Nylah Walker knows what it’s like to be protected. You don’t grow up with five brothers without having someone close by, watching your back at all times. She craves independence, and Cradle Mountain is her fresh start. Her new beginning. But fate has a terrible sense of humor, because during her first shift at a new job, not only does she meet overprotective, sexy former Marine Liam…she also finds herself in unimaginable danger.
Liam Shore knows danger. He lived and breathed it during his time in special forces, then again as a prisoner to Project Arma. He thought living in a small mountain town would mean leaving peril behind. But suddenly, he and his friends are hunted men. Protecting his team is his first priority…until the danger overflows onto others.
When the threat shifts its sight to the new woman in town, the one with ice-blue eyes who captured his attention without even trying, Liam is determined to protect her, despite how hard Nylah tries to resist her savior. Because losing Nylah isn’t an option.
Australian Romantic Suspense Author, Nyssa Kathryn, is a passionate reader and writer of all things romance. Living in South Australia with her hubby and daughter, when she's not spending time with the family, she's either plotting her next story or got her head stuck in a book.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 🩵🖤❤️💚💜 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎 Character development: ☹️☺️😍😄😘 Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration type: Dual Narration
The Hero:Liam - he is former special forces and was kidnapped by Project Arma, held captive for two years and injected with drugs and animal DNA that the project was researching to try to create super-soldiers. Liam and his team did end up with enhanced abilities and were well trained in how to use them. Since their escape from the project, the entire team moved to Cradle Mountain Idaho and built a thriving security company called Halo Security.
The heroine:Nylah - she recently moved to Cradle Mountain, away from her twin Cody and her family in Tennessee. She wanted some distance and some independence from her five military brothers. She had worked at her father’s bar her entire adult life and everybody thought she would take it over when he died, but she decided to move away.
The Story: Nylah was attracted to Liam from the moment she walked into him. She could tell by the way he held himself that he was former military, like her brothers and felt bad about the things him and his friends had been through with Project Arma, which had been in the news. It isn’t long before a group of men try to kill all the men from Project Arma, and Nylah is in danger as well as Liam while his team searches for who exactly is behind it all and who wants them dead.
I loved the fact that Liam wants to protect Nylah, but Nylah just got away from five military brothers who wanted to keep her safe all the time, so she just craved her independence. The hunt for the people after the guys and Nylah was pretty good. I love the fact that one of their abilities is that they can hear people's heartbeats and can tell if they are lying. That would be an awesome ability to have. I have really enjoyed this series and the original Project Arma series. I am sorry that this was the last book.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder. Jason Clarke is one of my favorite male narrators and always does a fantastic job. His voice is deep and gravelly. Emma Wilder is ok, but not one of my favorites, she has a nice voice but narrates in an odd tempo. Though I do love her voice for male characters. It is better than most female narrators can do.
Nyala leaves her home town for a new start one without her overprotective brothers around. She ends up on Liam's radar and now she is dating an over protective Alpha male just her luck. But My aka does need the help because now she is a target of a hate group and they are looking for a kill.
Time after time Ny is al.most killed and all the guys band together to protect her and their families from the haters.
Liam is strong and sweet and their relationship happens fast but when you know.you know.
As always this story was fast paced and great loved it.
This book is an excellent bridge in so many ways. Nylah has ties to a band of brothers (blood, in her case) who all need to find love, so I look forward to time with them. Liam has ties to the Marble Protection group. They both have ties to the Blue Halo group, especially when Nylah saves two who are near and dear to one of the men during a horrific attack. But who wants someone gone? And is Nylah the target, or is Liam?
I love Nylah’s strength under pressure and her ability to clearly communicate that she’s no wilting flower in need of someone to dictate her every move. After all, she’s got five brothers who tried and failed, which is exactly why she’s now in her new town. When Liam leads with emotion and appears to do the same to her, she shuts him down in no uncertain terms. But she’s also smart enough to know when she’s outmatched and has no qualms about admitting that to Liam. And Liam learns as quickly as he moves, so he makes a point to apologize and do better with every day.
That’s not to say that there isn’t still imminent danger. There is. And every time you think you know who’s behind it, you doubt. Or you’re wrong. Or you’re close to right but not quite. This mysterious danger is masterfully woven into a story that I didn’t want to put down. Heck, I’ve finished it and I’m already wishing for more! And that’s how I know that this author has me hooked, because I can’t wait for wherever we head next.
