Gabriella is a journalist for Epic Mag, writing puff pieces about celebrities, and hating that she can't be writing her romance novel. Her current assignment is to go to a movie premier for the new Drake Gibson movie. Being a tell-it-like-it-is kind of girl she has no problem telling Drake that he is an asshole while there. Until he focuses his intense stare onto her, that is. Thinking she is going to lose the job she does as her boss wants, and goes to the after party to find Drake and apologize. What she finds once she gets there, though, isn't a guy who wants an apology, but a guy who wants her.
"She wanted to hate me, but her body gave way to her real feelings. If she had any idea of the things I wanted to do to her, she’d run." ~ Drake

Something Wicked is hot, hot, hot. I loved Drake's intensity in and out of the bedroom and wanted more! From the beginning you can tell that he has darkness in him that is just clawing to get out, and from the first second you see it, the story drags you in and makes you want to see more of it. His character definitely had flaws, and there were times I just wanted to smack him silly, but for the most part I just wanted him.

Gabby wasn't the type of person that bowed down to others, and I loved seeing that. She definitely wasn't going to fall at Drake's feet and worship him like so many others do, and that's what intrigued both Drake and me as a reader. It made the story so interesting to see what else she would say to him that would be a shock. Especially after she called him an asshole haha. She loved reading romance, and daydreaming that her life was like one of her books, which made me love her so much because it was so relatable. I just wish that we could have seen what happened with her book.

The only problem I had with the story was the ending. It was too neatly wrapped up, and ended very quickly. I also would have liked to see more of Drake and Gabby after all of the drama. We see a fierce love affair between the two characters at first but it seemed to dwindle down and I kept waiting for it to get scorching again.

Overall, this was a very smexy story with great characters and a great story of how they got together. This was my first book by Teresa Mummert but it will definitely not be my last.

Only 3 stars for this one although I do love Teresa's work I couldn't overlook some grammar issues.

Gabriella or Gabby to her friends works for a showbiz magazine. The Editor is a friend of her aunts so Liz overlooks Gabby's head in the clouds attitude to her work. She is sent on an assignment to cover a movie premiere that the very hot bad boy actor Drake Gibson stars in.
But their first meeting ends up with confrontation and Gabby worries that she will lose her job. The thing is that she has made quite an impression on Drake and the next time they meet sparks begin to fly, verbal spats and strong chemistry pull these two together.
Problem is Drake has a very demanding actress girlfriend Julia and Gabby has... Well Tyler, not a relationship made in heaven.
I really wanted to love this book but a few plot scenes got on my nerves and frustrated me for example Gabby's relationship with Tyler, I would have just kicked him into touch. I did love the steamy scenes between Drake and Gabby that was just spot on and I really liked both character's. If you like books about movie stars with a bit of angst and a fiery snarky heroine then this is the book for you.

I adore this author and this book was another fantastic storyline that I loved! The characters were amazing (I am a sucker for this type of story actor/rock star, with a secret past falls for sweet naive girl) This is the best! Drake and Gabby ...swoon what a story. Buy the book and enjoy as I did, you will not be disappointed. Sweet, hot and captivating! What more do you need?

I love this story. As always, Ms. Mummert twists the plot on its head and gives us plenty of funny and sexy. Gabby has a smart mouth that I love and a ton of sass. Drake is dreamy. I highly recommend this one!

I'm sorry to say that this story didn't work for me at all. I wasn't able to gain any attachment to either of the MC's, and found the race to the first sex scene more like a 50m sprint, lacking in forethought as well as foreplay.

There were quite a few errors, which I would usually not even comment on, but I think in this instance, it just added to the lacklustre narrative.

I have read and enjoyed previous books by this author, but this just didn't work for me this time.

Dear Drake...you are a cocky bastard but I love you......Love Heather

One smart comment in a moment of frustration changes Gabby's life. It puts the hot movie star Drake in her path and she can't go back.

Drake can't get the girl out of his mind. She isn't fake like the rest of the women he knows.

This is a fast paced and hot read. Add in a little dirty talking and it is Teresa at her best.

If you are a fan of any of Teresa's books then you will enjoy this one. Safe Word is still my favorite Teresa Mummert book. That one or this one is a good place to start if you haven't read her books.

I'm a fan of Teresa's writing but this piece didn't work for me for several reasons. What is up with the poor grammar?! I was shocked and distracted by obvious mistakes. I felt no real chemistry between Gabby and Drake. Gabby was a bit of a whiner. Overall, Something Wicked was something disappointing.

