I even get the way you look at me sometimes; the way you shake your head, your mouth a rigid line between your mustache and your beard; the way your eyebrows crease and your nostrils flare and you suck in wild draughts of air like a Kamikaze in a nose-diving plane. You might not speak, but I hear you, Dad. You’re saying, 'What the hell am I gonna do with her?'"