This book is action packed and so suspenseful that you don’t want to put it down. The Blue Halo team as well as the Marble Protection team are under attack by an unknown group and things are dangerous. Liam meets a newcomer to town when she literally runs into him and there are sparks. Nylah has left her hometown and 5 protective brothers to experience freedom when her life is turned upside down while working as a server at an engagement party. There is an attack and she is now one of the targets of a radical group. Liam goes into protection mode with her and that’s something she has had enough of. I loved the give and take of this couple as they navigate a new relationship and danger. I truly did not see the twist coming as the villain is revealed. I have truly enjoyed watching each of the men of Blue Halo find their woman and look forward to a new series.
The last book in this series was filled with action and suspense from start to finish. A great love story and a intro into a new series about Nylah’s brothers.
“I’m Nylah Walker. Have a nice night, Liam Shore.”
Liam is the last of the Project Arma men single. When he meets Nylah Walker he’s smitten. She moved to get out from under her five over protective brothers.
Liam. Her new safety net. Her new sanctuary. She hadn’t expected to find it in this town. Definitely hadn’t been looking. And man, had she fought it.
Hold onto your hat cause this one is crazier than normal.
Finally!! A female character who kicks butt!!! Nylah is amazing and I can completely understand her independence and need to stand on her own. The fact that Liam supported her and they found a way to take care of each other was great. Terrific story from start to finish.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nyssa can honestly do no wrong when it comes to writing romantic suspense books with protective alpha males and independent women. Her stories are fast paced, intense and so well written that you know before you open the first page that once you start you won't be able to put it down. Liam was definitely no exception to this. Liam is the final guy in our Blue Halo team, and I think Nyssa might have saved the best for last. Liam is a protector through and through, and he's all alpha male. Nylah is a woman who is desperate for independence from her military brothers, and decides to settle down in Cradle Mountain. She needs to be on her own and make her own way like she needs to air to breathe. Her five military brothers mean well, but as the only girl in the family, they tend to suffocate her rather than just protect her. Of course, one of the first men she meets on her new job happens to be Liam and the sparks are instant. But Liam is everything that she's trying to get away from. But the Blue Halo and Marble Protection team are being targeted by a fanatic extremist group, and Nylah may have seen the identity of the leader. Now Liam and his brothers aren't the only target, and it seems like the group is now fixated on Nylah, as well. Liam is determined to protect Nylah with his life, even if she fights him kicking and screaming the whole time. Will Nylah put her need for independence aside and let Liam keep her safe? Or will her overprotective brothers step in? And who is the mysterious Hawk giving this group its orders?
This book was so amazingly good! I stayed up way past midnight simply because I could not put it down! I have read this entire series, and while I have been excited about Liam's book it's also bittersweet because I am not ready to say goodbye to these characters! This story was so well done, and I loved how Nyssa included the Marble Protection team in this one, and we get to come full circle in that group. The suspense and action was superbly done. Every chapter there was something new happening that just kept me on the edge the whole way through. And the bad guy...I never saw that coming! I had two guesses as to who it could be, and they were both wrong! Liam was alpha male perfection. I loved his character, and his backstory. He is such a protector, and takes it personally when Nylah gets hurt. I loved how he tried to tone back his overbearing nature to see Nylah as the strong woman that she was. I really liked Nylah's character. She's independent and she can take care of herself. But she wasn't overboard with it. When she needed help, she asked for it. These characters were perfect together, and really balanced each other out so well. I loved her brothers' characters, and I am so excited for their books! Overall, this book...this whole series is just fantastic! I'm sad to see them go, but I'm so happy to have read their stories! Thank you, Nyssa for an amazing ride!
In this last Blue Halo book of the series, Nylah Walker and Liam Shore are the lead characters and boy, are they terrific, too. Both have such caring personalities and when they befriend you, it’s all in. With five overprotective brothers Nylah felt the need to move away from her home town to discover life and gain independence. Ending up in Cradle Mountain was a good idea at the time—until it wasn’t!
The whole concept of people attacking his team makes Liam extremely uneasy but when the attacks become focused on Nylah, he is out for blood. This book showcases how supportive the Blue Halo guys, are and not just towards each other and their partners but also other people in their town. Support, trust, loyalty are all accurate words to describe Liam and his team.
