Olivia Banning came to London to solve one mystery, and stumbled upon another quite by accident. Unfortunately her plans are disrupted when the notoriously rakish Earl of Dugdale catches her investigating—in his bedchamber.
And Ended Up the Talk of the Ton
Andrew Terwillger, the Earl of Dugdale, scoffs at Olivia's tales of things that go bump in the night, although her beauty and courage are tempting. When they're caught in a kiss, neither he nor she wants the marriage Society demands. But marry they must, despite their misgivings. And as soon as they say "I do," increasingly strange and mysterious things start to happen...

Amelia likes flowers, candlelight, sweet smiles, gentle laughter and sunshine.
The final book in a series, by an author I quite enjoy. I think it would have been more enjoyable if I had read it closer to the rest of the series. To be honest I don't know how I missed it... With that said, I enjoyed the characters, a dash of mystery and a Ghost!
What the hell?
Lalu teka teki hantu itupun penyelesaiannya menggelikan. Pendeknya aku kurang menikmati novel yang satu ini.
The last of the bachelors known as the Terrible Threesomes, Andrew Terwillger, the Earl of Dugdale, has no intention of falling into the parson’s mousetrap. Returning to London after months of overseeing his country estate, he is ready for carousing. He first sees Olivia Banning in the receiving line at his party. He next time he sees her, he catches her in his room. He liked her when he first saw her and now he kisses her. As he is holding and kissing her, his door opens and his aunt, her aunt, and one of the loudest gossipers in London see them. He knows what he must do. He is determined to continue his wild ways but Olivia is determined that he will not ignore her.
Olivia is determined not to be like her mother who married well and then her husband dumped her in the country. She tells Andrew this and he is surprised and then finds he likes her by his side.
Honestly.... It's not that great. I needed to skim not only the sex scenes but also any time the two leads talked to each other because their dialogue was very awkward. The set up was fun but the miscommunication plot lacked focus and the ending felt rushed and out of place. It was entertaining enough that I read the whole thing but it really isn't worth a read and I probably won't go back for the others in the series.

He definitely made some mistakes in his journey that brought me pain, but I'm glad he came to believe and love her. It was fun trying to figure out the mystery behind the attacks while watching love grow.
I loved this book! How refreshing to find a character who did not want to marry a duke. Olivia was self assured and managed to be a thoroughly likable character the entire book. Her strong will and open heart endeared me to her instantly. Andrew our MC took a while to warm up to but I felt that the end result was that much better for it. There is tremendous character growth from beginning to end and our plot line was entertaining. I will be reading more from this author in the future. I want to commend Amelia Grey for making such a likable character and have not enjoyed one as much since I read Zoe Lexham's character in Loretta Chase's Don't Tempt Me novel. To be a lady but not a prude...I imagine is a hard thing to write but she does it spot on. Bravo!
While there is nothing terribly original about this period novel (except perhaps the hunt for a ghost, I haven't seen that used as an intro before) it was a fun piece of brain candy. The heroine was sweet and while the hero was predictably doltish, the romance was believable (or at least, I was willing to suspend disbelief).
I did feel that the "mysterious" attempts on the hero's life were a pretty shallow plot device and to be honest, had less tension than an already sprung mouse trap.
As with all of this authors books, the time period felt real and well developed. I enjoyed the story between these two charactes. Witty, smart, this authors heroines always make for great reading. I am happy to see this released with an updated cover! I really enjoyed this book!!! If you like a little mystery with your historical romance, pick this up!
2.5: Enjoyable read, but lack of character development, predictable and some things I wished were exploited weren't (ghost story could've been a ploy from the aunt or meeting the man she intended to marry instead).
OK, I started with the middle book, read this one and will now start the first book in this series, but it doesn't make any difference. These are still fun books to read!! Amelia Grey has a way of putting interesting couples together, as well as a vivid description of the London Ton and it's foibles. This book was no exception. I loved it.
