This book consists of very short chapters and is written for Early Career Researchers (ECR), who received their PhD not long before stepping into academic career. All chapters are generic and do not go into deep explanation or description of any topic. I think ECRs find it not that useful since after receiving a PhD many may have already learned, in the process and practice, everything that this Guide talks about. Such guides could be a good introduction for fresh Master’s graduates who want to start a research career or apply for PhD.
I like the simple, direct and systematic style. A useful tool/handbook for the beginner. The fact that it's free is much appreciated and allows for wider dissemination of such experience and keenness to teach. It sums up many workshops or consultations into one easy to read text.