Nylah is a sweet person but she certainly has fantastic self defence and she uses her strategies well. She’s such a strong woman, her father and brothers taught her enough for her to survive an attack and by golly she employs those lessons without thinking. More importantly, she uses them to help others too. Hmmm… see the same characteristics in both lead characters? They make a great couple and they have such a wonderful rapport with each other and other people.
It was great having so many of the characters back in the story, including the ones from Marble Falls. Courtney has always been a favourite character and she is just as wonderful as ever in this story.
The action is all the way through the book and with it comes plenty of drama. The mystery keeps you guessing, and like usual, there are some fabulous twists and turns in the storyline. Meeting Cody Walker, Nylah’s brother, was great and I was hoping this story was going to be a bridge to a new series—yep, and Cody gets his story told first. Woohoo!
Liam Shore is the last single man standing out of his band of brothers at Blue Halo Security. Together they survived Project Arma and now Liam is the last to stand his ground as the single man. Hoping they’ve all reached the end of threats and drama….all the men, including Liam, and their women attend an engagement party for one of their brothers. Liam meets Nylah Walker, a server that catches his eye. When all hell breaks out, Nylah’s training from her 5 solider brothers kicks in and she is able to save a mom and her young daughter while also catching an unfortunate glimpse of who they believe is the ring leader to the ones causing the chaos. Nylah tries her best not to fall for Liam and the safety net he promises, as the entire reason she left home was to gain independence from her over protective brothers, all the while Liam struggles to not be overbearing in a protective way. When they realise it’s not just Blue Halo but all the men of Project Arma including their families, as well as Nylah, the teams go into overdrive to work with the FBI on tracking down who is responsible and why. When they realise the threat is someone close…they start to wonder who is the leak. Can Nylah give in to Liam’s protective nature, or will her thirst for independence cause her more harm. Will Liam learn to give the space she so desperately craves while fighting the need to keep her safe. And who is this new threat. This final instalment of Project Arma hits you in the all the feels. There’s passion and oh so many steamy scenes, danger and suspense….and the question at the end of each one of Nyssa Kathryn’s books…who do we get to fall in love with next?

𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗦 ♥️ Romantic suspense ♥️ Protective MMC ♥️ Former military alpha men ♥️ Loads of action ♥️ Strong FMC
𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 This was an exciting and action-packed read! The star for me in this story has to be Nylah. It is so easy to like her. She is compassionate, kind, selfless, empathic and is just such a good person. But yet, she is not too soft nor a doormat. She is also strong, brave and you can’t mess with her.
Initially I felt that her reason of wanting to be independent felt abit vague. But it was revealed and elaborated more as the story goes along and I felt that I could understand and empathize with her more and more. I like that there is a good balance of wanting to be independent but also doing the rational thing. A lot of times, FMCs that want independence end up being quite annoying as they were doing irrational things that obviously compromise their own safety. Nylah was not like that.
The plot twist was good! I failed to guess who is the bad guy, totally did not see it coming. The story came to a good end with a good closure on all the clues and little details mentioned through the story. I love how Liam was so protective of Nylah, I wished for just abit more of character depth for him, like to know him abit more.
I’m intrigued with all of Nylah’s brothers and I assume the next series will be about each of them, starting with Cody. I just read the blurb for Cody’s book and I already can’t wait! I am most curious about Lock, I love me a good mysterious MMC 😍
I read the first half of this series and then skipped books 5, 6, and 7, but I will for sure be going back to listen to those as well. Liam has to be the character I know the least about, and seemed to have the shortest back story compared to say Aidan or Flynn. The culmination of this story and the way to was crafted by the author helped close the loop on a few things while still having enough twists and turns to make the book interesting, without being overly complicated. Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder did a great job capturing the essence of Liam and Nylah.
Plot Summary: Looking for a fresh start, Nylah, picks up and move across the country to settle in Cradle Mountain. She and Liam collide when they meet at Nylah’s first shift at her new job catering an event for an engagement party for one of Liam’s “brothers”. Nylah and Liam fight their attraction, but for different reasons. Nylah has 4 overbearing and overly protective brother’s back home and she doesn’t want another protector ruling over he life, but as she continues to find herself in danger time after time, it becomes clear that someone is out to remove Nylah from the equation. The Blue Halo team is also in the middle of a huge battle, as they get closer to uncovering the person controlling the strings on the attacks against these men and the ones they love. Liam has to figure out how to protect Nylah, while allowing the independence she craves, but it is that independence that could get her killed.
