The Resonance Cycle comes to a climactic head in this final entry in the first trilogy. Returned to Earth, Ty enacts his most ambitious plan yet, even as the Monster god and her allies work to thwart him. With unlikely allies and a horde of enemies, he must do the impossible to keep two worlds from falling into darkness.
As his journey unfolds, he will learn the devastating truth about the Resonance. Faced with impossible challenges and stranded in a place he could never have anticipated; he will finally see the full scope of the past, along with its awful price.
Past's Price completes the first of three trilogies in the Resonance Cycle.
Ummmmmmmmmmmm.........what a revelation, also I thought the narration took a different approach for this volume, but thinking about it, I just realized how big the Renfroeverse is.......making it more exciting and there are truly a lot of stories to write about.....
So Book 3, a bit different, again Ty is still low level Ty, with all sorts of hopes and dreams then story winds around a different path, a surprising one, but it opened up a new storyline, a bit grim and hopeless was the initial vibe, as the story unfolds, there must be a reason this was placed in this particular time, I am still thinking that there was something here not as straight forward as is usual, as the story progresses, we begin to read the bigger picture about the Antagonist's "Master plan".
Ty finally goes back to Volar to.......finally LEVELING UP(he did had some upgrades at the other place though which made his leveling up that much more effective) then disaster struck.....this was more than what I thought of, and again another twist, an ugly twist..............
Finish Book 3, just like what Kuroko said to Musakibara, NOW I AM ALSO ANGRY, I just hope this particular arc's end is much, much more exciting, a lot of what if are running around in my mind now................
Gotta admit my own mistakes. For the first two books, I complained about the story being very slow, almost no action. Book 3 on the other hand is full of action, good character, development, and evolution, and good progression of MC‘s powers. The first two books built the foundation for this universe, and I can truly see how it makes book 3 and probably future books in this series much better. I will be going back to update my previous book reviews. Can’t wait to read book 4. 🙌🏾
4.5 stars. No real complaints, just not quite the full 5. Things are coming to a climax as the Bridge between worlds approaches, and the MC has to make up a lot of ground fast due to his handicapped class progression. That is somewhat resolved by the end (in a round-about way), so whatever Gotterdammerung is approching with the enemy gods coalition will see Ty and allies empowered to be competetive at least.
I am enjoying this series and the overall progression of the story this book presents. I will say that there are some rabbit trails that stretch the story a bit. And the author even introduces an entirely new cultivation system to the main character. But eventually the story gets going again.
I started reading this one on Royalroad. I got distracted by other things and now I'm a couple of books behind. Oh well I'll just try and catch up over the next few days. I really enjoy this series and look forward to sinking into books four and five over the next few days.
I did not expect the book to go in this direction. I’m excited to read the next book and see where the venture leads, especially if there are more bunnies in it. At first, I did not care for it, but several pages into it, I was hooked. I’m excited to go onto the next book and see where the venture leads, especially if there’s more bunnies in it.
Solid completion to the series. Book took something of a side detour for a good half of it but tied in enough to the main storyline that I didn’t mind. Looking forward to where the next set of 3 takes us.
New directions that were unexpected in this book, but complimented the story nicely. Nice growth in the main character and world has become more complex.
Can't argue against ending with murder bunnies.solid add with a good twist. Hopefully author doesn't spread things too thin. Looking forward to the next one
