Sweetheart Escapes

Sweetheart Daddy

Rate this book
After moving back to his hometown to help his dad with the family bookstore, recent grad Rory Doyle is in desperate need of fun. So he puts himself up for auction on a dating app hoping to catch someone’s eye. A free three day vacation courtesy of the dating app sounds like just the antidote to his lousy mood. He and a sexy stranger could get up to something fun.

Everyone thinks Jacob Rodgers is scary. He’s a mechanic close to seven feet tall, but he thinks it’s the beard that covers old scars and tattoos down his neck that have people scurrying away everywhere he goes. No one knows Jacob has the caring heart of a Daddy underneath the rough exterior. All he wants is someone to take care of. When Carousel has its yearly auction, Jacob bids on the beautiful blond that appears to be perfect for him. Hopefully the man won’t shy away from Jacob’s terrifying appearance.

Sweetheart Daddy is a spicy MM age gap auction book featuring a mechanic Daddy and a prickly college graduate in need of serious cuddles and fun… maybe an aquarium date. It is a part of the Sweetheart Escapes multi author series. It can be read as a standalone, but why not grab them all?

Hey peeps! I’m Morgan.

I’ve always been a reader and a daydreamer. My writer origin story is embarrassing now that I think about it. But also kinda funny, maybe. One day I might share. If people ask nicely. It involves a psychic.

I share an apartment with my sister in Southern Indiana where we keep the AC on year round and try to keep each other entertained.

Don’t get me wrong, this book was cute as hell and all the cuddly goodness I love in a Daddy book but while the first half of the book kept me captivated because of the anticipation of them meeting for the first time and only communicating long-distance via phone it pretty quickly lost its appeal after they do meet on their won three-day vacation.

First I was disappointed when I learned that Rory was neither top nor bottom but a side (learned that new-to-me word too) but it was still super hot even without them having penetrative sex.

⇢ cheers to my dnf-shelf once again. 🥂 I don’t have reading-time to waste on stories that are not doing it for me (anymore).

so so sweet and different from other books.
What makes it different? Most of the story is long-distance, it takes a while for Rory and Jacob to meet in person. So the structure of the relationship is different from what you read in many stories. In addition, Rory is a side, so he does not want anal penetration. Therefore, the sexual scenes are also slightly different. BUT they are wonderful and in no way less hot.
Apart from that, it's one of the usual Daddy/boy romances, but really something special. The characters are unique and the writing is also very nice.

“You’re such a good boy, aren’t you, Rory?”
“Oh, fuck. You’re starting with the big guns.” Rory whimpers and the sound of his hand goes faster.
🔥🔥🔥

“We’ll make this work. If I have to move to Indiana, I’ll move to Indiana. If you decide you want to go to California, I’ll follow you. If you want to come to Louisville, I’ll make room for you. Whatever you want. You’re mine, Rory, and I’m yours.” 😍😍😍

This was a solid daddy/boy dynamic between these two and I really enjoyed how at first it was long distance so you got to feel the connection between them before they met! Really awesome side representation and proper verbiage so kudos to the author!

⭐️ 3.5/5 – Soft boys craving love, acceptance, and safety
🌶 3/5 – Cuddly Daddy kink with emotional depth

"Sweetheart Daddy" by Morgan Lysand is a tender MM Daddy/boy romance between two characters who just want to be seen, accepted, and loved exactly as they are. 🥹

Jacob is the epitome of a misunderstood gentle giant. Covered in tattoos, tall as hell, and often mistaken for dangerous—he’s really just a sugar-loving, Harley-riding soft Daddy who wants someone to look at him and not flinch. That quiet ache in his chest every time someone avoids eye contact? Yeah… that shit hurts. 🥺

Rory, the boy, is just as guarded in a different way. He identifies as a side, someone who doesn’t want anal sex, and he's terrified that makes him less desirable. Especially after a past experience where he was manipulated and pressured into something that left him in tears. His internal struggle? The shame, the fear of not being enough, the self-blame? Fuck, that part broke me. 💔

These two? They’re both scared. Both tender. Both craving connection but afraid of being too much or not enough. Watching them navigate that vulnerability together is what makes this story shine. ✨️

Now… here’s the thing that kinda threw me off. Rory’s best friend, Rowan, is mentioned so. many. damn. times. Like seriously, it felt like every other page had his name in it. Rowan might as well have been the third main character 😮‍💨