Readers are taken back to Cradle Mountain, Idaho, and the men of the Blue Halo Security . A company made up of a group of elite military warriors who had been put in an experimental project with the intend of enhancing their body. Unbeknown to them, they were in fact guinea pigs in a drug trial that was off the books . One that almost got them killed until they finally got their revenge. Nowadays they run a successful company and little by little these strong men are finding their soulmates. Nylah Walker has just moved to town in order to be independent of her five overbearing brothers. Brothers she love, but ones that didn’t give her any breathing space. On her first day at work, she gets caught in the midst of an attack against the Blue Halo men as well as those of Marble Project. Liam Shore was one a prisoner of Project Arma and all he wants is to see all his friends safe. From the moment he meets Nylah, he’s attracted to her but she resists him at first because he is just like her brothers , strong, overprotective and overbearing. But when Nylah’s life continues to be threatened, Liam takes it upon himself to keep her safe. This was an action packed story filled with bad guys, hunky good ones, strong and likable main characters and romance. Another winner in the series where the author introduces characters for a potentially new series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Wow!! Just wow. I am speechless, which doesn’t happen often, because this new plot twist from Author Nyssa Kathryn has just rendered me dumb struck. What a clever as all hell tangent she has led us down, and that moment when all is revealed was both enlightening and ... *mind blown* 💣💥
LIAM is the final book in the two PROJECT ARMA related series and I have absolutely enjoyed every book. I loved meeting the original group from Marble Protection join the Blue Halo team and it was great to have everyone present for the finale. Each of the ‘brothers’ are honourable, protective and loyal to the core, and the overprotective Liam struggling to give a strong and able Nylah some breathing space made for a fitting end.
She was perfect for him, although an ex-military father and five overprotective military brothers, she truly felt that Liam was exactly what she didn’t need!!! Unfortunately for her, the heart wants what it wants, and her heart just couldn’t resist Liam’s, especially when people are gunning for her and she really did need him to back up her own skill set.
What an amazing and addictive series this has been, and it’s one that I highly recommend for readers who love military romantic suspense books with plenty of heat and more tropes that you can shake a stick at. 5-hot-military-read-Stars 🖤💞✶
What a way to end a series. I've been waiting for Liam for ages, and Nyssa didn't disappoint. The suspense in this book is awesome, and just when I thought I had it figured, another thing turned up. I was so excited to keep listening. The romance is swoon worthy, and the steam was up there. It was wonderful to hear past favourites, especially the marble alphas. This plotline was wrapped in every type of emotion, and at one stage, I wanted to shake the H, and even the h a few times, but i just loved Nyla's sass. And it was all for a reason, which turned out to be more angsty and scary than ever. The closer to the end, the wiser I got, I just couldn't wait to see if I was right. But at the same time, I didn't want Liam to end. It was just brilliant. The pace was so good. The twists are so clever. There are always some parallels in some form or another that resemble the world today, and this book isn't any different. It made me angry and frustrated and sad all at once. Everything was so well put together and tied up nicely. I'm happy for the HEA, but I'm sad it's the end. I was wondering where Nyssa was going to go with her story, seeing as she wrote the final action scene the way she did. But I shouldn't have been concerned. It was an absolute boon to have Jason and Emma narrate. They breathed life into all the characters. They are a 1 click go-to narrators for me.
Liam Blue Halo, Book 8 By: Nyssa Kathryn Narrated by: Jason Clarke, Emma Wilder
WOW! What a story! I was on the edge for the entire book! This is the last in the Blue Halo series, but it pulls in all the men from Project Arma too! Liam is taken with a server at Fiona and Callum's engagement party. Nylah is in town, getting away from her overprotective family to gain some of her own independence. But what happens next is completely unexpected. Attack on the Project Arma men is leading to more and more danger, and now Nylah is a target. Will Liam be able to protect her? This book is packed with unsuspecting suspects, twists and turns and so much excitement! It's fun combining the two teams and the action they bring. And the surprise at the end I didn't see coming. It's a great ending to the series, though I will miss these men and it could not have been better.
Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder bring it all alive with a stellar performance. Clarke is the man! Overprotective, wears his heart on his sleeve, and has all the emotions pouring out of him. Liam is special and Clarke makes him that way. Wilder is tough! Nylah wants to be on her own, and Wilder brings out all the obstinate, independent feel that Nylah wants. These two build the suspense and bring it all to a close with an amazing narration.
