Motocross Me, starts off with Hana on the road after a fight with her mom and not sure where to go next. She ends up in the town of Mixon at her dad's house hoping that she isn't intruding on his new family. But as it turns out they're thrilled to see her and invite her to spend the summer and even work with her dad at the Motocross Park- the dirt bike track. Not wanting to deal with her irresponsible mother and her new fiance, she accepts.
Hana remembers the track from when she was younger but she had no clue of the booming success it's been since then. She's surrounded by hard work, hot days and even hotter guys, two who are veering for her attention. For the first time in a long time, Hana feels like she found a real family. The Motocross family, but when she accidentally helps one of the competitors cheat on the biggest race of the season, Hana fears that she may have lost everything that she never knew she cared about, till it was already to late.
Wow, what a fun read! The minute I heard about this book I knew I wanted to read it. My hubby has always been into...well, anything with a motor in it, so I figured since I'm very familiar with racing and the mechanics of it all, what better way to spend a lazy afternoon then reading something I knew about with a promise of some romance thrown in. I couldn't have been more pleased. Motocross Me turned out to be a delightful summer escape.
I really fell in love with Cheyanne Young's writing. It's strong and confident and the flow and pace was perfect. I was instantly drawn into this book from the first sentence till the very last. This is the kind of story-line that is right up my alley. I've always enjoyed sport themes in my reads and dirt bike racing can get pretty extreme. I loved how Young goes into vivid details about the bikes and the races and rules of it all. Not only did I find myself understanding everything, I also found myself nodding along in agreement. But the sports is just one part of the story, we also have some family issues and some romance complications that made the plot sizzle with entertainment and excitement.
I was amazed how fast I felt connected to all these characters. They were all well developed and I enjoyed the parts they played. Hana's dad, Jim, her step-mom, Molly and her step-brother, Teig are all solid to the ground good people. They believe in their dreams, hard work and are a fair family who support each other.
~Hana is a wonderfully flawed character who makes real mistakes. There were a few times I wanted to shake her straight, but for the most part I liked her honest voice and the fact that she at least tries. She's had a hard go of it since her parents divorce and her mother hasn't been the best role model, but with her dad and Molly and Teig and her new friends, she finally feels like she belongs. Positive energy truly goes a long way. Then we have the guys, Ryan and Ash. Hana may not be very smart when it comes to relationships but these boys even had me spinning a few times.
~Ryan Russo is the best dirt bike racer and his cool blue eyes, washboard-abs and killer smile makes him an easy can't-breath-gorgeous catch that all the girls fall far. Hana included.
~Then we have Ash Carter. Ash sports long dread-locked hair and makes grunge look sexy. He's Ryan's only competition and an old history between them makes them natural enemies.
Both guys may be gorgeous, but it's not very hard to figure out which is the better man. One is a total jerk and uses Hana while the other is a real sweetheart. I'm not gonna say which is which or who Hana ends up with, but I will say that the ending made me smile that stupid happy grin.
All in all, this book really impressed me. The writing is great, the characters are heart felt and real and the story line is exciting and fun. This has a great lesson when it comes to the heart and also has a wonderful sense of family unity, new found friendships, acceptance and self discovery. A great summer escape and a fabulous debut! Young has a new fan!

So, I enjoyed Motocross Me far more than I ever expected to! Which isn't bad for someone who hated being dragged across the country to her brother's various motocross races. But, Motocross Me is such an adorable, and frankly quite interesting, read that I couldn't help but enjoy it. It's such a quick, easy read and I just raced through it.
Motocross Me is set at Mixon Motocross Track so, obviously, perfect for a book about motocross. But, I loved that Hana didn't enjoy being at the track, to begin with - I related so much to this. And the story is described so perfectly, that even though I went to motocross in the UK, I recognised so many different aspects of the racing. In a weird way, it brought back memories.
I really liked the characters too. I did think Hana was a bit of an airhead to start with. But she grew on me and I just really liked her by the end. I loved that she's very family-orientated and is happy-ish to pull her weight at the track.
Ash was also a brilliant character. He is just so nice and easy-going, even when he's being serious. He treats Hana with respect which is the complete opposite of Ryan. Ryan is just simply a self-centred a**hole.
Motocross Me is told from Hana's perspective and, as she has only just moved back to the track, I found this a great way of explaining the rules of motocross simply (as well as telling her story). It was a bit like Hana kept jogging her own memory.
Hana's story is fairly predictable, but it was also a fun and adorable read. The pacing was just right too, especially during the excitement during the races (which is probably pretty difficult to get right). And because there is racing involved, I found plenty of little twists and turns along the way. But the story ties up very nicely in the end and the ending was just too perfect for words.
However, I did notice some continuity errors throughout the story. More noticeably, Teig's age. At one point, he is 13-years-old and then later this changes to 9, so I wasn't really sure if he was acting right for his age.
Motocross Me was a very good read. I just couldn't put it down and it really was a bit of a blast from the past with my own motocross experience. Motocross Me shows that you can hate motocross when growing up, yet still enjoy a book about motocross (haha!). I would definitely recommend Motocross Me to fans of sporty contemporary YA reads.

