Part murder mystery, part thriller, with a whiff of the supernatural--the first three books, in what can loosely be described as a series, are each very different from the others. First showcased on NBC's Daytime, they feature a reluctant psychic, Lance Underphal and his dead wife, Sonja. Over the course of the series, Lance, with Sonja's help, pulls himself out the garbage pit and comes up the line from major loser to achieving a modicum of redemption.
The first book, Dark Side of Sunset Pointe:
Visions of murders before they happen, it's a curse. Lance Underphal was devastated by his wife's death. And now, the down-and-out freelance photographer can't let her go. He wakes up plagued by premonitions. The double shooting of an Arizona real estate developer and his mistress/bookkeeper immerse Underphal in a world of supernatural phenomena.
Book two, Flight of the Tarantula Hawk:
Supernatural Murder Mystery. Realtor Carla Simon has her first showing in nearly eighteen months. Recovering from a nervous breakdown, she arrives at the bank-owned foreclosure well ahead of her prospect. When her buyer pins her against the wall, it turns out to be the last house she'll ever show. Then Lance awoke . . .
The third novel, Grey Daze:
Something is wrong. As Lance pads softly across the cold flagstone, he hears her weeping. She is on her knees, hunched over in the middle of the room, her back to him, facing the dark fireplace. Something is very wrong. Lance wants to rush to her, but can't. In a hoarse whisper, he says, "Callie?" She lets out a mournful wail from deep within as she turns, their infant son in her arms, blue and still. He reels from the blow. How can this be? They don't have a son.
At home in bed, Realtor Callie Harper finds she is not alone. At the cool touch of her estranged uncle's hand, she shudders. She got the call a few hours ago. Uncle Harold is dead.
Looking for a new breed of supernatural thrillers? Psychic mysteries of murder and suspense? Perhaps a psychic detective series which can be read and enjoyed in any order? Or maybe a set of those scary books you can't put down? Regardless, these dark, disturbing novels won't disappoint.