The last single man Liam finally finds the one woman who turns his head and makes him want what his brothers at Blue Halo have found…love. Nylah moved to Cradle Mountain to gain her independence, having five over protective brothers and being the only girl in the family, she needed the “break”. Meeting Liam and knowing he is one of the Blue Halo man doesn’t bode well for her, she’s trying to “get away” from over protective men. But the attraction is strong and neither of them can fight it and now that Nylah is a target for a hate group that is after the Blue Halo team, she has to decide whether being with Liam will take away the independence she has wanted for a long time. Swoon and sigh and swoon and sigh….Liam and Nylah, both strong and lovable…Nylah who is not a wilting flower and who knows how to take care of herself and Liam, a fierce protector who treats his woman with care and swoon worthiness. A read I couldn’t and didn’t want to put down once I started with suspense, action, twists and turns, surprises, steam, great characters and a story that flowed seamlessly. I LOVED the no drama and no other women getting in the way. A bittersweet end to the Blue Halo series and the men from Project Arma but I am HOPING and PRAYING a new series may have been introduced with five brothers. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Liam is part owner of Blue Halo Security in Cradle Mountain. He and seven other former soldiers formed the company after having been kidnapped and experimented on. These experiments gave them enhanced skills and abilities. Since their rescue, they have fought to find the people responsible and fought against others' prejudices. Nylah is the only girl in her family. She has grown up with her dad and five brothers. As the only girl in a family of alpha protectors, she’s feeling smothered. She moved to Cradle Mountain to get some breathing room and find freedom. When Liam and Nylah meet, Liam is immediately taken with her and doesn't want to let her get too far away. Nylah wants some space not to get into a relationship that feels like the smothering she ran away from. When Nylah's life is in danger she will have to decide whether she can let Liam be her protector.
Great action packed adventure with some surprises at the end. Kathryn has a way of weaving a story that keeps you riveted and wanting to know what happens next. I love everything about this book, the camaraderie between the Blue Halo men and their women, the nonstop action, the romance and relationship struggles. She has it all.
I received a review copy of this book from the author. I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Liam is the eighth and final book in the Blue Halo series.
Liam has watched his fellow team members find their soul mates and fall in love. He’s happy for them, but sometimes feels a little lonely. While celebrating the engagement of Aidan and Cassie, Liam bumps into a beautiful woman and know’s instantly that he wants to get to know her.
Nylah has left her five overbearing military brothers to live without them constantly trying to protect and smother her. She moves to Cradle Mountain where she gets a job as a waitress for a local catering company. Her first job at an engagement party turns deadly when men appear and start shooting at everyone.
Liam and Nylah are attracted to each other pretty quickly. She’s trying to be independent and initially refuses his help - even though Nylah knows deep down she’s in danger. These hardheaded/stubborn leading lady characters always drive me a bit crazy! Liam apologizes and Nylah soon realizes she’s safer with him.
There are a number of close calls in this book where both the Cradle Mountain and Marble Protection teams are in danger. They have an enemy who has targeted not only all of them, but their families as well. I wasn’t sure of the identity of the enemy until right before they were revealed. But there were surprises that I didn’t guess and was shocked by. This is the conclusion to the series. All of the guys get their HEAs but I hope to see these characters together in the future.
Starts with a bang . . . literarily. An explosive end to a great series.
Between the almost insta-lust and the intense battle at the beginning of this book, things are off to a perilous start.
Nylah wants an escape from her overprotective brothers and runs straight into danger. Her brand new job was off to a stellar start, especially when she met Liam. But it soon turns into a nightmare when bad men infiltrate putting Nylah smack dab in the middle of a battle between the men of Project Arma and someone hellbent on eliminating them. Unknown to her, she witnessed something and becomes a target. Liam, who had experienced a crippling loss he was unable to prevent, will do everything in his power to make sure another person he cares about will be hurt under his protection. Nylah fights it at first, not wanting another man to smother her under the guise of protection until numerous attacks on her life sends her straight into the man's arms.
With non-stop action, a protective hero with deep emotional scars, a feisty heroine, this book has everything that makes a romantic suspense story exceptional. An excellent end to a series that pulls both Project Arma teams together for one final battle. Sad to see it end.
This was a fast paced book full of suspense and mystery. It was a great way to end the series and transition to the next series focusing on Nylah’s brothers. There was never a dull moment in the plot and I loved the twists before finding out who the leader of this new threat to the men of both Blue Halo and Marble Protection.