I get that Rory’s best friend is important to him, but the sheer number of times his name pops up made it feel a bit off-balance. It wasn’t bad, per se, but it definitely distracted me from the romance I was here for. I get that they’re close but... why does it feel like he was lowkey competing for page time with the Daddy? 😩

Still, if you’re into low-angst, emotionally validating Daddy/boy dynamics, and stories about learning to stand in your truth while being loved for it—this one will absolutely warm your heart. 💕

Quotes:

My shoulders drop.
Every. Single. Time.
For once I’d like it if someone didn’t shy away from me.
-
At six-foot-eight, I’m tall. Their eyes widen as they drag back down my body, taking in the full, mousy-brown beard, neck tattoos, both arms covered in a sleeve of tattoos, and my muscular biceps. I don’t exactly have the image that screams Daddy to most people.
-
Guys usually try to convince me to do what I really don’t want to, and I cave because I want the intimacy of sex. The closeness of being so together with someone. I always cave because that’s what they ask for and I want to be good for them.
-
“I’m so proud of you for not just jumping in.”
Oh. Oh. Fuck. I might have a praise kink because his words do something to me. I have to stifle back a moan.
-
“You’re so good, Rory.” I straddle his thighs. His eyes go wide and he moans when I slide our cocks together. “You make the prettiest sounds for me.”
-
“So good. So good.” Rory’s drunk on his orgasm. So I lean down and lick a stripe of cum from him, drawing his attention back to me as I clean him with my tongue. His eyes stay on me the entire time until every inch of him is clean from our orgasms.
-
“Sweetheart, I can do that. We’ll make this work. If I have to move to Indiana, I’ll move to Indiana. If you decide you want to go to California, I’ll follow you. If you want to come to Louisville, I’ll make room for you. Whatever you want. You’re mine, Rory, and I’m yours.”

Fluffy Daddy/boy romance.

Very cute and low-angst, Sweetheart Daddy was a great read to pass the time, no brain needed.
I enjoyed the long distance portion more than the second half, once they got together I kind of started to lose interest.
Loved that they stayed true to themselves, with Rory being a side, and didn’t end up having a sex scene for the sake of it. It was refreshing to see a different way to be intimate, and it was still pretty hot.

Tropes and NSFW info (spoilers):
- Daddy/boy (no age-play, no ABDL)

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes & tags down below.

“Hello.” I should have grabbed a drink before I agreed to the call. I sound like I chew on sandpaper for fun.

This book was just a delightful, low angst, sweet and quick read. Both MCs were absolutely adorable in their own rights, and there were two prominent side characters that absolutely made the book even better. The Daddy MC is a large and burly man (6’8 and heavily tattooed), leading to people thinking he’s scary, which breaks his heart a little, considering the caretaking is so engrained in him that he Daddies just about everyone. He really is a gentle cuddly bear, in every sense of the word. Rory, the boy MC, gave me ‘middle’ vibes sometimes, and it seemed like he almost regressed a little once in a while, but there’s no actual age play in this. He’s just a needy and cuddly boy who also happens to love the hell outta his stuffies.

“Can I see more of you? Your tats? Your—how tall are you again?” I strain as if I can look around him. He’s a big man, with muscular arms and no doubt a nice, soft belly to cuddle with. Ideal man, to be honest.

I actually had to google what a ‘side’ was when starting this book. I know of the more typical top/bottom roles, but hadn’t heard the term ‘side’ for those who don’t want/need anal sex. I enjoyed this representation a lot, and thought it was handled well. I’m so glad it was a complete non issue between the MCs, even if the MC who identified as a side was insecure about it.

“I like the idea of comfort, cuddles, and coming. Sounds ideal to me.”

Definitely recommend if you want to read something adorable.

I would have rated this book higher but it has a LOT of instances of switching tenses, or calling the character the other character's name in one spot, and it kept throwing me out of the story. I feel like editing for consistent tense throughout should definitely be caught in round one of edits, so when it happens that many times it makes me wonder about the quality of editing. It's a problem that several books in this and other multi-author series I've read lately seem to have - I don't know if it's just the authors trying to get the books out on a tighter timeline or what, but by the time I got to this book in this series I was just OVER it and the rating suffered a bit because of it.

That pet peeve rant aside, I really enjoyed this book. There is basically zero angst, and none of the (complications? tension? my ADHD brain is not retrieving the word I want right now) is with the romantic plot but rather all external (and still, there's very little of that). This is a great book if you're looking for a zero angst description of two really awesome dudes having a sweet (and hot) online romance and then going on some dates. Definitely a cuddle up in bed with some ice cream or cocoa and get comfy sort of book. Also, I CANNOT WAIT to read Miles' book (there had better be one!!) I love him and Rory so much and want to read about them being besties (maybe even more than I want to read about the actual romantic relationship between Rory and Jake, lol).

