Whew… Jahquel, don’t ever let us breathe, huh? 😮‍💨 You had me STRESSED, hollering, and locked in from page one! This whole book was chaos, closure, and a few deep sighs away from a group therapy session and prayer. Jahquel writes these messy, raw, complicated women SO well that it feels like I know them. You gon’ feel it all reading this: betrayal, heartbreak, growth, and a lil "lemme text my ex" moment.

The Beginning

Jahquel J, Cousin from Another Bloodline, can I be the first, second, or third person to say this: I appreciate you owning your truth and keeping it real. You could have gone back to your earliest works and edited them, improved them, but you didn’t. You told yourself and your readers that those were your beginnings, and that honesty shows your growth from then to now. I love you as an author even more for it.

I just finished the sequel to your very first published book in your catalog, and yes, I’m the fan who vowed to read your entire catalog in 2026. As I sit here absorbing the ending of What A Wicked Way To Treat The Woman You Love 2, I can honestly say your growth is remarkable. This was a tough read—the shifting points of view from 1st to 3rd person, some characters feeling misplaced (Victor killed between Dalia’s legs, not Tone), and grammar hiccups. Still, I pushed through and enjoyed the journey you took me on, and I’m heading back to your catalog for the next selection since I’ve finished all your new releases and am waiting patiently to see what you drop next for your devoted readers.

So, my fellow readers, come take this journey with our cousin, Mrs. Jahquel J.

Rating: 2.5/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m not gonna lie, I was a little bored with this one. Everybody in this storyline is grimy 😭, but after a while the mess started feeling repetitive instead of keeping me entertained. Every new reveal seemed to be another person connected to somebody else, and once Reshawn’s side chick was connected to Malik too, I was over it. It stopped feeling unexpected because I started expecting everybody to somehow know everybody.

Moses was easily my favorite. He felt like the realest one from the beginning, kept his word, and honestly seemed like the only man actually in love because these other men??? I don’t know. 😭 I even went from disliking Reshawn, to liking him a little more, right back to disliking him. How do you have a woman taking care of your kids and home and STILL want to cheat?

The story dragged, there wasn’t much action, and eventually I was mainly reading because I wanted to finish the series. I did like the happy ending, especially for Ty and Moses, but overall this one just didn’t do much for me.

The toxic blended family has done it again!!! Tyrisha still being alive took the cake!! Moses ass love that woman! But MEZZIE! She ain’t nobody to fuck with! Ya think MEZZIE was some weak stripper hoe! Oh hell nah! She killed that baby daddy of her, beat the shit out of Melissa who was Reshawn’s side bitch. Reshawn realize MEZZIE don’t play and said let me get my shit together! Im happy Tigfany realize she needed to slow down in her relationships. Going from one man to another and moving in with them was not it! These people are one hot toxic mess that love each other and look out for each other!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 Stars

I pretty much feel the same way about Part 2 as I did about Part 1. The storyline had potential, but I still struggled to connect with the characters, and the editing issues continued to take me out of the story.

I’m sticking with 3 stars because I know this is some of her earlier work, and having read what she writes later, I KNOW this woman can write. Again… MEERCAT! 😂 That alone tells me everything I need to know about how much her writing and character development improve.

So Parts 1 and 2 are both 3 stars for me. Not bad, just clearly early work from an author who gets MUCH better.

Well I didnt expect that opening. Even though tone was a asshole is the first book it seems he was trying to do better. But didnt seem that matter. This book still seemed all over the place but it did make sense. Just drama and messy throughout. I can tell it was a first book. But considering when the book was written the drama amd mess made sense. The fact the enemy because very close with Tiffany and tyrisha as if they was sister wives/ besties was not expected but I guess that is the growth.not my favorite read by Jah but I'm glad to read her earlier work to see how much she evolved with her storylines

Meh…Possible spoilers

This book was all over the place. When did Tiffany and Mezzi become thugs? Tiffany jumped from one man to the next man, I am happy that she figured out what she was doing towards the end. Tyrisha coming back from the dead was wild. It’s crazy how everything just fell into place. I don’t know how long Moses thought he was going to keep Tyrisha hidden. Just a lot going on like the last book. I am looking forward to Navigating through Ms. Jahquel’s catalogue to see her growth, though!

What a toxic - yet loyal friend circle. I like Jahquel's work! Very happy to have found her books and I look forward to reading more of her works. I enjoyed this last installment, very engaging and entertaining. At times I found myself yelling at the book like I would a movie, lol! She did a great job with the ending, but just as I stated in the Audible review; she has plenty room for a few spin-offs from this collection. Not one dull moment!

In my honest opinion, I felt as if this book wasn’t needed.
Book 1 should have wrapped up the story and ended it.

This one added unnecessary drama to stir up some of the relationships, and families. It had a lot going on that wasn’t necessary in this book. I’m glad every one got the HEA in a way so that’s all that matters.

Amazing

This book was good at first I was skeptical reading part two because so much went on in the first one. I thought nothing else can go on in the second one. But I was mistaken, and I'm happy that the second book showed me that everybody and that I'm happy and love and everybody ended up more successful than what they were.

Very, very, very good!!!

I loved this ending and how the couples went through it and came out on top. Reshawn thought he could do Mezzie like he did Tiff, but surprise and I loved me some Lace & Quinton, I knew they weren't finished. Excellent finale!!!

great read

Betrayal, love, drug kingpins all are in this book. It takes a strong man and woman to go through the things these characters went through but in the end everyone got a happy ending.

Did not like

I love all of Jahquel books but something about this series did not do it for me. The storyline was all over the place. Too many characters that were involved with or related to each other. The circle was so small. I hated this book as well as the first one.

OK

I would give this read a 3.5⭐️. I know this was a re-release, but this was my first time reading this, so I guess it ended like it was supposed to. Did I agree with everything? No, but I will say Jahquel really did grow with her writing skills.

This felt like it easily could have just been put in book 1. Intresting to see how everyone stories weaved together and how it all a panned out. I just wish there was more details on certain characters. Everyone doesn’t need a pov especially if it’s never really expounded on.

Part 2 is much better than the first!

Part 2 was so much better. I love to see Jaquel’s writing evolve as I am going back through her catalog. I love her current writing style but always love her storyline. I love the chapters being from the character’s point of view.

No

I wasn't feeling this story. The characters were all over the place. I only read part 2 because I read part 1. The errors were ridiculous so you had to really focus to know what was going in. But the author did say it was her first book.

Loved it

I loved this series, it had a mixture of everything that you would want in a book. The characters were developed good and the flow of the book kept you wanting more. Jahquel is a Beast with her writing style.

I wanted to give less stars

I wanted to give less stars since ALL of the characters pissed me off, but it is Jah and we all know she gets down with her stories! Another great story! The predecessor to the Delgato universe for sure..

I enjoyed this read.

My characters continued to be their dramatic selves. With time and many changes, you'd think Reshawn would get it right.

That was a good read. Those couples had a lot going on and they needed to communicate better as couple and friends
