn out to be so dominant. He likes control in the bedroom and that definitely spiced things up a bit. Their first sexual escapade actually involves the breaking of a coffee table so I’m sure you can catch my drift on how sexy this book turned out to be. Simply put, Quinn Lodge is a dream!

Since this book is on the shorter side of things, I flew through it so quickly. However, I do feel as if everything moved at a very fast paced. I wished it was longer so that the author could really take her time with the romance in the beginning. It felt a little bit rushed because a solid foundation to their relationship had to be established early on for the suspense aspect of the story to work well. I felt that it did work out on its own, but having more page time add would have made it that much stronger.

That being said, things wrapped up pretty quickly in the end. Again, I would have liked to see that Quinn and Juliet’s relationship was on steady ground before it ended too quickly.

If you’ve read the previous book in the series, then you know there is an emphasis on family. I LOVE THIS! The tight-knit group and all the banter between them propels this book from good to great. I am very much looking forward to reading all about the characters. Hopefully Hawk will have a book as well.

All in all, though a bit quick in some places, I loved this book. Zanetti’s writing is engaging and fun and paired with a hero who has a dominant streak and you’ve got a winner!

This is the second book in the Maverick Montana series. I enjoyed it more than the first one in the series, Against the Wall. The hero was less dominant/possesive, and the heroine was stronger and had a more interesting background story.

description

Quinn is the town's sheriff and he's a strong, sexy cowboy. Juliet moved to Montana to escape a shady past and is conflicted about lying to Quinn. We meet both of these characters in the first book, and it was great to get their story and catch glimpses of Jake and Sophie from book one. I found this story to be less steamy than the first, the characters were fleshed out better and there was a lot of action and mystery involving Juliet's past. Low angst and entertaining, I will probably follow the rest of the series.

Juliet is keeping secrets, she is running from her past and from her family but she doesn't want anyone to know why. She has tried to make a new life for herself and fulfil her dream of opening an art gallery but her money is about to run out and she has a feeling her past is about to catch up with her so she knows that she'll have to move on soon. She's determined to make a success of her gallery first though and at the same time help her friend Sophie hold her first public showing of her work. Local sheriff Quinn has had his eye on Juliet for months, he knows she is hiding something and is determined to get to the bottom of it but most of all he is keen to act on the chemistry that has been building between them. Juliet knows she is leaving soon so spending a little time with Quinn before she goes can't be dangerous can it? Well, not unless he steals her heart anyway.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I couldn't wait to get my hands on Under the Covers and get to know Quinn better. I loved Jake and I wasn't sure if Rebecca Zanetti could top him but she proved me wrong and Quinn is now my favourite Lodge brother! Everything I loved about Jake was taken to the next level in Quinn, he was even more dominant and loved to take control, especially in the bedroom (or on a table, or against the car, or . . . well you get the picture!). Quinn is the kind of guy who puts everyone else before himself, he looks out for the entire town and always has time to help someone in need even if it is with something that isn't officially part of his job description. He is also a hero who is suffering with PTSD from his time in the Special Forces, something that causes him to suffer horrific nightmares and makes him worry that he could end up hurting Juliet by accident.

Juliet is a really sweet woman but she is obviously keeping a major secret. It takes some time before this secret is revealed to the reader and even longer before Quinn discovers the truth. I did want her to open up to Quinn a little earlier than she did but considering that she hadn't known him for long I could understand why she was scared to let him in. They have fantastic chemistry together, the kind that makes them want to rip each others clothes off so they can get down and dirty immediately no matter what their location is, so expect super hot sex and plenty of it. I would have liked a little more time spent developing their emotional connection and getting to know each other but they were so hot together it didn't really matter too much.

One of the things I love about this series is the side characters, along with Quinn's entire extended family (who I love and can't wait to see more of!) you have a lot of colourful side characters in the town who add an extra layer to the story. I loved the way the whole town rallied to push Quinn and Juliet together, so many people could see they were perfect for each other and wanted them to be happy. It was great to catch up with Jake and Sophie, five year old Leila remains a star of the story and we also get to spend more time with the other Lodge siblings Colton and Dawn along with family friend Hawk. I have a feeling that Colton's book will be next and while I'm definitely looking forward to his story I'm desperate to get to Hawk's book - I'm pretty sure he will end up being my favourite hero of the series. He's quite a mystery at the moment but there is definitely something appealing about him and I can see why Dawn is so obsessed. While you don't have to read this series in order because each book is about a different couple I would suggest picking up Against the Wall first because there is so much character development across the two books. Both stories are excellent, sexy romances and ones that I'm sure I'll read again at some point in the future so I can happily recommend them. Rebecca Zanetti has joined my list of must read authors and I can't wait for the rest of this series to release.