Nylah moved to Cradle Mountain to get a fresh start away from her overprotective brothers, but ended up falling for a man who was just as protective and capable of keeping her safe. I loved that even though she felt an instant connection, Liam had to work to earn a chance with Nylah. He had to put aside his own need to protect at all costs and understand that Nylah was capable of more than he realized and valued her independence.
The suspense in this book really brought Nylah and Liam together. I loved the way they were so concerned with each other’s safety. I loved Nylah’s strength and that made her the perfect match for Liam. She was someone who could take care of herself but also allowed Liam to step in when needed.
I liked the way this book involved both teams and introduced Nylah’s brothers. It was well written and engaging. I really enjoyed reading it.
2.5* It was okay. This series was quite exciting when they were fighting against Project Arma. Feels like the author is endlessly creating enemies.
I’m sorry but halfway through this book, I thought ‘Not more enemies!’ These books were really good when they fighting against Project Arma. Now it just feels like the series should have finished way before this.
Nylah is working at an events centre when it’s attacked by enemies of Blue Halo. As Nylah saw one of the attackers, she’s in danger. For some bizarre reason no one asks her if she saw anything, so nearly all the way through the book, they don’t know why she’s being targeted! 🙄 As Liam and Nylah grow closer, their enemies become more determined that Nylah must die.
I don’t know what it was with this book, but I didn’t feel any chemistry between Nylah and Liam. I didn’t feel any tension or excitement, sadly the danger starts to feel rather silly. As endless people are sent to kill Nylah. It begs the question, CAN NO ONE SHOOT?? As she’s endlessly shot at and everyone misses!
I think the author had got bored of this series, and it should have finished way before this. Sorry but this book felt like a huge anticlimax!
Nylah is new in town, wanting to get away from her overprotective family. When her best friend gets a job offer out of the country, Nylah volunteers to stay at her condo and watch over it for her. She runs into Liam at a disastrous event at a job and can't stop thinking about him. Little does she know, he's even more overprotective than her family as he works for Blue Halo Security who is made up of superhuman men with altered DNA.
I really liked that I had no idea who the main villain was, which I usually always seem to figure out by the time it is revealed. I also loved the "not a date" date Liam took Nylah on, especially the picnic part. Liam and his team are "enhanced soldiers" which means their DNA was previously modified. This was also something I'm not used to reading, but I loved that it didn't feel over done or unrealistic. It was a little different for me with the talk of the DNA alterations, but not overly weird or creepy.
Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder are perfectly paired together as Liam and Nylah. Their voices matched their characters and they both did a great job with all the side characters too.
THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You love fast paced, suspenseful romance with a hint of spice and a thoughtful MMC.
•Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 ▪︎Spice Level: 🌶🌶/5 •Recommend: Yes ▪︎Re-read/re-listen: Yes! •Trope: lust at first sight, Forced Proximity, Uber protective hero.
• Thoughts: I honestly am so sad that this series is over! This book was a perfect way to wrap up this series! This is book 8 of the Blue Halo series. I was hooked from the very first page of the book. It starts off with a bang and keeps you guessing!! I couldn't get enough of it, so what did I do? That's right. I devoured it, I didn't want to put it down. Liam was such a shocker for me. I mean, yes, we know of him and love him just as much as the rest of the guys. But goodness, his intensity was swoony, and I absolutely adored him! I love love love, Nylah! What a strong female character! As much as she wants to resist Liam, that little charmer just has her captivated. The story was such an epic ride! I loved everything thY this story had to offer. The characters, the development, the interaction between all the characters. Chef skiss! Well done, Nyssa! I am so sad to say goodbye to this series, but it will definitely be one I revisit.
This book was action-packed from beginning to end, there was so much going on that I could have easily read it all in one go if I hadn't needed to sleep!
I loved how this book tied in all the Project Arma guys from the other series. You do not need to have read them, this is a complete standalone, but I think you would have a better understanding of who everyone is if you did. I love how this also ties into the next series featuring Nylah's brothers.
I was really kept on my toes with who was the target, Nylah or the Blue Halo guys. Then I was trying to guess who it could be and why - looking back there were little clues and hints dropped but I absolutely did not guess who it was until it was revealed.
Liam is the last of the guys to be single but once he sees Nylah he's a gonna, and although she moved to escape her over-protective brothers, she falls for over-protective Liam. Nylah was kick @ss, she knew how to look after herself and didn't crumble under pressure.
