Strong: Life, loss and eternal love for my daughter

Rate this book
Would you believe that superhuman strength does in fact exist, and scientists classify this as a disease? What if you were a child born with an unprecedented form of this already rare muscle disease that gave you extraordinary strength, appearance and stamina?Growing up with Myostatin Deficiency was not an easy task for William Strong. He was bullied by other children, discriminated against and later hunted by the law for murder. While homeless and seeking refuge in the shadowy back alleys of Milwaukee, WI, he unintentionally becomes a local hero--striking fear in criminals by his violent displays of chivalry, fueled by a hatred for his past and the people in it. Although his disease gifts him with tremendous strength, his lack of compassion and forgiveness . . . makes him weak.

It is sad story but I felt the child went through so much and filled with such toxicity that it wasn't fair on her little body. Especially when even though most of her organs were tumored the elongating of her life ended up tumours to grow on the brain and would have explained some of the blood leaking in death from tear ducts and ears. It went on too long. I hope though his fundraising the children who don't have a famous parent to gofundme pages get a little help too.

I had followed this family’s story on social media while it was happening. More recently I had seen Ashley on a podcast and always admired how he spoke of his daughter so I decided to read the book. It was very uplifting and motivating. Even if you can not relate to a loss like this you can apply his mantra and mindset to your life when going through difficult and dark times. Some extremely rude review was posted on this tread, not only is it insensitive and out of line it seems as though the person didn’t even take the time to really read the book. With that being said don’t judge someone if you’ve never had to deal with something as horrific as loosing a child. Book was beautifully written and quick to get through. I enjoyed it and would recommend it