He’s tall with shaggy blond hair and muscular arms. He’s holding a twenty-dollar bill. He’s muscular. And he’s holding a twenty--wait, I already said that.
Motocross Me couldn’t have been released at a better time--it is cute, funny, and has competition and romance—it’s the perfect summer read. I’ve been looking for something a little different lately, and Motocross Me fit the bill. Let’s go over a few reasons for this, shall we?
1. Hot guys?
Check.
2. Interesting, not overused setting?
Check.
3. MC who works her butt off and learns to appreciate said work?
Check check.
(Of course, parental angst, new friends, boy problems, and a whole lot of other stuff is also mixed into this book’s formula, but why give everything away?)
You know how, a lot of times, summer changes things and exposes you to new people and new experiences? That’s what Motocross Me is about. Hana gains a few new relationships whilst on her summer job. She also ends up seeing a few people she’s known for a long time in totally different light. This not only helps her make new, more mature decisions, but, in the end, also helps her learn from her mistakes.
From a storyline point of view, I enjoyed mostly everything, aside from wanting to knock some sense into Hana on occasion. At first, this started to get to me. Uh, HELLO! I wanted to yell. Make a decision, Hana!!! (Of course, I knew who I would choose—Ash. Duh.) But then I had to remember that this *is* YA, and YA has teenage protagonists, and this is the time in life where decisions are most made based on learning from your experiences and what you’ve been taught to expect. Once you look at it in that aspect, Hana’s indecisiveness makes a whole lot more sense.
I also really appreciated learning the ins and outs of a motocross track. Nothing was told in a way that became boring or overly factual, and at times I actually found myself wanting to find a race to watch on TV so I could see what was being explained! (Yes, I do feel a little bit smarter now!)
I leave you with one last quote that made me laugh:
"Anytime.” I snicker and he shakes his head at me, smiling as he drives away. I wipe my forehead and press the talk button on my walkie-talkie. “Molly, tell Shelby her brother is a dork. Over.”

Hana couldn't believe her luck after she ran away from her mother and stumbled across her father's motocross track at Nixon. She got two riders wanting her attention. Whose side are you on? Are you on Team Ash or Team Ryan?

I'm not a fan of men with dreadlocks. But who can not love Ash? He got me the moment he graciously accepted Hana's rejection - it's what gentlemen do, right?
I love how humble he is although he's one of the fastest in Nixon, how he adores and cares for his family, his passion for his sport is also admirable. He believed in his abilities and himself, without conceit. I like his confidence in winning the nationals- it wasn't eve showing off. Here is a man who knows his limitations and who knows what he is capable of.
Ash is a total gentleman - truly. And there are only a few men who do not rush love and relationship. Now if Hana could not appreciate his "lack of actions" - totally her loss.