This is part of the multi-author Sweetheart Escapes series, which can all be read as standalone. This book links more closely in with Kota Quinn's My Sister's Sweetheart, with their MC's Rory and Rowan being besties (much like Brighton and Peanut in the Black Cat Circus series!) If you're going to read both books anyway, read My Sister's Sweetheart first - I feel like there's more spoilers for that in this book than for this book in that one. (That was a lot of that/this's, sorry!)

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are unbiased and my own.

A sweet MM daddy romance where they meet via charity auction blind date 🤭, there's a big 20yrs age gap, size difference, a bookshop, long-distance relationship, & tattoos! Loved the side characters & the resolutions. I loved to get the #ARC, tho life got in the way, I finally read this over 2 days in around 3hrs! Ugh, if sleep wasn't needed—my fault I started just before bedtime 🙈.

I 1st saw Rory in Rowan's book (Kota Quinn's), & it was lovely to see their friendship together! Rory is so fun, talkative, cuddle-loving, cutie. Jacob is tattooed, & in Rory's words—"Biggest teddy bear to ever teady bear", he's so sweet & kind, great soft daddy (who rides a Harley)! Rory's a side (doesn't like anal sex), that was something new to me! I loved how honest, encouraging their relationship is. Their long distance talks & eventual aquarium date is awesome. Their chemistry is hot, horny 😂🔥. They got me teary too, sweetly!

I loved getting to know R's family, J's brother. I hope Milo gets a book, the guy needs his own daddy! RTC.

This book was seriously healing for my soul, my goodness. Rory and Jacob are utterly adorable and their romance is so passionate and full of life. I loved their dynamic and how close they are and unafraid to be vocal about what they think and feel of each other. The entire book felt like a huge hug. (longer review to come)

🦄 Review 🦄

When all you want is something sweet and short 🤭. With the level of sweetness I was shocked I didn’t end up with cavities 🤭.

Let me tell you I fell for Rory & Jacob right away from the jump. Jacob even with him looking “scary” was a total cinnamon roll. He is just so understanding and the amount of love he has for the people that matter 🫠. He pretty much raised his brother and as much as he would love to find his Forever Boy, he won’t do it at the cost of losing his brother.

Rory on the other hand is just as amazing. He just wants a Daddy who will cuddle him and love him. The fact that he is not a Top or a Bottom but a side and Jacob embraced it and was so understanding had me all 🫠.

The chemistry from these 2 from the moment they started talking on the phone was definitely 🥵. The amount of Phone S3x between them, YES PLEASE!!! Then when they finally met and came together (pun intended 😘) was also just so amazing.

Morgan really had me fall really fast for these 2 guys and I was so here for it. Wanting a short and sweet with some 🥵 moments, this is definitely the book you need in your life.

Reread as audiobook. The narrator did an excellent job as always, and fortunately this was not a daddy/boy book with whining, which I detest in audio :)
Story - 3.5 stars. Very sweet and fluffy story, I couldn't think of any other description that fits. Rory was very insecure and Jacob was a great caretaker. I really liked the side representation. I must admit I still hate the nicknames - MyMy, RoeRoe - really not my thing.

The characters in "Sweetheart Daddy" are all so lovable, and Morgan Lysand writes such great relationships (both friendship and romantic).

Jacob is an "adorable puppy kinda" Daddy despite being 6'8", big, tatted all over, and rides a Harley. He's like the best kinda marshmallow, all rough looking on the outside and all gooey sweetness on the inside. He's a natural Daddy who raised his younger brother. He is a bit self-conscious about how big and tough looking he is because people often avoid him, stereotyping how he looks. He doubts he'll find someone to accept him as he is but takes a step out of his comfort zone at his brother's behest and joins an event on an app that leads him right to his perfect boy.

Rory is a sweetheart, naturally bouncy and full of life, love, and energy. His dad's nickname for him is Roo, but Rory definitely had Tigger energy, always bouncing on his toes. Roo always puts his family first and has been through a lot of changes recently, including moving far away from his best friend Rowan. and he needs a Daddy. Rory has his own insecurities, feeling a bit lost after graduating college because he had to change his plan to help his family, plus he's had some relationship issues because of his intimacy preferences. But a few phone calls into their long-distance relationship, and it is only too obvious that Jacob is just about custom made for Rory.

