On Küçük Zenci bence fena olmamış.

Lesson learnt after reading the comic book edition of one of Agatha Christie's book is that some novels are best enjoyed in only certain formats. Like Maggie noodles should never be tried in a waffle avatar(pure blasphemy), Christie books are best enjoyed as full length novels. Take this book for example- Hercule Poirot's adventure aboard the Blue Train travelling to the French Riviera where he gets to solve the brutal murder of a rich heiress and the theft of her grand rubies. I'm sure, if I had read the paperback version, I'd have enjoyed it much more than reading this hashed and butchered comic version.

The illustrations were good but much of what happened in this mystery novel was lost to me. I had to take help from wiki pages to understand more about the plot. I think it was a bad idea really to convert Christie's books into comics. I'll stick to my paperbacks and hardcovers for Christie novels after this.

P.S: The two stars is only for this format of the book. Maybe I'll read the full length novel and I'll like the plot. But Christie comics are strict no from me.

Neyse hayat, vapurlar...

English HarperCollins Edition = 2007 = £9.99

I am convinced that this adaptation would've been an undeniable "masterpiece" -a shelf on which I put extremely few- if Piskic hadn't had the FrancoBelgian album page limit (high 40s).

Nearly all novels advantage from more pages but Agatha's, shrouded in mystery and subterfuge with the necessity of many words to reveal it all at the end, need additional length more than stories in which the reader actually knows what's actually happening throughout.

more on the great art later...

An author who's work fits perfectly with all elements of the graphic novel.

Dvě hvězdičky znamenají "it was ok" a to tak odpovídá. Metoda "show, don't tell" tu asi nikomu nic moc neříká. Příběh není špatný, ale převedení do komiksu mi nepřišlo nejšťastnější.

Tämän osan grafiikasta en oikein innostunut. Tarinakaan ei ollut sarjan parasta antia.

The death of a woman on a train who was in possession of a famous ruby necklace is a mystery only Hercule Poirot can solve.

I wasn't thrilled with this adaptation. For some reason the adaptor made Poirot a big man, which is just untrue to his character. There's a line at the end of this story about Poirot being a big man and it is supposed to be ironic, but in this adaptation it loses some of its intended multiple meanings. There's also a lot of characters in this story who only appear for a short time, and towards the end I was having trouble keeping them all straight. Perhaps because of the artistic style? I'm not sure. Anyway, not my favorite but it is still a decent mystery and kept ok for even younger eyes.

Notes on content: One or two minor swear words. No sexual content or decency issues. Two couples are having affairs, but absolutely no lurid details. Obviously there is a fatality, but the artist positions other characters in such a way readers can't even see the dead body really.

On Küçük Zenci en sevilen Agatha Christie romanlarından biri. Mavi Tren'i ise sevemedim. Yine Poirot geldi. Üstüne çok fazla karakter vardı. Her şey bastı beni.

İki roman iki farklı çizer tarafından yeniden üretilmiş. Her ikisinin de üslubu çok keyifli. Zevkle okudum. Zenci bibloları favorim.

Lakin, On Küçük Zenci benim belki on beş kere okuduğum, neredeyse ezbere bildiğim bir romandır.

Saya rasa, perlu perhatian besar agar mengerti ceritanya jika belum pernah baca versi novelnya.
Terus, Poirot versi Marc Piskic kesannya "gempal kekar", bukan "gempal unyu".
Tapi, saya cukup mengapresiasi karya ini.

💙This wasnt my favourite I found it a little bit all over the place and there wasnt really that much going on so I got quite bored easily. It is really easy to guess what's happened in this one but that could just be me I'm not sure but I did enjoy parts of it and other parts of it just missed the mark.

Just didn't enjoy it. The artwork is great but the plot was too convoluted and irritating to follow - I usually love the detective genre and Poirot is usually great.

I thought that this book had really vivid dialogue, drawings and drama throughout.