I just knew it!
I have this eerie feeling about Ryan the first time he appeared on the pages.
Ryan is the type of guy every girl has been lusting for. He's the motocross champ, he's hot and he knew what he is capable of and he's not afraid to flaunt it. He's aggressive and would not settle for anything less. He's willing to do anything to win.
Have you ever felt you wanted to bump a friend's head because she's blinded by someone's look that they couldn't see through the faults?
Oookaaaay - she's a teenager and is having a major crush on the rider with the smoothest move. It could be excusable. But Ryan - despite the hotness - is also arrogant and over confident. His passion for winning is not driven by his love for sport anymore. Instead, it's motivated by anger and unhealthy competition.
Ash is not making any moves at all. Hana wonders if he really likes her or was it just her imagination? Ryan, on the other hand is making his - and it seems fast that kinda overwhelms her senses. she's torn between two motocross gods. Can she chose wisely and give her heart to someone who's worth and won't break it?
Hana's relationship with her mom wasn't perfect and when she left home and surprised her dad, she didn't realized she'd grown to love the tracks as well as her step mom. I love Molly - she's not your cliche evil-step-mother. Instead, here's a woman who knows how to take care of her man and family, who has a big and generous heart and has a sunny disposition. Hana didn't know how to deal with her at first, but because Molly tries, and she's almost perfect - Molly found a way to Hana's heart. (Yep, more than just those mouth-watering burritos)
I also love the fund raising they did when someone close to the family needed help. The event showed how the motocross as a community and as a family. Everyone came together, and supported the activity - regardless on which team, which tracks are they on.
The anticipation of the 'kiss' will kill you and you'll be wondering if its ever going to happen or all these will come to nothing.
I love Motocross Me because of the characters - I may not like some of them, but they're real. yes, these type of people really exists. I love the secondary characters such as Teig, Shelby, Shawn and even Hana's mom (which I like surprisingly at the near-end of the story).
One of my favorite scenes was the National's. I rarely witness a motocross competition even in TV, but reading that scene puts you in the tracks with Hana. Anticipating. The description were to vivid that you can almost hear the sounds of bikes and cheers coming out of the pages.
Motocross, hot riders, awesome plot, great characters, highly anticipated make-out session - yes, I enjoyed reading Motocross Me and I'm sure you will too! :)

Ok, who remembers that movie on Disney Channel about motocross? Motocrossed? I loved that movie. So, when I read the summary of this book I had to be a part of the tour. I really enjoyed this book. I loved learning more about motocross and I think it had some really great lessons to go along with it. This is a young adult novel and there is definitely some teen drama involved.
The story is about Hana, a girl who escapes to her dad's for the summer as she is fighting with her mother. Hana's dad owns a motocross track and Hana instantly gets swept up into the motocross world. She helps work at the track where she meets the gorgeous Ryan, who she easily develops a crush on. Ryan was not very likeable for me and I was suspicious of his intentions the whole way through. He is confident, cocky, and flirtatious. I never once felt he really liked Hana- I felt like he was using her for some higher purpose. She also meets Shelby and her twin brother Ash, who is also a motocross racer. Ash is nice, kind, and just an overall good guy. He likes Hana, but unfortunately she is too busy mooning over Ryan to really take notice. She does find him attractive though (even with the dreads!). Shelby and Hana end up becoming good friends, which was exactly what Hana needed. She had someone to gossip with about guys and share clothes with and Shelby, who wasn't exactly a tomboy, is a motocross kid, but hanging out with Hana really excited her and brought her out of her shell.
So Ryan or Ash? Well, that's easy. Ash! He's a good kid, he's a gentleman, doesn't care about how Hana dresses or how much make up she wears, and he is just a genuine guy.
I liked Hana well enough- but I did find her to be self-absorbed at points. (She's a high school girl! Most high school kids are quite egocentric.) She would tend to zone in on certain things, not paying the least bit of attention to outside factors going on around her. She did flip flop a bit between boys which irritated me, because I really felt like she had her decision made. She just wasn't getting the reception she needed from the one she wanted, which made her question things.
I thought the pacing in this story went extremely well- I didn't reach that point where I was turning pages to just get to more action. I think Cheyanne did a great job of keeping the reader engaged. The world of motocross is just so neat and interesting so I couldn't help but get excited when Hana was spending time at the track.
This story shows Hana that sometimes the thing you think you want the most is the one thing you need the least. She learns that people can be manipulative to get what they want, but she also learns that the best people don't have to come from money and that appearances don't matter. It's what's inside that counts.
My one hang up? I needed more kissing. :)
This is a cute summer read and I would recommend if you're looking for something light and fun.