Their attraction is instantaneous, and the connection and interactions adorable and fun. Every single main and side character is compelling, and all of them are people I would love to have in my life. Or at least hang out and have pizza with.

My favorite scene is when Jacob's brother, Milo, has his business trashed while Jacob and Rory are on a limited-time-together vacation. When Milo calls, spiraling and distraught, Rory asks Jacob for the phone, knowing that his Daddy is torn between caring for his little brother and his new boy, and steps up to calm Milo and offer both his and Jacob's help first thing in the morning despite it ending their time away. The selflessness was sweet, but it was so in character for Rory, and for the first time Jacob had someone in his life willing to put his little brother first alongside him. It was such a moving scene.

The story is just so sweet, and their HEA was never in question.

There was one small conflict with Rory's sister that resolved a little too quickly for realism and didn't go deep enough to get the feels. Although this kept the angst level low, it just felt too simply resolved with a lack of depth that I expect from a Morgan Lysand book.

Sweetheart Daddy is an amazing, sweet love story between a Daddy and his boy, with low angst, as well as warm and spicy scenes that grew and flowed naturally with the relationship.

I enjoyed Sweetheart Daddy enough to read it twice. Once as a Kindle Unlimited read, and once as an ARC I received for my honest review.

Sweetheart Daddy is a great addition to Morgan Lysand's line up of books, and I look forward to reading Rowan's story by Kota Quinn. I also highly recommend Morgan Lysand's Jingle My Bells and Merman Kisses and Starving Incubi...these fall into the fantasy category rather than contemporary, but such great reads.

This book actually started off fine but, if there is one thing that loses me in Daddy books, it's when the dialogue feels extremely superficial and scripted. I loved the initial interaction, the fact that Jacob was a kind and patient Daddy who was often misjudged because of his height and tattoos, and that Rory was a boy who so needed a Daddy. But then the story devolved into these very child-like conversations and yes, I know Rory is a boy, and a little, but still. Everything got very flowery and sappy and over the top. There was no 'story'. You could predict the dialogue a mile away. The friendship with Rowan was nice, but Rory talking about him all the time was not. Rory got extra needy for no reason. Why on earth would he think Rowan would be 'happy to be rid of him'? He was his 'soul mate' five pages ago. Just eye roll worthy. Then with Milo he's all authoritative and decisive *rolls eyes*. The whole scene with Lydia was overdone and cringe. I saw this in another view and agree - nobody in this story seemed 'real'. This could have been an awesome Daddy book if it wasn't so scripted and cliched, and if the characters talked like real people and not actors in a bad porno. By 75% I was skimming, and that epilogue. Skim, skim, cringe.

Also, I am all about learning new labels and I appreciate the author writing a character that's not as prevalent in romance novels, so now I know what a side is (someone who doesn't like penetrative sex), but that trope won't be at the top of my reading list.

❣️ Review ❣️

Sweetheart Escapes series is a multi-author collaboration centered around a charity auction on a dating app. You can put yourself up for auction or bid on someone and the winning couple is given a destination weekend vacation.

Sweetheart Daddy is the story of Rory and Jacob. Rory is heading back to his hometown to help his father with his bookstore. It is taking longer than he expected and is taking a toll on Rory. His best friend suggests Carousel, the app that holds an auction once a year that benefits a charity. Rory needs a Daddy, a vacation, and just to relax! Jacob decides at the very last minute to bid on Rory and wins the auction.

For a month, the two got to know each other and played long distance. When they are both able to take their vacation, Jacob sets up the weekend. They have such a fabulous time together that leaving becomes almost unbearable. Rory and Jacob are able to create ways to be together longer and grow closer. Their feelings rapidly move from like to love.

Morgan Lysand adventures into the world of Daddy/boy for the first time and does such a fantastic job creating characters and a story line I was totally all in for. I really enjoyed this sweet instalove story.

Being the dutiful son comes with sacrifice, grown-up decisions, and a determination to improve things in the process. Can you do all of that and not lose yourself and even go for something for yourself?
Being the grown-up and raising your younger brother when you both lose important people comes with sacrifice and a determination to ensure you are both well-adjusted and happy. Can you find what makes you happy and still be there for and help your family?
Can this young college graduate bring the family business into the modern age with success and no hurt feelings? Can this young man also find someone to accept and love him for who and what he is?
Can this big man with a bigger-than-life heart find a boy to love the Daddy he is?
Putting oneself up for auction is a big step, and being honest afterward takes courage and interest. When you bid in an auction and go to the max in hopes no one else will outbid you, it takes the big heart and determination of a larger-than-life man you are.
When life finds you a happiness you weren’t sure you would ever find, can everyone you love find their happiness as well?