This book has a lot of casualties, but they are pretty much all baddies.
I'm sad to see this series end, but I am looking forward to the next one!
Smothered by her military trained, over-protective dad and five brothers, Nylah Walker yearned for independence. Ny felt free when she moved to Cradle Mountain, sublet a girlfriend’s condo and quickly got a job at the event center where both ARMA enhanced teams were celebrating. Having met earlier in the day, Ny and Liam Shore were attracted but didn’t act.
Out for air at the same time, Liam makes a date with Ny, he stays out while she goes back to work. He notices a suspicious van, then gunshots at the party. Liam rushes to help his team, Ny sees Willow with her young daughter and sends them to safety via a hidden door. As Ny prepares to help more people, a gunman enters the room with the secret door.
Ny stops the man from following the woman and child and is beaten for her effort. Liam’s check for more thugs, startles Ny’s attacker who runs instead of killing her! The team learns the culprits are members of a hate group determined to end both teams. The gunmen want to eliminate the teams but concentrate efforts on Ny as she chafes under Liam’s protection in their new relationship while the team suspects a traitor in their midst. Rating: 4.5stars
An excellent series wrap up, with an enticing (fingers crossed) upcoming series taster to go along with it.
Liam is the last of the MP men to find love, something he has come to find more and more its what is missing. In typical fashion when Liam falls, its quick and hard for the mysterious Nylah, and when they get into a dire situation early on their relationship kicks off fast and furious with Liam unable to stay away or stop thinking about her. I loved Liam and how he didn’t really hesitate to accept his feelings.
I loved Nylah, especially how strong she was and stood up for her own independence, not letting Liam take over the protective role she had escaped from with her brothers. I loved how they compromised and both worked to understand each others perspectives on this.
Action all the way through, this book really doesn't let up at all and I adored seeing the Project Arma characters come up in this book.
A great story wrapping up a fantastic series, I will miss these characters but hopefully we might see just a little more in future series.
It was amazing having all these amazing characters brought back and having them interact, even if trouble seems to find them. The main couple Liam and Nylah are just... (swoon). I love how she is so strong! Strong enough that she can take care of herself, but she also knows her limitations and when to ask for help. I love how he is so into her and willing to learn. To do better. These two are a perfect fit and they deserve their hard-earned HEA. This action-packed adventure takes you on a wild ride of unexpected twists and trns as Liam and Nylah find their way into each other's arms. They are just perfect for each other and I just went through the whole story in one go. I'm sad to see the Blue Halo guys go, but I'm excited to meet Cody and Nylah's four other brothers. Can't get enough of the hot, steamy, suspenseful, action-packed page-turners Nyssa Kathryn has gotten us used to. Can't wait to see what these brothers have in store for them. I definitely recommend this book, as well as the whole seris. I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Wow, what a way to end a series! Action-paced, suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat awesomeness, and hard to put down. This book is fantastic. There is just so, so much to enjoy here. I loved seeing the Marble Falls cameos in this final book, it seemed fitting for the end of the series. Nylah and Liam were explosive and I loved their spark. They had wonderful chemistry that just drew them together. I loved the give-and-take dynamics of their relationship and how they worked together to eliminate the final threat. Nylah’s strength, determination, and compassion were amazing; she was definitely Liam’s perfect match. She gave him the balance he needed in his stormy moments and he gave her the safety and feeling of home. It was a wild, fast-paced, bumpy ride with a great shocking twist. I’m sad to say goodbye to this series but I loved getting to know all the guys and gals and seeing them find their HEAs. I can’t wait to see what Nyssa brings us next!
I think Liam and Nylah have just become my favorite couple!!!
Nylah, being protected by her overbearing brothers for years needs to find her own life and knows she can’t do it under their thumbs so she moves to Cradle Mountain. Finding a job as a party organizer, she finds herself working a party for Marble Protection and Blue Halo.
Liam sees her and she takes his breath. Talking to her, Liam knows that he has to spend time with this woman. Convincing her before the end of the night, Nylah finally gives Liam her phone number. Little did either one know just how much their night was going to change.
Danger always finds these guys! They are alpha protectors but Nylah doesn’t think she needs protecting, oh but she doesn’t realize just how wrong she is!
I hate to see this series end but I am looking forward to the upcoming new series, Reckless Hope and can’t wait to see Cody’s story!