Ok, who remembers that movie on Disney Channel about motocross? Motocrossed? I loved that movie. So, when I read the summary of this book I had to be a part of the tour. I really enjoyed this book. I loved learning more about motocross and I think it had some really great lessons to go along with it. This is a young adult novel and there is definitely some teen drama involved.
The story is about Hana, a girl who escapes to her dad's for the summer as she is fighting with her mother. Hana's dad owns a motocross track and Hana instantly gets swept up into the motocross world. She helps work at the track where she meets the gorgeous Ryan, who she easily develops a crush on. Ryan was not very likeable for me and I was suspicious of his intentions the whole way through. He is confident, cocky, and flirtatious. I never once felt he really liked Hana- I felt like he was using her for some higher purpose. She also meets Shelby and her twin brother Ash, who is also a motocross racer. Ash is nice, kind, and just an overall good guy. He likes Hana, but unfortunately she is too busy mooning over Ryan to really take notice. She does find him attractive though (even with the dreads!). Shelby and Hana end up becoming good friends, which was exactly what Hana needed. She had someone to gossip with about guys and share clothes with and Shelby, who wasn't exactly a tomboy, is a motocross kid, but hanging out with Hana really excited her and brought her out of her shell.
So Ryan or Ash? Well, that's easy. Ash! He's a good kid, he's a gentleman, doesn't care about how Hana dresses or how much make up she wears, and he is just a genuine guy.
I liked Hana well enough- but I did find her to be self-absorbed at points. (She's a high school girl! Most high school kids are quite egocentric.) She would tend to zone in on certain things, not paying the least bit of attention to outside factors going on around her. She did flip flop a bit between boys which irritated me, because I really felt like she had her decision made. She just wasn't getting the reception she needed from the one she wanted, which made her question things.
I thought the pacing in this story went extremely well- I didn't reach that point where I was turning pages to just get to more action. I think Cheyanne did a great job of keeping the reader engaged. The world of motocross is just so neat and interesting so I couldn't help but get excited when Hana was spending time at the track.
This story shows Hana that sometimes the thing you think you want the most is the one thing you need the least. She learns that people can be manipulative to get what they want, but she also learns that the best people don't have to come from money and that appearances don't matter. It's what's inside that counts.
My one hang up? I needed more kissing. :)
This is a cute summer read and I would recommend if you're looking for something light and fun.

You should read this book like now.
What an adorable book to kick start the month! I had a really good laugh at those silly monologues and ridiculous advances by Hana. This book brings loads of memories from my younger teenage years and it really reflects the typical yet amusing behaviour of a girl in love.
A pretty cute scene among Hana, Molly(Hana's stepmother) and Shelby(Hana's friend) when they were donning themselves up!
“What is wrong with us?” I demand. “Molly, you look hot. And Shelby you are always hot.” I glance in the mirror for emphasis. “And I’m hot. So let’s all just shut up and enjoy the night.”
This definitely caught me like an ignorant little girl. Can you please tell me which type of girl is so straightforward to the point of demanding a kiss?!
“You should kiss me.”
I cant emphasise how much Hana gets me into peals of laughter! Then there's this one too.
“His armpit smells sexy, like some sporty deodorant for athletes. Funny how even armpit smells make my heart tingle when they come from Ash”
In fact she riles up all the emotions in me, angst, jealousy, annoyance and many more! Sometimes, I just felt like jumping into the book, give her knock on the head and tell her her Prince Charming.
“Can you just forget about him and give me a chance?”
Anyway, I really love this book and it's a pretty quick read if you want to get away from all those darker themes books. Just one thing that prevented me from hitting 5 stars was the ending! Yes, it was a you and I both happy kind of ending but I just didnt feel that it was enough! It would have been better if it could be elaborated on! This was another book that I wasn't quite sure what to expect going in, but I was hooked by the blurb. I gotta say, I really liked it.I thought it was cool that Cheyanne featured different kinds of families and that for once, the stepmom was awesome! I found myself really attached to the characters...at least most of them because there are two major characters that are just horrible. Not that it's bad writing, but just they are awful as people and I wanted to punch them.
Who did I not want to punch? Ash, of course. That boy was so amazing! I admit, there was some major stomach-butterflies and swoonage going on during various Ash-and-Hana scenes. Shelby was fantastic. I really liked Hana having such a strong friend around. They're complete opposites in most ways so I enjoyed the difference between them. Jim (Hana's dad), Molly, and Tieg were all completely awesome. Never was Hana treated like the troubled Other Child, even when she made mistakes.
I liked Hana too, but sometimes I just wanted to shake her and tell her that boys don't act like Ash if they don't like you and they don't act like Ryan if they do like you. The whole scene at the lake made me cringe because I could see this trainwreck of a date going steadily downhill and then BAM! *facepalm* WHY, HANA, WHY?!
Motocross Me gave a pretty good look at people's motivations to do things, particularly organized amateur/professional sports and how they react to any modicum of fame. I thought it was also a pretty normal view of how teenage girls think and react to cute boys when they show interest. I think it's a fantastic quick summer read that'll have you wanting to find a local motocross track just so you can see what the fuss is all about.

I have been around motocross for a good part of my life, and this book made me want to sit in the miserable heat and be around all that dirt, well it made me want to be a flagger at a race, it made me want to dress in cute shorts and prance around the track that is so close to my house I can sit on my porch and hear the bikes, to go look at all those cute guys in rider pants and boots and no shirts!!! It made me miss the track, thank you for making me remember all the fun things about all the tracks that I may have forgotten over the last 2 years...I loved this book, I loved the writing, I loved remembering about the motocross family, I just loved this book!!!!!