Drake is a successful actor who covers the sins from his past by pasting on a smile for everyone to see. Gabby wants to be a romance writer but instead works for a magazine at a job she hates. After smarting off at Drake at movie premiere she's afraid she'll lose her job. Only Drake has other plans. He's intrigued by the feisty little spitfire and can't seem to get her out of his head. When he learns that she's also writting a novel, he sees his chance to spend more time with her. Yes, he wants in her pants, but oddly, he wants to just spend time with her too. They develop a kind of friendship, but before long it develops into more. Of course his ex girlfriend won't go away. Not to mention Gabby's ex wants another chance.

Gabby was a good female lead who often let her temper get the best of her. She'd speak without thinking and then regret what she said. However her smart mouth is what attracted Drake the most. Drake is really sweet, although he tries to come across as the bad guy. He's taken with Gabby and when you learn his past you really want him to find happiness.

Overall good story told from dual POVs. And yes, it's a standalone!

"5 I WANT DRAKE STARS" This book was very intriguing and hot, sexy, captivating and I loved every moment of it. Let's begin with Gabby finally a heroine that has a backbone. She speaks her mind she's not afraid to express how she feels and her conection with Drake, was undeniable and how she isn't intimidated by how famous he is. I enjoyed her character it was very well written. Then thier is Drake oh my sexy, cocky, blunt, strong, and he will make your panties drop his character is very intriguing he was a total in your face Alpha but thier was so much more to Drake. The secondary characters where we'll written I cannot wait for more by Teresa. ARC received on behalf of bookalicious babes blog in exchange for A honest review

Something Wicked was my very first read from this VERY popular author. It was a very quick read that had a touch of mystery and intrigue, but in the end it didn't work for me on several levels. I was disappointed in the lack of chemistry between Gabby and Drake. I felt NO emotional pull towards either character at all. The female lead, Gabby, frustrated the hell out of me and Drake turned out to be one of those tortured BAD BOY anti-heroes that I couldn't fall for this time. The storyline didn't work for me either. I felt like I didn't get the whole story, or the story didn't meld together right. All in all, Something Wicked was just a bunch of sex with not so genuine I love you's stuck in the end.

I liked this book, and its the first Teresa Mummert one I've read. It has a good pull for the main female, Gabriela, because heck, she wants to be a romance writer. Join the club girl. But really, Drake is something like a Channing Tatum or Joe Manganiello movie star with a dark past, so it makes him kind of irresistible. There are a few twists and turns that make it a good read. The one thing I am left longing for was a little more at the end. I wished there was more than just a red carpet moment that leaves me wondering about a whole bunch of details. But over all it was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a hot Hollywood fantasy.

Drake Gibson has a filthy, filthy mouth, and I like it!

This is a standalone title by Teresa Mummert, however there has been some outcry for more, even if it's just a follow-up novella. There is no word out if this will become a reality or not. I am in the more camp, so my finger and toes will stay crossed in the meantime.

HEA with no cliffhanger!

Warning: SEX!
There is lots of references to sex, in the oh so good way, so those opposed should avoid.

Length: 5 hrs and 22 mins

♥ Story ♥

A potty mouth leads to true love.
That’s Awesome!

Gabriella "Gabby" Sloan wants to be a romance writer but instead works at a magazine doing celebrity pieces, which she hates. She is dating Tyler, who she doesn’t really hate, but she isn't really happy either. Tyler puts his career first, going as far as to forget their anniversary.

Drake Gibson is a Hollywood movie star at the top of his game. He is currently in a hate-hate relationship with his co-star Julia, who is over demanding and full of drama. Drake's career is all about the money, and being able to support the little family he has left, and none about happiness. It is starting to wear him thin.

Both of our main characters have a fated encounter at the premiere of Drake's new movie. Gabby's day is going all kinds of wrong, and she didn’t want to be there, but got stuck doing it. Being rudely dismissed causes her to break and let out the first thing that comes to her mind.

“I’m guessing it is because you are both assholes.”
- Gabby

Gabby is mortified, but Drake is intrigued. A party and a forgotten email attachment, leads to smexy fun!

Of course it's not going to be that easy. There are disgruntle, stubborn exes that refuse to take a hint, no matter how clear it is made. Betrayals are rampant, with one being somewhat unexpected. I read a lot of romance so certain plots are not shocking, but there is one particular betrayal that I didn't see it going THAT way.