5 stars, hot and Spice brought you this enjoyable story that brings this multi-author series to an end.

Normally I’m not really into that whole “Daddy” thing, maybe only a little (like Onley James does it). The whole “little” thing is honestly a bit too kinky for me. This book toes that line but never really crosses it. There’s mention of age play or pet play, but the main characters don’t do it, which is absolutely perfect for me.
Alright, what is this book about? Well, basically it’s a bunch of cuddles and fluff wrapped in a sexy gift box. Two people meet via an app, they fall in love, and go on a vacation together.
The main characters are a sugar sweet daddy who looks as scary as he is cuddly, and the twink boy who just wants to be wrapped up and held by him.
I think this book is totally sweet and cozy and an absolute comfort read. It’s really low on drama and you won’t find the MC’s fighting one bit because they’re absolutely perfect for each other. So, 5 Stars for being totally sweet and exactly what I needed after a long day 😊
And I can tell you, anyone looking for a low-drama comfort read with a little bit of kind will absolutely love this book.
So, enjoy! And thanks to Morgan for writing such a sweet book! 😊

Sweetheart Daddy lives up to its name and is a sweet, comforting and occasionally very hot read between two men clearly meant to be together.
Both Rory and Jacob have experienced pain when it comes to relationships. Rory is a side which some men just can't seem to accept and Jacob is a tall, bearded and tattooed man, often looked at with fear and caution which is the total opposite of his nature. I love the premise of the story, with one man bidding on another and getting a vacation out of it but also the possibility of their HEA. Both are extremely nervous when they first start talking but it only takes one conversation for them to want and need more from each other.
It's a fast developing relationship but it feels natural for them. They are both open and accepting of what the other sees as the negatives of themselves and it makes for heartwarming reading as they build each other up. I enjoyed the interaction we got with their family members too. I really want to read more from Milo, Jacob's brother, and Rowan, Rory's best friend/platonic soulmate.
A recommended read from this series, I now need to go and find the others!
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

MM - Biker Daddy

What a beautifully written book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a new author to me, but after reading this beautifully written book, I am eager to explore more of their works.

I loved the characters. Rory and Jacob were well written. We could all pine for a Daddy like Jacob, a great caretaker and excellent Daddy.

Rory is a side, and that is handled well within the story. It's a nice change to typical daddy/boy books, so it's well done.

Zachary, the narrator, once again delivered an excellent performance. I've had the pleasure of listening to about 18 of his books, and his narration style has become a comforting norm for me. I did speed up the narration to 1.20 on Audible, which is my norm.

Can a dating app truly lead to true love?

Jacob and Rory are the sweetest freaking couple in the history of the world! They complimented each other so well, building each other up through their insecurities I loved the scene when Jacob made Rory say positive things about himself when he was being self deprecating. I loved Milo as a secondary character, I loved the relationship he had with Jacob and then Rory. I hope to see him in another book. The spicy scenes were hot. I hadn’t read a book with a side identifying character and I wasn’t sure how the spicy scenes would be, but they were so spicy and were not lacking anything. Morgan typically writes supernatural romances, but killed it in this contemporary.

I’m going to have to check out the rest of this series.

Jacob was such a big teddy bear but people always judged his "biker looks", running away from him. This made Jacob self-conscience and sad cause all he wanted to do was help people. But then Rory comes bouncing into his life, lusting after his looks, but more importantly really seeing Jacob and his big heart of gold. Rory was so unsettled, not knowing what he wanted in life but once meeting Jacob, he definitely knew one thing he wanted...Daddy Jacob, who was so understanding, sweet, protective, and loved cuddles. They were perfect for each other, each giving the other the happiness, love, and true acceptance they each needed.
There was humor, cute antics, sweet/tender moments, steam, and low angst. And the secondary characters were fully developed and intriguing so I'm off to look for their story, thank goodness for multi-authors and shared worlds 😁

This might be my first book by Morgan Lysand. For me it is always great to discover a new to me author I enjoy. A danger exists in wanting to purchase a whole load more by said author adding to my never decreasing tbr pile:-).

This side boy Rory and his hulking tattooed teddy bear of a daddy Jacob where a treat to experience. The get to gether in an unusual way, but vibe together really well admiat all the snuggles virtual and irl.
I liked how they brought the best out of the other. Also the daddy is one in his core, taking care of others is in his dna. Alsoboy Jacob is not shy to help like his daddy does.
Sweet veey low angst mm daddy boy story with characters that are equally balanced in the storyline.