This is one of the few books that had a character that pissed me off so much I couldn't enjoy the rest of the book. Hana is shallow, immature and a bit of a mean girl and that does not work for me. Her attitude is just not very consistent. And I also got a tad confused about her brother - at one point he's 13 and then he's somewhere around 9 (or maybe I read it wrong?)

I loved this book! I ride motocross myself and this story was so right for me! its a really good book for anyone to read, and as I would know, its so true as well! great book, loved it!

I don't know if I just missed it or my dirty mind working (the title... never mind) or that because it's all I read recently but I thought this was a contemporary NA novel. So I was pretty shocked to know it's actually YA! What a breath of fresh air. And so, I gobbled this up continuously, only stopping to sleep. Sigh, YA is still my haven. So yes, this is a 100% clean YA romance and a cute and breezy one at that!
After a fight with her mom, Hana drives four hours to Mixon, Texas to stay with his father and his new family indefinitely. It is so refreshing to see a teenager with divorced parents who isn't rebelling or angsting over the divorce. Sure, Hana and her mom don't really go along well but it's so nice to see how Hana fits right in with her stepmom Molly and stepbrother Teig. How she has a family where you would expect her not to have one. Even though Hana is the daughter of the owner of the most popular motocross track in Texas, she doesn't have a clue about the sport. That changes as she works in Mixon Motocross Park, learning the ropes of managing races and the game terminology as well. There she meets two of the best racers in Mixon, the confident blonde Ryan Russo and the shy dreadlocked Ash Carter. Both boys like her and she likes them both. What's a girl gotta do? (What's a girl gotta do to be Hana and be surrounded by all these bike-racing guys?)
I enjoyed reading Motocross Me so much. Hana's voice was not overly hilarious but she's funny and witty in her own way. I also like how much of a teen she is. Sure, she's shallow at times and I just want to grab her and turn her around to intercept her bad decisions but hey, you're not a teenager if you don't screw up! Where some YA heroines sound too mature for their age, she's just so real and right. Who doesn't make the extra effort to dress up for a crush? Who doesn't hate waking up early? Even though Hana is privileged and is so clueless about motocross and a lot of stuff, you won't hate her. I do cringe whenever she thinks or does something wrong but it's part of her charm. She did grow in the span of the novel and I appreciate how much she wants to pay for her mistakes.
I love the family Hana has in Mixon. Her Dad is one of the most understanding people ever and is so passionate about motocross. He's also kind-hearted and the same is with her wife, Molly. Molly's a great cook and has been a better mother to Hana than her actual mom who spends most of her time with boyfriends half her age and marries off again and again. Teig, her stepbrother, is also so cute and sweet, even winning a race and giving his trophy to her. Hana never felt like an outsider to her dad's new family and I adore this fact a lot. Having read much of new adult recently where no family seems to work out, I just appreciate their family maybe more than I probably should.
Aside from meeting the two boys, Hana finds a best friend in Shelby, Ash's twin. Shelby is as passionate about motocross as her twin and she schools Hana. She's an admirable listener and she didn't drop Hana in the gutter when she (accidentally) helps Ryan cheat out of the biggest amateur race, the Nationals. And now, let's get to the boys.
Ryan, simply, is a royal jerk. She gives Hana the time of the day when he needs something from her, hence, her ending up helping him cheat at a race. Ash, simply, is a gentleman. He doesn't even dare kiss Hana because he's waiting for the "perfect time". He's also a Christian, a great brother and a great son. Pretty much what you won't expect if you're prejudiced to think that guys in dreadlocks sell drugs. Ryan is smooth but he's insincere. Ash is shy but he's a good person. Needless to say, I'm on Team Ash! I know I swoon a lot about fictional guys in books but hey, I'm a teenager! I'm a girl!
I think motocross in sports-themed YA isn't common so I like how Cheyanne delved into this world even though I'm not sure if there's a large market for it. So for all those doubting whether to read it or not because you don't know a thing about motocross, trust me, you don't need to have a clue! Hana doesn't have a clue and by the end, she's versed in motocross. Like me. I didn't really know much except that racers drive a bike and there are lots of dirt and that's it. But knowing nothing did not reduce my enjoyment of this novel. With an endearing heroine, a shy dreadlocked gentleman of a racer and a clean yet swoony romance, Motocross Me is a cute and breezy contemporary YA read perfect for summer reading. All sports YA fans, check this out! All contemporary YA fans, definitely check this out. I recommend Motocross Me for a fun and light read!