WOW! Not often does the second book match the intenseness of the fist from a series, but UNDER THE COVER surpassed it. Whatever it was that didn't quite clicked with me while reading AGAIST The WALL, book 2 of the Maverick Montana Novels, has it. I'm not sure if its Quinn cocky arrogance which Rebecca writes so well or the tuff defiance that Juliet has to withstand him, but I totally absorbed this book!

Their chemistry sizzled off the page and their bantering had me laughing out loud.

His eyes drop to an amused challenging expression. He held out both hands, palms up. "Tell you what, darling. These hands won't touch you until you ask nicely. Very nicely."

"That'll never happen." she snapped.

His left eyebrow rose. "I wondered if that red hair came with a temper." Interest darken his eyes to midnight. "So much passion locked up in such a classy package. I thought so." He leaned into her space. "Be careful, or I'll make you beg."

She almost doubled over from the spike of desire that shot through her abdomen. "Back off, Sheriff!"

And that there is her biggest problem. Quinn is the sheriff. An law enforcement officer and with her past, she doesn't want to end up in incarcerated. So she hides behind a high brow, high society proper hoping it will quench her desire and have him look the other way but he's on to her game:

His upper lip quirked. "I have a confession Juliet. When you try to blow me off with that high society tone, all I want is to turn you over my knee and spank you to orgasm."

And he would do it too. I have no doubt and I just had to laugh. I could see him perfectly. Standing in that parking lot with his hands on the roof of the car. Her with a look of shock and wonder as she realize that he would do that very thing.