I do agree with other reviewers that it ends too abruptly. It could of used a little more after. Lots of fans would like to see a sequel, and if not, a novella. Something to truly wrap-up the story. There was a lot of things that happen in the book, that we are left still wanting to know the outcome. I am one of those people.

This is a good listen that I feel like I can't really tell you too much without spoiling something.

I want to do a Read Along With Me for this title so its going on that list.

Teaser images are from Teresa Mummert’s Twitter Page.

♥ Author ♥

This is my first read/listen by Teresa Mummert and it was HOT!

She does dirty good!

I was turned-on, surprised, as well as appalled by her characters, which is a great combo for romantic fiction.

I would definitely listen to more titles.
Teresa has 16 titles listed on Audible.

♥ Narrator(s) ♥

Something Wicked has dual POV. Both Logan McAllister and Lacy Laurel narrate this story.

I like having a man do the voice for the alpha males, because dirty talk is so much more sexier when a guy does it. (My personal opinion)

Logan McAllister makes dirty sound HOT! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him. Logan has 55 titles listed on Audible, most of which are already in my wish list, cause, Damn he sounds good.

Lacy Laurel gives a good performance as Gabby, with the emotions and despair really coming through in her delivery. Lacy has 54 titles listed on Audible, and a lot of them look Smexy and sooo going on my wish list.

I did feel that there was a bit of a disconnect with Drake's character. His voice is done by both voice actors, so there are 2 different "Drakes". I'm not saying that either one of them were bad, it's just weird at the switch. In an ideal world, the characters would be cast like an animated movie, where the same person does the voice of X every time.

I never know what I'm going to get when I read a Teresa Mummert book. And I like it like that.
She has a unique writing style, her words are easy to digest and absorb, her characters are flawed and messed up and redeemable.

Drake is that redeemable character. You aren't sure if you're going to like him when he first shows up, but when it's all said and done, you do. You may even love him a little.

Gabby is fun, yet serious, beautiful, shy and outspoken. She's quite the contradiction. She's also one of the coolest chicks out there.

And she catches the attention of Hollywood A-lister, Drake.

Yep, it's a fun ride. You better hold on because Teresa throws twists and flips and turns that will have you all over the place.

**I listened to this book. LOVED it. I've gotten to where i typically only choose books by narrators I like and these two make that 'like' list.

My Review: *Contains Spoilers*

Our story starts off with Gabby, the wannabe writer who is working as a journalist. She seems content in her life, a little board with her relationship with Tyler, and she is not entirely certain he is being faithful to her. She has her doubts and suspicions about them from the start of where we meet Gabby. Their relationship pretty much falls apart very quickly after Drake Gibson is introduced into her life.

Gabby is assigned to interview the smoking hot Drake Gibson, famous Hollywood actor, with the attitude of an egotistical spoiled actor. Drake fits the typical stereotype of self-centered playboy that Gabby has always seen him to be. She first encounters him at a Red Carpet Premiere and pretty much puts her foot in her mouth when she is snubbed by him for an answer, and replies by calling him an asshole. Shocked that anyone could dare speak to him that way, Drake is stunned and yet very much curious about young Gabby and her hold-nothing-back attitude and smart mouth.

The cat and mouse game begins here as Gabby flees the carpet and heads home prepared to search for a new job. After pretty much calling one of the biggest names in Hollywood out on his attitude, Gabby just predicts she won’t have a job come morning. She is then surprised after her behavior, to be invited to an after party. She attends hoping there is some way to still land her interview and is brought into the world of Drake Gibson. He invites her there, unbeknownst to her, to try and figure her out. He is intrigued by her not immediately falling at his feet as he is use to with women. He likes a challenge and sees her as such.

After speaking at the party, Drake agrees to answer some of her questions so she won’t jeopardize her career, if she will send him her manuscript she has been working on. He gives her critiques via email, of wanting to see the sex in her story be hotter than she has written it. Gabby mistakenly sends him an email after revising one of the sex scenes, and she forgets to attach the revisions and just sends him an email saying, “You want hot sex?”. Drake being the flirt he is, begins an email back and forth with Gabby before proceeding to show up at her doorstep. This is the point where their relationship really takes a turn down a path neither of them anticipated.

This is a great story of Gabby and Drake’s unconventional love story, and although the turning points in the book didn’t really have me on the edge of my seat questioning if they were going to end up together in the end, there were twists in the book that just has to be read! This novel is full of betrayals that I never anticipated.