This. Book. Is. Adorable. It is such a fun read that I’m sorry I didn’t read it sooner.
This is the story of Hana Fisher and her life after she moves to a small Texas town after leaving the big city. Hana is very upset with her mother’s upcoming fifth marriage so she chooses to live with her dad and step family in Mixon, Texas. Hana’s father owns the town’s local dirt bike track and knows that she will be forced to work at this boring place all summer. What Hana does not realize is that the track is actually grown into something that is respected all over the state. Riders from everywhere love this track. By association, Hana is now one of the most popular girls in the town. Things are looking up for Hana as she now has a job that she really enjoys, a family that is good to her, a best friend, and maybe even a boyfriend. Things take a turn for the worse quickly when Hana abuses her power at the track to help a rider cheat for the big race. How will Hana recover from this mistake? Will she be able to recover from this and still keep everything good in her life?
I love, love, love stories that deal with small town life. I am grew up in the text book definition of a small town so I tend to hold those books to a higher standard. I am happy to report here that this book did an amazing job of portraying life in a super small country town.
I also respect Young for giving the MC a step-family that was actually amazing and loving. Seriously! Most of the time, step families or members of step familys are portrayed to be hideous ogres that are terrible people. Not here! The step mom was actually very loving and supportive. She was willing to listen to Hana’s problems and was concerned. That rarely happens so it was really great to read a story in which they are portrayed in such a positive light.
The thoughts and emotions that go through your head when you stay in a small town are so intense. Young really did a good job of portraying those in this book. She also did a great job with the characters. Hana did have her moments where I wanted to slap her, but she is a high school girl and they can be egocentric at times. I was irritated at how she would tend to zone out on things that really mattered yet pay attention to the things that didn’t matter. But again – high school girl. One thing that made me crazy was how quickly she would bounce back and forth between the two boys in the story: Ash and Ryan. It felt as if they were just a game to her and she could toy with them. Let’s discuss Ash and Ryan. Ash first. He really knows how to pull on the heart strings. He really is the overall nice, kind, good guy. He is concerned for others and wants to be good. I admire that. Then we have Ryan, typical handsome, cool boy that knows he is handsome and cool. Therefore he comes off cocky and you want to punch his lights out. You know he’s trouble with a capital “T” and you avoid him. Hana doesn’t. She thinks he is dreamy and persues him when she knows that he is just a player. The other character that was amazing was Shelby, Ash’s twin sister. When she became Hana’s new best friend, I smiled. Shelby is so sweet, honest, and real, it felt like a breath of fresh air in this story. Hana finally had someone to do girl things with and that is always important. Authors need to include more aspects of friendship in their stories, it is needed topic.
I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure I would be able to jive with the motorcross side of this story as that is not a known topic to me, but I’m here to assure you that it works. Young did an amazing job of explaining the motorcross sport and everything involved in a way that didn’t feel like an info dump. It was a fun way to learn about the sport and be excited when motorcross races happened. I did not find myself bored with any part of this story. I felt engaged the entire time and that doesn’t happen a lot.
I’m not sure I can say enough good things about this book! It is a quick read, but it’s a fun read. I really hope everyone gives this book a chance!