Audiobook
The narration by Zachary Zaba lent itself very well for this stoey. It is sweet and heats up where it needs it. Another lovely audio by a narrator I love to liaten to.

Zachary Zaba has proven again to me why he has become one of my goto narrators. Rory has a beautiful innocence to him that Zachary made even sweeter, which just draws you as a listener. Then, on the opposite side, he gives a beautiful daddy voice for Jacob. A great distinction to both characters.

This is a great daddy boy romance if looking for a sweet romance with fun spice mixed in. The main characters and their support network are so accepting and supportive of their friends. Jacob is a great daddy in that he makes all the people in his life feel loved and supported with even more towards this beautiful boy when they meet. It's just a great overall quick read that will be added to my comfort resistance pile for sure.

Never judge a book by its cover

This is the absolutely sweetest story ever! Jacob and Rory are so perfectly suited for each other and I loved reading about how they go from a club auction date to being the perfect Daddy and boy! One of the best parts of this story is how the author let the characters take their time and build their relationship on honest and open communication. They both make concessions for each other - particularly in the subject of s€x - and it was really refreshing to read about that type of honesty and intimacy. There's so much tenderheartedness and emotion and I just gobbled it all up! Absolutely recommend 100% and I'm very happy that I found this. So good!

If you want all the sweetness and no angst then this book is for you! These two were so genuinely sweet they made me tear up a couple times. I'm not sure I've ever read a Daddy and boy so perfect for each other. Everything about them was just pure perfection.

I loved Rory's relationship with Rowan as besties. They're the epitome of best friends.
I loved Jacob and Milo's relationship as well.
All of them deserve so much love. Jacob is perfect for Rory. And Rory is perfect for Jacob. They both had insecurities but being together they were able to overcome those.

The epilogue was perfection! Yes, everything was perfect, okay? This book was perfection. Period.

Loved Rory and Jacob

Beautiful written story, couldn't put it down. When Rory had to go home and help his dad in the family's bookshop he was a bit lost, not knowing what he was going to do. Stay there or go back to California with his best friend. When he went on the dating app for a daddy he didn't expect anyone to bid on him.
Jacob took one look at Rory 's profile and bid. They talked for a month before of meeting. Rory was everything Jacob wanted in a boy. But then they met up, and everything went perfectly.
Loved how well the story flowed.
Want to know what happens to Milo next.
Highly recommend

Rory & Jacob

Sweetheart Daddy was exactly how the title sounds. I love how each moment between Rory & Jacob is perfectly sweet and fun. They interact and connect so well, as all Morgan Lysand characters do. Jacob is clearly the ultimate teddy bear daddy, and Rory is his perfect boy.

Their supporting friends and family were wonderful to interact with as well. Rory and his friend Rowan are a total hoot to listen to back and forth. Their banter had me giggling much of the time. I love that they each consider one another their soul mate, but that each of their partners understand that it's not a romantic mate situation, just the best of friends kind of love.

Jacob and his brother Milo have an incredible family dynamic that makes them so close despite their decade age difference. Their difficult past brought them together in the worst way, but they both benefited from their closeness. I was happy to watch Milo's circumstances shift during the story too, considering he's not one of the MCs in this book.

The ending of Sweetheart Daddy really warmed my heart, and I love seeing what feels like genuine happiness grow and bloom between the characters. Jacob & Rory are the perfect, sweet couple, and I wish I could continue to follow their journey of love.

Audiobook Update:
Zachary Zaba is an absolutely fantastic narrator, as always. His ability to isolate each character's voice and identity to coincide with the author's story is incredible. I've listened to several of his narrations now, and I am blown away by the control and quality he brings to the stories. I have no clue how a book narration is actually made, but I can't imagine it's as easy as he makes it seem.

I received an authorized copy of this story/audiobook and am volunteering my honest review.

This is, what can I say, sweet!!
Jacob and Rory meet through an auction through an app, do long distance for a bit, then get to meet up for a vacation.
Jacob is self-conscious about his appearance, but Rory gives him confidence. Rory is worried about his future, and what he thought he wanted for his life, and Jacob helps him work through things. Rory’s family dynamic made me sad in that his siblings seemed to not really care about him since they were older, but he has a better relationship with his Dad.
Jacob and Rory both blossomed with each other, and I loved meeting Milo in this story. I’d already read his book, but now I’m thinking I want to go back and read it!