Teresa really tells their story in a way that is very original and very wicked to read. The only thing I would have loved to see more of is, some of the thoughts in Drake’s head when he kept thinking of things like, “what he really wanted to do to her” but she’s not ready and he was afraid he would scare her off. I would really have loved to read a bit more of the BDSM side of him that you can clearly see he has throughout the book. Don’t get me wrong, the sex between Gabby and Drake is still hot, smoking hot, but I wish she would have had a least a Epilogue of a scene later in their relationship once he’s gotten her use to “his ways”. I would have loved to see just how wicked he could have gotten with her. Maybe we will see a sequel to this wickedly hot book and get that some day! Until then I will just have to imagine them up in my head myself....

Gabby is a journalist trying to get out of a professional rut. So when she is assigned to cover Hollywood heartthrob Drake Gibson she knows that this isn’t the story that’s going to help, in fact she’s dreading it altogether. He’s the stereotypical alpha, abs of steel hunk and Gabby is not in a position, professionally or personally where she is willing to censor herself. She’s in a relationship with her boyfriend Tyler that is going nowhere, so when she catches the eye of Drake (after completely sticking her foot in her mouth and calling him out for the way he treats the press) she soon finds she’s out of her league with the over the top asshole alpha.

Told in a dual POV from both Drake and Gabby’s points of view,
I’m a fan of Mummert’s but unfortunately this one didn’t do it for me. It was a quick read, so quick that there wasn’t enough character development and the storyline was rushed and a bit predictable. The narrative felt awkward, and I can’t quite put my finger on why (though it could be the numerous grammatical errors). For some reason this one didn’t seem to live up to what I expect from Mummert and as such it was largely forgettable.

I am at a loss on what to say about this one. I am a HUGE Teresa Mummert fan... some might say stalker (but that might be a bit harsh lol). This book? Are you sure you wrote this one Teresa? The writing just didn't have Teresa all over it.

This book is definitely a quick read. I found myself giggling at some parts. Gabby sure does know how to embarrass herself, I will give her that.

Drake... well... I felt like he didn't know who he was. Maybe that's how his character was supposed to be? One minute he is dominate, then the next he is a mushy, broody man. I couldn't get a hold on him. His character is all over the place. I just couldn't connect.

Tyler, well... He is a prick. There is no denying that. I don't believe we are meant to really care much about him. I sure didn't.

Overall, the storyline is great. But the follow through... not so much. I just couldn't immerse myself in this one. It felt more thrown together. It definitely didn't feel like Teresa's work. If you are looking for a quick and steamy read, this is definitely something you should read, that is for sure!

I loved this!!!! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!

You could say, I read this in one sitting... LOL, I have the bags under my eyes today to prove it!!!

Drake is one of those Alpha's that have a hidden story and the more you get to know him, the more you feel for the man inside. This broken soul you just need to fix and love!!!
Gabby... I wouldn't say she was a strong woman and I wouldn't say she was totally annoying.. but she was there and she played her role well and kept you interested.

I read another review where they said that in the end it feels like there's a chapter missing... yeh, I feel you... it was just a bit blunt in the end for me... like what happened between the last chapter and the epilogue???

This story was wonderful. It features a man dealing with issues from his past and his darker nature. He deals with deception from those close to him. Gabby is a woman working a job she hates and dating a man she doesn’t love. She puts herself out on a limb and is left hanging. They both learn that life is full of trials and tests.
The storyline was great and the writing was incredible. There is quite a bit of steamy action in these pages. These characters had amazing chemistry. They were both very relatable and easy to fall in love with.
Another homerun for Teresa Mummert!

Yes. There it is again. The reason I ADORE Teresa Mummert. The woman has lady balls. She writes what she wants and to hell with the naysayers. I like her style, her characters, her words. Something Wicked is filled with heat, a strong female lead and a cocky, hot male who doesn't give a d*mn what people say. Really, how could you go wrong?

Good character development, a quick moving plot, and plenty of sexiness make this a perfect book to grab for the beach. Keep the awesome books coming, Teresa!

A fine libro mi son detta "I REALLY NEED MORE OF THEM!!"

Ne vorrei di più su questi due! Meritano molto come coppia e qui è solo un inizio per me. Potrebbe veramente esserci un seguito con più potenza, più pathos, più storia... più di tutto insomma!