This was a pretty cute book. I honestly only picked it up because I love motocross and I have read Cheyanne Young’s books before and enjoyed them. I could have done without the amount of teenage problems but I’m well aware I’m not the targeted audience for this book so I’m not letting that affect my rating.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book right from the beginning to the end. Have you ever met two boys in your life where your head tells you to be with the handsome rich bad boy but your heart is telling you to pick the unique cute poor boy. But you keep going back to the bad boy when you know you have a future with the unique cute poor boy.
Well that is what happens with Hana the main character in this book. Hanna ends up having a fight with her mother because her mother is getting married for like the third time again. So they end up fighting and she decides to drive hours to her dads house where she hasn't been in years. She ends up showing up in the middle of the night and she sees her dad and her step mother. But they both take her in and hug her wondering what happened. Hana dad is doing all the work at the Motocross track because he owns it so her step mother suggest that Hana work there during the summer. Well she gets up early in the morning to start working and she ends up having to check in bikers that are going to come and practice to get ready for the race coming up on the weekend. When she lays eyes on Ryan the bad boy handsome man she falls head of heels in love with him. Then all of a sudden she meets this other cute unique guy with dreads named Ash. She doesn't see herself falling in love with him because he has dreads. I want to keep telling you guys more but I can't. Because you need to read this book for yourself. Every page has great detail and was written so well. I felt like I was hanging out with Hana through the whole book from the beginning to the end. I loved this book and I would read another one by this author. I really hopes she writes a sequel to this book because I would read it in a second. I would love to see what happens to the characters in this story. If she doesn't write another one I will just remember the ending of the book and make up the story myself in my own mind. Don't you love it when you read a book that just sticks with you through your whole life that you can relate to and just want to tell your girlfriend about after you are done reading it. Well this is the book. Go read it....
Well that is what happens with Hana the main character in this book. Hanna ends up having a fight with her mother because her mother is getting married for like the third time again. So they end up fighting and she decides to drive hours to her dads house where she hasn't been in years. She ends up showing up in the middle of the night and she sees her dad and her step mother. But they both take her in and hug her wondering what happened. Hana dad is doing all the work at the Motocross track because he owns it so her step mother suggest that Hana work there during the summer. Well she gets up early in the morning to start working and she ends up having to check in bikers that are going to come and practice to get ready for the race coming up on the weekend. When she lays eyes on Ryan the bad boy handsome man she falls head of heels in love with him. Then all of a sudden she meets this other cute unique guy with dreads named Ash. She doesn't see herself falling in love with him because he has dreads. The Setting - This has to be one of my favorite settings in a book ever! I love motocross (in the past I raced bmx which is bicycle motocross, so being at a track and in this atmosphere is second nature to me.) When I saw the title for this book, I knew immediately I would have to read it. I thank Cheyanne Young for bringing this setting into the beautiful pages of a book. For those that are afraid that they may not be able to follow this story because of the setting don't fear, the main character Hana doesn't know much about the sport either so you will learn with her.
My Outlook - While I loved the atmosphere, I wasn't ecstatic about the plot. It was entertaining, and I enjoyed this novel, but I found myself face palming often about some of the poor choices Hana made as she is torn between two boys. I can understand her dilemma when presented with two gorgeous but very different men. I still would have liked if she could have seen past some of the superficial glamour and dug a little deeper. Hana became much better and less face palm worthy towards the halfway point (I said less not completely done face palming here.) Basically, I considered Hana like my misguided love struck friend, who needs heavy guidance about what is truly important in life.
Hana has a rough past with her mother. She has been sheltered her whole life, so the whole dating world is kind of foreign to her when her only example has been her mom who is on her fifth husband whose half her age. Hana can't take her mothers behavior any longer and moves in with her dad, and this is where her healthy dose of reality is served (in the form of delicious breakfast burritos.) I loved her stepmother Molly, her father, and her little brother Teig (even if I am not completely confident in how I pronounce his name. Teeg? Maybe?)
Lastly, I love Ash. While he may be quiet, and needs quite a few kick-starts to get him into gear he is lovable and so are the images I have of him in my head. Yum... Anyways, while at some points Hana made me want to rip out my hair, I loved the setting Young brought us in. It is a completely new perspective in YA that I think is very much needed. I wish there would have been more description as the events played out, because I want more. More Ash, and motocross. I would like to know more about her family life after the Nationals race as well. So...if Cheyanne ever decides to write a sequel I will definitely be pouncing on that like a wolf on raw meat. Basically to conclude, Ash has my heart, and you will have to read and find out if he has Hana's as well!

I was a little nervous about reading this book. It was the first time I actually knew the author before reading the story; Cheyanne is a good friend of one of my friends- Seriously, what if I didn't like the book? I am so glad I ended up loving Motocross Me! It's a unique and realistic young love story. Perfect summer read! I think the premise would make a great plot for a TV show. I know, I would watch it for Ash alone.
Hana Fisher has had it up to here with her mom's drama - so, she packs up and moves to her dad's house. Hana hasn't seen her dad in a few years and what she finds back in Mixon is not at all what she expected. Her father is making a name for himself - he is remarried, he has a very nice house and his old dirt pile is an up and coming motocross race track.
Hana takes a job at the track to make some spending money - it is there that she meets Ryan and Ash. She is instantly attracted to Ryan and Ryan seems to be into her as well. But then one minute he is flirting and the next he doesn't call her for a week. Ash on the other hand is very down to earth and friends with her family. Ash has a twin sister, Shelby; she quickly becomes BFF's with Hana. Hana enjoys spending time with Shelby and Ash...and it seems like there could be something more with Ash- but, just when they start getting close, he pushes her away.
Hana is torn between the two boys - she knows which one is the better choice, but the other one seems to want her. During a date with Ryan, Hana accidentally lets slip a secret about the big race - a secret that would let Ryan win. Hana tries to right her wrong, but Ash won't listen. This secret could cost Hana everything she has come to love.
Motocross Me does have a few common indie published book issues - some wording that had me confused and some scenes that seem to drag on - but all in all it was a great book. I really loved the stepmom's character. She seemed to really ground Hana and give her the "family" she needed. And then... there is Ash, he is basically the boy next door, loves his family. The perfect book boyfriend. If you are looking for a fun pool/beach read with a great book boyfriend- pick up Motocross Me.