Those Lodge. Men. Mamma Loni did good. They take no shit yet they're always fair and nothing comes before the ones they love. I can't wait for book 3.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A second book as good as the previous one and that I devoured too quickly (I must admit that I was so curious to see what the relationship between Juliet and Quinn would look like =D)
There was everything I love about romance : humor, a badass and sexy sheriff, a heroine with secrets, a kidnapping, a creepy villain, steamy scenes and all that in a small Montana village =D
In short, for a light summer romance, perfect =D
Warning, this review is in no way professional.
Okay, I think it's fair to say Rebecca Zanetti is my new favorite Brazen author. I lost my mind reading AGAINST THE WALL and Rebecca continued to thrill me with UNDER THE COVERS.
Juliet Montgomery is a great heroine with a secret. I always enjoy romances with a little mystery mixed in. Juliet was someone you can easily cheer for. And, OMG, I am so nutty over Sheriff Quinn Lodge. He's just yumtastic, and together, they are red hot. I'm just going to say three words: horseback riding scene. Yup, that sums it up.
Seriously, I could go on and on about this damn series, but I'm going to save myself time and just tell you to go buy it. Buy both books. No really, get up right now and go buy them. You will thank me. :D
Bottom Line: Romance Readers Will Love This Series - Period.
The small town of Maverick Montana seemed the perfect place to find refuge from her past or so Juliet Montgomery believed. Unfortunately, the local sheriff, Quinn Lodge, is determined to uncover all of Juliet's secrets both in and outside of the bedroom.
Series note:This is book #2 in the series and focuses on the 2nd Lodge brother. Characters from book one appear but the plot is standalone.
While the book and the romance get off to a slow start, the pacing picks up at the halfway mark and the ending is exciting. Unlike book #1, there is more of a romantic suspense tone to this story due to Juliet's mysterious past.
As the story begins, Juliet has been living in Maverick for a while (perhaps a year), and is already familiar with Quinn and his family although she has been avoiding her attraction to him. Thus, it feels as if the reader is dropped in the middle of an existing relationship rather than one that is actually just getting going.
Nevertheless, Juliet and Quinn are both likable characters and it is easy to root for their HEA. Quinn has a tendency to see life in black and white while Juliet is more shades of grey. It is interesting to see him reconcile his strict outlook with his feelings for Juliet. Juliet is charming and one cannot help but laugh upon learning .
The suspense plot develops slowly but the climax is intense and there are some "edge of your seat" moments toward the end.
The small-town vibe with every resident feeling like they have a stake in Juliet and Quinn's relationship is delightful. The townfolks' attempts to get them together are hilarious.
The hints at the books to come for the next two Lodge-Freeze siblings are compelling, and I look forward to reading their stories.
This story had an exciting ending but frequently I had to force myself to continue reading. The heroine ruminated about her secret for more than half the book. The hero was all about sex. I lost interest and thereafter not much seemed believable. I prefer this authors paranormal books. Sheriff Quinn was attracted to art dealer Juliet and she is getting ready to leave town.
The story of Juliet, art gallery owner, and Quinn, the town's sheriff.
Juliet has been attracted to Quinn since she first met him, and the feeling seems to be mutual, but she has a few valid reasons for trying to resist his charms, at least for a while. She knows she'll have to leave town soon, and knowing she'll regret it if she lets the opportunity to be with Quinn pass her by, she gives in and the two start a steamy affair.
Everything comes to a halt, however, when .
All's well that ends well, and the couple eventually gets their well deserved happily ever after. I'm really enjoying the writer's style and stories so far and I'm looking forward to reading Rising Assets next.
Juliet is running from her dubious past, and Quinn can smell a rat a mile away, but is already in too deep! Quinn Lodge is testosterone and sex personified and he has his sights on Juliet. Whom better to get together with when you have secrets but the town sheriff who has a built in lie detector.
This is the second book in the Maverick Montana series. I enjoyed it more than the first one in the series, Against the Wall. The hero was less dominant/possesive, and the heroine was stronger and had a more interesting background story. Really, really enjoyed this sequel from Rebecca Zanetti! I loved the two characters, and the chemistry/sex scenes were sizzling - yum! Just like everything else iv read by Rebecca zanetti, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Quinn the sheriff was serious hot!! I enjoyed that he didn't hide that he wanted her from the beginning, he went straight in for the kill relentlessly perusing her until she finaly give in to his charm;). He was you typical bossy stroppy alpha hero with definite caveman tendencies and a filthy mouth to match. Really liked the second book in the series, I want more! Another great book! Loved the sexy, alpha sheriff Quinn. Lovable secondary characters and some very well written steamy scenes. I want another book in this series now, please! I don't know what these Lodge men are drinking but yowza. Again, I really enjoyed this book. The characters where well written and the plot was good.
"When I watched you, I wished for this. For you, in the firelight...becoming mine."
I adored this book! It was not only romance with suspense that kept me guessing as to what Juliet was running from, there was also a touch of humor with the local characters that had me grinning from ear to ear. I loved that Quinn was determined to make a place for himself in Juliet’s life. He did so without being pushy or domineering but casually inserting himself and inviting her to try him out in ways that gave her the upper hand as to how far things were going to go.
I wish I knew how to express the contented sigh I gave when I reached the end of this book. This has everything I absolutely love and is written by an author who knows how to give me those things in a style that keeps me engaged and turning pages. Highly recommend this one!
I absolutely loved this book. I did not want it to end. First of all Quinn Lodge - total alpha male. Not only that, he's the sheriff in town, his family owns a ranch and oh my god what a dirty talker. He bosses our heroine, Juliet, around and for some reason it's hot. Don't worry, Juliet is quite spunky and even if Quinn tells her what to do, she doesn't always listen. ;) Anyway, I loved the dynamics and it was so funny how the whole town seemed to try to get them together when the h/H were on the outs. There's some mild suspense that had to do with mobster involved and became the main conflict between the h/H. The sex scenes were scorching, Great supporting characters and it's setting up for future books. Now I want to get myself a Montana cowboy.
I haven't read the first book, but I'm about to rectify that.
I review paranormal, contemporary (including erotica), new adult and young adult romances. My 4 to 5 star reads can be found at:
This is book 2 of the series, about Quinn who is the town sherriff and his romance with Juliette whom we met in book one. This book was more suspenseful than the first, which is why it was 5 stars for me, as Juliette is hiding secrets about her past that could jeopardize his re-election for sherriff. Quinn is a total alpha badass. Love the guy. Loved that he kept doing his job no matter what the consequences with Juliette would be. Can't give details don't want to spoil story. Enjoyed that all the characters in the first book were featured in this book. Highly recommend this series. Read in order, but no cliffys.
First read: March 2014 (3 stars)
Reread: March 2017
Knocking off a star because seriously what is it with the writing being sub-par and Rebecca Zanetti's tendency to abuse the word male:
Dare, with more than a hint of male, glittered in his eyes.
-deepened the kiss, all male, all in control.
She sucked in air scented with male.
-and he pulled her into heat and male.
Male, wild, and free.
Quinn strode into the room with that male grace-
-the scent of male-
But I still love the Freeze-Lodge family despite this annoying flaw.
So good!
Quick, sexy, funny and full of family and friends. I loved this one even more than the last. I was skittish at first to read these because they weren't her PNR kind me I am so glad I did. Loooove Quinn and Juliet. And who doesn't love a good bar fight? ;)
Juliet is keeping secrets, she is running from her past and from her family but she doesn't want anyone to know why. She has tried to make a new life for herself and fulfill her dream of opening an art gallery but her money is about to run out and she has a feeling her past is about to catch up with her so she knows that she'll have to move on soon. She's determined to make a success of her gallery first though and at the same time help her friend Sophie hold her first public showing of her work. Local sheriff Quinn has had his eye on Juliet for months, he knows she is hiding something and is determined to get to the bottom of it but most of all he is keen to act on the chemistry that has been building between them. Juliet knows she is leaving soon so spending a little time with Quinn before she goes can't be dangerous can it? Well, not unless he steals her heart anyway. Will this secret destroy what Juliet and Quinn have?
This was a fun cute read. I liked the story as it came together when the secret is revealed. I really liked both characters it was sort of refreshing even though Quinn at times was really cocky but the banter between the two was fun.