At first when I started reading this the protagonist, annoyed me, Hana was Immature, Selfish and Materialistic, But then what teenager isn’t. We meet Hanna while she is running away from her mother and her new boyfriend to live with her father, stepmother and their son. Hana’s father owns a Motocross park, which Hanna quickly starts working at. Through her Job she meets new friends and love Interests. Ryan is sexy, rich, smooth and a great motocross rider, I instantly disliked Ryan I found him to be selfish and stuck up, which of course being a teenage girl, Hana Instantly falls for. Hanna also meets Ryan’s rival and enemy Ash, Ash is awkward, sweet, good-looking and comes from a struggling background. He has a crush on Hana, but of course Hana wants the more exciting Ryan. This gives a good foundation for a angst filled, teenage coming of age story.
Motocross Me had me laughing , yelling in rage and even crying, I loved every second of it. As I said at the start of this review I did not like Hanna at first, but as the story progressed a different side of Hana came out she became stronger, more responsible and less selfish as she grew up in the few weeks this story covers.
The only problem I had with this story, is that I felt the ending was too abrupt, without giving any spoilers away I think some things were forgiven a little too easily.
Overall I loved this story and I am looking forward to what Cheyanne comes up with next.

I liked the first 30% of it but the rest was kind of 'meh'.
I wanted something cute, fan, romantic.. but this story was in fact a bit silly.
The MC is too shallow for my taste, she only cares about appearances, and she is really easy to fool.
The guys she is interested in - I wouldn't like either of them - one is a perfect ass (using her) and the other one is .. a perfect idiot (ignoring her).
This is probably a good story for teens, but sometimes I get easily bored by teen drama. And that's all there is to this story.
1.5 stars.

When i first read the description of the book Motocross Me by Cheyanne Young, I knew it would be a perfect book for me. When I finally got my hands on it, I was right about how great the story actually was. Not only did I learn about motocross as a sport, but I learned that everyone makes mistakes every now and then and life is about trial and error. This book also shed light on the fact that, even if a boy has the perfect looks, his personality may not be as perfect, and in the end it’s the inside that matters. Cheyanne Young did an amazing job with the storyline and I can honestly say that I was never bored while reading this book. As I turned each page, I grew a love for the many characters and I did not want their stories to end. However, the ending was written beautifully and was the type to make the reader happy with the outcome for all the characters in the book. Kudos to Cheyanne for all the hard work that was put into writing this amazing book because it made Motocross Me one of my many favorites. I look forward to reading any and all future works written by Cheyanne Young because I know that she won’t disappoint me when she writes another amazing story.

Motocross Me was simply wonderful! I really enjoyed the storyline. Even though I'm not a fan of dreadlocks Ash still stole my heart with his blue eyed yummy goodness! I love how he is towards Hana. Even though Hana is oblivious sometimes with his feelings towards her she still realizes he's the best for her in the end! A must read for YA book lovers!

I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't connect with Hana and thereby the rest of the story. She seemed too shallow and young to me, and everyone else felt forced and somewhat fake. The writing also came off as stilted, maybe because it was written in present-tense. And in the end, not even the description of the overly "muscular and hot" Ryan peaked my interest enough to keep me reading. Overall: disappointed.

I really enjoyed this YA book. It has all the elements that a YA book should have: a likeable main character, good dialogue that kept me engaged throughout the entire story, and of course, a love interest :) Plus the MC got to learn something at the end of her journey in Motocross Me. It's a great summer read and I recommend it to lovers of young adult fiction.

I really enjoyed this story. I grew up going to a motocross track almost every summer weekend. it was a lot of fun and having family who raced made it worth going. (Not to mention the good-looking racers that showed up to the track as well.)
I liked how Hana changed throughout the story and I just adored Shelby(and Ash). It was well written with only a few little missing words here and there.

Wasn't sure about reading this as its for a younger reader but did motocross myself as a teenager and needed a light hearted read. Really enjoyed it.
